- We unbox, install, and do a 🔥GoPro sound video🔥of the OEM air scoop and than the newly installed downforce air scoop. After reading so much hype about it, I felt it would be a nice modification to our NSX. We picked up the Downforce scoop from Science of Speed in AZ and arrived quickly. The ah ha moment is when you hit full throttle with the new scoop. The sound is awesome!

awesome vid keep them coming. I'll try to add this to mine as well
Mr Mags thank you! If you have any questions let me know.
WOW I did not expect that much of a sound difference! It sounds so much better with that on, like how it was supposed to sound from the start!
Thanks KP! It makes such a difference in full throttle.
Thanks for walking through both the process and the outcome-it’s very helpful.
It was a fun process overall. Thank you for comment and for watching the video.
Good stuff David,i got vid coming up with the scoop on the track with a few more angles, the sound is intense
That sounds cool! I look forward to seeing the video.
What’s up my dude.... the car sounds great with the new mod, can’t wait to drive it
Thanks Angel!
OEM air intake is one of the best designs, it flows great. In fact it's almost impossible to beat it, sound however will get improved. Downside: filter element will gets dirty much sooner, keep that in mind. Also, this is not SOS part, made by Downforce, sold by SOS.
Filter gets dirty sooner...THAT, is good to know! 👍🏾
Thank you Roman for the detailed comment. I appreciate and I will keep an eye out on the filter.
Based on the info provided I cleaned and oiled my filter. It needed it! 👍
Great video and comparison!
Thank you John! We really appreciate it.
Sounds awesome!!!
Own a 97. I found I got a nice change in sound going from the stock air filter to a K&N. I don't like this one because without the baffles you could get water and other debris up into the intake. I know we don't generally drive put NSX's in bad weather or bad places but over 25 years I have run into some heavy rain and deep puddles.
I can see how that can be an issue. I have had my downforce scoop for a few years I think, and it is holding up well. But you are right, I do not drive in rain often and if I did, I would also consider weighing that factor in keeping it installed.
Very well done video. As for the scoop, with a funnel into the air box, I'd be worried about getting caught in the rain and the possibility of hydro-lock. I never plan to drive in the rain but I suppose anything is possible. Your video is very thorough though. One of the best I've seen of this type.
Thank you very much. I really appreciate the kind comment. I also have the same worry about the rain but I think the way the design is and the filter itself there, it would require a long drive to warrant a bigger concern. Thanks for watching the video!
Since an engine is basically a vacuum cleaner, it's part of the intake. More cool air might add a few HP, but the vacuum process is usually limited by the valve area. Forced air anyone?
Thank you Mark for that explanation and for watching the video.
How's the fitment? Does it bulge any in the wheel well liner?
It’s a close fit. It touched the liner and if you fit it right it should be a slight touch. It requires some adjustment to make it perfect. Takes some work and if your using the OEM filter then it’s not worth it.
@@DriversTherapy Thanks for the honest review! I enjoy your videos. Cool to know that you were in the Army as well.
@@esqu1re thanks! What was your MOS?
@@DriversTherapy Still in! 27A
So how would you describe the sound now? Deeper? Louder? It’s great that you did the before and after video but normally everything sounds much more pernounced in person.
NSX Fever 95 the sound is awesome when full throttle. Big difference in VTEC. Sounds deep and has that rumble intake sound. At lower RPMs there is a slight difference but not much.
Driver's Therapy cool thanks for the info. I am always looking for good future mods 👍
NSX Fever 95 I think you should give it a shot. Easy to uninstall if you don’t like it. Also, easy to sell. The only drawback is I hear the air filter gets dirty faster.
Sweeeeet
Thanks Sean!!!
anyone knows if it's a fiber glass part ? is the inside rough or smooth ?
It is some type of fiber part. It is kinda smooth but mostly a fiber surface.
@@DriversTherapy thanks for your confirmation ;) I've received one, but I've found out it's a copy... I'll keep it then.
