- Criminal Minds has numerous iconic quotes, from Reid proclaiming “this is calm and it's doctor!,” to Rossi saying that Reid was “left in a basket on the steps of the FBI.” I thought I’d make a compilation of all of them. So, here it is.
Criminal Minds is a CBS show. CBS owns Criminal Minds. All content is owned by CBS. No copyright infringement intended.
BTW: In case anyone was wondering why I haven’t posted in a couple months, I got busy with school. Classes start up again late January, but hopefully I won’t get too busy at least for a little while.

Hey fam!! Thank you so much for all of your support!! I have some news!! I have launched both a Kofi & a Patreon page. I love making my videos; however it turns out that they are created w/ what youtube calls "reused content" thus I'm unable to monetize via youtube. Hence the decision to launch the Kofi & Patreon pages. I decided to do both because I wanted a one-time donation option, & as far as I'm aware, Patreon doesn't offer one. You'll get sneak peaks, early access, and maybe more (I literally haven't finalized my thoughts yet).

‘He was left in a basket on the steps of the fbi.’ 😂😂😂 gets me everytime
Same!!
and it essentially was true 😂
The fact that I used that when talking about one of my friends that wants to the an FBI agent
Such a perfect delivery lol
Best line
"remind me to have her drug tested" is my favorite CM quote of all time
I love it as well!!
Thank you, I couldn't figure out what he was saying!
What’s the time stamp?
@@starcrysis232:25
He was worried because she was way closer to normal than usual.
the bar scene with the girls and the fake fbi agent gets me every time
it's absolutely one of my favorites
“What’s it like at kwan-ti-co?”
Best scene in the entire show.
Yes! I laugh so hard at that
I think they should have given him a warning about it being illegal to impersonate an agent and that he wouldn't get a second one.
The way Garcia says "Kwantieko" gets me every single time😂
Yup, same!
Absolutely my fine furry friends.
How is it pronounced?
@@LAUREN-dp7vx kwanteco, if that makes sense😄
fun fact, criminal minds was supposed to be calleb "quantico"
I will always cry at "I worked the case daddy, just like you said" ,😭
Same 😭
The ‘100’ episode. I stopped watching CM after that episode; just gutted me. I’ve never forgotten it.
Such a powerful moment
Yes it does. That was riveting. Very quick thinking on Hotch’s part.
The two actors have a great father-and-son dynamic.
Al,ost spat my water out from laughter at the bit where Spencer says “I just keep getting PHDs” as a response to Hotch saying that there are lots of ways sons defeat their fathers
haha yep, I love that one from him!!
I long suspected my father was disappointed that I got a PhD instead of going to law school.
Another quote from another TV show: "He collect PhDs like some kids collect Pokemon cards."
“He was left in a basket on the steps of the FBI” is one of my favourite all time Criminal Minds quotes 😂
Oh definitely!!
That's basically the plot of another FBI series "Blindspot" 😂
and it essentially is accurate 😂😂
The fact that the girls just made brad rethink his life choices is mind-boggling funny.
Agreed! One of my favorites!
The fact that Garcia pronounced it “Quan-tee-co”, made it even funnier. Like this is something they’ve done several times before
Oh totally!! They definitely have!
That was the all-time funniest moment of the series run!!!
There used to be "for him magazine" that would have one page articles on how to fake being a SEAL, an FBI agent, etc in bars to pick up women.
I actually got to use that line in a deposition once. Lawyer misrepresented something I said and I corrected him a little vigorously. "Now, calm down, Mr. C.," and I said, "This is calm. And it's Doctor." Lawyer was puzzled over why I was grinning but I was flat-out thrilled 😊
I was in high school at the time, and I played an expert witness in Mock Trial. During cross examination, the opposing lawyer asked how I thought something had occurred in the case, and this line is what inspired my reaction of turning to the scoring judges/jury and answering "I wouldn't know, I'm a doctor, not a detective." I got voted Most Effective Witness that round, that moment was the talk of the competition, and it happened because I went "Omg I can be Reed" XD
@@firemoonlily outstanding!😀
ICONIC! 👏🏽👏🏽
wow!! that's awesome!!
