Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Trevor literally changed universe and timeline and is STILL arguing with Michael
I vote this as the greatest comment of the year.
"c***sucking modders!"
did u take out trevor or nah?
whos trevor
Trevor got a crash course on how to carry a gun, not quite sure if he managed to pass. Anyhow, when it comes to acting, Steven Ogg's Trevor is as good as it gets.
Trevor carrying 4-5 guns like a true GTA protagonist
I'm also carrying a rocket launcher. But I won't tell you how.

Gun :
- always have to carry it around
- may put the enemy on guard
- can get you killed
Pimento Sandwich :
- easy to carry
- Offers the nutrients needed for the job
- It tastes good
This is why people use the sandwich as a secondary in TF2
I whole heartedly agree, pimento on a slightly toasted warm bread with a side of fresh orange juice...mmmm oh I'm in heaven!
Mike must be from SC or Alabama.
Well most guns taste pretty good too
Pimento cheese sucks
I love how no matter what character Steven Ogg plays, we still see him as Trevor.
type casting is a gift and a curse
Simon for me - he did a good job there
I didnt play or watch those other things, so for me he'll always be this guy, the one Saul told to go back to the paintball field.
Once a trevor, always a trevor

Knowing Mike, I reckon he could always borrow one of his guns if Mike needed to.
Really? Take one of his guns? That's special
Mike buys guns from a proper dealer like Lawson who he knew will properly treat the gun and it will work.
@@dyingearth no reason to think Trevor's guns didn't work. he was just shown to be insecure by having so many.
@@jotarokujo5132 If you take anything away from BB/BCS, Mike is rather meticulous about doing jobs. He will not use someone's gun unless absolutely necessary. Ensuring the gun is both clean/untraceable and working. Buying from a professional ensures that.

That's great acting. Watch the body language of all three men. One tall crazy man with something to prove, one big dopey man there for work and one very alert, very dangerous man that doesn't actually care what you think of his pimento sandwich.
Who’s the “big dopey man” and who’s the “tall crazy man”?
@@juanjoyaborja.3054 I don't know what "dopey" means but i'm guessing the dude asking about mike's sandwich is the crazy tall man
More astutely, this tells you everything you need to know about Mike, he is quiet, subtle, intelligent, most importantly he has done his homework. He knows everything about the job in question, he knows about everything the opposition, he knows everything about his competition and he knows everything about pimento cheese and it’s lethal proficiency. He knows if things get out of hand he might have to use that pimento sandwich, but only as a last resort…

This is why Better Call Saul is of the same caliber as Breaking Bad, there are layers of symbolism in every scene. MIke is bringing a Pimento Sandwich for a possible job shows how much Mike prefers to have a sandwich for lunch :)
Bravo Vince!
VRAVO BINCE
I just started season 2 of Better Call Saul and I’m not seeing it as same Caliber as BB, started the series awhile back and walked away due to lack of interest but having else to watch back to it. Its getting better but not like BB that had me hooked early, I hope it continues to get better
The pimento cheese sandwich is actually better than a gun because Mike did his research and knows that he is deathly allergic to dairy so if he were to take and eat his sandwich he'd die.
Didn't you get pinned on the how to make pimento cheese video
@@MrAlien23 i dunno maybe
One of my favorite scenes in BCS. I get a kick out of Mike saying it’s cheese, they call it caviar of the south.
I think the slight grin on Mike’s face from the BB scene is him annoying Jesse a little bit
The "caviar of the South" is actually boiled peanuts. Pimento Cheese is pretty good too, though. Like boiled peanuts it's really easy to make.
This whole scene was a nod to GTA V:
- Trevor and Mike
- 4 players to start a mission
- Trevor somehow holding a lot of guns
and someone who looks like lester as their employer
@@wiry7428 Yeah, and he is the one getting a large payout from it all. Just like Lester.
“We HAVE to have three!”
“No, we don’t.”
Bahaha makes so much sense
I learned how to make a homemade pimento cheese spread after watching this scene and now I eat that sandwich several times a week. Thanks Mike
the cav. of the south!! love it. grew them this year in Canada, actually.
I never had pimento cheese, until BB.
Now, ham is my 2nd choice for a sandwich.
BB/BCS was solid gold... best TV, ever!
Eating a pimento sandwich rn had to look this scene up
How many weeks did it take you to finish eating the entire sandwich and make another one?
Always going to assume this is a GTA V side story for Trevor and his temper just gets him kicked off that small job and that’s that. He goes about the normal story of GTA V
I would definitely have considered keeping those firearms for myself if I was Mike.
That’s why you’re not mike
could be connected to all kinds of crimes.
they just drive home that point way too hard in the series. Mike hates guns. he doesn't need guns. he's just a grumbly wumbly gun hating old tough guy 👴🏻😤
So he can catch a charge for being in possession of firearms that aren’t registered in his name
Most people wouldn't line up to take a half wit's heat when they got pinched with a gun that traced back to crimes they don't even know about. Look at that guy and those guns, those are definitely not clean wepons purchased to be left behind while you take the canolli.
A quality pimento cheese spread is actually quite tasty. Can't blame the guy.
I always liked the big fella's vibe. Seems like a sweetheart
His name is Clarence IIRC and he did have a bit of a sweetheart role in El Camino
Stockholm syndrome because he’s bigger than you and could kill you
This is such a CLASSIC clip, I never get tired of it.
This full scene is probably my favorite from the who BB universe. When Mike takes Trevor's gun, and Trevor comes at him - and pays the price for it - just awesome.
"pays the price for it" i see what you did there
@@SB-od9sl Price was going to pay Trevor, but Trevor paid the price and Price paid Mike instead. Man Mountain over there neither paid the price, nor got paid by Price.
I guess Trevor doesn't like the caviar of the South
every scene is a work of art you can re-watch and re-watch and re-watch and still enjoy it... It just shows how amazing the show is...
"Whatcha packing ?" "Pimento"
By the time Pryce shows up, Mike's already clocked "Trevor" as a loudmouth and a poser who would be a liability. He already knows how he's armed and likely how he'll react to being challenged.
How would he be a liability, and how would he react to being challenged? Not second-guessing you, I'm genuinely curious.
@@danieljackson1272 Might be because he's chatty on top of bragging outright. How he's dressed alone, he does both without opening his mouth. He's just trying too hard to be hard. When he got challenged he couldn't just let it slide, literally talked his way into a bad situation and couldn't handle it.
This scene never gets old

