The Honda NSX might very well be the most famous Japanese car to come from the early 90s JDM boom in the United States. The Honda NSX's aluminum construction and supercar looks made it a wildly popular car. Even if the 6 cylinder engine was often thought to under perform. Especially in comparison to higher horsepower models such as the Supra and Rx7. The Honda NSX rarity and aluminum construction make it very difficult to fix in this day and age.
This particular Honda NSX is heavily modified. Sporting a complete aftermarket turbo setup with supporting mods as well. But, unfortunately, over 10 years ago this Honda NSX was wrecked on a simple drive to work in the rain one morning. A friend of mine bought this Honda NSX and has been storing it in his garage ever since! After a decade of hounding him, I was finally able to get my hands on this Honda NSX. Now, its time to see how hard of a repair this is going to be!

This NSX has been sitting in the background. Couldn't wait for you guys to work on it. PLEASE SAVE IT!
Wrecked 10 years ago and didn't even get started on fixing it, great find
My guess is that he/they know the original owner.
A NSX is a true gem. People don't appriciate these enough. Those things are fast and when in good condition pretty nice!
Literally everyone appreciates nsx’s what are you talking about lol
@@Waveito2not everyone, because Honda lawnmover hurrdurr view of some people. Or because it ain't a german car if you're from Europe, the BMW/Mercedes fanatics out here will swear everything not BMW/Merc is pure dogshit, it's strange but I meet these guys so commonly that they even refuse to aknowledge anything unless it's atleast a german brand.
That Nissan with the viper motor is so outrageous MY GAWDDDDD !!!! Please finish that !!!!!
What viper motor?
@@wilfredocaban3542 go to 17:14
@@wilfredocaban3542i think theyre talking about the s14 viper swap that this channel has lol
@@darrne7747 I know about S14 I thought I missed something.
Bro I've been waiting since he started it, I'm about to just unsub cuz he's never gonna finish it at this point 😂😂
The best guys and attitude on the internet.
That 'Elite' sticker on the windshield is from a shop in Laurel, MD.
This is going to be such an awesome series! Insanely hyped for this. Keep up the good work
I wrecked my Fiero and went through a much more mild version of this. I can't wait to see where this goes, very exciting. I'm jealous of your NSX
Im so stoked for this build to be done.. and its good to see you again... Can't wait to see it done. Love all you guys videos....
Dude! So excited to see this! The period correct spoon wrist sweat band over the reservoir brought me back
In Australia (where I am) I’m pretty sure this would be a “statutory write-off” and could never be registered again. So glad you guys can restore this 90’s hero to former glory
WHAT?!?! You’re not taking the Lee approach and buying 10 NSXs to fix 1 😀 Good stuff! Thanks for sharing!
19:06 love the content as always mate and can’t wait for more work on the viper powered Nissan but as someone that worked in the aviation industry for a long time time i can tell you that you really need to wear a respirator when cutting resin infused carbon fibre.
Cheers Pat 🇦🇺
One of My Favorite all Time Exotics! Looking Great already, Nice Work!
YES!!! This one is a keeper! One of the best Honda pieces of engineering ever! No disappointments once it's done ✅! Congrats! 💯🗽🇺🇸
Can’t wait to see this on the road
Always loved the look of these. NSX
A real JDM super car
Keep up the great work
Got to say I love how you all work on different cars. And give new things a. Go
There is a front cut on eBay from Japan !!!!
Very cool project! Can’t wait for the next video in the series.
I found the car I bought 3 years ago had also spent a decade in the garage, the mileage, the service checkbook and all the stickers on the car agreed to each other.
Runs now since 3 year as (this year's) 30-year old Youngtimer in original design, and when the load is low, it is even allowed to go for it on the german autobahn. Top was 130 mph - anything else than full throttle. Does not produces too much additional wear in 5th gear.
And when I have with such an old car a mileage of 26 mpg, I do not stress it too much.
Guys absolutely love the channel and all your insane projects. You guy's don't get the UA-cam and internet props that you deserve but just know that we salute you 👊🏾
Dude massive undertaking! Major respect for taking this on.
TJ Hunt just did a NSX with front end damage an it also sat for years , his turned out great .
Tjs wasn't nearly as bad as this one tho
I am very interesting in seeing you rebuild this NSX back to it's former glory! Cool!
I'm looking forward to this one. I absolutely loved these cars!
The joy of being able to skip threw ads in a video. Love it. Last time I looked at one of these it had a engine in it, didn't know Honda made a electric motor back then.
Great content brother!
I knew once you guys got everything sorted it would fire right up, Honda arguably makes some of the best, if not the best, engines in the game.
What a great car ! What a great job ! Carbon parts are just superb on such gem ! I will wait for the next episod !
Keep saving them you guys are amazing
I don’t understand why, can’t explain it but one of my favourite rebuild/vehicle channels.
Because they have a great attitude and do amazing work, that’s why!
One of my favorite cars of all time. Looking forward to the next video!
This dude says logic prevails standing infront of a viper swapped 240!! 😂😂
You know your limitations so now it is off to your hired gun, that is smart. You did very good with the frame pull. It was quite ingenious using 2 forklifts straps and physics. Who says you don't use your geometry from school? A nice episode indeed. I'm looking forward to part 2. And yes the full gas tank saved you lots of grief. There was little space left to allow the gas to break down. I suspect the residue is varnish left over from the gas that did go stale. You were very wise in your approach to starting the engine for the 1st time. When this car is done it will turn heads because it is in very good shape for a car this old. Congrats on your persistence.
Great video editing for getting at the solution. Surprised when you whipped out the CF bodywork but you do sound like Zac Brown.
Used to race this in the need for speed (1) game! Can’t wait to see you guys put it back on the road! 🎉
Treat her good brotha 🤙 one of my dream cars!
Great work done ❤❤❤
cant wait to follow this journey!!
new subscriber glad to be here ,this is a very very special car and being a massive F1 fan and especially Senna ,NSX and Senna go hand in hand
Assuming you are going to opt for a custom-fabricated front frame rail and radiator support, these would be the parts and brackets you will need to attach the panels together and ensure the hood sits properly. I'm sure you guys already know this, but just in case. Also, I would check the integrity of your passenger side Pivot Assembly Front Compliance as it should sit flat under the front rail and is not the case here, just a thought. best of luck!

