We had one hiding in the tall weeds at work; I truly never realized just how fast a garter snake can move. 🐍 I live in the mountains and I'm used to seeing a lot of bullsnakes that slither along really slow.... but that garter one can certainly move fast. 😃
Neat video, garden/garter snake ID questions are among the most common that I receive on social media and there can never be too many videos about these harmless little reptiles out there!
I am really enjoying these videos, you're fitting in a nicely composed educational piece into a very tight timeframe, that's not easy to do. There was clear flow of the information and good pacing throughout, this is a very well-produced video in my opinion. Also, I appreciate how all of the b-roll features only the snakes moving around unimpeded, that is rare to see in a wildlife video and it's refreshing to watch, even coming from someone who regularly handles wildlife in my videos. I don't think handling is wrong in any way, I just like to see you guys taking a unique angle with your presentation style. Great work!
Hi buddy, just found your channel. Greatly appreciate the content you've been putting out, and happy to see that you've been doing it for quite some time too. Hope to see more for the future and wish you the best of luck!
My neighbour hate snakes but I so badly wish they would move in. With heavy clay soil and always wet when raining I would need to make a way to want to be here. Last year I seen one with the thought of moving it to my garden. My biggest fear of them around is when time to mow the grass.
I like your work. Comments were closed for your rat snake video, but I wanted you to remind your viewers that even picking up a snake in a park or preserve can get you a ticket. 60 years agothis happened to my babysitter when he wanted to do that samething you do. He paid a fine. I later learned that as an Illinois school teacher he was not breaking the law and could have even captured it to keep in a classroom. Temporarily I hope.
So the Eastern garters in the garden video are female but What about the male Eastern garter snakes they should be in the garden video cause when females are pregnant and have babies what about dads like males they should be here too
Cool my dad collected these in the 80s all the time as pets

Much needed video as I'm sure they've been appearing in people's gardens this year. Great b-roll in this one. Short, sweet, and to the point. 👍
Thanks for the positive feedback!
This was awesome! Such a wonderful display of how awesome these snakes are to have around! 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!

Thanks! Some of the most common snakes are certainly the ones in most need of good PR.

Thanks guys! That was very much intentional, we wanted to show case the snakes doing their own thing in a natural way since it was possible!
What state are you from ? I just found your channel, love your content.
