Probably more competent than Walt as she actually tried to conceal their identity, give a believable story for how they got the money, went into insane lengths to get the car wash at the cheapest price to make it even more believable. Hell, even the way she got Ted out of his tax evasion problems was genius. Walt didn't care about consequences. He didn't care about coming up with a believable story or how the money was laundered or even if all of his money could be laundered in the first place. He thought his family could somehow keep the money even if he was eventually caught. He wad good in adapting to situations and solving problems by creating collateral damage. Skylar was careful, she looked out for the details and never let her ego blind herself. Too bad she wasn't suited for the criminal life.

He was going about the routine of charming certain people, which is his character, but he definitely was impressed with Skyler's rather shimmering appearance. This should apply anywhere else that complementing other's SO should be so casual as to not get weird or prying. This here is him just complementing a new person he just met. I don't see a problem here needs to end with violently rash reactions.

one of my favorite moments in the show. the awkwardness of such contrasting characters meeting reminds me of Jesse coming over for their family dinner in season 5
i noticed that every time saul makes a joke that no one laughs at, he manages to keep on making it worse and worse in an attempt to fix it, only to awkwardly let his attempt at a joke die down and immediately change the subject. he and i are so alike
the way Skyler transforms herself in personality in this season is phenomenal. She goes from "Skyler the housewife and babymaker" to "Skyler the schemer".

I think Saul actually means it when he calls Hank “An American Hero”. After His run ins with Tuco and Lalo Salamanca, I think he’s glad Hank got rid of two more of them.
Breaking Bad didn’t need Bob Odenkirk as they were phenomenal without him. But for him to come in and IMPROVE an already great show tells you about the quality of the actor and character.
Each and every character of the show makes it what it is today …Saul was phenomenal comic throughout the show and had a salt of maturity and empathy which was revealed as a back story in better call Saul

Saul delivering a much needed comic relief for this series is an understatement. It was necessary with the series being so dark. Such a beautiful character - Saul Goodman.

Ok my dad is a writer for Better Call Saul and he told me Jimmy changes his identity to become Marshall's and Barney's boss in HIMYM and so he learns laser tag from Barney Stinson.
Their interactions are hilarious, but it also makes me sad to see Walt and Skyler constantly underestimate and insult Saul. Not only is he completely loyal, he's literally a magic man who keeps pulling everyone's asses out of the fire.
After watching scenes like this, and after watching better call saul so far, there is no chance that Kim will die in the end of better call saul. It is impossible for jimmy to behave the way he behaves in breaking bad after suffering a huge loss like that. There will be a story behind kim’s disappearance but her death is not happening that I am sure of
I originally thought the inevitable Breaking Bad timeline scenes were going to involve Huell and Saul talking about the ricin cigarette or Francesca and Saul talking about baiting Hank away from the RV. But I can see Kim showing up in the early days of BB before Saul actually met Walt and Jesse.

The entire persona of Saul Goodman was a coping mechanism for Jimmy McGill. It was a way for him to deal with kim breaking up with him. She left him, realizing that both she and him are poison, especially after the events of the BCS episode Plan and Execution. She realizes that its all fun and games until someone gets hurt. In fact, in the episode Fun and Games, we see the complete transition of Jimmy into Saul Goodman, after Kim left him. Kim was the one person preventing Jimmy from going full Saul. In that particular episode, its really depressing seeing Saul in his mansion. In BB, Saul provided comic relief, but it was, as I previously stated, a coping mechanism for Jimmy in dealing with all the pain in his life, such as what happened to his brother CHuck, Howard Hamlin, and Kim leaving him. Kim moved to Florida, as shown in the episode Waterworks, and lives a mundane suburban existence. I agree with your point, however, if she had died, Jimmy could never do what he does in BB.

