CHARACTER ANIMATION COMPARISON | Wuthering Waves vs Genshin Impact
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 чер 2024
- This is an objective character animation comparison between the two open world RPG gacha game Wuthering Waves & Genshin Impact. Wuthering Waves has just been released last month, while Genshin Impact has been around since late 2020.
Normal attack and idle animations won't be included as both games have them. The same goes for skill and burst animations. This video will instead focus on the objective differences between the two games.
While we do acknowledge that Genshin is an older game, the comparison is still valid as it is not a technical or graphical comparison.

The ending lol, but true genshin really is so lazy with their animation
The fact every wuwa character has their own unique plunge attacks shows how creative the dev team is. In genshin every weapon Type has only one plunge attack 😂
Dont the catalysts have unique ones atleast
@@echo3568 blue ball, green ball, yellow ball, red ball 😂
@@Gheniel_ oh shit 💀
2:20 😂😂😂 hahahahhaha 😆
@@markleebatiquin9179 WAJAJA is the best twitch emote imo 😂
Calcharo killed Aerith with that downward stab in FF7
I like that wuwa has more personality. Each of them has individual animations, (except for gunner's aim-shot & aerial attack)
In genshin, you cant even tell difference between nauvelitte, Barbara, kokomi cuz all 3 turn into blue orb when they plunge. If you're catalyst of different element, then you will turn to orbs of different color but thats it.
Not to mention that when they do something original they remove it later, rip Rosaria spear kick T_T
Don't forget Rosaria's original model getting nerfed as well.
N the boba also got nerfed
Considering she was the only tall female polearm character at the time it seemed unique but that animation would definitely be used for other tall female polearm users like Raiden and Candace.
Wuwa also have 4 star ult animation while being small then gi so fk hoyo
The recycled animations in Genshin are one of the biggest reasons I never enjoyed that game. You get a brand new character, just to find out his animations are the same as other characters you already have. Its baffling to me people never complained about that.
They tried and were silenced because "Its not a big deal don't bully the multi billion dollar company for reusing animations"
Woah there, thousands of people have complained about it. Mihoyo literally does not care. They want your money, not your satisfaction.
@@jukesdtj656 my biggest issue with this community.
Im sorry but you make billions from gambling simulator, i can expect a higher quality from them.
mint pickers
what
And then, when Genshin finally had a chance to do something different with a female Melusine; they copped out and made her a short female human.
@@hblanche Billion dollar company with nuclear fusion reactor, btw
I love that wuwa has puppets and gautlets
The Ost in the background is Donglu research station
Now WuWa only needs stairs walking and jogging animation. Currently it doesn't have
True, I've noticed this and thought it was goofy. The walking down stairs is alright but walking up is funny.
That won't matter if you are fighting though.
i mean they can still do it if we ask for tho, wuwa only been released for 1-2months. and the fact that they listen to players and really cares about us shows that anything is possible unlike Genshin
Absolute state of mint pickers
honestly even if they (genhsin) have good basic attack animation you'll most of the time never get to see them cause all you do is press E and Q then switch.
you only see basic attacks if it's the core part of the gameplay which most of the time requires elemental infusion cause physical damage is pretty much useless and confuses me why can't they just remove it at this point lol.
@@sidpoggg If they remove Physical, a lot of the characters would lose value in some way. For example: Kazuha's C6, Diluc's infusion on ult, Ayaka's infusion on dash.
Basically it's something that has to be removed from as early as v1.0 ~ v1.1 if they want to do so.
Blue Archive chibis have more personality than Genshin. The absolute state.
it makes the characters actually look like they have personality
I died at the end LMAOOOOOOO
Bruh that ending was foul 😂
I honestly don't like Baizhi "plunge" attack. She look vulnerable midair after doing it and she just drop.
Any "mage" character's air attacks at this point, tbh.
I say, Genshin doesn't really need it animation to be overly flashy like Wuwa does since it core combat is alot different from Wuwa.
In Genshin where elemental reaction take the center stage they just need the animation clear precise and functional to work so there isn't more dozen things happening on screen, but there are exception to this with character that have specific mechanics that is emphasized with their own flashy animation when performing such task.
Like how Itto have his own unique Charge Attack and Clorinde and Childe skills turned them into different kind of playstyle with their own unique effects and many other character that also did this.
Wuwa combat being very straight forward without other stuff like elemental reaction like Genshin tie to it combat really needed the animation bump since if it doesn't it will fall flat and would be worse then Genshin does. So being over the top it really needed.
It's like comparing the Greek God of War to the Norse God of War game releases just recently.
Greek GoW needed it gameplay to be flashy while the Norse GoW doesn't need it combats to be overly flashy due to it different combat style compare to the Greek GoW.
@@Aibadenshi Are you sure you want to debate on whether WW's combat is more straightforward than Genshin?
@@GodSejeong You hit enemy with skills ultimate and what your character have, time parry, dodge attack, swap to apply buff and other effects.
Unless there are more then that tell me.
@@Aibadenshi You know that Genshin is basically skill-ultimate-reaction-swap, right? WW is skill-ultimate-swap (with effects!)-parry-dodge-Echoes-forte. Even the swap alone requires you to build up energy. This is before we apply Swap Cancel.
@@GodSejeong Both are the same generally when you play yes. Attack Skills Ultimate Swap and we can just goes in a fight throwing whatever we can at the enemy so they die.
But Wuwa mechanic is a lot homogeny and basic then Genshin does it why I said it more basic then Genshin does since it more less a Skills Check.
Parrying is Parrying.
Echo is just another skills.
Forte is unique depend on character like Genshin with some.
