So excited to be in New York City on the Hudson River and just watched "The Andesborg" pass my house! Keep up the great work Wagenborg! proud to see you on the Hudson River in the U.S and we welcome you all!
When I was in my 20s I worked for Xerox Corp on mechanical equipment, and I enjoyed the work very much. to see such a complex organized mechanical phenomenon being brought together, now that I'm in my 70s, is still kind of thrilling. Good work! :)
Hats off to the men and women that put all this together. Having to work on the fly to design and re-engineer as they go, a challenging task indeed. Natasha was absolutely stunning, what with her brains and beauty then at the end of the program she rocked that Zepplin sweatshirt... be still my heart ❤! The vessel was an exceptional feat of engineering as well.
No rolling when embarking and disembarking, but what about the trip from land to the rig and back in rough seas? Helicopters have no sea sickness in rough seas!
They do unfortunately lose their rotor head and shaft assembly at 2000 feet, have their entire tail rotor gearbox blown off the tail by a lightning strike mid flight, crash an landing, crash on take off, crash in transit to and from rigs, experience controlled flight into terrain (sea), experience gearbox failure in flight, ditch into sea, capsize on contact with sea, to name but a few...
Yes the same thing the mohawk were thinking, do these Dutch on Manhattan (New Amsterdam) all called Jan and Kees when they visited them to traid furs. They started to call them the Yankees . Don’t know if it is true but makes sense.
At 11:14 what are those wedge jacks called? Those are real cool. I can not find hammer style ones in web search, which I am doing now. I move stuff, much lighter than ships, but jacks like this I am interested in.
Wish the creators of this documentary would have shown how they installed the 2 bow thrusters. It probably would have to be, undoubtedly another separate video due to the complex nature of the install.
That's not fair the crew gets to fly in\out of Den Helder. We get crammed like sardines into the back of a shitty little Citroen mini bus from Schipol and half the time there is no trailer for our suitcases so they have to be stuffed in any leftover space in the bus. Also i must say what a Bloody Amazing piece of kit these walk 2 work Gangways are
3:18, sorry, but I live in Groningen, and this city is more than 3 times the size of Assen. If you're gonna do sizes on maps, do it right ffs. The ship is really cool though. It aint much if it aint Dutch holds true again
All that tech and a guy filling in a paper sheet log with tank level against a bulkhead with a ballpoint pen, super modern😂 good job it wasn't raining or job stopped for bad weather
It's standard procedure and the logs are considered a legal document. Most of the middle and upper management were all keeping written notes throughout the project. Everything is controlled and monitored electronically of course but we all know that it can fail.
The only thing really special about this ship is the video, just a long sales commercial video for this ship... I am sure its a good ship for its intended work but for me its just another offshore vessel. Also it has a bit of a weird design, Tall and unproportioned...
This "documentary" is an obvious advertisement for a ship yard who only have build smaller ships before. They don't even have a building dock / dry dock. Every modern and seriouse shipbuilding yard has that. Therefor they just have to launch the ship sideways into the water - in a big splash. I guess they got the contract by taking a risk and offering the lowest building cost. There are many other yards/companies - and with much more resources - who could build such a ship. But that would cost more.....
The shipbuilders took on an outstanding challenge, to incorporate so many differing aspects into one compact vessel, and to complete in such a short timeframe. They fulfilled their obligations superbly, and have every reason to feel proud of their achievement! These were the only people capable of meeting all of the challenges, hence they built it.
Thrilled watching the birth of this impressive and majestic innovation built with a wonderful team effort that overcame the seemingly impossible!
Interesting , Thank You . A fine example of teamwork and inovative design
Well done Dutch people !!!! A Greek guy with little experience salutes your innovative ideas , Greetings good people you got my respect !

I love how disciplined and enthusiastic all these men work
You will suprise people from southeast asia and japanese are more disciplined
I can't praise both this technological innovation and the quality of this video presentation enough. Amazing and excellent on both scores.
The music was a bit much, and the end is very heavy handed, but otherwise good
Liam Thompson: Beautifully said!
Edited to clarify whom my comment was in response to.
i wanted more details and fewer ppl telling me it is amazing.
I couldn't turn away from this video.
Because I fell asleep watching it.
I'm happy you just manage to comment.
Otherwise nobody knew.

What an interesting looking ship. The design and engineering involved is fascinating.
Joined-up thinking. Great ideas and video. The best ideas come together, when people do. . Thank you for sharing here. Jack.
Great video. Very very interesting technology. Thank you.
Interesting improvement on work vessel and Bravo.
A.N.Asikin.
Thank you for showing us very high technology

Materials and personal in 1 go.
If the wind is blowing to hard your not allowed to fly aswell.
Amazing and Mind blowing. Top Marks for this absolute innovative Project and all People involved. 🍀

A very interesting ship...😉
Excellent video! Very interesting and educational. Will the Kroonborg have any sister ships?
Ragnar.
Good job
And when you retire the ship, one can always re design it into a luxury super yacht...
happy cruise voyage!
Im hoping to be part of this family soon 🙏
Heel mooi om te zien.. Staaltje Holland glorie..

bagaimana caranya bekerja di offshore, dan syarat lengkapnya apa saja 😅 saya pengen sekali
imagine if britain had developed it's shipbuilding and maritime industries instead of killing them off. well done netherlands.
The Netherlands was doing it upmost best to kill it too
That's one cool ship.
i want to buy one of them ships ..where can i get one from ...?
Stunning engineering.
lost count of the number of guys named "Jan".
Yes the same thing the mohawk were thinking, do these Dutch on Manhattan (New Amsterdam) all called Jan and Kees when they visited them to traid furs.

Did anyone catch the name of the 3D modeling software mentioned in 7:16 ?
Bedankt voor deze docu.
Mag ik die in mijn lessen scheepsbouw gebruiken?
Is weer eens wat anders dan Mega Ship Builders van Discovery.

I don't think so otherwise maintenance is a complexe job as well.
And as a ship builder you don't want to get yourself in that situation.
Just a days work...slide 'em in and wire up the electric power...
26:37 They do...LOL
Where can the hardhat what looks like retractable eye protection be purchased please
A Marinha de Guerra tem as três Armas fuzileiros, aeronaval e o naval que dá assistência a todos.

i would like to see this vessel in 20m waves
It can handel 10 meter waves.
I think if there are 20 m waves ther is no supply that day.
Could someone tell me what the sound tracks are.
This is when some dick says Darude Sandstorm...
They are a musical accompaniment played as a backing track to a film or video, but that's not important right now!
well thats what i do in my Room in my freetime in much smaller scale but i use a 3d printer and ASA instead of Steel and Aluminum...
im glad that is saw kroonborg in delfzijl

Didn't even talk about the hull design... Sheesh.
That`s amazing

Interesting that nearly everything was in English.

Sailing to work then right?? Better work being done in South Korea
