What about Ares? If he gets behind and tries to ult you just turn and kill him. If he comes up on you and chains you you just turn and kill him. He can't clear lane or generally farm alone. I thought for sure we'd see him here.
I guess that's where personal preference comes in. I still think that his potential cc doesn't provide enough leverage to pull back in the game, at least a majority of the time, considering that people just turn and burn him while hes channelling the ult. I was watching Zapman play yesterday and after calling out Zeus beads and asking the Ares to focus the Zeus, he was instantly killed after engaging and they lost the game as a result. Also the current meta with many cc ults, such as Medusa's, Ra's, etc and the free beads relic really hurt his reliability.
Nada Spy its true if hes behind you can just body him but his cripple n then % hp fire makes you a target if hes got his team to help. though you can say same with cabrakan so i think for duke it was prefrence on the usuability of the kit from behind
I honestly thought from the title that this was gonna be a list of the worst gods to play because of what they look like from the back when playing them.
why does chaac fall off so bad? I can't figure it out his abilities have good uses in team fights and are on short cooldowns but it seems like level 15 comes around and if your not 3 levels up you're useless.
All he has is ability damage and people are all finishing their builds, they have more offense or defense at that point than Chaac can really deal with. Another part of it is pen in the late game too
Vega he has an aoe slow, good reach, knock up and silence, and high sustain. compare him to sun wukong who has no fall off and a very similar kit it just doesn't make sense to me
I could be wrong about this since I'm not sure where this god stands fully in the meta. Though I think Serqet might have trouble when she falls behind. She is a attack ability type of god as opposed to someone like Kali or Arachne who uses attack speed and basic attacks. Serqet's 1 can farm gold and xp with ease, however if she falls behind then it really hurts her. Her 2 is only beneficial as CC rather than damage and getting that extra bit of poison, and her 3 while powerful at max rank, is really just a means of an extra escape plan. Her ultimate requires timing in knowing who to hit, when to hit, and if it'll cause the chain reaction of kills to come from both minion and gods. Her 1 is only truly effective if built crit, but with such a high cost to sticking close to crit that will require lots of farming in order to accumulate the necessary amount of gold. Some people have been able to make her more basic attack oriented and using her abilities as flavor damage to add more damage to their kit i.e. poisons and catalysts, but I dunno how effective that is.
I used to main Serqet until her nerf came, so this is my legitimate experience with her. If there's anyone who knows her better than me about her then I appreciate some leverage if my theory holds up or not.
Hades is the kind of mage that doesnt really work on the mid lane just because of his need for defense items, he is very good on solo though, mistical mail and void stone are a great combo for having devastating ults while not being exploded by the enemy team, bancroft talon is a must along with mantle of discord for stunning your targets if you get too low and getting a boosted power and lifesteal from there, then theres boots and an item of choice. This type of build relies a lot from farm though, but Hades compensates his short range skills by having a heal, he can afford getting poked.
Well.. kind of...The trick is to know when to pop the 2 after you threw your 1 at the minions. Let the ticking last until the last 2 maybe 3 seconds of the duration then launch the 2 out to get the most of the damage.
Just as Hades has a fear, which last longer than Zhong's stun. Both can be tanky and both have similar ultimates, though Hades's deasl more DMG and Zhong's can get more protections at lower levels if he has stacked almost all his passive. Zhong has safer clear, if we can call that clear. Also Zhong gets a lot of protections from his tick but Hades's natural protections absurdly higher.
duke i enjoyed the video but 2 things 1. Given that you mentioned so many gods besides the actual top 7, why dont just make an actual top 10? 2. I noticed that for gods that got remodels you still used the old model (freya and aracne in this video) Is there a reason for that? I just think putting the updated models is a small change that makes the video better Sorry for the long comment like I said I enjoyed the video so keep up the good work :)
I agree with Rav you completely you have to agress early and if it fails he just does not add much to the team. I would of thought that you would mention Ao kaung tho but like you say it is your list. Great content as always!
And I thought Thanatos was the worst from behind God since he's an Early game God and if you don't pick up your game early you won't do very well late but he does have his Execute... so that's worth something
If you get behind with Ravana you don't need to be playing Ravana. He is one of the best warriors in the game. His single target damage and escape capability is unmatched so it makes it pretty hard to get behind if you're at least a decent Ravana player.
