Holmes was my childhood hero, my first object of total idealisation. I remember myself sitting in the room at late nights, holding Conan Doyle books, being lost in the world of genius, eccentric Sherlock Holmes and there was nothing in the real world what could get me more excited. First time when I heard about BBC's modern adaptation I was like 'Ugh, Sherlock in a modern world? really? I don't even want to hear about it. I can already imagine what a mess they've made" and then I gave it a try and Man, it was brilliant! Just brilliant! leaving me speechless brilliant! and the super exciting theme melody makes me feel like it was chosen by real Sherlock Holmes (well, for me he is real) as an accompaniment music of his brilliance. :)
+Tamara Molko It's interesting to watch the show......SO MUCH of the books are incorporated, and maybe half of it is direct or almost direct quotes from the book. I felt the same way watching the first episode....they did VERY well, you can really tell the directors truly made the show out of love for the books, and not for revenue or the public (Though that may also have been part of it.)
+Tamara Molko The books were some of my favorites as a child too! I also put off watching the modern adaption for a LONG time. I just finished watching it a few months ago, and WOW was that an amazing journey. Even though I read the books years ago, so much of it was direct from the books, that it really brought back memories of my childhood. If only more of my childhood books were done like this.. Sadly, 99% of books when turned into movies just end up being steaming piles of horse dung =/.
Also, my friend had watched the show before I did. he recommended it to me as he knew I was a avid fan of Sherlock Holmes. I told him, "Nothing will ever be as great as the books are.".. Turns out I was wrong.
+Sunny Shukla One of my friends showed it to me also. Although I still like the books more then the modern adaptation. Even though I love modern sherlock to death, it isn't the same as the original. It doesn't have that sherlock feel, of old london, where he is a genius among fools, so ahead of his time, that he might aswell have time traveled. It isn't as impressive when 90% of the sherlock techniques (in the modern adaptation) already exist, and are in use by the police force.

And....man, I fucking love it. This character is so fucking awesome. I'm fond of it already. How could I. I don't have like films or TV shows. ....and love that music as well.
"Shut up everybody, shut up! Don't move, don't speak, don't breathe, I'm trying to think. Anderson, face the other way, you're putting me off"-Sherlock
Oh for the love of the universe, who else wants to burst into tears and jump right into the heart of it all upon hearing this?! I swear, this opening sequence was as instrumental in causing me to fall in love..so very deeply, as it turns out...with this show as was the brilliant acting and directing and producing and all of that. Yep, I just love the ever loving stuffing out of this show!!!
JAYHONOFAGUN 8756 It makes me feel adventurous and go out for some reason... dunno 'bout you guys. I'm just enjoying my form until it strikes to twelve.
John Watson's motif: **slow, rubato, hollow, sad, dreary** Sherlock Holmes' theme: **quick, steady, spontaneous, lively, sporadic** It's almost as if their individual themes symbolize them as characters and grant us further insight into their mindset and deeper emotions... -I love music so much-
"The game is on!!!" Love when this duo sets in motion before going chasing a criminal or any clue with this music on. "Down to business" feeling. Get ready, put on your coat and catch a taxi as soon as you can. Crime does not wait for weak and slow minds. Challenges are designed for people like them. The sense of emotion before an adventure, the vast intelligence of Sherlock hurrying against evil, the excitement at the beginning of another chess game, the vibrant, ominous and opulent tunes in this song... Brilliant combination!
I only found this show because I was staying at a hotel and couldn't sleep. Decided to find something on Netflix and saw a BBC version of Sherlock. Figured that would easily make me fall asleep. Long story short, two episodes later and I was hooked. Cant wait for season 4!
I'm not a psychopath i'm a high-functioning sociopath. "Oh my god I haven't seen the amount of attention that this comment had received thank you guys, don't forget to do your research"
Interestingly, the movie hadn't come out by the time Arnold had composed it. "I suppose it's not unusual to have a violin-led approach to the character of Sherlock. It's not unusual for composers to come up with a similar approach to a character, and he was a high-functioning drug user, so there's a bit of madness involved. When we were working on the music for and after the pilot, the Sherlock Holmes film hadn't come out, so it was just one of those things." ~David Arnold
I tried that, I felt like I needed to bow down and watch the pancakes with a microscope all the time, but it felt epic watching those gosh darn pancakes with a microscope!!!😂
When I started watching this series for the first time, I just fell in love with the music, it was so strange and different. The music in the opening showing the London Eye is great too. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were so good in this, hated to see it end.
Greg gets a text: Need help. Come now. Help me. Please. SH Greg: ALL BACKUP TO BAKER STREET, NOW! They arrive at Baker Street, and burst into Sherlock's room. Greg: What? What is it? Sherlock: So you know John's wedding? He asked me to be his best man, I have to give this whole speech. (Helicopters and sirens outside) that scene sent me lmaoo
Sherlock: “You’re me?” Dr. Strange going to other dimensions: “Yep.” Benedict: “What the fU-“ Edit: a year later I see this comment n I can’t help but cringe yet it’s so harmless-
think about it sherlock would’ve deduced instantly that dr strange was him in another dimension so he doesn’t need to say your me as a question. Instead he’ll say your me to dr strange as a sentence