The only reason I'll ever consider a phd lol
One of my faves Garcia to Spencer…”You’re my b*tch now..”
Yep, love that one!!
Such a good one
*sniffs the air* “Hood rat”
Get me every time with how blunt he is, I love Goob 🥰
Same here!! Love him!
I love it. Reid: "You kick like a 9 year old girl"
same!
ITS so good, I Love their dynamics, both with how soft hotch IS with Reid and the fact that Reid got the Balls to say that to His quite intimidating Boss, knowing IT would Reflex him instead of irritate hi.
This is calm and it’s doctor. They way he leaned to the microphone omg I loved this scene so much
Same!! One of my favorites!
My favorite thing from the whole series 😂😂😂
One of the few times I've ever seen Reid lose his shit.
That right there is why Gideon always introduced him as doctor.
I also think it showed how much Reid had grown as a person during the show.
Hotch after on the phone with Garcia: "Remind me to have her drug-tested" KILLS ME! 😂
Same!!
The “ yes I’m a genius” will always get me 😂
Same!!
@@crimeshowenthusiast Would have paired well with the one where he explains processing the words with the subconscious then similarly stops and says, "Yes, I can read that fast." Sorry, I don't remember which episode, but it was early in the series.
@@HariSeldon913Broken Mirror (episode 5) they're on some ranch or something, Reid is just leafing through a book and person showing them the scene is like "can you really read that fast?" because he barely even has time to see the page before it's turned.
frfr. i have to do the same when trying to explain bpd.
me: explains in great detail the triggers and how it presents
them: so you're crazy
me: yeah i guess i'm crazy
Penelope: "You're in the FBI can you get the entire crowd to stop cheering?" like girl did you forget you're in the FBI too? 😂😂😂
Agent vs staff. In this case, one holds more (legal) power.
One of my favorite little scenes lol!!
The only green fairy I know is absinthe so their hangover makes sense
1) If Garcia did it, she'd have to raise her voice. 2) Derek's sheer presence could quiet people if he made it known that's what he wanted.
@@loka7783 yes I know I just think it’s funny the way she says it
"there are lots of ways sons defeat their fathers."
"I just keep getting PhD's" 🤣🤣🤣 I love you Reed
same!!
For being a show with such a dark theme it has some pretty memorable and funny moments. I love a good comic relief each now and then.
agreed!! same here!!
"talk dirty to me" then other boss talks (major panic sets in) 🤣🤣🤣
haha one of my favorites!
@@crimeshowenthusiast The fact that Erin hadn't already been briefed on the team dynamics, or hadn't bothered to find out tells a lot. In general someone as effective as Garcia is would be well known in the agency so Erin should have already known about her.
I was mortified for Garcia 😂
I was expecting of a line like "this is not the kind of dirty I was talking about..."
"Calm down, agent."
"This is calm, and it's DOCTOR."
True story, my wife and I high-fived each other at that part.
one of my favorite lines!
They are under no obligation to call him doctor and at that exact moment calling him agent was the correct title.
Well, that was basically a slightly polite "Shut up. I'm smarter than you". @@josephhodges9819
Emily pokes hi and says "He's so lifelike"
A favorite!!
She can poke me 🥵
That scene makes me crack a rib 😂
Its awesome. And for CERTAIN things (not Reid level things), I also find it faster to do things long hand. But yeah, he's insane
My favorite would probably have to be one of Emily’s lines.
“What are you wearing?”
“A gun.”
So simple, yet sarcastic and genuinely funny
oh yeah, that's a good one!!
I loved that one 😂😂😂
The “I just keep getting Ph.d.’s”😆
I love it!!
It was so fun reminiscing until 100! But ‘I’m you, Daddy’ healed my heart a tiny bit
Yeah, it heals mine as well ❤️
Sure did.
I'm pretty sure the "did you join a boy band?" was improvised.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure as well
Probably. The laughing in the backround sounds like the mic wasn't properly set up
If I remember correctly, the actor that played Spencer Reid actually confirmed that the line was improvised and kept. His hair style and image would change from season to season because he would make independent works of his own between the filming of the seasons. The reaction to him on that scene is legitimate because no one had seen him yet. That was the first episode of that particular season, season three or four I think.
