This week we were notified by a lady who mentioned her Mom and Dad haven’t been able to mow their yard all year, Mom has some health issues and walks with a cane, husband recently died. What was really alarming is she almost collapsed in the 95 degree weather! As I drove down this dirt road, it was so far out in the country away from everything, I couldn’t even get cell signal. I arrived at the dead end road and noticed the swampy looking grass and I noticed something dangerous going across the yard which could kill someone instantly. Drop a comment and let me know your thoughts! As I walked around the property I noticed an awesome outbuilding and a beautiful 5 acres of lawn that even she didn’t think we could do!
Grab a coffee, toss your legs up on the chair and enjoy this lady’s story as you get to watch us mow this yard at least 5 times. Wait until you see her response at the end, this is why we do this! She was such a sweetheart! Should we go back? You bet, and we will have a massive surprise for her!

Someday those neighbors that won't help will need help and they won't find any one to help. People should help each other
Though true, my first thought was who would have the equipment to do her 5 acres? The sad reality is she’s no longer able to care for the place properly. It will happen to all of us at some point. Some sad decisions will need to be made by her or her family soon.
Jesus commanded: EVERYTHING YOU SAY, AND DO, SHALL COME BACK TO YOU.
So, yes, the neighbors will receive nothing for giving nothing.
My old neighbors always helped out we helped each other, when they moved on the new neighbors were not friendly or helpful. 32 years raised my kids etc and now it’s so very different. We have moved away for the better. Different times today.
@@firedog6614 God wished for us to take care of his garden filled with flora and fauna. Jesus gave his advice to us...to keep our communities small. Take care of the elderly, the young ones and the weak. If we do this all will go well for us. His biggest warning..don't let outsiders install banks.

I'm 74 my husband is 72 and we live in my old family home which sits on 2 and a half archers together we take care of the whole thing including a swimming pool I'm not sure how much longer we can do it we have 3 kids who are understandably not able to help they have jobs most all our grandkids are adults and have jobs and no time so we try hard no matter how hard it is we keep almost the entire properly mowed groomed even the house work we keep a clean and tidy home but I have to admit it would be nice if they could find some time for us even to come and visit,
3 kids and adult grandkids - have you tried telling them that you could use a little help? Nothing wrong with making your needs known as I'm sure you have helped them all their lives. Sometimes our family needs a reminder that we are getting older and could use some assistance.
My kids are the same way. They work 12 hours a day and weekends. I understand.❤
Maybe you could ask the kids for a lawn service for Christmas!?!?

No excusing your children and grandchildren! We are the same age and the ONLY reason why they can't help is because they live in different states than us. In your case, if they live nearby, they need to help mom and dad. One day both of you won't be here anymore, and they'll regret not spending time with you.
They can't devote ONE Saturday every other week to help? When did they turn so selfish? Kids, jobs, errands, cleaning, shopping--all the things that working people all over the world have to do, yet they somehow find the time to go to a movie, or the mall, or to the baseball game...again, no excuse.
That’s a lot of land to have to mow FIVE times!!I have tremendous respect and admiration for your hard work!! To say nothing of the people you help!! You are truly blessed with huge hearts!!

That’s an awful lot of grass to expect a neighbor to come and help mow! Thankfully you both have come and knocked this into a beautiful place.

@stephenwhetsell3334, If neighbors came to mow REGULARLY, even if only every 2 weeks, it's not nearly as difficult as what these two men were able to accomplish.

@@Crystal_Blue_Persuasion This is out in the country... those neighbors have their own acres to upkeep. Plus it's a scary time to go knocking on unknown people's doors out in the country. A lot of people are trigger-happy, and while I don't let that ruin my sense of community here, I think I'd want them to ask first before I took initiative. Some people are particular about their property and their lawns.
You're a good man Erik. You are right about the hatred. Some of my neighbors are not very neighborly but I try and set an example.

Yes , thank you ❤ People in the state I live in won't do anything but judge and I know how that lady feels . Some people from a big church came and brought me an air conditioner and asked if I needed anything else and I said I need a new door and washing machine cause mine was broke and they said they would also mow my lawn .......Guess what ?They lied , haven't seen them sense , smh . Maybe if I had the tools that you have I might have been able to keep my home. Now I’m surrounded by rocks🥺. Thank you for saving the Robin’s nest! I do worry about folks like yourself who go out and clean up yards like these. Stay safe, use sunscreen, take breaks, drink plenty of water, etc. But you know that don’t you. Outdoors with Erik, oh, it is beautiful there! The house and buildings there are not bad looking. The nice lady must felt closed in with all the growth. She must felt you men opened up the world for her again. She must get lonely her husband no longer living. I wonder if she has no family to see about her. They should lease that big field to a livestock rancher or farmer
I know many people who rent out their extra acherage to farmers. Or the large field could have left it in its natural state as a meadow. God bless their generosity!

Growing up I learned to recognize robin eggs by their distinctive color. These look to be a much darker blue. Whatever they are, thank you, Erik, for protecting them. She probably went to have her feathers done as the weather was hot enough to keep the nest warm. 😁😎
