- In this series I will take you through a step by step build of the Airfix 1/72 De Havilland Mosquito PRXVI kit.
Aimed at beginners, I hope to show lots of simple tips and tricks to boost the confidence of less experienced modellers, and to maybe add some polish for the more accomplished. Lots of detail, and yes, lots of talking! In this one, there's some bonus neighbourly power washing sound as well ....

airfix mosquito was my favourite through childhood -60 years ago - such a beautiful aircraft !!
Excellent start Jen. Looking forward to following the build to the end. Thanks for deciding to do this series for beginners and as a refresher for more experience modellers like me who have got into lazy bad habits!
I didn't know about this kit, but it would be good company for my Tamiya FB! Following this build with interest -good choice of markings too. 👍
Glad your doing one of my favorite planes of WWII. Your presentation is just the right tone and pace.
Very nice video your attention to detail is awesome I myself have been building for 50 years now I enjoy watching this and learn a few things I am always on the lookout for new things can always learn something new 😊
Been modelling a fair while now, but we'll join in this build. Bound to pick up some new skills. Looking forward to part two.😊
Ok. So Amazon order in, going to build while you build. Lets see how many bad habits or laziness I've developed through the years.
kit on order.. should arrive next week, so need to check have right tool, really excited about this.tx Mark
Actually building this kit at the moment, Great video, will watch with interest :)
A very good beginners video, looking forward to seeing the rest of the series.
Ordered the kit today be here tomorrow. Looking forward to the next part. Thanks for all the helpful tips so far.
Nice. I love the Mossie and haven't built a kit in over 30 years, so techniques have changed. I look forward to this tutorial, I may well give it a go over the dark winter nights.
Thank you for doing a beginners assembly video. I am always looking for tips to improve my skills.
just discovered this on episode 6 and ordered the kit - hopefully I can catch up -
I'm just building this kit at the Moment Jen, so I will watch this one with interest!
Very informative I'll be watching all the other parts thank you
that control yolk makes me laugh !!! totally not to scale like 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is a good idea. Not sure it's really a beginners kit though.
Really cool 👍
Hi Jen, big fan of the channel. Built the earlier boxing of this one and it’s a great little kit and good choice for the tutorial. One quick thought, some “Talc” products are now cornflower based and can have a rapid smoking reaction with CA. Real talcum or French chalk should be fine but in the USA that’s getting harder to find.
I stocked up last year on real talc as I knew this year they were going to move away from the chalk based stuff.
Thoroughly enjoyed part one jen. Any chance of zooming in just a little bit more closely 👍looking forward to part two.
💪💪
thanks for mentioning hand steadiness Jen... that's a potential (psychological) blocker for folks not gifted 95th percentile fine motor control...
I believe the kits get weighed before they leave the tamiya factory to ensure all sprues are there,i dont know about other companies though
Great video Jen, I bought this kit specifically for this when you first mentioned the idea. I hope to start next week and build along with you. Just a quick question though, do you need to wash the parts first?
Love the Mossie, second only to the Spiyfire.
I lashed-out & bought a pair of Despai Nippers last year, best tool investment ive ever made ! Not cheap, but worth every cent IMHO.