And then, I had to watch the first episode of this show for some school purposes. And....man, I fucking love it. This character is so fucking awesome. I'm fond of it already. How could I. I don't have like films or TV shows.
....and love that music as well.
Good. Welcome. We receive you with arms wide open!
Well, thank you!
You are now a Sherlockian.
Actually, I'm a "Sherlockian" since I'm 8 years old. I just never tried anything else than the books.
Seiden Kaczka I'd also recommend the movies (new ones) if you have time. Not as good as the BBC series imho but still worth it! I enjoyed them

Favorite moment of the entire show, for some odd reason it always gets me
+Potatoes when they walk away together laughing... God everything about this show either makes my heart feel fuzzy or gives me chills lmao

Jackie Marie hell yeah
John Watson's motif: **slow, rubato, hollow, sad, dreary**
Sherlock Holmes' theme: **quick, steady, spontaneous, lively, sporadic**
It's almost as if their individual themes symbolize them as characters and grant us further insight into their mindset and deeper emotions... -I love music so much-
I can't be the only one who feels like SUPER COOL whenever I listen to this right? It's so energizing XD
+Hard Life To Love Nothing like this music to add a spring to my steps !! :)
Ikr??? I loving listening to this song when I feel like drawing Sherlock!
"The game is on!!!"
Love when this duo sets in motion before going chasing a criminal or any clue with this music on.
AGREED! Absolutely!

I only found this show because I was staying at a hotel and couldn't sleep. Decided to find something on Netflix and saw a BBC version of Sherlock. Figured that would easily make me fall asleep. Long story short, two episodes later and I was hooked. Cant wait for season 4!
I loved the books. Now I love the series even more!

Sherlock's speech on John's wedding: "Let's talk about death." People's face: holy sh** ... hahahah
it's kinda cool how Zimmers and Arnolds Score "talk" to each other. They both have the same vibe, but talk a different langauge.
i tottaly agree, i thought i was the only one lol
Interestingly, the movie hadn't come out by the time Arnold had composed it.
"I suppose it's not unusual to have a violin-led approach to the character of Sherlock. It's not unusual for composers to come up with a similar approach to a character, and he was a high-functioning drug user, so there's a bit of madness involved. When we were working on the music for and after the pilot, the Sherlock Holmes film hadn't come out, so it was just one of those things."
~David Arnold
I love how the tune speeds up. Really gives you that “the game’s afoot” feeling and makes you wanna run around looking at clues.
I think 'clueing for looks' is what you mean lol
is it wrong if i say that I actually like Benedict as SH more than Robert DJ?
The SH movies were shit.

Seriously one of the best parts of the series is the soundtrack
When I started watching this series for the first time, I just fell in love with the music, it was so strange and different. The music in the opening showing the London Eye is great too. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were so good in this, hated to see it end.
My favorite TV show... Can't wait for season 4.
Some people say that it could come out in the end of the year, but I think that 2017 is more likely.

They arrive at Baker Street, and burst into Sherlock's room.

Sherlock: “You’re me?”
Dr. Strange going to other dimensions: “Yep.”
Benedict: “What the fU-“
Edit: a year later I see this comment n I can’t help but cringe yet it’s so harmless-
Thx for making my day 😂
Honestly he'd probably see it coming somehow
think about it sherlock would’ve deduced instantly that dr strange was him in another dimension so he doesn’t need to say your me as a question. Instead he’ll say your me to dr strange as a sentence
I think Benedict would have had a hard time playing the idiot(?) in Doctor Strange since he played the ‘genius’ for so long

Watching this show over and over again i can say this makes me feel at home
Today in class I nearly failed a test because I had trouble remembering some things and the whole time I was scrounging arround in my head for answers I kept thinking that does it, when I get home I'm gonna look up that mind palace thing Sherlock does.. I wonder if it's actually possible to remember stuff so accurately like Sherlock or Magnussen?
Most winners of memory competitions (yes, those exist) learned their behavior, they were not born with it. Check out Joshua Foer's TED talk on memory.
It does. Loci method or Mind palace
If you don't know about people with perfect memory then you should read about this guy : D.C. Shereshevskii,a russian reporter incapable of forgetting anything.
That is probably a mental disorder, maybe a hundred if not less are able to remember every moment in their lives.
It's actually not that hard, at least it isn't for me. It just takes a bit of practice.
Haaa i love this soundtrack! You can learn with it, you get adrenaline and it just reminds me of this show. This is my favourite soundtrack, so simple but so amazing, and that idea of that series is amazing too. 2016 sherlock is coming back. "

Ah, the good old times, when BBC Sherlock was the freaking best show ever created.
Sky Cendre ikr, I’m still skeptical if there’d be a fifth series
@@ashlyn1133 A fifth series would feel like aggressive medical treatment. I don't think there's much to say about the story by now, and a lot of the chemistry between the actors got lost. And imo that was what made the show so great.