the more amount of times I rewatch breaking bad the more I like Skyler tbh. She does hold Walt back throughout the story but that’s completely reasonable considering her chemistry teacher husband randomly gets cancer and transforms into a murderous monster in the matter of a year. I grew to like pretty much all the characters in their own way but i think that’s just Breaking Bad being the best show ever made (slightly in front of the Sopranos imo)
In hindsight, this is hilarious. Skyler: "Walt's a respected chemistry teacher and loving father. He'd never be associated with something as ridiculous as owning a laser tag business. He obviously wants to run a car wash."
I feel like Saul starting down the path of a metaphor of jelly bellies and pencils is a superb satire of when he sat with Jesse, mixing cotton balls and q tips. With a young punk he is a lucid and charming voice of reason but before a somewhat accomplished woman, his oratory skills fail him and he becomes a tongue-tied vulgarian. Truly a master's touch.

Its not about hiding, its about what they tell their friends and family as to why they're now millionaires. Skyler is very aware that Walts brother in law is a DEA agent, she needs a story that sounds plausible enough to pass the Hank sniff test.

I originally thought the inevitable Breaking Bad timeline scenes were going to involve Huell and Saul talking about the ricin cigarette or Francesca and Saul talking about baiting Hank away from the RV. But I can see Kim showing up in the early days of BB before Saul actually met Walt and Jesse.
I am thinking the same and it's strange saul never had a photo of kim on his desk.better cl sauld 6th season should take place few years before the first meet with jesse and walt so there must be a grief but instead saul was cheek in toungue and even try to date francesca..

The entire persona of Saul Goodman was a coping mechanism for Jimmy McGill. It was a way for him to deal with kim breaking up with him. She left him, realizing that both she and him are poison, especially after the events of the BCS episode Plan and Execution. She realizes that its all fun and games until someone gets hurt. In fact, in the episode Fun and Games, we see the complete transition of Jimmy into Saul Goodman, after Kim left him. Kim was the one person preventing Jimmy from going full Saul. In that particular episode, its really depressing seeing Saul in his mansion. In BB, Saul provided comic relief, but it was, as I previously stated, a coping mechanism for Jimmy in dealing with all the pain in his life, such as what happened to his brother CHuck, Howard Hamlin, and Kim leaving him. Kim moved to Florida, as shown in the episode Waterworks, and lives a mundane suburban existence. I agree with your point, however, if she had died, Jimmy could never do what he does in BB.

the more amount of times I rewatch breaking bad the more I like Skyler tbh. She does hold Walt back throughout the story but that’s completely reasonable considering her chemistry teacher husband randomly gets cancer and transforms into a murderous monster in the matter of a year. I grew to like pretty much all the characters in their own way but i think that’s just Breaking Bad being the best show ever made (slightly in front of the Sopranos imo)

I feel like Saul starting down the path of a metaphor of jelly bellies and pencils is a superb satire of when he sat with Jesse, mixing cotton balls and q tips. With a young punk he is a lucid and charming voice of reason but before a somewhat accomplished woman, his oratory skills fail him and he becomes a tongue-tied vulgarian. Truly a master's touch.

I love how they're objections are centered around the fact that it makes no sense for them to do laser tag, same with Jesse and the nail salon, which is exactly the point. It doesn't make sense, which means it's the last place people would expect to find them, which buys a lot of time
But they would be filling info on what business it is that they are receiving the revenue from, so it would be on paper and right under the nose of those who chase them! No? Skylar is right, it has to make sense so they don't even have to hide it! What's funny is Saul not pitching the focal point of his laundry scheme out of thin air, those are the businesses that he has direction connection with only.
Its not about hiding, its about what they tell their friends and family as to why they're now millionaires. Skyler is very aware that Walts brother in law is a DEA agent, she needs a story that sounds plausible enough to pass the Hank sniff test.

Further notes on the degree. It's not actually a law degree. It's an MFA in Political Science, not a JD. It is also for some reason, despite being a Master's, conferred by the undergraduate faculty, not the graduate faculty.
I'm thinking that he did not get the required undergraduate degree in Chicago, so in comes Samoa. He likely has other degrees from there. They did mess up the name and a Masters would be unnecessary so I think he just had this one printed at Kinkos. There's a JD on the wall someplace.
