  • Every beach fisherman likes fishing for Bass! We've discovered the pop up rig which has really helped us to catch more Bass. It is also great for Whiting and Cod fishing in the winter. The pop up bead helps to keep your fishing bait suspended off the bottom, which will prevent the crabs from eating your bait. It also looks more appealing to fish and you can still fish a bait on the bottom. This way you can have a bait at different levels of the water column, therefore increasing your chances of a fish finding your bait! It's a fantastic rig and in this episode Graeme and Mike head to the south coast of England to test the rig out. In conditions that are not ideal for beach fishing, they still manage to catch Bass. We hope you enjoy the episode - Graeme & Mike

    people say these wont work for cod but i have seen underwater footage of long line fishing where the cod were 3 or 4 foot of the bottom and hammering the baits

    with regards to not having float stops, just buy a spool of drennan power gum, and tie your own float stops there and then, it works brilliantly, and if you leave the.tags long, they'll go through the rod quides if you need them to, say.if float fishing in deep water with a sliding float.

    Hi Graeme, I'm a huge fan. would like to know whether you have considered making large mouth bass fishing videos and tutorials, though I know it's not a big hype in the UK. hope you obtain more subs. I wish you the best of luck for all your endeavours.

    Hi Graeme/Mike,
    Another great video. I have loads of foam earplugs that im going to try instead of the beads. I will probably put a baiting needle through them first just to make a hole. I have different colours too which might help as an attractor.
    Cheers For Now Guys,
    Steve in Fife.

      Hi fellow Angler,
      Thanks very much for your message ref foam earplugs.Im going to try these out when the weather improves which i might add is a long time coming. Im sure we are all sick of the rain and high winds. Still trying to sea fish through it all but its impossible.
      All the best for now ,
      Steve in Scotland.

      I fished there this October Graeme! My dad and I drifted down the fast flowing Estuary current and we were jigging with Tronix HTO range jigs. I had 2 schoolies and on my first drop down, with the silver 60gram edition, lost a good fish as soon as it hit the bottom, I think it was like a 3Ib Bass? You also get loads of Garfish in Exmouth too. And if you took your Hi-sea drifter there, you could go over to Teignmouth and there is another fast flowing estuary that you can drift out of on the ebb tide and between me, my mum, dad and friend we had like 8 schoolies using just 25g Fiiish Black Minnow lures. they are cracking sport on 20Ib class gear! We also caught Pollack and loads of Mackerel! And on our way over to Teignmouth on our speedboat, I saw about a 40Ib Thresher Shark jump about 5ft out of the water.

    Great Vid as usual guys. Whats your thoughts on the fact that maybe there was bigger Bass out there but they might of been spooked by the floating beads?

    I don't know why people buy those rubber stops, or use the silicone tubing, Drennan power gum, tied in a stop knowing brilliant, you can vary the grip of the stop on the lime, and once you know the knot, never be afraid of a rubber stop falling off and making the rig fish less well!

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  7 років тому

      Don't know if they have a name.They are round plastic and just called what they are..."Pop ups".Try a search engine but put the word "plastic" in or you will just get carp baits.
