Five types of lynel killers in botw

- #botw #breathofthewild #legendofzelda There are many ways to kill lynels, some are common ways, and others aren't. Today, I put together a compilation of some of the methods, and gave each of them a nickname. Let's go!

So you know how the enemy alert takes a really long time to appear over lynels’ heads even when they’re looking straight at you? So I managed to go into BotW with no concept of these centaur bastards as a thing that exists and my first meeting with one (you can get right up to the one near that first memory you’re guided to) went something like “Enemy? I didn't have any idea how to fight it at that time and I thought I was just too weak (I had 4 hearts so every attack of his one shots me) and couldn't dodge well enough yet so I just collected the arrows around it. Once I got in some fighting experience I went back and kicked his ass.

I've been playing for years and it took me forever to finally get the hang of killing them. My suggestion is to keep bum rushing that shit and practicing the timings for each different lynel weapon type. Only hard part about that is staying optimistic and not rage quitting because you will die a lot if you aren't used to fighting them. Also u need to find 3 lynels with different weapon types..... which honestly sucks unless you use a map made by someone for all the locations. I personally find the spears the most annoying to fight against because of a jump attack that they have, also the spears honestly aren't that great compared to some other weapons aside from their durability in the savage form. Crushers just take patience because the shockwave lunge attack can be hard to get timing down on and I still keep away from those lynels because for some reason I cannot dodge them for the life of me. A good spot to have a chain of lynels to practice on is in a canyon area near gerudo tower. Pretty sure there are two sword lynels and a spear if I remember correctly.
As someone who plays this game incredibly casually, i think you’re giving me too much credit.
I still haven’t done a single flurry rush (ever).
I forgot the flurry rush, side hop, and backflip existed until yesterday lol. I’ve just been headshotting things, running away, rinsing and repeating for any battle I can’t get out of. You forgot the crackhead, who perfect parries and dodges while on 3 hearts and just dances around until they get unlucky just so they can know they’re better than the Lynel. Doesn’t even always kills the Lynel, but feels good doing what they do.
I often test my abilities in the game. I beat Gabon without a bow. Sword and shield only. 4 hearts and no food, no armor and no buffs. It was hard.
To practice parries and flurry rushes I kill a Lynel with only weak shields and swords for flurry rushes and parries
Yessss It’s really fun because for some reason when I dodge the shockwaves hit me and can’t do a full attack so then,I get pumped because the game is challenging me into defeating a lynel that can 2 shot me
@@lucascocks I was having so much fun I accidentally did it naturally so now I have to go with the flow Lynels and the Big/small bokoblins I can only parry and Dodge not the Lazyfos I can never
Not so much the three hearts but yeah I love to make a proper battle of it, dodging, parrying, and winning through sheer combat prowess
I'm a crackhead in training. I got the Up Close and Personal crackheading down, but when it comes to when the Lynel starts galloping around i shift to Headhunter/"get up on the Lynel's back" for weapon preservation

Aw you are missing out from the best battles in the game ...and if I can kill one anyone can..
Thanks for this.. I never knew how OP just spinning with ancient proficiency was. Also, the boomerang trick looks pretty cool.
And then there's me, running in terror, eating through most of my food reserves and _maybe_ getting enough lucky hits in to eventually take it down, because I suck at the game. :D
Easiest way to take one down is to figure out how to backflip to avoid the attacks. It takes a bit of practice to get the timing down, and some (crusher lynels) imo are easier to parry some of their attacks since there is a shockwave you get too, but the timing is super consistent and once you get the rhythm it's super easy to get a flurry rush on basically every attack. Then you just have to worry about running out of swords XD
Not sure if you already do this, but instead of using normal food, just cook several individual hearty durians. A single cooked hearty durian will completely refill your health. You can actually use any hearty thing, but durians are the most common (and fastest to cook because you don't need to move the cursor)

This is brilliant and I will be using it
"The lazy ass"
Me in the trial of the sword : wait, is that me?

Used up all my arrows too early in my first try of the last trial. Ended up killing all enemies but the lynel of the last room and managed to get him down to around 3%. It then one shot me
I’m the type to stun lock a Lynnel to defeat. No damage taken, although it requires a lot of stamina. Start with a headshot, then spin with two handed sword while he’s stunned, when the lynnel comes to and starts to attack- release the spin for urbosa’s fury lightening which will stun him again. Go back to spinning, rinse and repeat. (If you need a second for stamina to recharge, step back and use the bow to stun and keep at bay)
Lynel: oh look I see a worthy opponent

Shoots blue arrow
I love how the most efficient method is called the casual strat.
The most eficent is the headshot one, is the safest, has the most dps, faster, easy and low resourse use (A 5x Lynel Bow and some arrows), with 1 bow you can kill 2 lynels before It breaks, the 1st is actually the least eficent
@@LuisFelipe-pq9lr Your bows break? *Durability glitch enters the chat*
If you have a 5 shot savage lynel bow and a 116 dmg royal guards claymore, you can kill a gold lynel in 2-ish minutes, i just headshot the lynel as it runs at me then get on its back and wail on it with the claymore
no most effiecent way is bug with horses where you can hold your weapon and motion control kill a gold lynel in sub 10 seconds

2:50 "Parry this you filthy casual"
I enjoy the “2000 years later” when spinning was actually the second or third fastest of the 5
If we count the ancient arrow It is the 3 fastest and easiest way
Fastest is ancient arrow, then headshot spam with 5x shot savage lynel bows, followed by spin2win
Most resource efficient method isn't in the vid. That would be doing exclusively perfect parry -> 1 headshot -> mount n' pound -> repeat. That way you're using up 0 durability and only very little (standard-)arrows because most of your damage comes from the mounting. And both hitting while mounting a lynel and perfect parrying consumes no durability whatsoever. Method gets more resource-efficient the stronger your strongest weapon is (damage per hit). So get that atk-UP royal guard claymore or an atk-UP savage lynel crusher to need even less arrows.
I’m the type to just hold my shield out and flurry rush every single time

That cocky selfy pose after the boomerang kill😂 well deserved though.
I'm a mix of the casual and headshot.
Also, Peco amazes me still. That boomerang one was amazing
You forgot about the counter-attacker:
Shield up, perfect dodge and counter attack
I loved the boomerang one, just casually launching a billion boomerangs to do the job for you
And then there's me: the sort of noob. The one that runs around like a maniac, but still somehow manages to defeat it (with the help of mipha's grace, daruk's protection and multiple fairies)
Damn wtf I didn’t know lizalfos weapons could do that
There should have been, the scaredy-cat, this player doesn’t like to fight high level lynels and stick to fighting red lynels
either i’m closest to ‘casual’, or i find a piece of scenery to hide behind and slowly chip away at it with arrows and Urbosa’s Fury while it tries to find who’s shooting at it
