I, on behalf of all Malaysians, would like to express our utmost gratitude to you both for promoting our Malaysian food/drinks/desserts to the world. Special thanks for these 2 amazing and incredible videos. It's always a pleasure to watch all your vlogs. Great and good job, Greg Jumi 👍👍👏
Wow thank you very much! It is our pleasure to highlight all of the delicious Malaysian food we’ve eaten around the country during our stay. Really wanted to make this 2 part series so they can be easily accessible. We appreciate it!
Can’t blame you at all! So spoiled with amazing food in Malaysia. Think that all of us who stayed in Malaysia for an extended period over the last year will always have a deep connection and want to come back often. Very special place 👍
We were actually just talking about Malaysia being a spot we need to check out after finding out we could live for less than $1500 monthly. We are looking for a spot to take a year off and just explore. So seeing this video is helping the case for Malaysia because I would eat ALL of that!!! - Jackson
Malaysia is an excellent choice! After spending a year here, we highly recommend it. Couldn’t have been in a better place during this hectic time. Some of the best food in the world!
Guys glad you wish to come over to Malaysia to stay for a year. Just to let you know, the country is closed to visitors now due to the dreaded virus! But once the doors are open again, you should come here and stay. AirBnBs are super cheap if you stay for a long term basis.

You guys will miss the upcoming Ramadan Bazaars..

It is too bad we will miss them, but it will be best to go in the future when things are closer to normal and the bazaars will be in full force

Great job with this list, so very thorough! You can never go hungry in Malaysia.. I'd love to try the ramly burger! 😋 actually, all of them.. if I get the chance lol..
Thanks a lot! Check out The Malaysian Project in NYC - they do a great version of the Ramly burger. They usually set up at the Queens Night Market and sometimes do pop-ups. Check them out on Instagram
The food with one name can have 1001 taste in Malaysia. Even nasi lemak from a stall differs to the stall next to it. In term of taste, way of serve, process of serving it, the price etc
Nyonya Laksa might be our favorite laksa... unless is super spicy, but those prawns, the noodles, the coconut milk... yum And the chicken rice, we made our own version of that today lol 😋😋
Another good list of Malaysian food. I never thought of eating satay for breakfast. Now ill consider it it. I love that bone marrow at the end and you get a straw to drink out of it!
@@muhammadabdulwahab4900 just your opinion only lah...don't say it on behalf of the rest of Malaysians. The Sarawak cafes in the Klang Valley (KL area n surrounding) are always packed.
Ikan celup tepung is like the best meal to have by the water while having a chill day and just eat the fried seafood, our kind of day that burger is soooo tempting, burger covered with fried egg, how can you go wrong like that?
I like the crispy fried vercimelli/flat kue teow with egg sauce and not forgetting the amazing seafood huts near to port klang -, crabs, prawns, clams, etc fry in awesome sauces. So delicious and just out of the world!!!! Malaysia have so many choices and types of food with so amazing variations. Will make more trips there and try all your recommendations too. Great job!
Thank you very much! Couldn’t agree more how much variety of great food there is. We will have to visit Port Klang for seafood next time along with bak kut teh in Klang
Hi Greg and Yumi, thanks for the awesome video. You guys really did a great job. However, you probably may have to do a third additional 25 dishes video. I noticed you haven't include some notable dishes in the video such as bak kut teh, chee cheong fun, Ipoh tau fu fah, smelly tofu (taman connaught), dim sum, nasi ganja, karipap. Do try them before you leave Malaysia.
Thank you, Timothy! You’re right - there is a lot more we could have included. It was quite tough to narrow down, but these were our favorites. Had to get creative with the classifications too so we could fit 50 😂 We ate all of the dishes you mentioned, except that we wanted to have bak kut teh in Klang. We heard they make it really well there. Nasi Ganja in Ipoh was absolutely amazing and we included it in our Ipoh food video. Some off camera.
I am so appreciative of how you have gone through the top 50 foods from Malaysia. I can’t wait to find a Malaysian restaurant near us that has a lot of these foods. We are going to go to the restaurant that Maria and Nabol went to...the one in Chicago.
Still remember the nasi kukus you had in the other video. It’s beautifully wrapped, and poured with beautiful red sauce. That got me salivating a lot 🤤
Learned a lot from your adventures. Had to have Rendang today for the first time at Wok Wok on Mott Street. Delish. As for roti dishes we always had them here in Staten Island being that we have a huge Sri Lankan community here but a lot of the stuff I never knew...
@@FoodandFootprints I had recently sought out a roti kottu dish after watching one of your videos. There's a place here in Staten Island called Randiwa Sri-Lankan, not Malaysian but they title the dish the same. I was in love. Immense portions for the price and fresh.
