    15 to 20 Snoopy Figures created, laying on his hut, all made from glass fibre. Initially carved from polystyrene / styrofoam, with productions moulds made of each. Huts were then decorated by various celebrities, to be exhibited and auctioned, to raise money for charity.

    I never cease to be impressed and inspired by your work. Having learned quite a bit from your videos I built a large scale model of the spaceship from the old My Favorite Martian TV show, using blue DOW rigid foam, fiberglass and epoxy resin. I'm currently building a full scale replica of the NASA Mercury Space Capsule, Friendship 7, again using the techniques learned from your videos.

      Tell me about it! Hey ho, just need to crack on with it sometimes. That's why allowing for enough time is important, so these things can be accommodated. Thanks for the comment Jono!

      generally when we pull apart the mould, the polystyrene master pattern is destroyed, as it's pretty much pulled apart, unfortunately

    one more question plz what resin do you use in the silicone rubber mould epoxy or polyester?
    would both epoxy and polyester resin uses the same gelcoat?

  • @apolofranco619
    @apolofranco619 5 років тому

    Hi! I loved how you created so many snoopys! I have one question... Did you apply any other material to make the Surface white and smooth after the fiber glass? ( referring to Snoopy ) or you just sanded it And as consequence of sanding the fiber glass takes that colour?. Thank you very much!!

    • @AdenHynesSculptureStudios
      @AdenHynesSculptureStudios  5 років тому +2

      A white gel coat goes into the mould before the fibreglass. So it come out of the mould with a better finish than the woven fibreglass look. We then need to do a butt load of sanding and filling with car body fillers to both make up the join line as well as correct any imperfections in the surface. Before it's primed white

    Hi guys, just love your work, I watch every one of your videos and marvel at your creativity. Could you please tell me what the brush on silicon rubbers name is. I have tried pouring rubber and latex but not seen this. Cheers guys'.

    • @AdenHynesSculptureStudios
      @AdenHynesSculptureStudios  7 років тому

      Hi Barry. Thanks for your support! The code for the silicone rubber is RTV3322 Silicone Rubber. We add a thixotropic additive to stiffen the rubber and allow it to be brushed or troweled/pallet knifed on. I'd recommend two or three coats of silicone without the thixo beforehand though, to capture the details. I get my silicone from Bentley Advanced Materials.
