Note: You can actually beat the game (in Normal) with almost any build. So, if you just want to have fun or you play with friends, no need to stick to meta builds.
Well I dare you to play a Prayer Paladin, like I foolishly did the 1st time I played D2 back in 2002; put 20 points in this aura and beat it, I wanna see. Act 1 was doable, act 2 was rock-hard but also doable. It took me forever to finish act 3, the jungles of Kurast were a total nightmare. When I reached act 4, I trully felt I was in the Burning Hell. I simply couldn't kill demons in Plains of Despair, my dmg was too low... didn't even get to River of Flame and I knew something was wrong the toon, so I just deleted it an restarted. Made a Zeal + Fanaticism (back in the day there were no synergies) Pally and managed to beat the game suuuuper hard. Thank Akarat for Synergies, made Zeal + Holly Freeze my favorite build. I don't care for the OP stuff like Hammerdin, never felt right to me. DAMN, I wrote too much, sorry!
I bought this game in 2017 for the first time and it's the best arpg I ever played I am currently redownloading it so I can play again you are gonna have so much fun :) great game the coolest part is you can switch back to the original graphics aswell so you can play the game how it was 20 years ago
When my sister first started dating my brother-in-law I went with her to his house and he was playing Diablo 2. This was about 2007. He saw how interested in it I was so he bought me a copy. It is hands down one of my favorite games of all time. Unfortunately, my play disc broke recently and I was on the verge of buying a digital copy when they announced the remaster. Lucky me. Anyway, I hope you come to like it as I have. It's one of those pillars in gaming history.
D2 Vet here. I always start my ladder seasons off with a javazon typically. They are slow progress in normal, and really pick up once you have some points invested in lightning fury. End game, they are probably the most versatile class in the game, assuming you have infinity on merc and all that good stuff. Their dodge, avoid and evade skills coupled with a stormshield make them pretty tanky as well. They excel in cows, and little worry about accidentally killing the cow king (lightning immune). They make excellent boss killers, as well as crowd control/AOE damage. Amazon is my favorite class, although I would not recommend starting as one for most new players.
The poison Javazon was my favorite build. Javalins had speed, power, and range that doesn’t take up a lot of space. And it can compensate for enemies with poison resistences and immunities. Her passive skills like critical strike, dodge, and pierce made her especially effective. I also liked using the assassin because she was a mix between an Amazon and Barbarian. Her claw masteries and disciplines made her a force to be reckoned with.
That’s actually crazy to think about. I was a bit too young to be cognizant of the fact that I could probably have looked stuff up online. Didn’t even know what dial up was. But I can imagine having been a few years older and having to try and figure stuff out for yourself if you had enough motivation to try and beat Hell.
thats what made the game good, now adays people just look up the best thing and its so dumb the fun part is learning for yourself it feels more real than copying some kid online
Noting beats the fishymancer period. This build existed since 20 years ago and viable as #1 for D2. I only play other class and builds when i get better items for them otherwise it will take ages to farm
Martial arts is good, but very few skills are good. What is sad about martial arts is her most OP combo (Tiger Strike + Dragon Tail) gets dragged down at hell because of immunities, but it's a blast going through normal and nightmare.
Haven't played through D2 for 3-4 years. The learning curve will be noob for me, i forgotten how i used to make my builds completely... All the more exciting really
dude just wanted to say i really like your BT symbol graphic and sound at the end - I dont usually like that type of thing so good job - also hype for d2 release
I would love to see leveling guide for each class like for example sorc starting with charge bolt or fire bolt then transfering on blizzard and eng game orb/fire or light with each lvl
@@BTNeanderthal yup your just a casual gamer not a true gamer if you put barbarian on lowest even on multiplayer barbarian can catch a mage just by jumping
thats not a bad choice. Sorceress and Assassin are good aswell. There are a bunch of great combos out there. Druid and Assassin. Paladin and Sorceress etc
I understand play a Sorc first, but all the guides I find are guides on 1billion%MF Sorc. How do I get to that point? What build, stats, gear can I Start MFing on and when and where do I do this on a fresh toon (Solo).
The point is that there is no point. Firstly, you can do MFing at level 10. While playing on hardcore, I sometimes do that to get Bloodfist from norm Andariel. Secondly, you don't need any MF%, in some cases the less MF the better, but that's super late game. You can do things like shop from the NPCs, because it's faster, for a body armour and a helmet with sockets. Then stuff the sockets with perfect and flawless topazes which become plentiful in nightmare. You can also shop for blue gloves and boots that give a decent amount of MF to start. You can do both of these especially on a sorceress, because all she really needs from items is at least 37% FCR, and you can easily get 25% from the Stealth runeword by norm act 1, and 10% on magic rings which drop right from the start of the game, and then the Spirit runeword in a sword gives 25-35%, and once you're in nightmare it's just as easy as Stealth. Put up to 156 in strength to be able to equip the Spirit in a monarch shield, everything else into vitality. You might want to put only up to 55 into strength at first, then respec. From then on it will be a game of balancing item modifiers to keep boosting your resistances, but the sorcersess will always be squishy. There are so many other options and so many ways. I would even say it's debatable if the sorceress is a must to start. If you're playing online then have someone rush you for the forge quest reward then keep joining public Baal runs until level 85ish, then you can do farm hell Mephisto on your own, with the above mentioned equipment, by moat glitching him.
This was a great video for new players, great tips like starting with Sorc early on to MF and get geared up. Not sure why there are so many thumbs down.
Hmm I never played any remake or project/mod etc but used to play the original Diablo 2 and later Addon. I don't think i finished Hell, but I was pretty young back then. 14 or 15 at max and yet I could play through the game as Barbarian before I even touched another class. It was also pretty easy and convenient to "master" my specc back then (which was something completely off-meta as I understand now). I really don't get why you claim that Barbarian is supposedly the hardest class to start playing with. From what I've seen from a couple of recent UA-cam videos is that you guys all min-max the shit out of the game. The same reason why Classic WoW and TBC Classic was unbareable for more than a couple months... The community really destroys every single game nowadays. Just play w/e the fk you like and is fun. All those guides and many many many words to describe a fun and simple game are just too much.
Them changing the overall look of the main characters reduces the nostalgia. This is a remaster poeple want to see the old game but in new graphics. It was a very different time in 2000 when it was dropped, and we want to see it for what it was regardsless of todays politics. I hope they simply remaster the old characters and don't go down the path of the rewamp/remake idea of attempting to change the past they are currently on
Imagine a new act slotted inbetween act 2 and 3, before you face a prime evil. And its a cyberpunk type city, and they add guns into the game. Runeword guns. Sorry i dont have the time you wasted reading this, so i cant give it back.
Note: You can actually beat the game (in Normal) with almost any build. So, if you just want to have fun or you play with friends, no need to stick to meta builds.
This is true, thanks for adding to this :)

