    Fantastic tool! I came across these videos by chance and my Arp will arrive tomorrow. I have been looking for something in the middle of tracking and live play, and this just could not have hit the spot more. So well thought out and so intuitive. Keep making these videos. Each one reveals something more incredible each time.

    this box looks awsome to make music when you have no idea of music theory (and don't want to learn)

    Thanks for sharing! When changing scales/notes during the performance, does it synch to the timing set (next 1 bar, etc..) or is it instantaneous?

    • @midicakemidi
      @midicakemidi  Рік тому +1

      Changes are instantaneous, as it makes for creative use of chord changes. Changing slightly off-bar isn't jarring, like you might expect, because the notes are all timing synced. I hope that makes sense.

    Maybe an idiot question : how is this visualisation done... I like to visualise each played note/chord and duration in this way. For arpeggiation-patterns and music sequencing it's so very usefull and practible. I saw this visualising application in hundreds of YT-videos about synthesizers but I never made this comment. I like to uses an un-used "old" tablet screen only for this purpose. How I do this? What software is used ? And/or is this made based on a DAW piano roll (visualisation)? Or Simple Piano-sofware/app or Piano Synthesia software/app?
    I'm looking for the NDLR or the Nopia. But the ARP seems also a top instrument. Do you have experiences with the NDLR and/or the Nopia as well?
    Btw : I like your ARP(eggiator tutorials) very well.

      I use this software: github.com/kosua20/MIDIVisualizer. I then record MIDI data from ARP into Ableton and play it out via a LoopMIDI Virtual MIDI Port: www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html, recording the screen. It's pretty easy to configure.
      I have a NDLR and it's a great device but there are many differences between it and ARP. I am of course biased but, I believe ARP offers more freedom to explore chords and sequences where NDLR is limited to 7 Chord Scales in a chosen key. ARP also tracks external keyboard playing so it can behave more like an accompaniment to a Keyboard or Chord sequencer. ARP is also under continual development. I love working on it and will continue to expand its capabilities.
      I don't believe Nopia is available yet?
      I hope that this information helps.

      @@midicakemidi Yes, Wow : this information helps a lot. Thank you very much. Okay : "MIDIVisualizer"... I've not yet a NDLR neither a Midicake ARP. I'm looking for accompaniment and the ARP will do this very well, according to your answer. So, I think I'll go for this "accompanion" 👍👌

    Great video! My Arp should be here early next week, looking forward to it. What app are you using to display the piano notes vertically from the midi?

      Thanks, I hope you enjoy your ARP. Note display is from MIDIVisualizer. I used Synthesia for a long time but this has more control.
