Should’ve thrown an Islander in the roll and picked up your free $50 from Marc! 😉
Literally read that in Marc's intro voice lol..
@@Philliponsixtysix Hi this is Morc
Respect, the AE1200 arguably is the best travel watch regardless of price. Welcome to the US, Jody. I think the Met is going to pleasantly surprise you. Enjoy and be safe.
I really hope to come by to say "Helloooooo" and welcome to New York to you! To get to TGV, ask Marc to contact him, they work together often.
NY aint what it used to be. Delighted that you can roll the trip into a visit with family.
NYC is one of my favorite cities. I've been to NYC WIndup the past two years; it is a great time!
Jody I'm a life long NY'er. Live in NYC I am going to do everything I can to try to get downtown and see you at Windup, maybe pick up an Erebus. 😃 Have a safe flight and a great time while you're here in NYC. Don't forget to get Pizza, Bagels and a Dirty Water Dog (Hot Dog from a street cart) while you're here.
Will be at the NYC Windup wearing my Erebus Malachite Ascent to welcome you all to the States! Safe travels.
Safe travels and see you at NYC WINDUP!
See you there mate!!
I’m a native NY’er, you will love it! Make sure you get pizza
John's on Bleeker for a pie. Joe's on Carmine for a slice. Ozone Pizza in Queens for a square. (It's better than Spumoni)
Real pizza is in Italy, not in NY
Planning on getting my 1st Long Island watch soon. Happy travels, Jody! 🇬🇧👍🏽
Jody: 16 hours on a plane = loose bracelet. So the GS is a good option for that part of the trip. Have fun and happy landings.
I love these videos for some unusual reason. Always love seeing what you bring on these random trips
Hope to see you in NYC
Enjoy the trip, the fair, and family
Great selection. Have a successful & enjoyable trip.
Be sure to get a pastrami sandwich at Katz. And don't be afraid to try a hot dog from a street vendor. They're surprisingly good.
And some cheesecake too!
@JustOneMoreWatch too much pastrami and cheesecake and you'll be going from 7 inch to 7.5 inch wrist shots. 😄
Have to go see the old Bulova building in NYC
I totally want to do that! October 4th was Bulova Day and it made me think about it...
Please go to the diamond district and ice up an Erebus with a bunch of diamonds.
Think of the content, the laughs and the endless sparkle.
You're not joking about the laughs! 😄
Nice pic of gmts! I really kind of dig that San Martin. If you're down in the village try wogies! Good cheesesteaks with fresh amarosa rolls from Philadelphia every day.
have a great trip. NYC is the best!...enjoy!!
Welcome in advance to the US and to the wonderful state of New York! Won't be able to make it down myself unfortunately but these types of events always seem like a blast!
Enjoy the met! I was in a production of Simon Boccanegra with Quinn Kelsey who is singing Rigoletto. He's absolutely fantastic! What a voice and commanding presence on stage.
Amazing! I've seen plenty of the recorded operas and the stage looks absolutely enormous. Can't wait to see the place for myself. Cheers!
Oh it's huge! Last time I sang there was for a Meistersinger with Levine about a decade ago. The stage from the audience looks massive, but when you're up there it's literally 4x as big backstage. Each wing is literally as wide as the proscenium. It's wild!
Good selection. And reminds me I do need to pick up that Vario. Have a great trip, you've got the watches to keep you cool.
That Grand Seiko is nice Jody….another day, another grail. Have a great trip amigo!
If you have the time, one of my favorite spots in Manhattan is McSorley's Ale House. A lot of history and charm, and good beer (their own) too.
Hope to see you at Wind Up. Cheers
Have a good trip mate! I have the brass mod for the AE1200 from m the same company. It really does take that awesome little watch up quite a notch or 2. I opted for on of their FKM rubber straps with brass hardware to match. It's got a lovely patina coming on😃
I hope you enjoy your evening at the Met. I visited it once several years ago (Mozart’s Don Gio) and enjoyed the atmosphere tremendously. Almost as much as the Sydney Opera, where I saw Handel’s Giulio Cesare in 1992, wearing my beloved Casio AQ 8W.
Thanks Jody for sharing your experience with this GMT GS.
Looks like the usual pattern : man lusts for an high end model. Finally buys it. Leaves it in the box and keeps wearing cheaper and perkier watches. Eventually flips it and acquires more Erebus / Baltic / Islander.
Nice selection of GMTs. Hope you have a great trip.
