I am awed at how life-like your work is. The Santa sack looks like fabric and the rope give the appearance of a satin cord. Wonderful work guys getting ready for Christmas.
Inspirational and oddly satisfying to see a project from start to finish. If my kids had seen that in our backyard they would have no doubt that Santa existed! Great work!
I am now convinced there is nothing your studio can't make. When I see that you've posted a new video I always get excited. Ever considered opening an Aden Hynes Sculpture Studio in the US?
We usually use car body filler to smoothing out the fibreglass layer and it is quite tedious. May I know what is the red & blue colour filler which you have brushed on the present box?
For going over with a blanket coat of glass fibre for unmoulded pieces like this, it all depends on a few things. What this is going to be used for and whether it's going to be touched, kicked, climbed on etc. And whether you are keeping the polystyrene inside or not. For this, it's going to be seen from a distance and not touched, and it's not going to be hollowed out, and the polystyrene is going to be left inside. So we went on with about 2 ounces of glass fibre mat.
Aden if you have time to answer it would help me out. I'm using foil to protect my poly sculpture prior to fibreglass ING, but I find it's a nightmare to get the fibreglass/resin to adhere to it. How do you get around this?
Gap filler and a wet sponge are your friends for a quick and durable filler/smooth finish. I swear by it. And it's cheap. There. I shared a trade secret. Your turn. 😀😀
@@AdenHynesSculptureStudios Naww. 🙁 I was hoping you'd slip up and share the sticky back foil source. Sigh. hehe. TELL ME THE SOURCE OF YOUR POWER OH WIZARD!!
Good rewatch to get in the old xmas spirit!