Intro/Outro is just slight extra effect when swapping.
While Genshin elements is despite being easy to master is like periodic table sort of deal.
@@Aibadenshi You are way overrating the elemental reaction. At best it's a DPS booster that requires almost nothing to master since they're more straightforward than any of the character's kit.
Reminder that if you're dismissing forte as something tied to character, elemental reaction is also something related to character as well.
my only problem with wuwa is the choreography
because like for Jianxin, she turns around, poses with her balls, then turns around again to actually hit the enemy...?
that feels so out of place for a martial arts master like Jianxin to do
Calcharo is okay but that animation is basically Xiao tier
the rest are fine tho my main problem was Jianxin's ult
and ig Jinhsi's ult too because it doesnt feel like a hit it feels like she is just striking a pose or buffing herself
1.okay first Jianxin is a Taoist monk martial artist and her animation is gorgeous even Animation professional reaction video on every character in wuwa says her ult is beautiful her animation is graceful and you're the first person i see that dislike her animation but it's okay because it's your opinion (no one ask tho)
2.just don't compare Genshin animation to wuwa please Yuanwu a 4* animation alone is better, impactful, detailed and cool than any genshin animation to this day
3.Xiao kit was to jump up and down which animation you think is at the same level as Calcharo? none....
4.Jinhsi's ult is the most beautiful ult in the entire gacha game industry and she was supposed to pose because the dragon is the one hitting the enemies tho?? after every attack she pose gracefully, she even have a walking animation after her attack it's so obvious like why do you have problem with this??
5.Every genshin character have at least 1 reuse animation like attacks, skills, ultimates. NPC are reused. cutscene animation are reused that's a multimillion company with a game that was 4years old not improving anything for players i bet they throw their money into the nuclear reactor program
@@N.biebie8428 bro chill i said his ULT is xiao tier
its just a simple 1 second pose there isnt much to it, its whatever, the rest of his ult state is very well animated tho
and my problem with Jianxin isnt the animation its the choreography, the animation is fine i just dont see why she turns around twice, why is she posing mid battle like its a photo shoot
jesus cant even have little nit picks on this community
oh and about Yuanwu, Yuanwu's ult has good impact (not really my fucking screen spasms out a lot when doing has ult its so weird) but thats just Wriothesley's ult level at MOST
DRAMA MAMA
Well at least Genshin has a stable network
www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact/comments/j133yz/bug_megathread_10/
Reminder that no games are safe from bug during release nowadays.
Well at least WuWa didn’t have that Elemental Crucible event on release as their first event
What a mint picker take.
you're not there when it launch and trust me Genshin was just as bad but back then there's no competition so players don't have anything to compare it with but now people have genshin to compare with wuwa
Genshin really scammed the sht out of its players, literally 50% just a recycle of the older characters. Thts just messed up.
Genshin could never 😂
The video: 🤓😌😯🙂
The ending: 💀💀🤣😂👹💩👽🤡😹
Lol
XDDDD
Lazy dev ever
When it comes to move set animations wuwa obviously more superior bc uniqueness (their 3d face/head model alone almost unique each character) the benefit of new generation game, genshin could never
but when it comes to animations quality genshin still reasonably more polished than wuwa, genshin animations has more finesse, since their focus leaning towards aesthetic (they fleshed out on how the frills/fabrics designed in clothes/costume to appear beautiful to look at when character moves as example, the clothes physics has typical genshin's smooth animation that wuwa could never, for now maybe)
Each game has different creative decision approach or focus
Are you sure about that?
I already know which one has better outfit animation + detail (it's WW). Might upload a video on that just for you.
Interesting
Don't compare it based how detailed the outfit animated because the outfit details design on wuwa mostly more detailed
Compare the quality on how the fabrics/outfit frills, hair, etc animated when they move.
Genshin is more exaggerating to make it more accentuate, which make the physics more pleasant to look at.
Maybe compare elegant vs elegant such as xianyun vs jinhsi
@@doy130 I won't really focus on whether exaggeration is good or not because then Taoqi's uh, those, can be seen as a bad example of exaggerated animation (subjective tho, people love it)
@@doy130 ua-cam.com/video/qszIkLssgJ8/v-deo.html
The video
Uh I was talking about the general principle of the technique but sure could apply for those kind jiggle physics too.
But I'm talking about a fluid movement of some object element you can see its mass, exaggerated animation comes into play to some degree for that dramatic effect, wuwa lacked in that aspect compared to genshin from what I observe (reasonable for genshin bc their asset/model segment more simple, 'easier' to polish and flesh out)
Peoole are really feeling good comparing a game with a 4 year old game. And making a logic out of it, and see no problem in literally everything in wuwa (ui) copied from genshin
Four years old means nothing if the game is a live service, meaning that it can be constantly improved especially with the amount of revenue earned. Reminder: Genshin completely renewed their team deployment menu 3 years into development. For comparison, Limbus Company did this not even a year after their launch.
Also, Genshin's UI is a rip off from typical Ubisoft games. Just like how HSR ripped off Tales of Crestoria's UI. The reason why no sane people would bring this up is because UI is not about originality, but practicality.
When it comes to UI and UX, if it works, there's no need to change. Can it be improved? Yeah but there's no point fixing what's not broken.
Bruh genshin’s ui is something common in many mobile games lmao, in fact most gacha games have similar ui(I’m talking about non-open world ones).
It seems that you never touched any non-hoyo gacha game before
@@GodSejeongyep, and I think genshin players are the first one to nitpick about ui, when many games with the same genre has similar ui(take a look at dark souls and nioh for example)
