Thank you for this video sir! You just saved me $400 for a new camcorder. I got the part for $2.97 and bought a little precision screwdriver set for $7.00 and after two hours of working with your instructions, I am hapy to say I have a normal working camera again! Amazing. God bless.

Yellow Magic Dog where were you able to purchase the cable?

Hey Man! I ordered 2 cables for $10US and repaired it myself. The camera shops told me they don't stock the part and I should just buy a new camera...Ya RIGHT!!! Thanks for doing this easy to watch / understand video!

Thanks so much for posting this guide. I got the part from Ebay shipped from China. Your guide gave me the confidence to give it a go and just completed it and all working as good as new now. To help me remember where all the screws went I used a tip from another guide where you draw pictures of the different sides of the camera on a piece of cardboard and as you take the camera apart you push the screw into the cardboard in the correct position on your drawing if you see what I mean.

Well all done and thank you so much, I was a little critical of the video (I'm an idealist, but only for others!) My camera is GZ-HM200 BAA Yet everything was so similar inc. the Flex I ordered on Ebay (2 for AU$ 9!) Here and there it was a little challenging but you had your problem too. And this was good for us just give it a go and you got it going - So did I this means that nearly everyone should be able to do it!
You mentioned the screws being of different size so as I went I stuck them on an A4 with double sided tape and a description of where they came from.
I should not have bothered this way as there are only two sizes and very few short ones. What is more important is to note where they come from and what they are at each step. I also was amazed about your screwdriver! My set is a small set of 6 with long handles with three philips I did the lot with the middle size that had a magnetic tip - quite handy. The repair shop wanted $76 just to look at it and God only knows how much they'd charge for the job. But no way they'd give you a free quote or a hint of the possible cost! Thanks again.

I don't know where you are from but if you were anywhere close to Nashville, TN my Wife and I would buy you dinner!! That was a great video on how to fix my Video camera. I was a little nervous in fixing my JVC GZ-MS120AU until I watched your video ahead of time. I sent off for the Flex Cable it was $7.98 and took about a week to get here. I just finished fixing it and it works great!! It saved me about $400.00 because I was looking for one just like it. Thank you so much for having a great information video!! Ron & Elizabeth

Excellent job explaining this repair. I found the flex cable on the internet. It cost under $6. Best Buy wanted $35 to send the camera to their shop. Then they would tell me how much to fix it. With your explanation and video, I'm way ahead and shooting video again. Thanks much.

Go to EBAY, and search for a "flex cable" specific to your model camcorder. I found mine their, but it was in June 2015. Hope that helps.

Holy crap this is the exact problem I’m having!! My nephew had the camera in his hand for 2 minutes. I posted on JVC fb page and they didn’t even answer me. They could have told me it was a cable problem. I almost bought a new camera. I’m hoping I can get this fixed before Christmas which I record every year. The camera does work so I may wait.
So glad I found this video.

I have already posted this but it seemed to have gone to another comment as a reply! So I put it back here. And I'm thinking to publish what I have done as well if it helps others too.

Wow you put a lot of work in there for us to see. I ordered the flex and hope it'll be the right one.
I'm just surprised you did all this on a reflective surface which is a little confusing. I'm not sure if I can handle it but I'll give it a go! 2014 that's quite a while. Thank you again.

Spocke try searching for the model number without the “se”. I had more luck searching for mine without the letters on the end.
