It sounds like a mid-late 90s style, but it came out like 10 years before all of that stuff! Great omni-talented monster, Mel Brooks.

Co-written, produced and largely played by Pete Wingfield (fantastic Minimoog solo) who also produced Five Star in the b80's (well, the records were good!). One of the more genuine people in the music biz in my experience.

Seriously underrated track and not very well known which is sad because it's really awesome, I have this on vinyl and it sounds awesome.
Mel had to have been 50 here. It was 1983, 4 years after the first rap single, and a guy that old knowing what rap even was that early on is really impressive, especially since he'd been in show business for a long time at that point.

IT was a Remake of the First movie at the beginning of the 40ies, during WW2 in Black and white with Elliot Ness - Robert Stack. It was also a wonderful comedy.
