A few additional notes about the mod: 1) Monster Chests now respawn under blood moons, which makes it possible to get additional orbs post doing all the shrines 2) Kiltons shop now contains all limited weapons in the game (Kite shield, forest dweller sword, etc) so you’re still able to get them even if all the base ones break! 3) In a lot of RPG’s, you can wait to level up your character right when you hit low health to get a full hp restore. This can be fully replicated in this mod, as you only level up when you bring up the visualizer!! (Heart container restores all health, Stamina vessel restores all stamina) Let me know if you have any other questions about it, and I hope you enjoy!! :)
Great video, this adds a whole new layer of gameplay to BOTW! Personally I’d like to keep it hidden, because BOTW will get a bit more “grindy” to get “more XP and levels”. This was very interesting to watch though, nonetheless! 😊
This looks so cool! Probably not something I'd play myself, as I tend to focus more on exploration and less on combat, but I'd be fascinated to watch you stream it someday.
I think it would be cool if the hero of the wild set defend against most elements. Not fully, so it wouldn’t completely outshine all the other environmental protection, but enough to make it worth finding all 120 shrines.
Can I just say thanks for always getting straight to the point in the video intros? It’s so refreshing to not have to listen to two minutes of “botw is a masterful game enjoyed by millions of people around the world blah blah blah…” before getting to the actual video.
Everyday waiting until may is pure agony, your content makes the wait more bearable, and worse at the same time. Thank you so much, love your content :)
@@Croton call me crazy but i think the voice singing in reverse in the totk trailer might be the voice of fi, it is somewhat similar to her voice and we already know fi is somewhat awake again, fi speaks to zelda in botw through the sword, and since zelda's power depleted so she can't hear it anymore, but it is just a mini theory
Looks really cool. I'm wondering if levelling right there on the spot was the best call. On the one hand it lends legitimacy to the levelling system -- "this is an important moment!" -- but on the other hand, being interrupted with a levelup in the middle of a fight or something seems weird. Personally, I think I'd have done the Oblivion thing. "You feel stronger. Go pray at a Goddess Statue to receive a blessing." Then when you do, you can then cash in your levels. But it could go either way. Now I just need to learn how to play a modded version of Breath of the Wild...
That's why a player controls when they get to level up! It only happens when the XP visualizer is called, so it won't interrupt combat unless you want it to
@@Croton OHHHHH, I missed that. Guess I shouldn't watch these things in the background while working if I'm going to slide into the comments and critique them 🤐
This mod is a really cool idea. Thanks for covering it. Having a super accessible shop for rare items would have made my many hours of grinding armor upgrades obsolete.
I like this idea a lot and it would be cool if it was in tears of the kingdom. I know its not possible modding but maybe instead of a shop its a skill tree that lets you use spirit orbs to basically upgrade link like "Sword damage +10%", "Stamina lose from sprinting decreased", or "Gliding speed increased by 25%". Sounds cool to me.
Wow this really fun! I think it might be better to have an option to reject the level up in the visualizer menu, so that you can see how much you have banked, but still save the level ups.
Considering how popular the Mario RPG games are I'm surprised that Nintendo hasn't done the same with the Zelda series especially considering the series is a much better fit for the genre.
Great video, this adds a whole new layer of gameplay to BOTW! Personally I’d like to keep it hidden, because BOTW will get a bit more “grindy” to get “more XP and levels”. This was very interesting to watch though, nonetheless! 😊
I'm gonna replay this game soon on my super ultrawide that I'm getting next week, 50" 120Hz, I'm super excited. I wish Nintendo made an optional mode like this, would have been dope, but this will more than do!
I love your videos, even your hours long streams. I finally figured out how to wind bomb and I wish I figured it out years ago. Annoying apparatus shrine got you down? Wind bomb over the gate instead! I'm doing Champions Ballad (finally) and have wind bombed over three of the more annoying shrines, It doesn't even feel like cheating, it feels like MORE of an accomplishment. Thanks for making the game more fun.
I have a challenge idea. It's a yiga clan only challenge. You can only use weapons from the yiga clan. You can dye the shieka set red and use that. You must fully upgrade the armor too. And you can only heal with mighty bananas. Torches are allowed since the blade masters use torches in the hideout
This is great! It FINALLY puts some rewards in the over world that balance out the overwhelming amount of underwhelming rewards. I can see why this isn’t how the base game was developed though, as it’s counter intuitive to force players to fight in a game about exploration, but this is a great modification. Also, what happens to the test of strength shrines in this mod? One thought I had that could make them more useful is since they replenish every blood moon, maybe their spirit orbs do too?
Croton i really love your videos i have a recommendation to try beating botw using only farming gear just something i would like to see much love brother hopefully u see this and we can get the video
Here's a thought Croton if it's not available via Switch version put it in the title ; if it's for the modded version mention it on a separate video with it being the Modded 1 in the title
if perks could be worked into this instead of weapon and material rewards that would be really cool imagine having a high jump perk environmental resistance perks (like level 1 heat resistance which would mean you could cut 1 piece of armor that you would of had to wear) lower / no stamina drain for certain actions (definitely with a very high cost) damage buffs etc etc
This must be done for TOTK, this mechanic, will motivate us to fight, I also suggest, three "status" attack(increased weapons damage) Defense(increased shield power) and Luck(More and better loot from enemies and ore deposits and chance for critical melas and elixirs), this XP system, was used in the legend of Zelda 2 Adventures Of Link.
I wish this was a real mode because it would be so much easier to access. It’s the same game with a special twist that changes the game drastically. Can’t wait to see you play through it
Sounds really cool but had a question about getting Korok seeds in the statue, what happens to the korok seeds u find in the wild if u use all your spirit orbs to buy them? And say that isn’t the case and these are seeds u can only get from the statue. Considering there’s a limited amount of spirit orbs ingame, what if u spend them all on every but the seeds? Will u just not be able to get them?
There's still 900 seeds in the wild! The ones in the shop are just extras, as korok seeds work more as a currency rather than a collectable Also I mentioned in the pinned comment, that the monster chests are respawnable via blood moon now - so you still can get occasional orbs now even after doing all shrines!
Durability could be solved with XP as well. The more skilled you are with weapons and shields the less durability they will lose. This may require to add in 20 more levels. Weapon and Shield Skill levels: 1 = -10% durability decrease per hit 2 = -20% durability decrease per hit ... 9 = -90% durability decrease per hit 10 = -95% (or -99 or -100%) durability decrease per hit
@@Croton Well it took a couple tries, but I finally got the mod manager working properly. (Ow and I have so far only opened one monster chest on the plateau and it did not give orbs, but that might be intentional maybe)
Did you create a new save with the mod already installed? Otherwise it may not work properly Also I assume you are using the XP visualizer weapon version over button combo?
@@Croton Just to make sure I deleted the entire save folder through cemu, but it still doesn't show. I did download the non weapon version as well while I was trying to get it to work, I will see if that somehow causes interference even tho I do not have it active at the moment. Correct you only need to install the RPG by itself as that comes with the visualizer! Otherwise, making sure your CEMU/bcml is up to date is definitely important - and manual installs of the mod do not work
