Bro said "size of limgrave" this dlc is like the size of other souls games its ridiculous
Not sure if it's true but I have seen that the size of the dlc is basically the same GB as the base game of ds3, either way it's basically another game
@@rtd8677 it's not, it's just over 16Gb the advertised size is the base game
It's bigger than limgrave by alot.
It's is bigger than limgrave and has a few more main areas like stormveil etc but some areas definitely feel unfinished empty and pointless and I rate elden ring and the dlc a 10 but some of the dungeons suck and there are far too few placed about the map the base game I felt like I was finding something every few minuites and alot of the dlc felt empty especially finding smithing stone 1s etc after having followed a path somewhere
Size of limgrave, but the verticality out the ass
Miyazaki said the size of Limgrave and managed to pack half of caelid in it lmao.
It's vastly bigger than Limgrave. It's Limgrave, but has like eight layers. In total, it's almost as big as the base game's overworld.
@@TheStraightestWhitest its not even close to the size of the overworld? have you even played past godrick?
Im saying he lied lol i thought it was way bigger when i started exploring everything @TheStraightestWhitest
Its legit, half of the lands between PLUS some elevation.
I mean, it's literally the size of that central ocean, because that's where the Land of Shadow was originally before Marika sealed it away...
"It's about the size of Limgrave"
Yeah, if you include Weeping Peninsula, and half of Caelid. Also it has that size again stacked on top of it, and that size AGAIN below it, because of verticality.
Base game is multilayer too. The DLC is limgrave sized + a bit bigger. But nothing crazy like some fans claim. It is more packed with content than Limgrave is though but that is to be expected.
@@EfecanYSL geographically bigger than limgrave, but more importantly more compact than most of the base game areas.
This means it's effectively even bigger despite physicallly taking up a smaller space, which is just perfect in my opinion.
id argue its just the base game overworld, sliced into layers, then stacked on top of each other like a lasagna
Weeping peninsula is still limgrave tho
@@Frank-kq4teliurnia, limgrave, weeping peninsula and caelid are the four separate regions at the bottom
ngl you had me thinking you were about to hate lol

After he finished this section no way he was satisfied. 3 dragons and very big empty spaces in-between with like 1 blessing and 1 cookbook. Probably 10 mins of horse riding. Yeah, incredible for 40$.

40 bucks for basically 2 expanisions in 1. Really big map for DLC for sure sad its gonna be the only 1
it actually *was* gonna be 2 dlcs according to insiders: an expansion about messmer, then an expansion about miquella. they decided to combine them shortly after the base game released
Yeah, 5 hours of new content and 15 copypaste, returning tree sentinels, 6 dragons, half dragon shitty enemies, fallingstar, 6 hippos, 8 giants etc etc, talismans +3 versions of existing, barely any new ones, empty as fuck world
Ctrl+c Ctrl+v 40 euro

They just set the new standard for DLC quality AND quantity in the age of micro transactions. It’s damn close to just being Elden Ring 2… which might still be coming, who knows
I am sorry but there are plenty of expanions like this. This is not a new standard, just a good one.
Fair enough, I’m not familiar with expansions like this aside from maybe monster hunter world’s iceborne expansion. What other similar expansions are there?
@@bencarlson4300 well on monster hunter topic sunbreak
But also blood&wine, DA awakening, many mmo expansions, SMT Vengance, Phantom Liberty and much more.
Some of them are smaller but also cost less and offer a similar quantity of content
@@asnor7588 The only one anywhere near this level of both quality and quantity is Blood & Wine.
@@asnor7588 I could be wrong since I haven't played SMT5:Vengeance specifically BUT I'm pretty sure SMT5: Vengeance isn't a dlc. It's a definitive version of the game.
For some reason Atlus generally doesn't sell big expansions, they group it with the base game and sell it as a definitive version so older copies end up not receiving the new content. It reminds me more of Persona 3: Fes/Portable, Persona 4: Golden and Persona 5: Royale where you had to buy the whole game again and couldn't reused your saves from the original game.
Atlus has been doing this for a long time so I should know better and I vow to wait for a definitive edition instead since I did buy most OG copies (SMT5 included) and the definitive versions of the games. That being said I will also out of spite not buy SMT5: vengeance. I'm tired of them reselling the game a year or two later instead of giving the option to buy the new content as a dlc/expansion.
I also believe most games don't offer this level of content in a dlc in terms of scale and/or quality but you did name some good examples like Blood&Wine for Witcher and Phantom Liberty for Cyberpunk 2077. I'm not familiar with DA awakening but MMO expansions can compete in scale but quality is arguable/dependent on the content offered.
- Goes through dungeon thinking it'll just be a weapon or talisman in the end
- Discovers a new area the size of Caelid
Wtf Miyazaki
It’s really disappointing that this area and Cerulean Coast are as empty as they are
@@Wyrdist Idk Cerulean Coast still has some cool stuff, though mostly useful for int users.
Thats nothing. There's a boss hidden behind two illusionary walls, in a dungeon inside a whole giant area behind optional hidden catacoombs that were in another optional area hidden behind another invisible wall off to the side in an easily missable room inside The Shadow Keep.
@@dud5606 well my first play through was on a 60 dex but that’s not the point, my criticism is the lack of content, especially when this was supposed to be “the size of limgrave”. It’s not a good look when at least two entire regions are empty. Cerulean coast, Jagged peak, and even abyssal woods don’t cut it. The only thing that was kinda cool was abyssal woods disabling torrent. I don’t really care why they did it, but it almost felt like a distraction for why this area was as empty as the other two I named
Michael Zaki back at it again...
$40 for "CURSE YOU, BAYLE!!" is worth it.
😂🙏
This DLC is Elden Ring 2 in a disguise.
This DLC was so big it could have been the main game in 2022. Especially if they filled up some of the more empty places with stuff from the main actual main game.

