why does everyone want to cheese Tainted Jacob? I find Tainted Esau to be the best boss killer
Because they dont wanna learn how to use him to their advantage
mainly because one wrong move can turn you into Rebirth Lost
Have you tried beating Mega Satan with him? Esau dies almost immediately , And it becomes a rebirth lost fight.
I like dodging him but it is awful on endgame bosses, due to his low hp he just dies so fast

I will explain: back then werr a birth rights. It is a property of the oldest brother, that gives him rights to rule the younger siblings. Esau was older but jacob traded it for red stew

If I had to guess, getting two-tapped by the spirit of your dead brother doesn't outweigh the sheer damage he does in his attempts to two-tap you. Also, getting hit the first time doesn't give you s, so it's very likely to get turned into the Lost by Esau only for something else to get you.
he also dies whether intentional by the player or Esau just straight up ran through obstacles and dies so it's hard not being the lost as tainted Jacob.

The much simpler way to kill Esau without repercussions is just using meat cleaver and killing the two that split. Their explosions won't kill you and can even be used to open boss rush/hush.
This is a bug however, while eraser is *intended* . This means that the cleaver method will not work eventually, but eraser will. Also if you're gonna use bugs you might as well just use the exploit that also works right now, wherein you just go back to main menu when you kill him, and then resume game. You will not be a ghost, and he will be gone for that floor.

I just got it recently, and though I don’t play Isaac as much as I used to, I love it! Ed really went out of his way to make this incarnation especially brutal!!
Repentance is so hard for me.

Sometimes you gotta feel bad for Esau, the way Jacob just paradises him around like he’s just a limb(who he often forgets about ie getting separated) after getting his blessing in exchange for some stew. Then Jacob leaves Esau for dead and Esau is out for his birthright . The achievement for unlocking Tainted Jacob is literally called The Deserter. And then Esau just gets erased.
Thats the beauty of it my bro, no rest for the wicked, until you erase it :D

Reminds me of the glitch challenge where I had an item give me infinite eraser uses without any consequences at my will.
I crashed the game at the cathedral because it didn't know what to spawn anymore whenever I entered a room + other glitch effects not liking that.

I think it would’ve been cool if, upon tearing his way out of the ground, Dark Esau would screech “JACOOOOB!!!” or something similar. It would definitely add to the menacing feeling of a nigh-unkillable spirit of vengeance endlessly hounding Jacob as a hate-filled reminder of his sins.

Reverse moon or using red key a lot are the only ways
@@monosophy691 This doesn't answer his question at all. If you have the Red Key, you can still miss them, if you don't know the logic behind where they would spawn. To use Red Key efficiently, you want to go to the Ultra Secret room asap, so that you can then exit the map via an error room.
Book Of Secrets has a chance of showing them on the map
@@Nekoszowa This is equally useless information. Even if you have Book of Secrets, you can't access them, you can only see where they are. The only way to use Book of Secrets would be to carry the backpack so that you can have Red Key as well. Which... is easier said than done
From what I know secret rooms always spawn in places where you can access it from multiple rooms (2-4) and super secret rooms spawn where you can only access it from one room, meaning it's connected to only one room
Other than this, I don't know a consistent way to find them

The damage you will deal on a tear is 10x your dmg stat so as you know what esau hp is you can still work it out

I lovw the inclusion of the Antibirth soundtrack in the background very nice, Mudeth is an actual god.
The French streamer Shisheyu find an other way to break the tainted Jacob mecanic. You need the Blue Hourglass and two clear rooms, during the dying animation of Issau you just need to leave the room, wait for the explosion who turn you into the Lost and then use the Hourglass, do this each floor
you dont need to have glowing hourglass do this with leaving the run and reentering

@@eliandirsinaril1999 Getting rid of dark esau without facing consequence of being the lost, no matter if its with exiting and loading during dark esau animation or using eraser, meat cleaver or blue hourglass is still considered a cheat on itself. There is no way of knowing dark esau health as spider mod item does not count dark esau as regular enemy due its unique properties and therefore using eraser effectively is almost impossible unless you exactly know how much damage you are dealing with your tears and how much hp dark esau has left (because of increased max hp for dark esau every time you go to next floor)

Yeah, as long as you can land a killing blow it will prevent them from spawning.

@@byrontheusurper6505 I was expecting something fun to play, like Bethany or The Forsaken. Instead most of the tainted characters are pretty much worse versions of their original counterparts. Only Tainted Azazel and Bethany are well balanced so far, they actually seem different but neither worse or better.

Wait erasers effect is for the whole run? Then why doesn't it disappear after one use like in antibirth. Seems really op.
Its an Spacebaritem which seems like a one-room-charge but only resets after leaving the floor.
One use per floor, but you could just totally miss the throw and waste it. Probably why it's like that now, but imo it should have stayed just one use.

I’m immensely sad the antibirth soundtrack didn’t make it somehow out there wasn’t an option to maybe go back and forth between the two OSTs, IMO this song fits the vibe of the basement and the game overall more than most of the old afterbirth OST and some/most of the repentance OST