I definitely agree with Zues, Ah Puch, and Ravana. Not sure about the others but I can't honestly think of gods who'd I put on my own list. Maybe Zhong Kui, but I don't play him much so I wouldn't know
Well as a Ravana Main...I totally Agree, there are so many solo laners that Ravana can't bully and that ends up in a horrible spot that is "I'm not able to get kills or doing enough damage" because i must go more tanky. Gods such as Tyr can Out Bully Ravana so Hard that you can't do anything.
I think Camazotz is one of the worst gods from behind. He has very little CC and just damage. If he falls behind, he doesn't have enough damage and that's all he can do.
I think arachne is worse the Nhe Za mostly because with Ne Zha you can still set up wombo combos with your ult if you are behind, plus you have a ranged poke/slow with your ring toss and an instant not needing to touch someone heal. Arachne has none of that. I love her but I cannot deny she does absolutely nothing when behind.
Ao Kuang also sucks when you get behind. Even if you do manage to level up your ult, it won't matter if you just get your ass kicked before you do anything.
I totally agree with the list but if there was a god i could add it would've been ullr. He is a bit like amc. I play ullr a lot and i find it really hard to get back when i'm falling behind. His damage isn't that much when he is on a lower level and you just have to farm the lanes or something to at least level up. Well then there's the split push potential which ullr definetly has but ya know...
NE ZHA is all about bursting someone down, but if he don't have the tools for that, he will be the one bursted down everytime he uses his Sash, if he's behind.
I disagree with Hades. When I fall behind as Hades, I go tanky with cooldown reduction, at level 12 I get thorns, and that way they have no option but to try and run away when you engage. If you don't have your ultimate, sure, you're gonna struggle. But your main goal is to have a team that can synergize with your ultimate anyway. Your ultimate lategame isn''t really that hard to counter. So you need to chain it with a Hou Yi ult, or Athena ult (one of my favorites). You use your ult to keep them maybe one or two more ticks in Hou Yi's ult, and then you most likely get their beads AND their aegis if it's off cooldown.
Ares. You have to be in frontline + that ultimate makes you sitting target. Ares behind is so easily killable while he is stick in that million second ult animation
I agree with you about Ravana. If u can't bully lane and get ahead early game your in trouble. I can somehow get away with it because my playstyle already has in me the back ready to burst an enemy down to finish an escaping kill. Maybe I just have good teammates lol. That's why Chang'e is my favorite god by far. She has really nice burst damage and sustain for the entire team, she's perfect for my playstyle.
Just saw the video, here's my opinion if anyone is interested, Why Ne Zha ?? I would have put lots of other assassins (Fenrir, Awilix (!), Serqet maybe) but not Ne Zha ... Even if behind he can still ult you, you may be 3 levels ahead that guy, once he has 3 or 4 items, even if you have 5 he can kill you while you can't do nothing. Basically the worst gods from behind to me are the early game gods, a late game god like Ne Zha, Kali or anything will always end up being strong even if he falls behind at some point. Whereas a early game focused god become really useless for the rest of the game if he start getting behind. Well that's my point. My list would have been waaaay different, expect some like Hades or Arachne.
Mario Vasquez he dident put late game hypercarry becouse they may come back. if xaba come back he can still sloughter like nothing happen. if ravana come back he still do little becouse he is an early to mid game god
It seems that Fenrir is bad when behind, is he not brought up because he can ult into the backline and drag an enemy carry into the Fenrir's entire team?
Osiris has the stun and the damage reduction on a large area, even if he gets taken down fairly easily he likely can get half a team stunned and half their damage for his team. also in the same way as Ravana, if you are behind with Osiris you are doing something wrong with how easy it is to bully lane as him
almost any good early game god will be next to useless if they fall behind a bit too much. also, if you are Ravana and losing lane to the point where you are fairly behind then you have done something very wrong or are against Hercules or Osiris. burst heal, slow, root, immunity to damage, good clear on every ability.
I would replace Zeus with Ares. Zeus has enough base damage to survive having less gold. Ares gets blown up before his ult can finish and has little CC to help if he falls behind.
For me the worst god from behind is Sylvanus. First of all being a tank and being behind means that you are squishy, so you cant fullfill you roll as a tank, not only that but as a tank you build defense, not power, therefore your healing is terrible if you cant keep up. Not even his ult (which is a great by the way) is help full because you have to position yourself in the middle of everybody and being squishy that ult is the last thing your going to do guaranteed. I play only supps, and everytime i got behind with sylvanus i lost.