Is it just me that desperately needs the one with jj and emily
“Shh the adults are talking when it’s your time to talk I’ll give you permission”
oh that is a good one!!
that WAS good 😂
Yes...oh that's a classic.
"you've been rerouted to the office of 'too fricken bad'" - i loved them
same!!
I love how most of these are just moments that make you laugh, then we get a couple wholesome and emotional Jack moments.
I had to include the Jack ones too :)
“I’m you daddy” gets me sobbing every damn time
Same!!
Me too 😊!!!
“I’m gonna kill him!”
“ If I can manage to lift my arms,I’ll hold him down.”
😂😂😂
I totally know how they feel lol!!
@@crimeshowenthusiast same! I asked my cousin who does semi-professional MMA to show me his training regimen. My arms and legs were like cooked spaghetti when we were done!😂😁
Oh man..!! I wouldn’t be able to finish it!
I just can’t deal with how cool Spencer is;
“This IS calm
And it’s DOCTOR”
Mic drop…..!!!
I wish I could have this as my alarm. lol.
He is definately one in a million. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
there are ways that you could make it your alarm! I made a scene from another show my alarm! I looked up how to do it on here (youtube) & found a really good video
"I wouldn't have kept kicking but I was afraid you didn't get my plans" is a hell of a line from an actor fired from the show for kicking a writer.
the irony (can't help but laugh)
They let a writer on set? Everyone knows you kick the second AD's PA.
"He's so life-like." Iconic.
incredibly iconic lol
I cried .............
was not expecting the "i worked the case with you daddy". totally not crying rn
I had to include it!😭
I wish they had also done when JJ’s son dresses up as Spencer when he goes “E=MCsq” its the cutest thing every time
oh yeah!! It is!! I can't believe I didn't include that!! :((((
5:05 this is calm and it’s doctor. Someone call the burn unit 🔥😂
3rd degree!!
I loved how Brad just kinda...realized he goofed and walked away. Just walked off. That was just an amazing scene. I want the chance to do something like that
What makes CM worked for me is that the show is about getting into the mind of darkest souls and it's depressing and dark....but the camaraderie, humor, friendship and the "qoutes" in every end of the episodes gives light, warmth and hope after watching it. I don't think i'll be able to love the show if it doesn't balances the dark and light.
The writers' commitment to having Jack break my heart... PRISON
JJ and Penelope understood the assignment as soon as Emily said "REAL" FBI
“I just keep getting PHDs” is going to be my senior quote next year
awesome choice!!
@@crimeshowenthusiast thank you, thank you
How dare you go from "you're my bitch now" to "I work the case daddy." Do u understand the emotional trauma I went through.
I apologize!! It was painful for me too!
Seeing Hotch's puzzled face after not understanding what Jack's constume is, only for the little guy to say "I'm you daddy" always just melts my heart
same
“Remind me to have her drug tested” LMAOOO
I love it lol!
3:29 the way jack hugs jj 🥺
His “aunt” JJ 🥹❤️
“You kick like a 9 year old girl” 😂
A favorite!!
Part of what makes that joke a little sad is that Reid likely knows from personal experience exactly how a 9 year old girl kicks
"i worked the case daddy".. it just tore me to shreds now. Wasn´t expecting it right there. Watching this on my phone next to my sleeping 2 year old son. Phew... hit like a truck.
Ultimately this is what did for Mandy’s ability to cope with the show. It was too dark, on too early and unremitting in its intensity.
Don’t get me wrong, it is is one the best shows I have ever seen, but I can also see how its hard going for the actors and the rest of the production.
Looking evil in the face, even if its imitation evil, is hard on the soul.
"ma’am, I think it goes without saying, that I was expecting it to be someone else"
haha love that!
I love the way Strauss is trying to decide if her ibuprofen was nearly strong enough for dealing with her BAU crew and the case. It was not, and she really needed some anti-nausea as well.
The most psychotic thing I've ever seen is the way hotch was petting that poor dog
haha!
They are such babies in those first scenes!
They really are!!
Hotch’s completely deadpan, half-distracted, “Remind me to have her drug tested.” cracks me up every time
me too!
