Whenever she hugs Will, she will think of Reid, and whenever Reid hugs his girlfriend, he will think of JJ... "What if" is an unbeatable force. The writers knew what they were doing.
This is so beautiful and true. I actually like that she admitted she loved him at the end of the series. I like how it played out. Like you said, the ‘what if’ here is so powerful.

i know will is a good person, and they never talk about reid-jj romantically the last 14 seasons. but no one can deny the sweetness and depth of their friendship throughout the show. if i were the writer, i would make JJ confession on season 12 or 13, then have will killed in the line of duty on season 14. and on his deathbed in front of JJ, will should ask reid to take care of JJ and the kids, then soon after that he lingers to JJ while saying "I know", referring to her feelings for reid.
I love that Because it is doing the character of will justice sort of and showing he enjoyed his time with her but he knows and respects that she always loved Reid. He knows that JJ loved him as well.i wish this is what happened .
I personally liked it like this more. Having Will be killed just so that they can end up together feels a bit like a cop out to me. I like it when people in shows have feelings for multiple people but choose to only be with 1 and being able to live with that.

Also I personally think if they had killed Will off in season 7 that would have different, then the could have had JJ and Spencer together around season 9 or 10. Or if the writers just had JJ and Will breakup prior to her return in season 7 then they could've later explained the reason for it being JJ's miscarriage and the two just not being able to get past it I could see that. Especially around seasons 7-15 Will really isn't seen very much.

Now after Morgan left I couldn’t watch it anymore only season 12 but I had to come back for this.but if they went out after all dis it would be awkward tho but I love them both
this is just ridiculous, at first on season 1 - 2 i of course shipped them, but after all that happened? it's been 14 years, this is insane! i wish they never did that, if the writers wanted them to become a couple, then at max they could've made it happen on s5 or something like this, but this is just wrong

