As a narrow-footed mild overpronator, I'm loving the Hyperion GTS 2. Where the Adrenaline GTS 23 felt 'dull' to me and took too much energy out of my run, the Hyperion is snug, nimble and just subtly directs my foot the right way. The midfoot feel of the Flash foam feels exactly like it's described in the video: it's responsive, yet not harsh/firm. Being a lower end intermediate experience runner, I don't have much of historical comparison to bank on, but for me this shoe is just fun & fast. I'm a couple of weeks in with the shoe and I have found that I need to add a second shoe to my rotation: I'm starting to feel my knees too much and I'm guessing that it's the energy return that is causing this. I find it difficult to throttle back my speed and direct the sole response towards my forward motion, rather than into the knee (vastus medialis / patella or thereabouts). Probably not an issue for those of you with more experience and more developed upper leg muscle. I consider it a "growing pain" and definitely not a reason to discard the shoe - if anything, for me it delivers everything that was promised and a bit more.
A very informative video on Brooks shoes, especially on the development / tech side on the Brooks Hyperion line. Thanks a lot & well done to Team Doctors of Running for bringing us this video. Also thanks to Tina from Brooks too!
This was a really good discussion. I enjoy informative shoe talk without any over the top marketing statements by company reps. Well done ladies, I learned a lot.
Great video. I have the Hyperion Max 2s and they are my favorite shoe ever. I really liked the Hyperion Max OG. I use the Max 2s for daily training and some higher tempo work. I've really become a fan of Brooks and how they fit my feet. I just ordered the Hyperion GTS 2 for higher speed work and the Cascadia 17 for trails. I'm not sure if I'll ever move off from Brooks (I even wear the Ghost and Ghost Max for work as a nurse). I may get the Hyperion Elite 4, but no other carbon plated shoe has worked well for me and I tend to stick to short races.
The Ghost Max would be the PERFECT shoe if it weren't for so much TOE BOX SPACE! It needs to be designed a little more like the Glycerine where the top toe material part of the shoe comes down a little and hugs the front of your foot some more! There's just simply too much space in there for me and i thought i had a wide foot and only bought mine at the regular 2(d) width! Does anyone else feel this way?? The shoe just doesn't hug the top of your foot enough and leaves you with this awkwardy too much space unsure feeling! tighten the front of the shoe up please Brooks, however you can achieve this! Would honestly love to know if anyone else feels this way about these shoes. Thanks!
Trying to understand something and hoping Andrea or someone could shed light on this. There was a lot of talk about the Hyperion Max 2’s stability and loading the big toe, but Matt said in his interview there’s medial bias. Does that mean over pronators will end up experiencing some fatigue here in the midfoot, and essentially improperly load the Achilles, is the stride still guided somewhat, or? I take it Matt is a heel striker, is that the case with Andrea and does this affect the inherent stability of the shoe? Thanks so much.
Thank you for a great video DOR. I really love the Hyperion Max which is my daily running shoe as well as 10 km - 21,1 km competition shoe. Is is correct understood that Hyperion 2 is closer to the current Hyperion Max than the new Max 2?
So confusing. Your guess is as good as mine. Is the new Hyperion 2 the replacement for the old Hyperion Max 1, which was the replacement for the Hyperion Tempo??? She seems to imply no, but form & function seems to refute this. And is the new Hyperion Max 2 their new foray into the plated super trainer world like the Endorphin Speed? But then what does 'Max' have to do with up-tempo running & speedwork??? Brooks' lineup IS INSANELY CONFUSING for consumers! I TOTALLY disagree with the Brooks product manager's assertion the company has built a strong 'super franchise' in the Hyperion lineup. The product segmentation is NOT clear. It is NOT obvious. It has EXTREMELY poor branding & messaging. It's just overall a mess! Kinda like how Microsoft confusingly names all its products, even personal & business products that aren't interoperable, with identical branding and w/ naming conventions that are meaningless. Terrible strategy.

Thanks to DOR with these brand and model in depth talks with Mizuno and Tina with Brooks. Learnt some great information on foams/plates.
Thanks for watching!
I really want to see the comparison between the hyperion 2 gts vs saucony tempus. These are the two stability options that can run fast.
This! Maybe with another fast stable neutral/bordering stability option
Hyperion Elite & Max GTS 🙏

I've hoarded up a bunch of brooks hyperion tempos. I'm glad to hear about the launch 11, which sounds like a spiritual successor to it.

Andrea lit up like a kid in a candy shop when Tina said she would give a sneak peek of next years Hyperion line. Love it!
Launch 10 has been a versatile shoe for me.

I’d love to see brooks add more of a forefoot rocker to the adrenaline. It’s so stiff. Even to the glycerin.
