"This is calm" - I've been in that situation before, and the best thing you can do is what Reid did - stay calm and simply tell them something like "this is calm." When you're spitting facts at someone in a position of higher power than you, and they know they're in the wrong but are too spineless to do anything about it, so they try to make it seem like you're freaking out at them by saying something like "You need to calm down!" I used to work a pretty crappy job where I was between a rock and a hard place. I was supposed to be in charge of some other workers, but was never given the authority to discipline them at all - I couldn't fire them or even write them up. If they were slacking or just deciding they didn't want to work at all, the most I could do was send them home early and tell my boss about it, who would do nothing about it - ever. Then he'd turn around and complain to me that I wasn't doing enough to get more work done. There was one employee who was particularly lazy, who was like the nephew of one of the other bosses, so he was used to special treatment. He kept sneaking outside when it was busy and sit out there on his phone. I went out there about 2 or 3 times and told him to knock it off, and finally just said "if you're not going to work, just go home" and sent him home early. At this point, I'm about done with the place and ready to tell my boss enough is enough and he needs to put his foot down, and the next day when I see him, before I even see him, one of the other managers tells me my boss has been complaining about me all morning, and how I was "completely out of line" by sending that worker home and "should have tried to work things out with him." I don't get paid enough to beg someone who refuses to work to actually contribute. I send them home. So I go into his office, take a seat and - extremely professionally - lay it all out to him. I tell him he needs to start actually disciplining the workers - or give someone else the power to do that. I tell him how outrageous it is that this other employee behaved the way he did and he shouldn't be getting special treatment based on who he's related to, and how unprofessional my boss's behavior was by gossiping about me like that. The entire time, I remain calm, collected, and my tone is very low and conversational. In a much more panicked tone, he cuts me off mid-sentence to say "You need to calm down!" and I simply respond "This is calm" before finishing my point, flat out saying that I'm going to leave if this isn't fixed. He lists a bunch of excuses and I tell him I really don't care who's at fault - only that if things remain the same, I'm out. Two weeks later, things are still the same at that job and I get an offer from my current job. I didn't make a big stink about it. I only talked about what happened when people directly asked me about it, and I didn't burn any bridges (not that I'd ever consider going back there even if the alternative was being homeless). I even picked up the weekend shifts that were a few days after my original 2-weeks notice would have been (sacrificing a free weekend before my new job) so that my coworker could go on a vacation she'd been planning, and she and I were the only 2 people trained in our position. Keep your cool, but know your worth. If you're being treated poorly at your job, look around for something else. There are a lot of places that won't treat you well, and some that will treat you well. I'm speaking as someone lucky enough to currently work at one of the latter. Raising your voice and yelling just makes you the assh*le, even if you were in the right.
I'm so glad this show wasn't just a fever dream of mine and it was a real thing. I loved it so much. Dr. Reid is my favorite character (I think he's everyone's) but it's a close match between all of them
Is no else else disturbed by Penelope's lack of colour in her clothing in that early scene? I know it was from the start of the show, but jeez it's so WEIRD.
I think it's the first episode, in which case she wasn't supposed to be a recurrent character. After a couple of episodes they gave her a proper personality adjusted with her clothing. (It's like seeing Derek Morgan with a suit... weird)

“Keep your cool but know your worth.” Some of the best life advice out there!
Spencer Reid was always my favorite character. And Matthew Gray Gubler played it masterfully.
he seriously did!! Great actor and person!
Garcia and Morgan's relationship was so great+
Agreed!!
God I need to watch Criminal Minds again, that cast was the absolute best!
yep!!
My favorite line is, "I'm you, Daddy."
Gets me every time 🥹❤️
Especially after 100.
“I just keep getting PHDs” took me out 😂 I did not remember that
haha it's awesome!
2:34 I haven’t watched this show in so long yet this still lives in my mind. It’s hilarious 😂
4:10 i've heard this one so mwny times. Didn't know it come from here. This just makes it even more precious
it really is precious
I clicked on this video and said “he’s so lifelike” I was gonna be so disappointed if it wasn’t in here 😂
Haha it’s a must!!
I was a little disappointed that the conversation involving chocolate did not make the cut.
"This is calm, and its Dr." BRO REID ALWAYS EATS
he seriously does!!
I love how this was a good mix of iconic, funny, and knife to the heart
haha thanks!!
Aye bruh, I was not ready for 3:07 "I worked the case Daddy, just like you said" 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
it's painful!!!
I was smiling and laughing at all these iconic quotes........until Hotch's and Jack's scenes........T.T
I was too
They are some perfectly wholesome scenes, and hitch even got to smile.
I'm sorry but you have so many funny ones and jsut casually drop in the most traumatizing episode in the entire show
Apologies!!! (I myself sob everytime!!)
The fake FBI guy scene was even better when I saw it with no context and thought he was the main character.
"I'm you daddy."
I openly sob every time I see that clip.
same!!
I LOVED the ladies pulling their REAL badges out on that guy. It was amazing.,
oh absolutely same!!!
“this is calm, and it’s doctor”
he ate that
he really did!!
All the episodes were great. The one with Brad was hilariously funny
“I'm you daddy” oh my god that was so freaking heartwarming I swear 🥹
"This is calm, and it's Doctor."
one of my favorites
I love how “Brad” randomly chose to pose as an FBI agent, and managed to pick up three real ones 🤣🤣🤣
Throwing in "I worked the case Daddy" in the middle of all this is criminal. why did you have to do me like that lol
it's painful for me too!!
This show had so many iconic quotes, that it's hard to rank them.
That's why I just put them in order lol! No way could I ever rank them! (And I've noticed that I even missed a couple..)
The early seasons of Criminal Minds had such good writing.
The Hotch scene always makes me cry. Before he opens that seat he’s about 80% sure his kid is dead/missing. This man went through so fucking much.
Yup, I sob every time I watch it. He seriously did!!
That last one was fantastic!
agreed! love it!
I'm so glad this show wasn't just a fever dream of mine and it was a real thing. I loved it so much.
Dr. Reid is my favorite character (I think he's everyone's) but it's a close match between all of them
yup, I think I agree with you
"You smell that?"
*sniffs* "Hood Rat"
- Spencer Reid, a well-known hood expert :D
haha it's a very well known fact :)
Almost all of these included Reid of course.
Oh good point! And of course is right!
(It's like seeing Derek Morgan with a suit... weird)
They were probably also trying to base her off of Abbey from NCIS a bit
"You've been re-routed to the office of too friggin' bad." I gotta remember that one.🤣🤣🤣
"This is calm, an it's DOCTOR"
