- A motion compensated Ampelmann gangway system, world’s first heave compensated Barge Master T40 crane, DP2 system, Voith Schneider Propellers and bow thrusters, chemical supply and Cold start-up unit, 500m2 free deck space, a fast rescue craft, daughter craft and accommodation facilities for 60 people on board.
One by one essential features which are pretty common for an offshore vessel. But by combining these specs in one single design- like a kind of Swiss knife - you will get a unique vessel the world has not seen before. Enabling offshore activities to be executed more safe and efficient.
NAM and Shell UK combined their forces with Royal Wagenborg and shipyard Royal Niestern Sander, which resulted in the world’s first maintenance support walk to work vessel.
This is the epic story about the ‘KROONBORG’, the result of the innovative Walk-to-Work project. A Dutch project that will change the entire offshore industry.
Interesting , Thank You . A fine example of teamwork and inovative design
Thrilled watching the birth of this impressive and majestic innovation built with a wonderful team effort that overcame the seemingly impossible!
very good video
Well done Dutch people !!!! A Greek guy with little experience salutes your innovative ideas , Greetings good people you got my respect !
When I was in my 20s I worked for Xerox Corp on mechanical equipment, and I enjoyed the work very much. to see such a complex organized mechanical phenomenon being brought together, now that I'm in my 70s, is still kind of thrilling. Good work! :)
I couldn't turn away from this video.
Because I fell asleep watching it.
I'm happy you just manage to comment.
Otherwise nobody knew.
I love how disciplined and enthusiastic all these men work
You will suprise people from southeast asia and japanese are more disciplined
I can't praise both this technological innovation and the quality of this video presentation enough. Amazing and excellent on both scores.
The music was a bit much, and the end is very heavy handed, but otherwise good
Liam Thompson: Beautifully said!
Edited to clarify whom my comment was in response to.
i wanted more details and fewer ppl telling me it is amazing.
So excited to be in New York City on the Hudson River and just watched "The Andesborg" pass my house! Keep up the great work Wagenborg! proud to see you on the Hudson River in the U.S and we welcome you all!
Awesome!
Hats off to the men and women that put all this together. Having to work on the fly to design and re-engineer as they go, a challenging task indeed. Natasha was absolutely stunning, what with her brains and beauty then at the end of the program she rocked that Zepplin sweatshirt... be still my heart ❤!
The vessel was an exceptional feat of engineering as well.
I think her name is Saskia.
what an epic documentary !
all the tech and know how is facinating !
What an interesting looking ship. The design and engineering involved is fascinating.
Great video. Very very interesting technology. Thank you.
Joined-up thinking. Great ideas and video. The best ideas come together, when people do. . Thank you for sharing here. Jack.
A.N.Asikin.
Thank you for showing us very high technology
Leuke docu, bar slecht Engels! Wat een vertoning!
Gelukkig is het geen reclame voor een taal cursus
Interesting improvement on work vessel and Bravo.
very interesting, Excellent video I proud with the Ducht people.
Waarin een kleine land GROOT kan zijn! Chapeau!