"Beware the old man in a profession where most die young"
Oh Mike packs a gun, he is just not a idiot who tells people what he is packing. I do love the detail after the deal is done that Mike did leg work that the other two men didn't. He knew there was to be not much risk due to nacho doing the deal outside of his crew
Yeah I think he probably has a well concealed piece the whole time in this scene. Cause why not?
You could be minding your business sitting on a park bench eating a grilled cheese sandwich alone but when Mike says I want that pimento cheese sandwich the sandwich will become a pimento cheese sandwich

"Never underestimate an old person on a job where people die young."
Feels like Mike figured out just what kind of guy this is right there, hence the double take. Love it 1:30
Yeah, Trevor can't shut up, can't stand the silence, and he's giving stuff away. Why describe the job? Mike and Man-Mountain either know or, if they don't, then there are all kinds of reasons for Trevor to keep quiet (like what if one of them is an undercover cop). He flat out gives away the identity of the vet, potentially incriminating his fixer. Then comes his theories about race. What does he accomplish with all this? Potentially causing himself a lot of trouble, with no possible upside. So why do it?
I've seen true crime documentaries where the criminal just can't shut up. The police let him talk and talk, and eventually he talks himself into jail, for no better reason than because he can't shut up. That's Trevor. I think Mike precipitated the fight specifically to get rid of someone he realized was unreliable and a loose cannon. The last thing Mike needs are guys who can't keep their mouths shut who know what Mike's up to. That's a danger to him.
The look that both Mike and Man Mountain give when he goes off about "ethnic types"
This scene is an absolute masterpiece!
Trevor Phillips casually teleporting into the breaking bad universe:
Trevor and Mike would make a good duo in gta tbh
Mike didn't carry a gun but he carried 'experience' than both their ages combined 👌🏻
For ages I thought the word "pimento" was just a term for the red stuff that naturally grows in green olives. 😂