Oh yeah wasting no time if you’re watching from part 1. The nasi kerabu is wonderful, guys!! Not easy to find in the US though. Could be interesting to make
Yumms... I think you missed Murtabak and Keropok Lekor. Also maruku, vaddey, masalodeh, and all those kueh- tepung pelita, puteri manda, kueh bakar, kaswi, tahi itik and many many more. TQ guys...
Yup! Plenty more dishes we could’ve included. We got a little creative and put kuih as one category since there are so many. Could easily have made it 100 dishes! Thank you for watching 😁
So glad we got to eat at Kin Kin together! It was perfect after the New Year festivities. Probably our most visited spot for food in KL, with Mansion Tea Stall coming in after that.
Chili Pan Mee is definitely up there on my list of favourite Malaysian dishes aside from the standard Nasi Lemak, Char Koay Teow and Roti Canai. So many favourites, but oddly enough almost everytime i travel overseas the dish i crave for the most is Chili Pan Mee. Super Kitchen and Kin Kin being my two favourite spots. Those chewy handmade noodles paired with that special chili flakes, fried garlic and a poached egg.... Mmmmmm... getting hungry just thinking about it.
Chili pan mee is such a masterpiece of a dish! All of those textures and flavors combined together. Can totally see why it is the dish you crave most when overseas. Also probably not very easy to find, while you can still get nasi lemak, char koay teow and roti canai overseas
Good video.. like it. Maybe you can try test other dish in our state.... Nasi Kuning or translation known as Yellow Rice is one of the popular dish in East Malaysia State of Sabah. Yellow rice is served with sambal, cucumber, half boiled egg or fry egg and fried fish. Nasi Kuning also have different variations such as Nasi Kuning Ayam(chicken), Nasi Kuning Telur(egg), Nasi Kuning Udang(prawn), Nasi Kuning Sosej(sausage), such as fish, chicken or meat sausage). few Nasi Kuning have their own Side Dish such as Serunding.
It is really cool to learn all about those fusions from other countries. Anything fried is good especially 🦐. Hey I have the same flat top griddle like those guys. But they are much better cooks than I.

It is our pleasure. We truly love Malaysia and its cuisine. The year that let us to make these videos and really get to try a lot of Malaysian food is something we’ll never forget
Hello and greetings from France! I was searching for and watching vegetarians videos but ended up with your two-part yummy food videos hahahaha!
And we know how much you love Durian! What an experience there with Puri and Sue too
Yes! Malaysia changed how much we love durian now
Amazing job to both of you!
I've always love my country's food, but this guide makes me love it even more :)
Thank you so much! Glad you love it even more from our video 😁
@@FoodandFootprints Ooh sounds like a plan..
The food with one name can have 1001 taste in Malaysia. Even nasi lemak from a stall differs to the stall next to it. In term of taste, way of serve, process of serving it, the price etc
You’re absolutely right. And we love that about nasi lemak
Those nyonya cuisines, simply delicious.
Absolutely! Could have made an entire list on just Nyonya dishes
@@FoodandFootprints Hahaha. That's right. 😁🇲🇾😁
Nyonya Laksa might be our favorite laksa... unless is super spicy, but those prawns, the noodles, the coconut milk... yum
And the chicken rice, we made our own version of that today lol 😋😋
It isn’t too spicy if you don’t add as much sambal. Has some similarities to curry mee but some distinct flavors. Nice!
That first dish with the blue rice, always looks cool to me.. nasi kerabu mmmm!
Nasi kerabu is amazing! Light and fresh, but full of flavor. Really one of the best dishes in Malaysia
Another good list of Malaysian food. I never thought of eating satay for breakfast. Now ill consider it it. I love that bone marrow at the end and you get a straw to drink out of it!
Satay for breakfast was awesome! We are fans of savory breakfasts. Yess the straw is a nice touch for the bone marrow 👍
Great cover of Malaysian food fare. Making me drooling 😋 already 😂.
End the vlog with gearbox and it triggered me of Sup Torpedo that Steve tried 😜😂
Thank you, KC! The hardest thing was narrowing it down to 50 - we had to get creative 😂
Haha we still haven’t tried Sup Torpedo 😂
Next time you must visit sabah and sarawak state.. they have many other choices of food as well
We will for sure after things get better. Would love to visit Sabah and Sarawak and try all of the wonderful food there
i dont think sarawak and sabah dishes are special.
@@muhammadabdulwahab4900 just your opinion only lah...don't say it on behalf of the rest of Malaysians. The Sarawak cafes in the Klang Valley (KL area n surrounding) are always packed.
Muhammad abdul wahab sebab kau rasis.. bodo
Ikan celup tepung is like the best meal to have by the water while having a chill day and just eat the fried seafood, our kind of day
that burger is soooo tempting, burger covered with fried egg, how can you go wrong like that?
It is! We ate it at a famous roadside spot right by the water. We agree! Burger and egg combo is magical
That durian farm episode was epic. It's crazy how much you guys have tried in a year, very cool. Give us all the laksas. 🙌
Thank you! It was crazy to think back after a year while going through all the food we ate and memories
This is definitely a complete Malaysia food directory, you guys tried more dishes in 1 year than our whole life!
