Honestly, I think JJ and her mom are both right. Where possible, you need to help kids understand the world around them. However, you can’t just dump things that are overly complex or potentially traumatic on them. For example, JJ should never go into detail about the horrible shit she constantly sees on the job when speaking to her son.
Spence and JJ's mom are right we shouldn't have to shield kids from what the world is like especially with the fairy tales. The older stories sound better anyways
Going further down the rabbit hole, Ring around the Rosie was a song about Bubonic Plague (I think). Many children's stories and songs were cautionary in nature, to prepare them for reality and Life in general
I mean, Dr. Reid got a point about fairy tales. Poeple back in the old days need to warn their children about stranger danger, always come home before sun down and dont get me started on how wrong Disney version of magical creature from the past, fairy were ugly evil being back then.... they make fairy tale like a horror story to make children be more aware to keep them safe. The modern fairy tales that we have right now are mostly just showing how if you struggle and keep, you can achive your happy ending and what with Disney doing right now, children want their parents just to realize and say they sorry for their wrong doing....i not saying that not a bad thing, i just want to point out that we right now limit the lesson that coming from fairy tale because of how scary the story are....
I think it has to do with JJ not wanting to risk the possibility of the good relationship they have get destroyed just because being lovers failed. They also work together and Reid was kind of the baby of the group so it might affect that. It was implied heavily in the last season that JJ did love Reid but didn't do anything then she met her husband came and got pregnant and had her family.
her face when he is telling her about fairy tales is wrong because i would be like yes go on, i would just take it all in, because he is talking to me.
Woahh i knew the gruesome stories about almost all of them but didn’t know sleeping beauty was raped by the king while she was unconscious 😖 man that’s really creepy 🥲

her face and the way she says "thanks for that, spenceee" and his lil laugh "my point is ..." So CUTE
maga Encina all that scene needed was a "you're not helping ...." 😅
They were both reminded of their old dynamic. I've seen scenes from season 1 criminal minds, and back then JJ could never handle Reid getting nerdy.
Oh, I so love it whenever they are together... adorable Spence with his "My point is..." AUUGH!!

*You believe too much in fantasy, you deny the reality that’s right in front of you.*

you don't space out when reid is talking to you, in less you are having a daydream about what you want him to do to you on that table.

still wondering why wasn't he the father.....
Because they're more like brother and sister than lovers
Because it was waaaaaaay too soon.
I do to
Because I like them as friends.

Sadly I already knew this
Still wondering why Reid and JJ ain't a couple
Bloodrayne Soldier Reid not tough enough to be her man and JJ not smart enough to be his gal
Ugh same same
Maybe the showrunners read your comment and then said to each other "shit, Bloodrayne's right. Why aren't they a couple?"
Thats because Read thinks she is a cheater so he keeps playing shiftvgames with her
lol lol @@bobsink624

That one is among the earliest versions of Sleeping Beauty by Giambattista Basile called "Talia, Sun, and Moon".
@@celticpoet21 i didn‘t know about this version , so thank you for the information 😊