The AE-1200 with the SKXMOD really deserves a canvas strap made for it, which are easily and inexpensively had from aliexpress. Nice choices all around - "bon route"!
Yeah I think I need to buy a few different straps and play around. Vario ones have a great reputation also, but I'm partial to a canvas so I'll have a look on Ali. Cheers!
That Vario! Wow, the colour is really nice.
Enjoy your holiday.
Will Erebus make a digital watch? Or even better, an ana-digi?
Hand the watch to a spouse/child and scratches will be the least of your concerns. I gave my SNK809 (MY FIRST AUTOMATIC WATCH EVER) to my 8 year old brother, he ran off with it, came back 30 seconds later with a bit of paint from the wall embedded in the case
Nice dude, 1st time in New York is going to be a blast.
Ugh, that's brutal, all that time in steerage… Safe journey and have an amazing time in the Big Apple!
Nice t-shirt, lol! 😂 I'll see you on Friday! 🚲👍
I always find myself rooting for the Chronomaster. This is despite having no personal experience with either. Long live the Chrono!
I will also see you in NY. Looks like it is going to be jam packed this year. 16 hour flight, oof.
Welcome to the US! Hope you love NYC… great city. 🏙️
Welcome to America. I lived in Thailand and hated those long long flights. When Bill Clinton was the US President he would always layover a few days in Hawaii anytime he was returning from Asia or Australia. If you have the time and money there are worse things to do than lay on the beach in Waikiki.
I'll see you there, I can't wait to meet you and Mr P
Have a safe and enjoyable trip! Great GMTs. You should check out Lorier while you are at the event. Their Hydra and Hyperion GMTs are so beautiful and they are travelers GMTs.
Jody, great choices... But... I can't help thinking you missed a trick.
If you go Casio, this could have been your chance to go with a radio controlled one, and experience the nerdy genius of connecting to the Northern Hemisphere's atomic clock.
while in New York, try to get to Dumbo for a sunset: down under the Manhattan bridge overpass. It’s best view of the city by far, and there’s some great pizza right there.
See you guys in a few days! Safe travels!
Safe travels to the states. Enjoy the pizza and Chinese food. Bring a jacket, likely to get a bit chilly at night.
Just realised with ordering my Pepsi Erebus yesterday I now have 5 GMT watches. That lot should just about get me from Melbourne to Perth with the 30 minute differences we have here.. 😂
Great choices!
Wrap up …. NYC is fcuking baltic @ this time of year & good luck with the nyc show
Safe trip over here. See you next week.
I’ll be there so see you soon!!!
Come and say HELLOOOOOO!
A casio is my go to for airports
Have a good trip
An early welcome to the US, enjoy your visit.
I hope Stephen is going to check out Nakano Broadway on his travels in Tokyo. Best watch shopping experience I’ve had, quite incredible!
Enjoy your watch trip. Wish I could go myself, maybe next year.
Safe travels!
WHERE IS THE CAPTAIN WILLARD WATCH FROM STEEL DIVE 😮😮😮😮😮😮
That GS would look good on a leather strap, if you want to reduce/avoid scratches on the bracelet.
See you here in NYC!
Safe travels Jody.
See you on Saturday my friend 🫡 safe travels. I'm very much hoping to see the ascent in black helux
The mint dial on that Vario 🥰
Very nice. I do want a 9F, I must confess.
No Islander? You're leaving $100 off of a new Islander on the table?
I honestly don't think I could take money off the man. Advice, definitely, but not cash!
Any chance of you taking an Erebus GMT to the UK and posting it from there to me 😉
You should make a mini Erebus "Wind Up" in Glasgow 🥺
What is the process like to bring your show and for sale watches over from australia to the states? Would love to know about the behind the scenes work involved
Jody, if my day off request gets approved, I will see you Friday October 18. I will be wearing two 1 of 1000 Bulova watches from 2010. One I bet you have never seen. There is almost no information about it available anywhere.
Nice mod to the Casio ❤
Have a great trip!
Thanks mate!
I'm excited for you that you getting to visit US. Have fun with Mark.
It's MAAAAAAARC! 🤣
Mmm first dings, recently bought a Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 Green dial did not have it on 5 min till i knocked it on a table, result a small ding on a high polished watch its tiny bit i know its there :)
💀
Welcome to the State's.. Horological Society of New York has a small museum in Manhatten hours and info on-line. When you ever go on your coast to coast tour BBQ is on me here in Texas.