AlexMoman Isn't Fenrir's ult kind of backbreaking when the enemy team tries to push? Especially in conjunction with another heavy CC god to trigger Beads
Fenrir from behind is fine when his ult gives him shit tons of tank and he can just be an ult bot. Zues can just get picked out all the time. he needs a team built around him. Fenrir does not. Fenrir also has super high base damage so its kinda hard for him in any setting besides noob player for him to not do well from behind. its much harder for Zues to do that. So kinda hard to see why y9ou would put aq god like fenrir at 7 when he has much more in fights and jungle or solo potential.
Its most likely the passive, it can help keep him alive even if he is behind while Ravana u need to actively be in people's faces and stay in them in order to get a sustain/dmg block (basically)
I disagree with the Ravana thing. Bakasura is way worse from behind. He does no damage if u fall slightly behind and has no real abilities that cam do damage without getting close. Basically if he falls behind he will either stay back and not do shit or get fucked on. His split pushing potential isnt that great imo either because he has to go too deep to get anything more than a tier 1 and will probably just die.
Hades needs a buff or needs to become a guardian again, tank hades is very fun in my opinion and with that extra base health of being a guardian he might be picked. I never played hades when he was a guardian but if he was too good or too bad they don't have to make him what he was before.
He's definitely not the best from behind either, but I feel like as long as he's not COMPLETELY obliterated and hopelessly behind, his ult still has an impact and his cripple can still be a good counter
Ravana isn't the worst from behind. Yes, his damage won't be as big of an impact, but at the very least he can still act as an effective frontline due to his 2 and the decent amount of sustain from his 3. I've got about 200 hours on Ravana and it's bad when you fall behind, but not that bad. That root and slow set up more than you might think if you're well coordinated with your team (ra ult, thoth ult, kukulkan ult). The worst god from behind IMO has to be Osiris. If Osiris falls behind, he won't deal any damage whatsoever (less so than other warriors). Osiris can't frontline when he falls behind because (1) he's not tanky enough from behind, (2) he has no way to correct his position/avoid damage like with Ravana's 2, and (3) he has no sustain to remain in long engagements. If an Osiris falls behind and attempts to frontline, it most likely will end in him dying or ulting out of the fight. I can't think of anyone worse from behind than Osiris.
Camel House But is it really that difficult to fall behind as an Osiris? I don't think so. A decent Osiris will be able to not only not die in solo but most likely win it. I play Osiris a lot and there are few occurrences where I lose solo but not straight up fall behind.
I don't know whether or not she should be on the list, but Serqet is pretty darn bad from behind. You just are so darn squishy unless you build a hybrid that even the guardians will burst you down.
i personally agree with most of this list but i, as a hades main, disagree with his placement. i dont think it truly matters where your at because i most of the time will do most damage and have most kills in my group. so i disagree that he never really falls behind
I though he ment behind. Visually looking the model from behind....
Stalker same lol
Stalker Me too
+Stalker
Nemesis,Kali,Awilix, sol, Aphrodite, Neith, and (of course) Zhong Kui #THICC
I liked your comment cause I am a Warframe fan
When I play ah puch: *Does no damage and feeds*
When the enemy plays ah puch: *Does a shit load of damage and gets triple*
*enemy Ah Puch* makes you move so slow that you think you have a frame rate problem
What about Ares? If he gets behind and tries to ult you just turn and kill him. If he comes up on you and chains you you just turn and kill him. He can't clear lane or generally farm alone. I thought for sure we'd see him here.
Nada Spy truue
Nada Spy I was thinking it should be Xbalanque but Ares for sure is the weakest
He probably considered Ares' CC good enough for the late game if the team is there for a follow-up.
I guess that's where personal preference comes in. I still think that his potential cc doesn't provide enough leverage to pull back in the game, at least a majority of the time, considering that people just turn and burn him while hes channelling the ult. Am I the only one who thought from the title means when u gank someone from behing
KingNate&Friends Mobile Gaming i thought the same thing
KingNate&Friends Mobile Gaming
same
nothing wrong with ganking.
Same
This video need to be reworded to "worst gods if you end up behind"
I thought Osiris would be mentioned, but since when is an Osiris not fed am i right?
I honestly thought from the title that this was gonna be a list of the worst gods to play because of what they look like from the back when playing them.
Aphro ulting Loki described all video, youre welcome. Really though, great vid DukeSloth.
