Suchet is an incredible actor, and Poirot is an incredible character. It's a brilliant show. But hell, I'd watch it just for this theme music. It just oozes pure class. sends a shiver down my back.
Well ... In french, Poirot has the same pronunciation as leek ... So when i read your comment, i read " David Suchet is the best leek ever " ... I was really confused for a second :/
David Suchet was born to play 'Poirot', just as Joan Hickson was born to play 'Miss Marple' and now the same for Brenda Blethyn she is just born to play 'Vera'.
@@przemor1150 Hercule poirot and Sherlock Holmes are both greatest detectives but then there is columbo then monk they would be right after there great too

Best theme ever and best detective ever!! I have Agatha Christie's Poirot: The Definitive Collection Series 1-13, and almost the complete collection of the books!!!
The music director did such a great job on this series. Brilliant music, one of the draws for watching the programs. Think of the art involved of keying the music exactly to the visuals. Yet over the years the British television industry did amazing work, consistently, time after time. First class stuff.
We're doing Hercule Poirot's first case for a play this weekend (today's our second and third show) and WOW am i glad it introduced me to such a great show. In the play I play Mary Cavendish, and my best friend plays John, her husband.
it was one of my wonderful and lovely mother in law favorite show ... everytime i hear this soundtrack.. it s for me impossible not to cry. She was amazing.. lovable and nicest person i ve ever wanted in my life.. and God.. decided to take her away from me... she was such a blessing . Love you mum... everywhere you are.. ( watchin .. poirot i am sure with the angels )
I'm not even interested in this show, but ever since I was a kid I'd hear my mum watching this show, and I'd listen to the theme outside of the room whenever it came on because even back then, I loved it.
I've avoided it for the last 15 years back when I was a kid or a teenager as I remember it being boring. Whether I'll find it boring now who knows. However most people seem to love the *ITV* shows *Sherlock Holmes* 1984-1994 and *Poirot* 1989-2010. I was more of a fan of *The Bill* and *Heartbeat.*
And both Watson and Hastings served as officers in the British Army in war time and were deployed and wounded in action on the frontlines (although Watson was a Medical Corps officer and Hastings was in infantry).
I agree, I think there still is some stuff still not filmed like "Black Coffee". Think David Suchet made some radio recordings of the play, but there was never an episode of it. Maybe it could be the basis of a movie, or other unused material?
I miss Poirot today and he died a heart attack and when I hear this theme I feel sad for his death I miss Hercule Poirot a lot . I give my heart to my dearest friend and today I finnished all Seasons and episodes . I want to say this to David Suchet thank you for playing this wonderful role you got selected. You are excellent actor and I want to say this to Hercule Poirot you are truly greatest dectetive in the world
That depends. I keep hearing that the 1984 to 1994 *Sherlock Holmes* which is an *ITV* show just like *Poirot* is the best detective show ever. I can't remember if I watched it at the time or not.
i watched David Suchet on the orient Express and the pianist played the Poirot theme and Mack The Knife which appears as background in music in both Poirot and Marple episodes.
Im 13 currently, I remember waking in the morning at 6am because I heard this theme song. My dad never understood that at that (time I was 8) instead of watching children shows I watched this but this is the best mystery show ever.
everytime i hear this theme tune i am transported back to the 1930s and start daydreaming of what it was like in richmond and twickenham, and igo into of a world of ma own ;D