Can't recommend you much in the way of box sets for 30hrs of being wedged in an airborne tube of farts. However, can recommend a lot of books, audiobooks, and podcasts. For those of a motoring persuasion, try Smith and Sniff podcast. History nut? Dan Carlin's incredible pods will fill almost 30 hours just on Japan in WW2. Finally, if you fancy an audiobook then Cornwell's Warlord Series read by Jonathan Keeble is excellent.
I’m coming up from Florida to go to the fair, I can’t wait
Good stuff! See you soon!
Hope you can make it to next year's San Francisco show!
Great Casio pick!
Although a good ani digital with wave ceptor would be a good one watch solution for going around the world 🌎🌍
I’m in the area thinking of stopping by next week.
Excellent, maybe see you there.
Those SKX kits are a lot more than 100 now.....anyway I have the US made Kranio design cases...both bronze and SS. Love 'em. Tha Vario straps are too short for me but they are nice quality.
I like your new T-shirt
cya there bro haha 😊
Jody, if you get a chance, go to the World Trade Center memorial. 1) It’s crazy to see and truly something to make you think about what happened there. And 2) because there’s a mall there and they have everything from Swatch and Tissot to Longines and Rolex. It’s a fantastic mall and absolutely gorgeous. Kind of reminds me of the Sydney opera house.
Definitely on our list of places to visit mate.
@@JustOneMoreWatch👌🏽👌🏽
@@JustOneMoreWatchjust ask people where the World Trade Center Mall is. You can’t miss it. It’s absolutely massive.
MAMACOO has set a new standard for replica watches. Their craftsmanship is impeccable. Its hard to tell the difference from the originals
Watch your surroundings in the big city mate. I wouldn't wear anything flashy walk and around that place.
Hence the Casio!
Any chance of a meet up with TGV. He does get about NYC now he has a electric scooter .
Well, I sent him an email, but no reply 😭
See you here!!!
Excellent!
If I had a brand and I’m going to an event to promote my brand, I would only take my own brand
Don't worry, I'm also taking 50 of them in two giant suitcases 😉
@@JustOneMoreWatch I’m just impressed you took the high road on this video mate and didn’t shamelessly promote your own.
Good luck out there.
If you get an extended layover at a London airport I’ll buy you a beer
All set at 10:10 except suspiciously the Casio...you can tell I made it to the end. Cheers!
Please don’t judge all of America too harshly based on New York… God bless and safe travels.
One of the great benefits of buying fairly-to-well-used watches at a great price is that you don't suffer from ScRatCH fEAr!!!😱 And you can just wear and enjoy them. Still, that's a beautiful GS!
This one was used! But it was 'Japanese used', so basically new 🤣
Lol, your GS is totally "Japanese used"! 😄I'm talking about "American used". So half the price and 70% of its cosmetic condition. For me that's the "joy zone". Buy it, clean it, wear it, enjoy the hell out of it! Avoid the "curse of the flawless watch"... 😉
Don't really understand why anyone would pay all that for a dirty San Martin, looks pretty bad imo
See you then!
See you Malik!
Opffff and flying economy too ...
Having just replaced an awful Seiko 5 with an Islander, there should be an Islander in there.
Awful? Do explain?
The usual lack of quality control, built by a drunken chimpanzee, alignment issues for starters. Then the lack of spec for the price, like mineral crystal, no screw down crown and poor water resistance. I couldn't fault the movement though.
@@stuartcaddick5696 Poor water resistance? 100 meters is plenty. But yeah, I understand the rest.
@@WH250398 I agree on 100 metres being more than enough. My issue is that its predecessor offered 200 metres and there are several brands selling watches with 200m water resistance at a cheaper price. I'm not blaming Seiko though, I'm blaming myself for buying another one when I know full well they are shite.
@@stuartcaddick5696you don’t need a screw down crown for 100m resistance which is also more than enough for everyone except a professional diver. The issues that people make up is staggering.
Vario is nice
Welcome to the US in advance but doesn't this trip and show conflict with F1 at the Circuit of The Americas???
4:03 wait.. WHAT? Stupidly expensive watches is (for me) unwearable??? I said it before and say it again, Erebus Ascent beats Grand Seiko :) Here is another example of that :)
You should come to Texas it's much better than NY. Happy visit.
So you taking a 16 hour flight and not taking a Pilot’s watch. That is a crime.
Mate, the crime would be if I was flying the plane 😉
@@JustOneMoreWatch
Doesn’t matter. On the plane a watch nerd must wear a Breitling (or maybe it’s just me).
👍