Have you ever seen a Zhong Kui 3 levels down? Its not a pretty sight
Duke, send that rabbit to get you a relic!
why does chaac fall off so bad? I can't figure it out his abilities have good uses in team fights and are on short cooldowns but it seems like level 15 comes around and if your not 3 levels up you're useless.
with Chaac you either dominate lane and carry the game or do good or worse in lane and become nothing more than a minor irritant and occasional ult
XZhyperZX I know that but why does it happen?
Joe Monreal his kit? Lol
All he has is ability damage and people are all finishing their builds, they have more offense or defense at that point than Chaac can really deal with. Another part of it is pen in the late game too

Zhong? Knda the same case as Hades.
Jorge Manuel De León Pinelo he can get tanky and has a some utility with his stun and his slow
Well.. kind of...The trick is to know when to pop the 2 after you threw your 1 at the minions. Let the ticking last until the last 2 maybe 3 seconds of the duration then launch the 2 out to get the most of the damage.

Zhong's stun is a joke by the time the animation is over if you weren't removing your card as well they are no longer stunned
dyndo101 I use Zhong's stun like the Amaterasu's silence, an instablock for channeled skills
duke i enjoyed the video but 2 things

I definitely agree with Zues, Ah Puch, and Ravana. Not sure about the others but I can't honestly think of gods who'd I put on my own list. Maybe Zhong Kui, but I don't play him much so I wouldn't know
"Cakrakan is very good at the moment" haha yes duke. At the moment...
Well as a Ravana Main...I totally Agree, there are so many solo laners that Ravana can't bully and that ends up in a horrible spot that is "I'm not able to get kills or doing enough damage" because i must go more tanky.
Gods such as Tyr can Out Bully Ravana so Hard that you can't do anything.
had me thinking you were getting a little freaky for us with that title duke
Thoughts on Camazotz? I really don't see what he brings from behind
I feel like this list is based primarily on conquest. I primarily play joust, just curious how the game modes change opinions.
all of his lists are based on conquest as that is the main game mode of smite.
joust , more gold less xp mages don't fall behind too much,
Like someone already said, conquest is the main game mode, all of his videos are based around conquest lmao
Who primarily plays joust
I think Camazotz is one of the worst gods from behind. He has very little CC and just damage. If he falls behind, he doesn't have enough damage and that's all he can do.
JAYE but camazotz has a ton of sustain and his second ability still does a lot at low levels
The Chan'ge ult play at the end of the video though ^.^
Thoughts on the toast slicer himself (than) in this category?
Can you make some videos about gods that are OP but not likely to change soon, or have even just OP ability, and how to counter?
Grats on 50k!!!
YES!!!! Finally someone other than me plays Chanj'le! (Jungle Chang'e said as chungle)
Make a vid to show how u play.. Or link it if you already did because your controls are freaking me out
I totally agree with the list but if there was a god i could add it would've been ullr. He is a bit like amc. I play ullr a lot and i find it really hard to get back when i'm falling behind. His damage isn't that much when he is on a lower level and you just have to farm the lanes or something to at least level up. Well then there's the split push potential which ullr definetly has but ya know...
The Smaggan really kills with Ravana, he's so good to the point where he's getting banned
regrowth turns Ne Zha's 2 into an escape
Worst gods from behind:
-every support lol
What is your control layout??
Cabrakan is so fun to play but ur right about him. I love to go bruiser with him
Love the video, keep up the good work!
Just saw the video, here's my opinion if anyone is interested,
Why Ne Zha ?? I would have put lots of other assassins (Fenrir, Awilix (!), Serqet maybe) but not Ne Zha ... Even if behind he can still ult you, you may be 3 levels ahead that guy, once he has 3 or 4 items, even if you have 5 he can kill you while you can't do nothing.

Well that's my point. My list would have been waaaay different, expect some like Hades or Arachne.
Xbalanque is someone I gotta throw in mine. I guess you didn't put him in here because of the ultimate?
Mario Vasquez he dident put late game hypercarry becouse they may come back. if xaba come back he can still sloughter like nothing happen. if ravana come back he still do little becouse he is an early to mid game god
I don't think I saw xbal mentioned but he's a good choice for this list
arachne is good from behind...
It seems that Fenrir is bad when behind, is he not brought up because he can ult into the backline and drag an enemy carry into the Fenrir's entire team?
Hades is so hard to fall behind on im always ahead when i use him
What's a Ravana?
I haven't seen a Ravana since mid-season 3.
what do you think about Osiris in this context?
