Want to say, i dont usually comment much....but i have to say it is so nice to see such thoroughly decent guys (both of you) doing skilled decent work and that are humble and kind and honest. It goes very far nowadays because with channels it is few and far between within social media. Have been watching for a long time (well over a year) to me this is a special channel, it is a breath of fresh air as there is so much junk out there so thank you for making a top class channel for your members.

Another fantastic video again chaps. Still surprises me how manufacturers have to integrate the airbag into the dash so you have to replace the whole lot rather than have a separate airbag you can just replace. You've made some serious progress on this so it can't be far away from being done now 🙂👍🏻

That small thing on the dashboard is a sun radiation sensor. If you have lots of sun radiation like in the summer you need colder air to have a similar temperature sensation in the car, when it’s cloudy you don’t need that much cold air. The HVAC system uses this sensor together with other to decide how cold or warm should the air be that enters the cabin so the people feel comfortable.

sunload sensor in the middle of the dash rob, basically it turns the AC up if the sun starts to shine
when running an AC diag, they all come up as faulty, because you are in the garage, [no sun]
4:30you definitely don't want to get confused + put it in the wrong hole, but taking pictures is risky
7:25, come on, fess up, what wire did you leave on, in the OS of dash... keep up the excellent work chaps

Wait till you've got the front end built up then try the airbag codes again, I'm sure theres a sensor for the airbags somewhere on the bumper, any vw I take a bumper off of it throws an airbag fault, you'll also get and faults withe radar being unplugged as well 🙂

The car now looks the right shape, with paint, once the remaining items are put, clipped, screwed and bolted in place, it will be a nice car to sell on, hopefully clearing a profit along the way. Have a great weekend, so you can be ready for next week's challenges.

Great video as usual gents! Here in Canada I don't think we can buy any airbags or airbag kits for liability reasons. The only place to get them is the dealer and I doubt they would sell them unless they install them. I don't think auto recyclers are allowed to sell them either. In a lot of cases, unless the airbags have a panel that pops out, the car is written off if the airbags go off, even if the impact damage is relatively minor. It's great that you have access to so many second hand parts that would be unobtanium here! Have a great weekend!

It's legal to sell recycled airbags in Ontario. There's nothing wrong with rebuilding and reusing one of the safety devices in this province, either, even after it's been in an accident. And there are no industry-wide standards for tracking airbags once they've been removed from one car and plopped into another.

Well done again you two, am not a Vw fan but that looks a nice little motor.....👍👍
Always seems such a waste to me having to remove the whole dash just to replace a passenger airbag, but guess there must be a reason they are built that way?....Or its so it just becomes too daunting a job for the mere mortals amongst us!...😄😄
