You can't trust anyone's word with these vehicles because the ODO follows the gauge cluster, not the car. Needless to say I called the guy out on it and he swore he had no idea.

Love that sound. I have an 06 with an H-pipe and Flowmaster Super 44s. This is the first setup that I've heard that even compares. Nice, deep throaty growl that doesn't pop. Great job! 😎

Of course it was quieter because all he had on it was those lame Borla mufflers... If he'd had a full Borla S-Type Cat-Back exhaust like I currently have on mines it would have sounded better but good shit 👌🏽💪🏽
I was at dodge store in Greenville about 6 years ago. I’ll never forget this guy had one just like this. When he crunk it up. I wanted to take it from him 🤣🤣🤣
@@CJColvin You are correct and no debate about it, but I still would take this Aussie rendition of a Pontiac over an EV or mustang. But even the original GTOs shared a lot of chassis bits from other GM divisions.

Lord knows this was/is better than the GM econo boxes with extra cladding! I'd sell my wife's left kidney for a 60s GTO, but decided the safer bet was to get a 4th gen TA. 🤷♂️ Yes, it has the corporate LS instead of a Poncho motor, but still makes good noises!
@@harrishustle it’s not a catback system. A well known muffler shop in Houston retro fitted me a set of mufflers onto my GTO because there wasn’t a system made specifically for the GTO and i wanted the atak.
They make a few less hp, at WOT, on a 1000hp engine. On this making half the hp, not at WOT most of the time, it's not restrictive at all. It's not a Thrush Turbo which is about the worst "performance muffler" you can buy.

The older muffler test on the 500-ish hp engine, that was closer to what you'd see on a common street car. The Thrush Turbo made 529hp, and the Cherry Bomb Salute (one of the cheapest Borla copies) made 560hp, and that's a difference you'll feel on the street and it'd be a bigger difference the higher in power you go. That's about a 5% increase from the restrictive Thrush to the straight through Cherry Bomb. So basically the difference between 2 straight through mufflers like these is negligible in an application like these. The ProXS is made for keeping the sound mild but not being restrictive, he should've gone for the S-type, Atak or XR1 if he wanted a loud Borla.

That may be a large bore, but that's just not the SOUND of a V8. No way. The true V8 makes a lope and a rumble that's just unmistakable. That's a V6 sound, no doubt. This video may fool a "piker", but not someone who's owned 3 '60's GTO's back in the day. 😉
One comes with shorty headers from the factory and an X pipe, the other has a 2.75” down pipe with restrictive cats everywhere. I have a goat. I love it but the coyotes usually are louder
Actually, Pontiac didn't make the GTO. Holden made the Monaro. GM brought it over and rebadged it as the GTO. And the car definitely isn't trash. The interior had all the bells and whistles to give it some luxury, and it was easily modified by simple bolt-on parts to make it go faster. It was the best bang for the buck out there, hands down.
The 04-06 GTO wasn't even a Pontiac, it was a rebadged Holden Monaro from Australia. Had the 04-06 GTOs had retro styling with modern performance then not it would've sold like hotcakes but it would've also saved Pontiac as well.
@@CJColvin Poor marketing by GM. It was never meant to be a flagship car for GM. It was a fill-in while they were waiting for the Camaro to come out. Ford already had the Mustang and Dodge had the Charger. GM was a few years away from releasing the Camaro, so the brought over the Monaro because it had more HP than both Ford and Dodges base models. The downfall was they didn't want to over market it because it was running the same engine as the Corvette. My '06 had 400hp stock.
I wish pontiac was still here today, because i really miss their two models so much which is the GTO and the G8 to be honest