I have actually thought about how they ended this relationship before and I had thought of the most perfect way for this to end in one of two ways. Ending 1 - In this scene Reid had been the one to take JJ to the hospital, and had been told unless he was immediate family he couldn’t see JJ. In order to see her he lied saying he was her husband and he is let through. Reid tells JJ about his lie and they share a moment when she confesses about meaning what she said about loving him. From the window Will see’s the two and realizes that they are in love. Reid leaves the room apologizing and allows Will and the boys to see Jennifer. Will tells the boys to give him and JJ a moment, and he tells her that he can see that her and Spencer love each other. He tells her that Reid is the better man and JJ finally admits it. He says they can tell the boys once everything is settled down and he kisses her forehead before leaving the room. Will leaves the room spotting Spencer sitting in chair talking to the boys. He smiles at the sight and walks over to them. Reid spots him and tells the boys he’ll be right back and walks over to meet Will. They both greet each other with a handshake and Spencer asks what is wrong noticing Will’s behavior. Will tells Spencer about what he had told JJ and Spencer denies not wanting him to cause a drift between JJ and Will. Will says it’s fine and pats Reid’s shoulder saying to take care of JJ. Will then walks off to the boys embracing them. Spencer looks back at the three softly smiling mouthing a thank you to Will. Will smiles back and mouths go to her back to him. Spencer looks towards the room and back to Will and then back to the room. He walks towards the room and meets JJ’s eyes. He walks over to her after closing the room door. He sits in the chair next to the hospital bed and says “Will had told me what he said to you.” She sighs and says back “I know he did.” They glance at each other again and both say at the same time “What are we now?” They both chuckle and Spencer says “I want whatever you want. Whether is be best friends or something more. I think or at least I hope that you want to be more.” JJ smiles and says back to him “Yeah. I’d really like that Spence.” Spencer blushes and says “I’m glad.” They make eye contact once again and smile. Instead of kissing her though he instead interlocks their hands together. He rubs his thumb gently across her hand and softly kisses it smiling like an dufus in love. They both hear a knock at the door and turn to see Will and the boys there. “The boys wanted to see you JJ.” Will says. JJ’s smile becomes wider and invites them all in. The scene ends with Will, Spencer, and the boys all around JJ smiling and conversing. It then ends with a close up on both JJ and Spencer holding hands. Ending 2 - Instead of ending season 14 with the wedding instead it leave off much differently. JJ and Spencer are talking at the bar just before the cake cutting just like in the showcase but while talking they head someone yell “Call 9-1-1” They both rush over to see what had happened and are shocked to see Will on the ground. JJ immediately panics and is scrambling to help. She is calmed down by Spencer and the paramedics show up to the scene. Then at the beginning of Season 15 it shows that Will had gotten a stroke due to an underlying medical condition. He is getting treated at the hospital while JJ attempts to balance both him, the boys, and work. Although the whole team including Spencer told her to take time off. One day while working on a case JJ gets a call and takes it in the other room. Through the glass window she is seen to break down in tears. Both Emily and Spencer making eye contact and she indirectly says go to her this causes Spencer to quickly rush over to see what is wrong. Spencer calms her down and asks her what is wrong. She tells him that the doctors can’t do anything for Will now beside make him comfortable and he only has very little time left. Spencer is also shocked by the news and tells JJ to go home. She is clearly emotionally unstable and Spencer sticks to her side until she can go home. Emily realizes that JJ won’t have anyone to take care of her and help with the boys, so she tells Spencer to go with JJ because the case had been almost wrapped up. He agrees wanting to be with JJ during this time and they leave for home. Garcia ends up going on the filed to help with the case in location. Spencer helps out with the boys while JJ helps Will. Although JJ had told Spencer multiple time she doesn’t have to , he doesn’t listen and continues to help out. They end up sharing a moment after putting the boys to bed and sharing a drink. Both realize this wouldn’t be fair to Will and decide to remain friends. For the rest of the week things had been awkward between the two until JJ gets a call from the hospital saying Will doesn’t have enough energy to pull through and is in pain. JJ realizes the inevitable and knows she has to let him go. Both JJ and Spencer go to the hospital and leave the boys with Garcia. JJ ends up panicking and Spencer once again calms her down pulling her into a hug. She cries into his chest letting everything out and Will watches their encounter realizes their love for each other. After a few minutes JJ steps into the room with Spencer. Spencer ends up leaving to give the two privacy after saying his goodbye to Will. Will and JJ embrace both crying and Will whispers in her ear as they hug “Go be with him.” This causes JJ to be shocked and she pulls back questioning what he was talking about. Will then explains “You and him love each other. You look at him the way you have never looked at me. He is it for you. I can tell. I’ll always love you JJ and I know you love me too, but just not in the way you love him. That’s okay. If I’m gonna die today I want to die knowing their is someone out there who loves and cares for you and the boys. That’s Spencer.” His words cause JJ to cry more and she manages to let out “I’m sorry Will. I’m so sorry.” He smiles at her saying “You don’t need to say sorry JJ. Love is love and there is no stopping it. He’s a good man. Now I’ll die in peace knowing when you walk out that door you tell him how you feel.” JJ smiles back crying and gives Will a peck on his lips. A goodbye kiss and a thank you for everything. He kisses her forehead and closes his eyes. The room fills with a beeping sound indicating Will had passed. JJ continues it cry and the nurse apologizes for her loss. JJ nods her head and walks out of the room to be met by Reid. They embrace with JJ crying into his chest and Reid trying to hold back tears. They both walk outside and towards the car sitting inside. JJ deeply sighs before saying “Will wanted me to do something once he died.” Spencer looks over to her saying “What is it? If you want to tell me.” JJ then says “He wanted me to do this.” She then leans in connecting their lips in a soft kiss before pulling back “I love you Spence. I always have. Will knew too and he wanted me to tell you because he knew I wanted to tell you.” Spencer turns a dark red before saying “I love you too Jennifer.” They both smile softly through tears before Spencer speaks again “I know we can’t do anything right now, but in a few months we can talk about this again. I don’t want any of this to be any pressure on you. So in 3 months I’ll tell you this again. Then we can see what happened from there. I can wait for you. I mean I have for 14 years so what is another 3 months?” Jennifer smiles back at him putting her hand on his “Sounds like a date.” The scene ends and with the episodes continuing on it shows how everyone mourns Will’s death and eventually lets him go over the course of 3 months. The series ends with JJ leaving work and gets off the elevator to be met by Spencer by her car. She raises an eyebrow at him and Spencer walks over to her. He takes both her hands in his and turns red. He looks up to JJ and the asks “So how about that date?” JJ smiles at him and the two share a kiss. Then the scene ends wrapping up the series.

