I ran into Chris at the start of a hike this past May long weekend at one of our Provincial Parks. A genuinely great guy and really appreciative of the fans. I kept it short as he was with Family. To my surprise, at the end of the hike He came up to me and kept on with our conversation, reminiscing about St James parties and playing Sunday shows at The Albert. He even invited us to join them at one of the nearby beaches for the afternoon. Sadly, I went to the wrong beach. No matter. It made my month. I've always been one degree separated from meeting them on many occasions. You're next Jord!

what!? Since when do Propagandhi sound like this!? I'm used to their early punk stuff! Definately giving all their newer material a listen! Thanks heaps for reigniting my interest in this awesome band 😃
I bought a used vinyl of this album on a whim sometime around 2011 for $5 because the cover was awesome. I knew of Propagandhi during my teenage years when how to clean everything came out. I thought it was ok but I was a huge metal head so I never really got into the band. Putting this record on and listening to this song as the opening track for the first time blew my fucking mind. It was really awesome to see you hear it for the first time because it brought back memories for me feeling the exact same way. Supporting Caste is an album I still listen to all the time to this day. It's my favorite Propagandhi album, and definitely in my top 10 albums of all time. I'm telling you right now this album, failed states and potemkin city limits will blow your mind. Just wait until you hear supporting caste, without love and last will and testament. Supporting Caste is arguably their best album, though I love them all and have since like 1994. I'm excited for you to keep getting your mind blown. One of the greatest bands ever.
They opened with this song in Houston after not playing there for 20 years. It. Was. Insane. A poor guy dislocated his shoulder within 10 seconds. Anyway, this video made my day. Seeing someone enjoy this song for the first time is absolutely magical; I was grinning the entire video. Thanks for uploading this! Can't wait to do this deep dive into your content
Propagandhi is by far my all time favourite band. Soo fucking good. This my second favourite album of theirs. Potemkin City Limits is #1. Anything from Today's Empires; Tomorrow's Ashes and after is pure fire. As soon as The Rod joined, they changed for the better. A lot of bands evolve over time, and I'm not always there for it, because it's not what I fell in love with; however, this band's evolution is in a class of it's own. Perfection in my ears.
Todd their bassist is also a crazy good artist. He's painted a few of their album covers, i'm not 100% certain if the cover for supporting caste was him, but the back art for sure was.
The first time you said it, I wasn't sure but after the second time I'm fairly certain you said "Supporting Castle". Love the videos and hate to correct you, but it's Supporting Caste. Can't wait to see you do more Propagandhi.
i find it really interesting that you think Chris and Todd have similar voices! For most of the band’s history, the contrast between the two of them (in their songwriting as well) has been part of what makes Propagandhi so compelling. But Todd has much less of a presence on Victory Lap (only sings/wrote When All Your Fears Collide and Nigredo) because he was going through a lot of personal/family stuff during writing and production. He also sings with a lot less of his trademark snarl on that album. But i think as you listen through all of Supporting Caste, you’ll start to see how the two singer dynamic works together to make Propagandhi such a unique band. Really glad to hear you’re gonna check it out! Have fun!

My all time favourite band, what a treat! Ths whole album is incredible, Dear coaches corner, without love, last will and testament, Sander Katz... all impeccable.
what!?
Since when do Propagandhi sound like this!?
I'm used to their early punk stuff! Definately giving all their newer material a listen! Thanks heaps for reigniting my interest in this awesome band 😃
Yep! Starting from around Today’s Empires, they went more thrash and more prog. You’ve got some good albums ahead of you!
Basically by the year 2000 they where a thrashy, technical, melodic punk band not the simple punk band from the early 90's
Since John K Samson left, honestly. It started taking that turn pretty quickly.
Yes! I can only hope this means that this album is gonna be on the next full album poll?! 😅😊
Absolutely. 😇
Great news, just saw that the band is currently in the studio recording a new album. Patreron review when it drops??
My god I love PROPAGANDHI!! Best live show ever, so technical. Hopefully they go on tour again soon 🔥🔥🔥
I Spy, Todds' previous band, should be added to the list.
This will be your favorite band or close to it.
Oh, FUCK yes!
Supporting Cast(e) is my absolute favorite album of theirs. It's insane, start to finish. Tertium Non Datur is an absolute rager
I feel so attached to Francis and want to be his friend. Ugggggghhh.
That pig didn't GIVE A FUCK about the rollbacks!
These guys are great. Funny though, every time I listen to the older stuff I am amazed that they are not bigger. They built something special.
This channel is rad. Great bands!
This whole album is an absolute masterpiece! And those first two tracks are as good a start to any album I have ever heard.
Dude, every time I hear Propagandhi I get fucking chills and I’ve been listening to them for 16 years.
My favorite Propagandhi song, thank you!
Hell yes! Great song. Banger of an album. Amazing.
They are amazing live.. seen them at least 3-4 times in my lifetime.
You’ve covered two Canadian legends. Now you need to view some SNFU.
I’d suggest either Rusty Rake or Big Thumbs
One of my fav bands since the 90's
Definitely one of my favourite of their songs
I love that you gave props to BTBAM. They and Propagandhi are 2 of my top 3 favorite bands!
Been listening to them since the early 90s. They keep getting better and better
Hell yeah!! And today they just posted that they're recording new stuffs 😊
Music is a kind of art. Most people that are good musicians are good at other forms of art.
@JustinLesamiz Kent Monkman painted this one, but Todd painted Failed States and I believe the Victory Lap cover as well.
The first time you said it, I wasn't sure but after the second time I'm fairly certain you said "Supporting Castle". Love the videos and hate to correct you, but it's Supporting Caste. Can't wait to see you do more Propagandhi.
Such a great song from the greatest band. Near the end "...on fire with war" it's like the music becomes rhythmic like machine guns firing. So good.
This is amazing!
i find it really interesting that you think Chris and Todd have similar voices! Have fun!
Such a underated so good so many good albums and songs
This song was a new chapter in the quality of their song writing. Complete masterpiece.