Sou admirador este tipo de trabalho.....recuperar um veículo deste porte....sou fã de veiculo esportivo. ..parabens pelo belíssimo trabalho de vcs.....
Brilliant stuff, love it 🙂
NSX content! Loving this build already, especially since rebuilding wrecked ones is prob the only way most of us even have a prayer at owning one. Can't subscribe, cause I already am!
Awsome build series 👌
What a challenge! I remember reading when the NSX was released would be a difficult job with body repair being aluminum structure. This would require repair done by shop experienced repairing structure with special welding technique. With use of carbon fiber pieces would be less difficult repair but I am person that knows nothing about body repair. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
I love that the V6 sound on an NSX sounds the same as my 2006 Honda Minivan. Now ima supercharge it with a kit and get that performance
Try using washers / spacers under the fenders to line the body line up with the hood and doors. Many cars use them from the factory. Cheap and easy. Plus it’s a great way to stay in shape.
Nice Project 👌🏻🏁
I’ve been seeing it on the lift. I can’t wait 👍🏽
My NSX has a old turbo system that uses Aerocharger turbos . They have their own integ. oil system , no oil feed or return lines to engine. Runs at 10 lbs max boost. Make sure there is screens infront of those i/cs , the road debris will erode them.
Yaaaas. Teej just finished his and I need moarrrr.
Cool car. Great work
Love the nsx..... one of my dream cars
Of course it started. It's a Honda. Sounds great! I think you can make it like new again! I would! That Carbon front end is going to be sweet!
I’ve been peeping this car for the past few videos very excited about it.
So all the bended and cut away steel is still available at Honda?
My absolute DREAM CAR!!!! YESSSSS!
Nice man can't wait! Also why is there just an engine block chilling in the air lol @24:41
I was wondering if anyone would notice. I will find out Tuesday 😁
@@scraplifegarage Nice keep us posted :D
Hello, good thing about the video is you can use it as a reference when reassembling.
The gas tank reminds me of myself after a hard night of partying.
Can't say I am a fan of these cars, but definitely an interesting build. I restore 60s/70s cars and I'd gladly take fuel like that vs what I have had to deal with. They always said old gas smells like turpentine but I never smell turpentine to say if that's true lol
Does Honda sell replacement body panels for the NSX?
Still awaiting for the Nissan Viper 240SX, Can't wait to see the Nissan!
Hi im new here you do owesome work congrats sal.
The most important that the engine run without issue after, because the damage after the crash can be reserve some surprise after good luck
Beautiful car!!!
LET'S GOOOOO, MY FAVORITE CAR 😫😩
You really should have pulled it before removing parts.
Don't know why you wouldn't lube the cylinders up prior to cranking
I am excited for this. I would say Brent from PFI Speed is the man to get with on the NSX!
Always loved the NSX.
Hang on to all the small pieces. TJ Hunt just finished one and he ran into issues with finding parts...hard to come by.
This man's face when he pronounces "Car" irritates my soul. 😂
I got the same turbo kit on mine
I Pulled out the stupid 3.8l v6 in my 02 catfish z28ss Camaro that someone had swapped previously from the original 5.7L ls1 and I slapped in an bmr ls tubular kmember, and built an 5.3 bored to a 6.0 with billet internals and twin pro chargers gen3 ls engine for it 4 years ago and still haven’t installed it yet lol
omg , an actual smart repairer , none of this " lets hook a battery up and see if it will start after sitting for a decade ", no , he said "many things have to be looked at and inspected before we even think of trying to start it !"
Need an update on V10 ❤
Gold
I just bought a wrecked Mustang with the whole front end impact bar/ radiator support gone bc these videos make it look way easier than it probably is. Wish me luck bc it’s my first rebuild 🥲
Hey how long since this NSX ran?
How much did it cost to get it from coparts
There is something special about this car. Do not fuck it up
Bro it's already wrecked...
@@drivewaymarvels311 🤣 ok fine. You win.
Do you know how sick a hellcat swap would be?
Yes's definitely
Thought this was your channel leeC. In any case gd idea brother.

Are you going single or twin turbo?
was literally just checking too see if there are any new uploads... but who is this guy?
How many years has it been it been since it ran? Not sure if it was mentioned. Love da car
Finally a dope car
Cool car
love copart nice nsx
TJ Hunt just rebuilt an NSX, might be able to give some info in all the braces and stuff that's needed
My dad always said: “if man built it, man can repair it” worst case scenario tube frame the front 🤣
Love it!!!
Totally love your projects. Dalton please don't give in to wearing Lee's Goofy Ass shop shoes... hehe
My '91 Accord definitely had a drain plug on the fuel tank, so...when trying to change-out the fuel pump (which did not have an access from inside the car, but the sending unit did...ugh), I had drained all its fuel into one of those Rubbermaid containers you might put shoes in under your bed, and was pushing it down the hallways of my apartment building...until someone called the fire dept.
Very cool.
I want to see the demon cat again 😂
New drinking game . How many times you say it’s been siting for ten years lol
Thanks for letting me know I definitely do not fit in one of these cars. Also, new merch idea... Forklift Frame Repair LLC
@8:22 no Dalt, it's 10 years old.
