Great video to watch! Thanks to all of you for being part of it! Nice to see your younger sons building life experience and for Mother G to be out and part of the fun. Dad is knowledgeable and equipped as always! You had a couple of good drivers there too, I'd say! Where was your eldest? Thanks again!
I made a float out of 5/4 oak with 1/2”x1/2” grooving slats that I think we’re 4” apart. I think it was around 32” wide. Rounded all the edges and bought a neck at white cap to attach to your aluminum pole. The depth and spacing of the grooves I found in an old article by Temple Grandin on the subject. It worked incredibly well. The concrete guys thought it was amazing. We ran it straight then a second time at a 45 degree angle. Then after grooving we did a heavy broom finish. The old man should be able to whip something up like that. I was gonna email pics but I didn’t see an email address. You guys really do make great videos. Thanks for taking the time to film!
You all work so good together. You young lads impressed me so much. You will never look back some day and say I regret working hard on the farm helping my mom & dad. You are fine young men and should be proud of yourselves. God Bless every farmer and his hard working family for putting food on our tables!
Great team work and seeing everyone pitch in and get it done.It will be worth it come spring time when things get muddy or easier cleaning up the cow manure. Thanks for sharing and may all of you continue to be safe and blessed.
Truly a Gierok Family effort! How well you all work together and Mrs.G comes out and encourages all to finish the project. On our farm there was never enough concrete during the wet times! Hopefully this will solve some of your problems!
Enjoyed this video, did not see dad hollering and giving instructions so you guys are old hands at concrete laying. My 1st time laying concrete with dad a lot of instruction and hollering but we( my brothers and I) learn to lay concrete that we built a swimming pool in ground next to house water well; that was some work and the only time we did not have farm animal tracks in concrete
Love spending my days with your amazing Wisconsin farm family your videos and a cup of coffee is all I need to start my day.Blessings to your family and have a great week!!!😊
Every pad of cement we poured has kitty tracks. Like you said George, livestock on the farm leaves a print. (Not related to the video but i was thinking about Darby and hopefully she is doing well.)
Very nice video guys I farm and also do carpenter work concrete is around 200 a yard here in Pennsylvania what us the price of it up your way love your guys videos
We did similar concrete work years ago expanding our barn yard . Hired a concrete mixer we did our own prep work, dad made a long handle trowel board. A took an old 5 prong pitch fork with a long Handle for traction .great job everyone!
Nice combined family effort. Should be better not to have to deal with mud and slop when moving livestock and equipment. You all ought to sleep well tonight!!! That's not an easy job working concrete.
Wouldn't it be good to have dug out deeper and put about 4" of like class 5 gravel under that concrete? You must really get a lot of runoff off of that steep sidehill?????
Even old bent woven fencing works great . Just after pouring , lay flattered pieces of old metal fencing on it and stepping it in as you smoothing it out .
The ground that you were pouring on looks to dry . If that's the case it will suck the moisture to fast . Shorting and weakening the life of the concrete .
The guy running the mixer does a very good
Yeah for sure. You got a great driver
Amazing how your family works together so well. Congratulations to all of you
the young lads are on their way to apprentices. it is good to see families working together. Love the videos.
Momma Gierok I loved your explanation….❤❤❤❤Much love for the Gierok Family🙏🏻🙏🏻
Nice when Mrs. G shows the boys how it's done!
The boss has a nice t-shirt greetings from Switzerland
Very satisfying project. In the muddy spring you never have enough concreate for the cows.
😂at 11:48 when George drops the broom after the dog steps in the concrete, that was good, been there done that 😂, thanks for another great video
I wonder why we don't have this kind of front load concrete mixer in Europe. They do a great job.
No matter how routine or random your videos are great! So real and relatable. Thanks for sharing.
Your place is beautiful!!!

Many hands make light(er) the work. What a perfect time to have several strong young men in the family! Always enjoy your videos, thank you!
Thanks for showing the process and not just the final product. I appreciate every video you guys produce.
Awesome job Mary & the Boy's! Thats how we pour concrete here on the farm in SE MN.
I will bet the concrete driver is having a good laugh
Just one beautiful farm!
A dream farm for me! Perfect size and location

Great job! George, you are so knowledgeable about so many things and such a hard worker.
Nice shirt George
Great job explaining grooved concrete. And every concrete pour on the farm needs critter tracks. Ours usually had cat tracks.
Great day to pour cement. If it is too hot the cement likes to setup too fast!! Not fun!! Thanks 😊.

Wish i had that driver yesterday, guy just piled it up behind me
Looks good, that front discharge truck makes it look easy.
The man has his own long handled float. Not his first rodeo! Great looking pour, and video!

Amazing what a good driver can do with those front unloading trucks. They can save the ground crew a lot of work
Nice looking job. Going to be nice come winter. Thanks for sharing the video.
the boys are great help
good job.
Enjoyed the concrete work. Nice to see the young men working hard. You should be proud of them
Small upgrades to a time keep things nice 😊

Nice work with the concrete. You did well!

Looking nice! Growing up we always did projects as a family. Everyone pitched in to get job done
Nice job 😊
Thanks for posting
Enjoy all the videos
Great video

Congratulations on a job well done, I enjoyed seeing your improvement projects.

Nice video, brings back memories of pouring cow and hog floors.
Great job men looks good 👍
Good job working together with your family 😊
Good job!!
Hello from Shelby N.C. Great video. Love watching you guys work (and mom). Thanks for sharing.
Cowpies mmmmm! Reminds me of grannies meatloaf, she used a piepan for meatloaf! I bought her a proper cast iron loaf pan from Cracker Barrel.
❤😊 ALREADY SUBSCRIBED A LONG TIME AGO MOM ❤😊
Everyone works so hard there. Great job! 🐾🐓🐾 Looking forward to the day when mom gets her cow brush. 😉
Being on a farm, thought you might put some extra woven wire down for more strength - just thinking’ 😎
All the cement l have put down has cat tracks in themlol. Chickens and ducks are fenced off!
Nice combined family effort. Should be better not to have to deal with mud and slop when moving livestock and equipment. You all ought to sleep well tonight!!! That's not an easy job working concrete.
Have you figured where to put the cow brush?
Chicken tracks are better than duck prints.
The old man out work the young men so bad reminds me with my son work circle around him great video
Is there any fiber in the mix? Just curious
Wouldn't it be good to have dug out deeper and put about 4" of like class 5 gravel under that concrete? You must really get a lot of runoff off of that steep sidehill?????
You didn’t bury anything in the concrete? Every time pops had a pour he’d clean the shop. Any scrap metal, hydraulic hose or wire got covered up!
Even old bent woven fencing works great .
Just after pouring , lay flattered pieces of old metal fencing on it and stepping it in as you smoothing it out .
For as thick as it’s poured plus the fact that it’s dug into the ground won’t really bother it.
Did they charge you for waiting on the second load?
O'Connell Glens
Cow pies might firm up the concrete and eliminate cracking??? 😂
The ground that you were pouring on looks to dry . If that's the case it will suck the moisture to fast . Shorting and weakening the life of the concrete .
Love to see mason and Owen love to work with them get hot sweaty and musky together love hot there jeans are filled out omg
To far away can't see nothing
Open your eyes, or put your glasses on.😂
Always one in the crowd 😂
