  • Built this custom "Irish Pub" type bar for a client who happen to be at my house fixing my water meter, when he saw mine, and wanted one of his own. Now he does.

    Nice bar set up, gave me a few ideas for what I wanna do. I really like the magnets underneath the bottle opener, clever idea.

    • @KFCustomWoodworks
      @KFCustomWoodworks  3 роки тому

      @@The34bojax unfortunately I did this back before I was making plans. But each bar definitely has different dimensions depending on the room it's going in. You can contact me directly and I'll be happy to send over the info I do have, like where I got certain parts and general sizes etc. Basically help on any way I can.

    Hey! Love this bar and would like to do something like this in my home. Would it be too much to ask for your plans for this build? I’m a little inexperienced and would like to cut down on as many mistakes as possible lol

    love the countertop... I used your concept for the making of my top... picked up the bar rail as well... I think I did mine backwards... I built a knee wall, drywalled it and now I'm not sure how to attach the 1/2 and 3/4 plywood to one another and the knee wall... any ideas? I don't want to tear it apart.. ugh....also how did you attach the bar rail to the plywood? thanks!

    • @KFCustomWoodworks
      @KFCustomWoodworks  Рік тому +1

      HI! Not exactly sure what you mean by "Knee Wall". Do you have access to underneath of the bar top from the back? I actually used two 3/4" plywoods for my top. The bottom a cheap one, and the top a nice Oak one. I used glue and 1 1/4" screws from the bottom to attach the bar rails. If you want to email me, I can send over more detailed info with illustrations on how I did it - kfavakeh@gmail.com

    Very impressive. Its given me ideas for my own. What wood did you use for the top and how did you merge the corning wood together?

    • @KFCustomWoodworks
      @KFCustomWoodworks  2 роки тому +1

      It's oak plywood on top. I merged the corners by mitering with the miter saw then using glue and screws underneath

    Awesome work!!! Was that little vent on the backside toward the end for the mini fridge?? Looking to install one myself but don’t wanna pony up for a more expensive built in model.

    • @KFCustomWoodworks
      @KFCustomWoodworks  3 роки тому +2

      Yes it was! You definitely don't need to buy the more expensive front venting fridges. As long as there's some sort of ventilation out the back. You could even just leave a few inches of space and that's it. But we wanted to push it as far in as possible. So I bought a $15 vent, cut a hole, and created some easy ventilation.

      This was before I started making plans and really keeping track of that stuff unfortunately. But I remember the lumber for the framing, including the oak plywood, running around $300 or so. But this was also before the surge in wood prices. The oak trim on the base, and the arm rails, are a lot more expensive. If you are interested in making one, email me and I'll be happy to send you more precise information to help you out 😊

    Great build! How much did this run you approximately?

    • @KFCustomWoodworks
      @KFCustomWoodworks  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks!!! It’s hard to recall but I’d say around $300 for all the wood needed, including the oak bar top. However, that doesn’t include the arm rails, which had to be specially ordered. Those came to about another $400 or so.

    ignore the name...what did you use to hold down the bar top ?

    • @KFCustomWoodworks
      @KFCustomWoodworks  3 роки тому +1

      Haha...that definitely made me laugh.
      So the top is made of two sheets of plywood that equal to 1 1/2" thick together. So I used 1 1/4" screws to secure the top, from underneath, to the frame of the bar.

    Where did you get the oak slab for the bar top?

    • @KFCustomWoodworks
      @KFCustomWoodworks  3 роки тому

      It's not an oak slab. It's actually just oak plywood, laid onto another sheet of plywood. You can actually see me doing it in the video.

      So for this particular bar, if you are referring to the bar top, the length of the long side of the "L" shape was 7.5 ft long while the short side was 5 ft. The depth of the top was 24". While the height of the whole thing was 42" (standard bar height). Hope that helps 😊