“i worked the case daddy just like you said” gets me in tears EVERYTIME
"This is calm" - I've been in that situation before, and the best thing you can do is what Reid did - stay calm and simply tell them something like "this is calm." When you're spitting facts at someone in a position of higher power than you, and they know they're in the wrong but are too spineless to do anything about it, so they try to make it seem like you're freaking out at them by saying something like "You need to calm down!"
I used to work a pretty crappy job where I was between a rock and a hard place. I was supposed to be in charge of some other workers, but was never given the authority to discipline them at all - I couldn't fire them or even write them up. If they were slacking or just deciding they didn't want to work at all, the most I could do was send them home early and tell my boss about it, who would do nothing about it - ever. Then he'd turn around and complain to me that I wasn't doing enough to get more work done. There was one employee who was particularly lazy, who was like the nephew of one of the other bosses, so he was used to special treatment. He kept sneaking outside when it was busy and sit out there on his phone. I went out there about 2 or 3 times and told him to knock it off, and finally just said "if you're not going to work, just go home" and sent him home early. At this point, I'm about done with the place and ready to tell my boss enough is enough and he needs to put his foot down, and the next day when I see him, before I even see him, one of the other managers tells me my boss has been complaining about me all morning, and how I was "completely out of line" by sending that worker home and "should have tried to work things out with him." I don't get paid enough to beg someone who refuses to work to actually contribute. I send them home. So I go into his office, take a seat and - extremely professionally - lay it all out to him. I tell him he needs to start actually disciplining the workers - or give someone else the power to do that. I tell him how outrageous it is that this other employee behaved the way he did and he shouldn't be getting special treatment based on who he's related to, and how unprofessional my boss's behavior was by gossiping about me like that. The entire time, I remain calm, collected, and my tone is very low and conversational. In a much more panicked tone, he cuts me off mid-sentence to say "You need to calm down!" and I simply respond "This is calm" before finishing my point, flat out saying that I'm going to leave if this isn't fixed. He lists a bunch of excuses and I tell him I really don't care who's at fault - only that if things remain the same, I'm out. Two weeks later, things are still the same at that job and I get an offer from my current job. I didn't make a big stink about it. I only talked about what happened when people directly asked me about it, and I didn't burn any bridges (not that I'd ever consider going back there even if the alternative was being homeless). I even picked up the weekend shifts that were a few days after my original 2-weeks notice would have been (sacrificing a free weekend before my new job) so that my coworker could go on a vacation she'd been planning, and she and I were the only 2 people trained in our position.
Keep your cool, but know your worth. If you're being treated poorly at your job, look around for something else. There are a lot of places that won't treat you well, and some that will treat you well. I'm speaking as someone lucky enough to currently work at one of the latter. Raising your voice and yelling just makes you the assh*le, even if you were in the right.
“Keep your cool but know your worth.” Some of the best life advice out there!
'He was left in a basket on the steps of the FBI' 🤣
love it!!
When the little guy Jack says, "I'm you, daddy" ... that is when the tears REALLY start to flow. How much more of a tribute could a father ever ask?
oh agreed!!
My favorite is when Emily is being tortured by Scratch because he wants to know where Hotch and Jack are and she says, “ I died for a kid I barely knew. I’ll die again for Jack” I also love “this is calm and it’s Doctor”
My favorite line is, "I'm you, Daddy."
Gets me every time 🥹❤️
Especially after 100.
01:02 - I absolutely LOVE the 0.1 second it takes for Jj to figure out what Emily is doing. *xD*
Same!!
*Prentiss touches Reid's face in comical disbelief. "He's so lifelike."😂

Garcia and Morgan's relationship was so great+
Agreed!!
“ what’s it like at quan-tee-co? “ gets me every time
same!!!
😂😂😂 "where did you find this kid?" "He was left in basket in the steps of the FBI"
Definitely 🎉 🎉🎉 Love him so much and another one for sure.
haha yep Reid is awesome!
the fake fib agent moment was GOLDEN 😂
So sad the presentation about the pet names between Garcia and Morgan didnt end up on here 🤣 i was crying with laughter during that entire part 🤣
I clicked on this video and said “he’s so lifelike” I was gonna be so disappointed if it wasn’t in here 😂
Haha it’s a must!!
