    26:40 I was curios why the MÆRSK MC-KINNEY MØLLER was getting an escort until I saw the flag. The warship appears to be the HNLMS Van Speijk, a 3,000 ton Dutch frigate. This was an entertaining video. Thanks for posting it.

    This is brilliant!!! I love it....BUT...could you possibly post a second version with the natural sounds of the wind, the sea, the engines, the port facilities etc? It would be much better. Someone else's idea of good music is always very subjective and personally I have to watch it with the volume down as the music is just distracting. What a pity to miss all those delicious ship and sea sounds. Please, please please consider my request! :-)

      Most of this very nice documentary is made of time lapse photography, which means no sound was recorded unless Yaroslav had another camera or recording device. And "real time" sound synced with time lapse video (ie: ultra fast) might feel odd.

I would like to know exactly where this ship is today September 29, 2021, I am very interested to know. On board is a great friend that I miss a lot. Blessings and may God protect you from the fury of the sea and pirates ... I will be attentive to see again the next trip aboard this immense ship.

    There must be like a million containers with Maersk on them in the world? Awesome video, thanks for making it. Have you encountered any rough seas yet? How did she handle it being the worlds physically biggest ship? Not sure of she is the heaviest?

    • @DylRicho

      Johan Nissen The Triple-E class is the largest class of container ship out there. Not far behind the largest ships of all time, such as the Seawise Giant.

    • @TheChiefEng
      @TheChiefEng 10 років тому +1

      You can call it the largest ship in the world today by size (not DWT) since the ships, that were previously larger in size, have all been scrapped. They do not exist anymore so that makes the Triple E Class the largest ships in the world by measurement (Length). There are ships that are wider but not longer.
      With respect to weight then in DWT the super tankers still rule supreme.

    • @DylRicho
      @DylRicho 10 років тому

      TheChiefEng Precisely.

    • @marksapollo
      @marksapollo 10 років тому

      TheChiefEng That was my point, she is the largest ship AFLOAT TODAY. But I suspect some cruise ship will be built that's bigger, one day.

    Why are they still loading cargo containers one at a time? Why are they not being bundled ten or twenty at a time and loaded in pre-stacked blocks. These ships are big, the loading equipment should also be big. One at a time is too slow when you are loading a ship that can carry thousands of containers. Turn around time is money!

    • @ErnstLabuschagne1
      @ErnstLabuschagne1 6 років тому

      The containers are loaded according to the order in which they will be offloaded and the content(some are refrigerated, some not-they need power to keep them cool) and also the weight as they have to balance the ship.

    Ярослав, спасибо Вам большое за этот великолепный, невероятно интересный и зрелищный фильм. Я его посмотрел на одном дыхании и получил массу удовольствия. Фильм еще и познавательный. Корабль конечно грандиозный, и благодаря таким фильмам - мы - простые смертные обычные люди, имеем счастливую возможность приобщиться к жизни моряков, прикоснуться к таким грандиозным кораблям, и испытать благоговение перед мощью человеческой инженерной мысли, перед грандиозностью гения человека как творца и со-творца. Вызывает трепет мысль о том, что, такое сложное и огромное морское судно - полностью автоматизировано и управляется командой всего лишь из 19-34 человек.
