Morgan got Reid to consult to Garcia over the phone about the current unsub and Garcia lit up like a Christmas tree just hearing Reid's voice. When Reid showed up in person to finish helping the team stop the current unsub JJ also lit up and immediately hugged her Spence. I wasn't happy about Maeve being murdered but I loved the family dynamics in this episode that got Reid to come out of his solitary mourning and come back to them. Reid didn't just need them, they needed him, too. Garcia has always been Morgan's Baby Girl. Reid has always been JJ's Spence Garcia's Boy Wonder and Morgan's Pretty Boy.
In the end of Episode 100 Hotch said a family quote: "Poet Haniel Long said, 'So much of what is best in us is bound up in our love of family that it remains the measure of our stability because it measures our sense of loyalty.' " And in the end of Episode 300 Garcia said a family quote too: " 'The family, that dear octopus from whose tentacles we never quite escape nor in our innermost hearts would we ever wish to. Dody Smith.' " I think both of these quotes fit the family closeness of Reid JJ Morgan and Garcia in this scene.
Spencer Reid is like that joyful and planet in their team though he had been struggling with harsh stuff in his personal life. They can't keep up same way with him missing. Good to see they did anything to bring back light again on that planet
Maeve Donavan being murdered by the stalker, Diane's suicide bullet was just as bad as Haley Hotchner being killed by the Reaper, Foyet. It's sad whenever an unsub gets even a small victory in the end. But this following episode, two whole weeks later Reid was sorely missed by everyone. JJ and Garcia trying to visit him, Morgan trying to call him, Blake openly admitting that she missed him, Rossi didn't totally know what Reid was going through until the end of Season 8 when the Replicator killed Erin Strauss and of course, Hotch knowing exactly what Reid was going through! Garcia telling Morgan that without even hearing Reid's voice she was having trouble working this next case so Morgan got Reid to consult on the case over the phone just so Garcia could hear his voice. Garcia lit up like a Christmas tree when she did hear his voice! I noticed except for seeing Garcia's nut and berry baskets at Reid's doorstep, JJ didn't even smile until that moment Reid came back to them. 1:36: Watching JJ walk over to hug Reid was beautiful. I think JJ really missed having her Spence around to make her laugh. And the end scene when Morgan, Garcia and JJ helped clean up Reid's apartment was one of the most beautiful family scenes of the entire series to me. Especially when all three of them hugged Reid before leaving his apartment.

I mean, Will is never around. But I guess dating isn`t allowed in the FBI among agents? And they wanted to keep it realistic?
Feral Dragon I doubt it. Gubler, who plays Reid, was told Reid is a super unrealistic character. He would not have been accepted or have his position at the age he was. It also sucked that the writers decided Reid couldn't be bisexual, which was the original plan for him, because of his crush on JJ, then they didn't even go anywhere with it

Sportygirl01 I loved it when he got Reid on the phone to consult about the unsub's motive just so Garcia could hear Reid's voice. Nobody expected Reid to show up to help the team finish the case in person but everyone could thank Morgan for that.