bro fuck meta i just wanna hear about the classes then learn for myself
Missed that masterpiece in my childhood, hope i will understand soon why everybody crazy about this game so much :D

As an experienced D2 player, I enjoyed this video.
I’m glad 🙂
Dude hands down my favorite and first will be cold sorc, ideally to farm everything from the start.
I didn't have internet when I played this. Figuring out a build to solo Hell Mode with no online economy took up many glorious hours of my childhood.
That’s actually crazy to think about. I was a bit too young to be cognizant of the fact that I could probably have looked stuff up online. Didn’t even know what dial up was. We rolled into the game and made some solid hybrid builds that did really well. Loved the game when I was growing up. Can't wait for the resurrection.

Its pretty bad when a martial arts Assassin's best ability is whirlwind when it isn't even the Sins OG ability.
When I heard about the sorc telekinesis i immediatly thought of how my sorc buddy will ninja loot with that xD
Will look forward for each class content!
Great NO BS breakdown haha. Can’t wait to play it
Glad you liked it

Barbarian, Sorceress and Druid for me

Noted :)
perfect video, thank you.
and in LOD ladder ( 20 years ago ) i had a 99 kicksin , but it was a harder way and you still need a high mf sorc to get your gear + trade
Necromancer for life
👍
cold sorc AT runs baby.
Yep 👍
Barbarian is the most op class I beat hell using barbarian
Good on you sir

thats not a bad choice. Sorceress and Assassin are good aswell. There are a bunch of great combos out there. Druid and Assassin. Paladin and Sorceress etc
All chads play barbs day 1
:P
Barbs in D2 are like Warriors in WoW Vanilla, great at endgame with a team, excruciatingly painful to level.
@@ozymandias8623 not hard at all to play.
How's this game compared to diablo 3 difficulty wise? If it's comparable then I think any class is gonna be easy to clear till higher difficulty.
It gets rough for a bit then easy in the ultra end game as far as effort. The game is a knowledge based game

pala hammer obv.... i already try soso - all build, cant run solo.... with hammer i can do all mf run dia runs etc!.
why do i get a feeling it has a few broken builds that rly work and most are trash ?
Cuz that’s LOD haha

People are salty about builds I didn’t mention because I was being brief most likely
What about Dark pact?
*face palm*
Why new Amazon so ugly😭😭
She wasn't pretty in the first place. She's an amazon. Look at the original sprite. She's clearly not a sex icon.
Java Amazon fuck the Rest 🤣
Hope they balance thr game a bit after D2r has been out for a bit. If you wanna be purists. Play normal d2.
Well said :P
