I remember you did a similar video in the past; this one is good also. I just think of sample values input and sample values output. If there's no change, the lines of the transfer function(s) are diagonal (45°); that is: output = input. If you change the shape of the line(s), then an input value will result in a different output value. That's pretty much it. The cool thing about the bitwig saturator is that it can do so many things.

I've tried using the saturator device for parallel processing but was surprised to see that unlike simple saturation/clipping, this plugin can introduce phase issues. I think it's because of the filtering applied to the saturated signal. So now I usually use it at 100% wet.

Filtering affects the phase of the signal. you could try using it with the filter knob turned all the way down/off. I haven't personally experimented with using the saturator in parallel.

@@TheWilliamSnfrd yeah that works well. I’ve been using the saturator with the filter off often this week, as far as I can tell it’s acting just like a simple clipper. Very nice!

Didn't know that I needed a refresher, but I did! Great idea to use a DC offset device to explain it :) Thanks!

"I'm a musician not a technician". Bra, I've seen what you can do in the Grid. I think the Saturator is a little bit intimidating to most users due to the additional knobs unlike conventional saturators. I'm just curious, why use the Saturator when with Transfer you can just draw the curves?
