Guaranteed that car was a younger guy's first "hot rod". He used parts with names he's heard his grandpa talk about like Jasper. I only say this because I'm an old school truck guy who would do the same thing. I like carburetors, peanut port iron headed big blocks and 15" rims. I haven't kept up with these new fangled LS engines everyone loves. Don't get me wrong, I love them too I just know more about carburetors and points. I love channels like this that tear down, repair or build. I learn a lot from you guys. Respect
I wished Pontiac would have done like ford did with the mustang and when they brought back the Challenger. It was a updated version but still had the 1960s resemblance to them. If Pontiac would of done that with the GTO who knows maybe Pontiac might still be in business.

I wanna say just bcuz I know how the ppl is on RVA I wanna say either this car was stolen or was pulled over n ppl had drug n stuff in it n was running from police. I almost wanna bet that's what happened lol
Looks like a GMM rip shifter with a Lou's short stick. I'm baffled as to why a smaller trans was installed...if not the original tailshaft wasn't reused.
Car ‘looks’ clean. But my guess is, maybe not in a major accident but, smacked something and damaged miscellaneous things that were replaced with parts from another car. Curious about this one… and I’m not even a GM guy 😂
@@scraplifegarage .. I can only tell you because I had to get mine rebuilt and thought it was a regular t56.. But apparently the back housing is different.. It's longer to relocate the shifter back..
Yall wrong... it's just missing the factory shifter/plate..that sits on top of trans.. once removed for a aftermarket shifter this is how the trans tunnel will look.
I am a ford guy through and through but these are really cool cars imo. Very nice and it's a shame they didn't have em in the US longer than 3 model years.
@@AlexSanchez-tr5fu I can see that the shape of them sort of looks like that when stock but with some beefy wheels and tires and some lowering they look pretty mean.

I didnt do the stupid brakes, the stupid badges or anything. That car was badass and clean as a pin when i had it. i sold it to a guy in VA and he sold it to a auction site. i put a trans in it, clutch, heads cam, harrop cover with hendrix brace, all kinds of stuff. please PM me i absolutely loved that car

Sounds great. Can’t beat the sound of a Cammed V8
I would never stand under car on that lil forklift. Hydraulic line bust and you are squished like a bug
Ive seen them tip over. That was incredibly dumb to stand under one.
Congratulations can't believe you used a fork lift lol subscribed

This video really makes you all appear to know very little about gtos
It's definitely a GTO trans with a rip shift lol

That may be accurate. It may have been more well received if there was more of a resemblance.
I for one am glad it is the way it is. I get to have a holden Monaro here in the US lucky me!
True they could’ve done what they use to by rebadging the Camaro. The company trans am depot did it and they look good.

As an Australian I have to say it hurts seeing these Cars being taken apart like this!
cant believe you had that gto blue interior sitting like that
Damn that a solid build
So you got a Australian Holden Monaro coupe
Damn I want one so bad. I wish I saw this sooner and any chance you have a 2006 GTO laying around
What company in VA that's like carvana?
Suck out dot 3 with a Turkey baster from clutch reservoir clean replace a few times after driving the 1 time per month

It’s not an original tail shaft
I have a 2004 GTO and looking for a one piece drive shaft
It's just lacking the GTO
offset shifter rail
I have a 06 as well but the 06 model doesn’t have an ls1
Yup 2004 had ls1 05-06 was ls2.

Don't recognize tyler from the few newer episodes I saw. Did he get fired for wearing capris?
Nope he moved on to start his own business!
Thats just aftermarket short shifter
Ahead of it’s time.. 400hp in 06’ 😤😤
The z06 had 405 in 02…

First thing we do once we unload em. We always check. Just didn't make it into the video.

Thats a gro trans thats just a different shifter
How could I get the steering column with key
you will need the ECU also. these ECUs are impossible to reprogram. and are connected to key.
I need a rear passenger side quarter panel for a 2004 gto
Give Mars Auto a call, they are located in eastern Ohio.
That’s one bad ass gto
I live in California. It sucks to be a gear head and live in California.
I almost bought this from the original seller for 4k it was cobbled together and beat...
Accurate description of how we got it!
That’s an Australian build car, we called them a Holden Monaro, and exported them to America.

04 is the only year for the ls1. 05 and 6 both had the ls2