Me andd my best friend went through the DLC together as our first time playthrough and when I got despawned after the dragon man fight i remember my friend saying "Holy shit, there's more to this dungeon?" And a few seconds later he just said "Wow..... you gotta summon me for the fight, this is too cool" after we killed the Dragon man again I audibly gasped at the view. Yeah.... needless to say that this DLC is just Elden Ring 1.5 and they were god damn liars about it being ONLY the size of Limgrave. Best expansion ive played in a sold minute. Most AAA games would ask this price for 3 skins and a new emote meanwhile Fromsoft cooked astronomically hard on this.
This would of been a 70 dollar sequel if it was made by ea
It would be 70 dollar but wouldnt be a sequel but instead some random VIP++ feature.
Don’t forget MW3
No, it would be called „Elden Ring 2“
Ea are incapable of such good game
@@unioncare2055 They are. There's a lot of really good EA titles out there and great studios like Respawn Entertainment and Dice. Unfortunately EA focuses on other types of games.
This map is more accurately about the size of half the overworld due to how layered it is
This and Witcher's Blood and Wine are WHAT expansions/DLCs should be.
CDPR were the bar for what dlc's should be until Shadow of the Erdtree. Even Phantom Liberty for Cyberpunk 2077 is better quality/quantity than most games dlc.
Nintendo: We spent six years trying to make three layers of the map for our newest 70 dollar Zelda game. Nobody can top us!
Miyazaki: *Hold my beer. I’mma about to do it in less*

How does that make any sense lol
I personally feel this DLC or rather I'd say expansion is the size of DS3 in itself.
The map in itself is enormous , not to mention the quality and quantity of bosses and content.
It is definetly not the size of all of dark souls 3 if ur including dlcs but maybe the size of base ds3 without some optional areas sure
I wouldn’t exactly say the bosses are quality. Maybe a few like messmer, midra, bayle, and divine beast, but the rest were pretty bad.

@@HahahMamaman I agree. These people are just having a recency bias. Give it a few months and a few replays and they'll dislike them too. There is nothing to like about scadutree avatar or gaius.
so far thats my favorite area in the dlc and maybe even in the whole game, how they managed to tease "you know who" as the main boss at the end of that area was something else, the higher you get up the mountain, it just kep getting more and more metal, so fckn awesome
Not really a spoiler but wait till you get to the cerulean coast. Chef Kiss 🤌
It took me longer to finish Shadow of the Erdtree than it took for my first playthrough of Dark Souls. It’s seriously a gargantuan expansion.
It’s bittersweet to see that this is the last new piece of Elden Ring we’ll ever get, but I hope From doesn’t try making a sequel. They’ve really done all they can with the Lands Between. Ideally they’d innovate with something new from the ground up as they did with Bloodborne and Sekiro instead of just continuing to tack things onto the Demon’s Souls formula. Let Shadow of the Erdtree be the dignified end of a glorious era. Let something greater still arise in its place.
Nah dude the setting has so much more to offer
I got about 60-70 hours out of it which makes it about a third of the length of a base game completionist playthrough.
They are litereally doing that, they know that if you create something you cant create in infinityly and it still would be as good as first thing. They are working now on multipile project and thing is they will be directed by other people, for example there is game in production from the guy that created bloodborne fighting system and sekiro deflect system. And I cant wait for that tbh.
I feel the same however, there is still so much elden ring has to offer. I feel another dlc can easily be made, its practically begging for it.
This dlc was so short
Literally saw those mountains from a cliffside and thought “Wow they did really great job on the background. Be cool if I could actually climb that mountain tho.”
And other people defend some preorder, ultimate edition of a game that gives you 5 breadcrumbs and 2 skins with 2-3 DLCs (that are just characters) that is $40 over the base game price.
Oh wow! A vista! (look inside and it’s just a couple reused dragons, a cookbook, and a single unique fight). The DLC was empty.
Oh stfu up this dlc was well worth $60 but we got it for $40 🤷🏻♂️ there was a lot of content tf you going on about lol
i died more to dancing lion alone than 17 times

Not only the map is surprisingly big, but it's also a lot more dense, we have a lot more points of interest in less area, the dungeons and castles are way better than before, the level and world design increased a lot
Dungeons are definetely the biggest glow up
The dlc is actually huge, and so many bosses it's insane.

40$ for Elden Ring 2, Miyazaki really baited us with the "Size of Limgrave" announcement
its just an empty area that reuses same dragon 3 times then reuses another dragon and then there is cool dragon bossfight
its so cool when you see it, then playing through the area you realize that the area is basically a huge empty montain with like 4 reused dragons from the base game and a boss at the end.