IS THAT THE ACTOR FOR TREVOR!?
pretty sure it is
Yes
Yes, I'm quite surprised some people still don't know lmao
Yeah, Steven Ogg
Yeah that’s Steven Ogg
Mike was there first, and probably by a fair bit of time. Like they said in The Wire, "show up early".
He’s also a Marine veteran so he probably remembers the doctrine of being early is actually being on time
This is one of my favourite dialogues of the series. I can watch it on repeat.
I love how they all had their separate entrances
Everyone's talking about steven ogg being like trevor here, but the guy they're working for literally looks and sounds like lester. Oh and of course the old timer's named michael.
It’s not as impressive with Steven Ogg since the game model of Trevor was quite obviously based upon his physical appearance. He’s practically typecasted. But it’s a surprise with Daniel Wormald, since it’s not even the same actor and yet he coincidentally looks and sounds like him.
Mike may not be packing heat, but he is prepared with the pimento cheese sandwiches for the long journey. Priorities!
This is the moment that Mike became a pimento sandwich
This is one of the top scenes from the entire series. And the good news is that Mike has agreed to be my bodyguard.
I like how after they became fast friends and developed mutual respect for each other
This can totally be a cutscene in a gta game
It’s dollar store Lalo
Bravo Vince!
it turned into such a cool scene, i can't believe they cut out the part where he disarms the deuche
That's in another clip.
Hadn't seen this one but watched the heck out of the clip that comes right after.
Amazing scene.
Why did the big guy run off? Mike and he had no issues. Mike even offered him a present.
If a man packs a big enough pimento, he apparently does not need a gun.
I love how mike does the double take at Trevor when starts talking
Mike had to be the smartest person in both shows
This scene just made me realize how good Mike would've been in GTA V, he'd be the only level-headed character in the whole series
It’s too bad they didn’t show the best part when mike tells him “well if I need a gun, I’ll take one of yours and use that” 😂
Mike: Calm, quiet, low-profile.
Man Mountain: Calm, quiet, low-profile
Sobchak: SO, WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT THIS FELONY TRANSACTION FELLAS?
Trevor. His name is Trevor.
"If I need a gun, I will just take one of yours..."
even his first scene looks like a third person camera shot before the transition from in-game to cutscene
This scene reminds me of the scene between Robert De Niro and Sean Bean in the movie Ronin when Sean's character asks De Niro's character what does he use weapons wise.
The scene even opens like the cutscene when you take a mission in GTA.
I'm definitely getting some pimento today. I hope they have my brand 🤞
Little does he know that Mike will have all of his guns in a few minutes.
This is the moment that Mike became a Pimento Sandwich
Man earlier seasons of BCS was so fun to watch
I love when these clips cut off the good part.
2:45 This guy recently visited Ammu-Nation by the looks of things.
"I mean...how do you not carry a gun?" Why is Trevor all of a sudden speaking sense? 🤣
Mike really should have followed through with Hector’s deal. A gun on top of $50,000 is such a good deal it sounds criminal.
He does like this sandwich
Man, Trevor needs his own hot shot little mini series, where everything he does fails but he shrugs it off.
Trevor can recite one half of one amendment and has a big flag on his truck. A true keyboard warrior.
lmao fr, also the 'that's just science' part
"I don't need a gun, I am the gun".
Ok I finally figured out where I saw the actor that plays that snarky guy (the one with all the guns that Mike takes) - he's the guy that double crossed Layton in Snowpiercer.
P.s. Pimento cheese is delicious. I'm not from the south but I went to Charleston a few years back and they had it everywhere down there; I was an instant fan.
Mike is the embodiment of the saying “be careful of old men in a job where men usually die young”
really original comment here buddy, im sure this comment hasnt been posted in 60 other bcs clips involving mike.

Whenever Steven ogg says "so" it reminds me of GTA 5
i guess i have to restart the mission
I think Trevor has a lot more than 2 guns on him…
"whatever you're reaching for better be a sandwich, because you're gonna have to eat it"
Ngl I kind of want to see how Trevor would have interacted with Nacho lmao
Trevor vs vaas lol
I've watched the clip where Mike beats Trevor no less than a couple of dozen times. This is the first time I've seen what came before it. Had no idea there was a prelude.
Mr Simon haha
Mike is such a G, 😂, i know the video with the aftermath is more popular but this scene is just as good

This is the moment the writers made the old guy more badass
anyone notice steven ogg even stands like trevor
"What did our guy tell you about the job?"
"Not much. Except I managed to find out he's making a deal with someone who works for Tuco Salamanca and he wants everything to go smoothly so I didn't need to bring a gun. Just a hunch"
I completely forgot about this scene.
Head canon is this is an alternate timeline Trevor that’s why he has so many guns
pimento cheese and spam....perfect together
Poor guy gets beat up by Mike and Negan.
They should make a movie where Steven Ogg plays the son of a character played by Jack Nicholson. And Mike is like a crossbreed of Bruce Willis, and George Carlin.
My biggest worry was Jonathan Banks may pass before BCS concludes and they may be forced to recast him. Thank God that didn’t happen!!! Mike is probably my second favorite character of the Breaking Bad universe.
Well… Bob Odenkirk almost passed away while filming for Better Call Saul. He said that he “wasn’t breathing” for a few seconds. Thank Christ that didn’t happen.
