I loved watching this film. This story is super relatable because I was Belle. I’ve been that person who needed a little nudge to finally find the courage to follow my passion, even when I wasn’t sure I could do it! 💕
Me too, except I’m a guy lol. I think a lot of us have self-talk that holds us on the sidelines longer than we need to be. Especially as a creative. I enjoyed this story.
I can’t wait to see what happens next for Belle. Her story got cut short too soon! I wanted to see what her work in the gallery looks like, how her relationships evolve and where the story goes next. I think her story is relatable - especially for children of West Indian parents. I think representation matters. In some households, in certain generations, discipline means you don’t act out, speak out, or disobey your parents - which means not going after what you want, and having a lot of self-talk. You could see the contrast with Kennedy - she’s used to getting what she wants. I want to see Belle’s boldness be rewarded, and a scene where her mom has to come back and say sorry she doubted her! This should be a series!
Thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts! Love to hear that Belle’s story resonates with you, especially the experiences of growing up in a Caribbean household. We definitely left room to explore more of her story. As for turning it into a series-let’s just say there could be more to come. Stay tuned!
I share the same sentiments! It’s clear that there are lot of enriching experiences ahead for Belle and the supporting characters. I’d love to see how their stories continue to bloom.
Is Jade really Belles friend? She waltzes in, eats Belles food and does an eye roll when Belle mentions her concerns. Seems like everything is about Jade.

Jade is definitely used to the world catering to her! But you have to see how their friendship plays out in the full movie to decide.