Osiris has the stun and the damage reduction on a large area, even if he gets taken down fairly easily he likely can get half a team stunned and half their damage for his team. also in the same way as Ravana, if you are behind with Osiris you are doing something wrong with how easy it is to bully lane as him
Now a list of best gods from behind(TSM apollo n°1 for sure)
Ravana is a character in the game?
Grats on 50k
I honestly thought he meant how the character model of the gods look like from behind. eg some have bigger models and therefore you have reduced vison
almost any good early game god will be next to useless if they fall behind a bit too much. also, if you are Ravana and losing lane to the point where you are fairly behind then you have done something very wrong or are against Hercules or Osiris. burst heal, slow, root, immunity to damage, good clear on every ability.
duke why is ares not in this list he is very hard to come back with no mobility
i love how you never backed
I would replace Zeus with Ares. Zeus has enough base damage to survive having less gold. Ares gets blown up before his ult can finish and has little CC to help if he falls behind.
I totally misread the video title had to look at description . I though you meant visually.
Zeus is fine from behind, he's almost all base damage. I think there's a very important distinction between behind and REALLY behind.
now do top gods when they are ahead
For me the worst god from behind is Sylvanus. First of all being a tank and being behind means that you are squishy, so you cant fullfill you roll as a tank, not only that but as a tank you build defense, not power, therefore your healing is terrible if you cant keep up. Uploaded March 20th
Gameplay provided before season 5 which was the beginning of February. OK...
Is this a Loki review?
hebo is an absolute beast no matter when. had a friend who carried game as hebo while being 1-12 as the insane amount of damage he does
The only change that is that i'd put fenrir #7 instead of zeus. I don't think zeus should be in that list rlly. Anyway, great vid
AlexMoman 100% agree
AlexMoman Isn't Fenrir's ult kind of backbreaking when the enemy team tries to push? Especially in conjunction with another heavy CC god to trigger Beads
Fenrir from behind is fine when his ult gives him shit tons of tank and he can just be an ult bot. Zues can just get picked out all the time. he needs a team built around him. Fenrir does not. Fenrir also has super high base damage so its kinda hard for him in any setting besides noob player for him to not do well from behind. its much harder for Zues to do that. So kinda hard to see why y9ou would put aq god like fenrir at 7 when he has much more in fights and jungle or solo potential.
fenrir just buys def and ults someone to the middle of ur team :v
I think zeus is okay there...
exactly what I thought lol
osiris isnt in the same case than ravan ? or the fact than he has more range make it better
Its most likely the passive, it can help keep him alive even if he is behind while Ravana u need to actively be in people's faces and stay in them in order to get a sustain/dmg block (basically)
So we know Lokis gonna have fun when yhry fall behind...
"BEHIND YOU"
Yeah are u going to make the TOP 7 GODS to play when behind(best)
I disagree with the Ravana thing. Bakasura is way worse from behind. He does no damage if u fall slightly behind and has no real abilities that cam do damage without getting close. Basically if he falls behind he will either stay back and not do shit or get fucked on. His split pushing potential isnt that great imo either because he has to go too deep to get anything more than a tier 1 and will probably just die.
hey duke do the top 7 busted gods when ahead in smite ;)
definitely understand the Ravana pick but I personally would add xbal
Hades needs a buff or needs to become a guardian again, tank hades is very fun in my opinion and with that extra base health of being a guardian he might be picked. I never played hades when he was a guardian but if he was too good or too bad they don't have to make him what he was before.
I also just really want a reason to use my Chibi Hades skin, anyone know a good build for him
Congrats on 50k subs
Freya man, I guess that you could say she has CC and the Ult escape tho..
No Rat okkk
Dukesloth im suprised you diddnt mention Ares from behind
He's definitely not the best from behind either, but I feel like as long as he's not COMPLETELY obliterated and hopelessly behind, his ult still has an impact and his cripple can still be a good counter
what about xbalanque??
I love you Duke!!!!
Where are xbalanque and ares?
Lol i know this is 2017 but that "Ah Puch doesnt do that much damage"😂
Make a good lifesteal build with Hades and you will never get killed while ulting.
I feel like zues is always behind and still does a ton of damage???
U can build defense on zues most of his damage is base on his 3
Where does Osiris fall?
I thought URL would be in this list
I think you missed out on Fenrir
Arachne can fall behind but your wrong about her not having mobility
i personally agree with most of this list but i, as a hades main, disagree with his placement. i dont think it truly matters where your at because i most of the time will do most damage and have most kills in my group. so i disagree that he never really falls behind