Thank you, guys! We were on a mission while traveling through the states
very nice guide, i think i only eaten, half of the food/drink listed here and most of them in Singapore
Thank you! Once the borders re-open, you can head to JB to eat a bunch of these 👍
I like the crispy fried vercimelli/flat kue teow with egg sauce and not forgetting the amazing seafood huts near to port klang -, crabs, prawns, clams, etc fry in awesome sauces.
Had to get creative with the classifications too so we could fit 50 😂
We ate all of the dishes you mentioned, except that we wanted to have bak kut teh in Klang. We heard they make it really well there. Nasi Ganja in Ipoh was absolutely amazing and we included it in our Ipoh food video. Some off camera.
We didn’t go to Taman Connaught. Tried stinky tofu in Taiwan and 🤢🤢 - well at least for one of us 😂
Well the stinky tofu in Taman Connaught is absolutely delicious and different from the one in Taiwan. Yummy-licious!
Nice sharing ! 😍😋👌
Thank you!
Great video, thanks for sharing Malaysia food, thanks dear I am your new friend, I never eat Malaysia food,I l like your nice vlogs,
Thank you for watching!
I am so appreciative of how you have gone through the top 50 foods from Malaysia. I can’t wait to find a Malaysian restaurant near us that has a lot of these foods. We are going to go to the restaurant that Maria and Nabol went to...the one in Chicago.
It is our pleasure! Hard to narrow down the list and we got creative with the classifications. Hope you enjoy the food!
Gulai Ikan reminds us so much of the fish curry we have here in Goa! The spicy turmeric coconut gravy...! 🥥
You guys would love it!
Still remember the nasi kukus you had in the other video. It’s beautifully wrapped, and poured with beautiful red sauce. That got me salivating a lot 🤤
Yes! That gulai in the nasi kukus is so nice. Such a great dish
Learned a lot from your adventures. Had to have Rendang today for the first time at Wok Wok on Mott Street. Delish. As for roti dishes we always had them here in Staten Island being that we have a huge Sri Lankan community here but a lot of the stuff I never knew...
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed your rendang. Oh yeah we love the Sri Lankan roti dishes too like kottu
@@FoodandFootprints I had recently sought out a roti kottu dish after watching one of your videos. There's a place here in Staten Island called Randiwa Sri-Lankan, not Malaysian but they title the dish the same. I was in love. Immense portions for the price and fresh.
Heard good things about Randiwa! Love how Staten Island has a Sri Lankan community
@@FoodandFootprints Yes the largest Sri Lankan population outside of the country itself is in Staten Island. There’s so many new restaurants lately...
Straight into the food, nice. We still need to try making that blue rice. Heck yes to roti canai. It's one of our new favorite things.
Lontong kering n basah, both my fav.
Full of flavor!
@@FoodandFootprints Yummy. 😁😁😁
Mann....you guys knows more Malaysian food then me Malaysian 😅
😂😂 being able to travel around to a bunch of states allowed us to try so many dishes
uhhmm. this is more like 50 foods we need to eat, right now.. :O
That’s true! 😂
Missing Ramly burger so much!!!
You guys had triple beef patties, that’s crazy! 😆 hahaha
We went off! 😂
Yesss chilli pan mee, miss having it with you guys on New year! Daamn that roti sarang! 🤤
So glad we got to eat at Kin Kin together! It was perfect after the New Year festivities. Probably our most visited spot for food in KL, with Mansion Tea Stall coming in after that.
I've tried roti canai before when I went to Singapore a long time ago! Enjoyed it!
Roti canai is amazing!
You can't go wrong with durian!!!! A must have in malaysia!!!
You got that right!!
Ramadan is around the corner.. Cant wait for various of food that only found during Ramadan at Bazar Ramadan..
Can imagine! Sadly we missed out last year during the MCO
Thank you! We enjoyed nasi kuning in Terengganu but would love to try Sabah’s and the different variations. Sounds good with the serunding
Well interpreted!!!
Thank you!! We had a great time putting this together
It is really cool to learn all about those fusions from other countries. Anything fried is good especially 🦐. Hey I have the same flat top griddle like those guys. But they are much better cooks than I.
😂😂 Get that flat top cooking going!
Oh I miss Malaysia so much!!
For good reason! Malaysia is very special
Our favourite ones in this video:
Chilli pan mee, roti canai, durian, mee goreng mamak, wantan mee
😍🤤👌🏻
Great choices, guys! 👍👍
I've discovered the most amazing food through ya'll's channel
Thank you! Malaysia has so much incredible food to highlight
Very nice video sharing 👍
Thank you!
Yess pisang goreng 🙌🏻 In Indonesia, we have pisang goreng with margarine 😆
Oh man don’t know how we’d like it with margarine 😂