I was a little disappointed that the conversation involving chocolate did not make the cut.
I was smiling and laughing at all these iconic quotes........until Hotch's and Jack's scenes........T.T
I was too
They are some perfectly wholesome scenes, and hitch even got to smile.
"I'm you daddy."
I openly sob every time I see that clip.
same!!
"This is calm, and it's Doctor."
one of my favorites
“I thought I was calling the Office of Supreme Genius.”
“Well, gorgeous, you’ve been rerouted to the Office of Too Fricken Bad.”
The early seasons of Criminal Minds had such good writing.
“I just keep getting PHDs” 😅😂😂😂
love Spencer lol!
Almost all of these included Reid of course.
Oh good point! And of course is right!
Is no else else disturbed by Penelope's lack of colour in her clothing in that early scene? I know it was from the start of the show, but jeez it's so WEIRD.
I think it's the first episode, in which case she wasn't supposed to be a recurrent character. After a couple of episodes they gave her a proper personality adjusted with her clothing. (It's like seeing Derek Morgan with a suit... weird)
They were probably also trying to base her off of Abbey from NCIS a bit
“I'm you daddy” oh my god that was so freaking heartwarming I swear 🥹
This show had so many iconic quotes, that it's hard to rank them.
That's why I just put them in order lol! No way could I ever rank them! (And I've noticed that I even missed a couple..)
Just not the same without Shemar & Matthew.
Most definitely not! And Thomas as well!
God I need to watch Criminal Minds again, that cast was the absolute best!
yep!!
"This is calm, and its Dr." BRO REID ALWAYS EATS
he seriously does!!
The fake FBI guy scene was even better when I saw it with no context and thought he was the main character.
This is calm and i'ts doctor badass Spencer Reid
Remind me to have her drug tested
one of my favorites!
"I'm you, daddy." How did anyone on that set not leave in tears during filming?
2:34 I haven’t watched this show in so long yet this still lives in my mind. It’s hilarious 😂
"I worked the case like you said dad"
Thats a stab
When Emily poked Spencer in his cheek, that made me giggle
same!!
All the episodes were great. The one with Brad was hilariously funny
love how you included “i worked the case daddy” LIKE ITS NOT ONE OF THE MOST DEPRESSING LINES EVER
EXACTLY 😭
apologies ❤️
That last one was fantastic!
agreed! love it!
Prentiss pokes Spensers face--"So lifelike",spot on!!
love that one!!
“he was left in a basket on the steps of the fbi” CRYING BECAUSE HE BASICALLY WAS
yup!!
"I'm you daddy." Still gets to me!!
yep, me too. It always will
ok fine i'll rewatch criminal minds
good plan!
I always missed Hotch.
This was such a great show.
Yeah, it was! (Technically “is,” as it’s sorta still going, but I’ve pretty much stopped watching; just weird w/out Thomas, MGG, Shemar)
"And it's Doctor" ...Yep, haven't ever met one that didn't have that line on stand by. No matter if you are a senator or a janitor they will take all the time they need to remind of you of just how important they are.
Usually playing that card when someone is attempting to put them down.
More times than should have happened I've had to do similar because someone who thought they knew something in my field and thought they had authority attempted to use absolutely false standing to impress others they were right. I had to play my card to stop their idiocy from doing harm.
In the very first episode, when Hotch introduces the team, he also says "this is Agent Reid" and immediately gets corrected by Gideon "Dr. Reid!". Later Gideon explains that he always introduces Reid as Dr. so people don't take him lightly because of his age
I love the scene when they are on the plane and talking about boats on Lake Eire. Like, he shouldn't be able to figure that out!
The Lake Mead episode? I love Hotch's fist bump 👊
oh totally!! That's in the "Reid foundation of knowledge" video if you would like to check that out
That or hid knowledge of L.A. traffic patterns, including the most efficient way to get from anywhere to anywhere. Morgan's line about "Who studies traffic patterns in a city 2,000 miles away?" makes me choke almost every time.
He's so lifelike 😂😂😂
a favorite!!
fine ... ill watch criminal minds again
:)
Now I kinda wanna rewatch- this is def a comfort show
totally is!
