Wang has just lost 2 games in this tournament, two right hand penholders 😊, beated Dang 17:1, and Lebrun 11:2. He has played 3 disciplines, and reached all 3 finals. He will be the future number one for perhaps next 3 - 5 years!
The body language says it all. Felix Lebrun looks cautious even deflated from the get go of the match. He did recover in game 2 by being more aggressive. Ultimately, Felix's panholder style looks vulnerable against Wang Chuqin who hits hard and fast. He's still only 17 and is already ranked #6 in the world, so I don't want to sound too harsh on him because he's got potential to grow his game. But reality sets for Felix Lebrun today. There is still a big gap between these two players. It's clear Wang doesn't consider Felix Lebrun as a threat, not yet.
@@ziqiangwang537 unfortunately yeah, the new ball and the current playstyle favors Wang Chuqins game perfectly. its all about power, smashing shots, perfect timing and fearless, flat, fast shots. Penhold in its nature is a more spin oriented game, which the europeans refuse to move away from, so felix is able to dominate them. But against the chinese, who are revolutionizing the sport (not in the way I would like, but it is what it is), he is really struggling to play his spinny, close to the table counters. I don't think he will ever change his grip, since it would mean completely redefining his playstyle, but he will certainly need to find some new tricks or a difference in stroke that will bring more drive and power into his game, rather than using the opponents power.
The gap is even higher than the scoreline shows. Many of Lebrun's lost points were air balls or edge-of-the-racket balls. He's not even getting the face of his racket on them.
At a recent interview of the great Xu Xin, he commented on F. Lebrun that it will be increasingly difficult for him to defeat a Chinese player going forward, due to his pen-hold style, the style of which Xu Xin is a master.
@@michal3141 Xu Xin mentioned his forehand weakness, and his over-reliance on his reverse backhand. If you watched the match, the first 5 points Wang won from Felix were all on his forehand side.
@@michal3141 Xu Xin also mentioned that he takes the ball very early off the bounce to give his opponent less time to react. Usually players who have to do this are players who lack of power and they need to do something different to hide this weakness.
The problem is not, to beat a chinese (obviously it is!). You need to beat multiple of them to get a title. If FZD is beaten, there is still WCQ, MA L, Lin SD, L. JK... Beating all of them is the mission impossible.
Exactly. The old generation of top European players all played in the Chinese league for long periods. The Japanese players trained in China regularly, many of them speak Chinese rather well. The training partner, coaching, competition you get is unparalleled in China. Maybe the Leburns need to spend some time in China too before they take over Boll to become the lead of an effective rebellion.

Felix is certainly an amazing player but people forget about Harimoto who at 15 years old beat the very top chinese players here and there (Felix hasn’t even won against Ma Long’s current aged form). Yeah, Adam is a blaspheme, he should've gotten fired 5 years back
@thundercock2029 They were openly rooting for Timo against the Swede Kallberg
It's normal to be biased in favour of the underdog, just let it go, winning should be the favorite's answer to things.
You must be an European.
@@hillsideonly So you believe in nepotism right?
有顶尖的世界直拍横打宗师王皓坐镇,欧洲指板占不到任何便宜
True😂
cherrr
Felix its too young right now....after 3 or 4 year i thing cant beat anyone
Felix its the next star ....
I agree with you. Consequently, the opponent will be very hard to deal with his service.😅
Скучно, не интересно, одно и тоже, в одну калитку, без шансов и никакого потенциала дальше нет, плюс минус свой максимальный уровень
Penholder played handshake way. He has a wrong system developed and too late to correct. It reaches up limitation already no future. I like Wang gave the kid 1 game very nice.
Exactly, I want to say the same
Sadly agree...
Think same, 1 set gift, for Dang too
'Wrong system developed'.. u nuts? he's nr 6 of the world at age 17 and you? You just suck lol. Besides, these two players played a great match and have respect for each other and neither of them would approve of the nonsense in this comment section. smh
"Scream like a wild banshee after every Chinese point or we'll reduce your social credit score."
What a sore loser.
it was easy for Wang but also with enough resistance. Felix need more attention.
first
THIS ANGLE SUCKS!
Lebrun is amazing but tbh he just reached the semifinals because he had the easiest draw
what do you know bro ? he could win against the other chinese liang in the other semi final (He had a narrow win against timo boll in the quarter)
he would destroy both of the other semi finalist lol , it's the other ways he got unlucky to be paired against the actual best player
ai could do better commentary than the guys rambling bias nonsense
Very boring match
Wow Wang serves illegal and is arrogant.. We are so happy that sb like him win🤫
😅 it is very strange that commentators always but always talk about Felix Lebrun. Wang crushed Felix, wang always crushes him also all number 5 chinese beats him but all they want to talk, is this ever 16 spoiled kid. It is also strange that umpire didnt show a red card to wang as umpires usually do to Lebruns' opponents.
Annoying watching top Europeans choke against Chinese players every time it matters, it's not like they're unbeatable. Awful game from Felix
I don't think you understand how quick and powerful Wang Chuqin really is, the pushes that Felix is doing would normally be effective against other players making it easier for Felix to counterloop with his backhand. Wang Chuqin crushes the ball and covers the whole table really well with his forehand.
Mate, you can't judge felix's game.. He played spectacular... The reason why he lost is because He couldn't adapt to WCQ Service. WCQ Is a bit more experienced that Felix as well.. Before Saying "AWFUL" You cannot win against Felix lebrun
17 years old...
go to play by yourself before judging others
王头继续努力!健康涨球!!
the players from rest of the world should unit and keeping complaining the illegal serve from Wang Chuqin until referees and WTT give reasonable response. It's really unfair to other honest players.
Silly silly!
@@jchanmcse you call your mum?
It's very funny that players who are the ones training and competing are not complaining as much as those keyboard warriors who don't benefit or be worst off if they watch table tennis or not nor would a player's win or lost contribute anything extra to their lives. Lmao players need to train 6 hours a day which is physically and mentally demanding, get scolded by coaches and then gets bash by fans when they lost, you think they would stay silent if they lost a match because of illegal service. Yet keyboard warriors only need to on their computer/TV and enjoy matches for free with snacks and drinks beside them complains so much. Some people really need to get a life seriously
