    Can we be really clear here? Leclerc did not "almost kill Hamilton" - even if, on video, a piece of Leclerc's car flew up and hit Hamilton's halo or mirror. The race director failed to order a mechanical flag be shown to Leclerc, and the team made the choice to stay out because the car's performance was sufficient to continue. Neither of these decisions are on Leclerc. The title should be changed.

    It was unbelievable the stewards allowed Leclerc to race with that car. Not only Hamilton had to dodge debris, Norris as well (he even had to pit to have some debris removed). This could easily have ended differently, had Hamilton reacted slower, although the halo may have rescued him anyway. The craziest thing about the Leclerc inchident was that he hit Verstappen's car with his mirror as well.

    I wish F1 would put the Aeroscreen around the Halo soon before any of these parts hit a driver, but knowing F1 they will wait for something bad to happen first to take action, luckily Indycar has already been using the Aeroscreen for a few years and this means that by the time F1 wants to use the Aeroscreen the problems with heating and visibility will probably already be solved.

    If anyone is having any doubts about that endplate...A composite piece of carbon fiber cured with an epoxy resin and maybe some aramids mixed in there....Carbon fiber shards are already bad enough to cut yourself and can puncture skin....Add momentum from a car going 300 km/h and it could have been a bad enough hit, especially if it hit the visor part.

    • @DiabolicalBiscuit
      @DiabolicalBiscuit 2 місяці тому

      endplates are sharp it would've been a Massa type event, and there's a large gap just beside each centre i think the better world would've been "more central" as in closer to the cockpit area rather than directly in the middle, i don't think that's what they meant, they didn't mean directly in the middle but closer to the cockpit meaning it could enter the gap. Almost killed is also subjective, a large piece of sharp carbon like that is going to knock you out, and being knockout approaching 130R is like a Massa crash but at top speed in the same corner bianchi crashed, granted no service vehicle, but not a good time anyway
      edit: sorry bianchi crashed at dunlop curve, forgot, i haven't really bared to watch or read much about that crash since i witnessed it live, tragic event