Beautiful ship; great video!
Amazing and Mind blowing. Top Marks for this absolute innovative Project and all People involved. 🍀
happy cruise voyage!
Simply wonderful engineering. Respect.
船づくりって街を作るみたいに壮大だな。そして面白そう。
Gorgeous!
Heel mooi om te zien.. Staaltje Holland glorie..
Nice video ,I love it. I enjoy watching.
Fantastic!
A very interesting ship...😉
Great job 🙏🙏🙏
very nice.
That's one cool ship.
Stunning engineering.
22:30 - "Eh, what's up, doc?"
wewd hahahahahahaha prime
Good job
No rolling when embarking and disembarking, but what about the trip from land to the rig and back in rough seas? Helicopters have no sea sickness in rough seas!
They do unfortunately lose their rotor head and shaft assembly at 2000 feet, have their entire tail rotor gearbox blown off the tail by a lightning strike mid flight, crash an landing, crash on take off, crash in transit to and from rigs, experience controlled flight into terrain (sea), experience gearbox failure in flight, ditch into sea, capsize on contact with sea, to name but a few...
Now you just need 1 trip.
Materials and personal in 1 go.
If the wind is blowing to hard your not allowed to fly aswell.
Good job bro
All that tech and a guy filling in a paper sheet log with tank level against a bulkhead with a ballpoint pen, super modern😂 good job it wasn't raining or job stopped for bad weather
It's standard procedure and the logs are considered a legal document. Most of the middle and upper management were all keeping written notes throughout the project. Everything is controlled and monitored electronically of course but we all know that it can fail.
And when you retire the ship, one can always re design it into a luxury super yacht...
Im hoping to be part of this family soon 🙏
Excellent video! Very interesting and educational. Will the Kroonborg have any sister ships?
Ragnar.
Wish the creators of this documentary would have shown how they installed the 2 bow thrusters. It probably would have to be, undoubtedly another separate video due to the complex nature of the install.
I don't think so otherwise maintenance is a complexe job as well.
And as a ship builder you don't want to get yourself in that situation.
Just a days work...slide 'em in and wire up the electric power...
26:37 They do...LOL
That`s amazing
Prachtig project !
lost count of the number of guys named "Jan".
Yes the same thing the mohawk were thinking, do these Dutch on Manhattan (New Amsterdam) all called Jan and Kees when they visited them to traid furs.
They started to call them the Yankees . Don’t know if it is true but makes sense.
imagine if britain had developed it's shipbuilding and maritime industries instead of killing them off. well done netherlands.
The Netherlands was doing it upmost best to kill it too
Very good
Succes your chanel
im glad that is saw kroonborg in delfzijl
Bedankt voor deze docu.
Mag ik die in mijn lessen scheepsbouw gebruiken?
Is weer eens wat anders dan Mega Ship Builders van Discovery.
ziet er goed uit :)
I'm in love with the girl in the led zeppelin t-shirt...
bagaimana caranya bekerja di offshore, dan syarat lengkapnya apa saja 😅 saya pengen sekali
At 11:14 what are those wedge jacks called? Those are real cool. I can not find hammer style ones in web search, which I am doing now. I move stuff, much lighter than ships, but jacks like this I am interested in.
That's not fair the crew gets to fly in\out of Den Helder. We get crammed like sardines into the back of a shitty little Citroen mini bus from Schipol and half the time there is no trailer for our suitcases so they have to be stuffed in any leftover space in the bus. Also i must say what a Bloody Amazing piece of kit these walk 2 work Gangways are
A Marinha de Guerra tem as três Armas fuzileiros, aeronaval e o naval que dá assistência a todos.
i would like to see this vessel in 20m waves
It can handel 10 meter waves.
I think if there are 20 m waves ther is no supply that day.
They got the idea from a wooden shoe!
Where can the hardhat what looks like retractable eye protection be purchased please
Did anyone catch the name of the 3D modeling software mentioned in 7:16 ?
well thats what i do in my Room in my freetime in much smaller scale but i use a 3d printer and ASA instead of Steel and Aluminum...
Good Afternoon, I Love you so much,.
i want to buy one of them ships ..where can i get one from ...?
Didn't even talk about the hull design... Sheesh.
What happened since Brexit?
3:18, sorry, but I live in Groningen, and this city is more than 3 times the size of Assen. If you're gonna do sizes on maps, do it right ffs.
The ship is really cool though. It aint much if it aint Dutch holds true again
Interesting that nearly everything was in English.
The first one is BP British Petroleum the rig operator he's a member good friend of mine I won. There Expedition card one of a kind
Could someone tell me what the sound tracks are.
This is when some dick says Darude Sandstorm...
They are a musical accompaniment played as a backing track to a film or video, but that's not important right now!
Once I Want to Work Boat Supply Ship In The Feel Good With Secured clincher Safety

NEDERLAND LOVLY CONTRY I DIT NOW DE MEC BEST YACHT IN WORLD

Ouch ! Good catch.
Too late for a career change since I recently retired.
The only thing really special about this ship is the video, just a long sales commercial video for this ship... I am sure its a good ship for its intended work but for me its just another offshore vessel. Also it has a bit of a weird design, Tall and unproportioned...
The Ampellman system is just an other system.
alleen de kantoor mensen aan het word zonder de mensen op de werk vloer geen schip
Could have built 3 of these elsewhere. Talking about milking a project. That’s just a opinion. Everyone smiling about there paychecks

Benefits of non multicultural society's.
he has filling "Risk assesment" papers, this useless paper in any offshore company
😑 looks like someone does not want to his job 😒
Its a shit boat, to many flaws
Well call them and they let you build the next one.
This "documentary" is an obvious advertisement for a ship yard who only have build smaller ships before.
They don't even have a building dock / dry dock.
Every modern and seriouse shipbuilding yard has that. Therefor they just have to launch the ship sideways into the water - in a big splash.
I guess they got the contract by taking a risk and offering the lowest building cost.
There are many other yards/companies - and with much more resources - who could build such a ship. But that would cost more.....
The shipbuilders took on an outstanding challenge, to incorporate so many differing aspects into one compact vessel, and to complete in such a short timeframe.
They fulfilled their obligations superbly, and have every reason to feel proud of their achievement!
These were the only people capable of meeting all of the challenges, hence they built it.
The problem is that they dont have the technology to finish it.
who else wanted to see the crew quarters ect ?
Sailing to work then right?? Better work being done in South Korea