I’m sorry but I do not see it, they really just needed to add something at this point. Their relationship always felt like a sibling one (MINUS the part where he had a crush on her), I NEVER saw a spark between them. Lol guess I might have been the only one against this, this just felt weird and out of place to me.

He sits in the chair next to the hospital bed and says “Will had told me what he said to you.” She sighs and says back “I know he did.” They glance at each other again and both say at the same time “What are we now?” They both chuckle and Spencer says “I want whatever you want. Whether is be best friends or something more. I think or at least I hope that you want to be more.” JJ smiles and says back to him “Yeah. I’d really like that Spence.” Spencer blushes and says “I’m glad.” They make eye contact once again and smile. Instead of kissing her though he instead interlocks their hands together. He rubs his thumb gently across her hand and softly kisses it smiling like an dufus in love. They both hear a knock at the door and turn to see Will and the boys there. “The boys wanted to see you JJ.” Will says. JJ’s smile becomes wider and invites them all in. The scene ends with Will, Spencer, and the boys all around JJ smiling and conversing. It then ends with a close up on both JJ and Spencer holding hands.
Ending 2 - Instead of ending season 14 with the wedding instead it leave off much differently. JJ and Spencer are talking at the bar just before the cake cutting just like in the showcase but while talking they head someone yell “Call 9-1-1” They both rush over to see what had happened and are shocked to see Will on the ground. JJ immediately panics and is scrambling to help. She is calmed down by Spencer and the paramedics show up to the scene. Then at the beginning of Season 15 it shows that Will had gotten a stroke due to an underlying medical condition. He is getting treated at the hospital while JJ attempts to balance both him, the boys, and work. Although the whole team including Spencer told her to take time off. One day while working on a case JJ gets a call and takes it in the other room. Through the glass window she is seen to break down in tears. Both Emily and Spencer making eye contact and she indirectly says go to her this causes Spencer to quickly rush over to see what is wrong. Spencer calms her down and asks her what is wrong. She tells him that the doctors can’t do anything for Will now beside make him comfortable and he only has very little time left. Spencer is also shocked by the news and tells JJ to go home. She is clearly emotionally unstable and Spencer sticks to her side until she can go home. Emily realizes that JJ won’t have anyone to take care of her and help with the boys, so she tells Spencer to go with JJ because the case had been almost wrapped up. He agrees wanting to be with JJ during this time and they leave for home. Garcia ends up going on the filed to help with the case in location. Spencer helps out with the boys while JJ helps Will. Although JJ had told Spencer multiple time she doesn’t have to , he doesn’t listen and continues to help out. They end up sharing a moment after putting the boys to bed and sharing a drink. Both realize this wouldn’t be fair to Will and decide to remain friends. For the rest of the week things had been awkward between the two until JJ gets a call from the hospital saying Will doesn’t have enough energy to pull through and is in pain. JJ realizes the inevitable and knows she has to let him go. Both JJ and Spencer go to the hospital and leave the boys with Garcia. JJ ends up panicking and Spencer once again calms her down pulling her into a hug. She cries into his chest letting everything out and Will watches their encounter realizes their love for each other. After a few minutes JJ steps into the room with Spencer. Spencer ends up leaving to give the two privacy after saying his goodbye to Will. Will and JJ embrace both crying and Will whispers in her ear as they hug “Go be with him.” This causes JJ to be shocked and she pulls back questioning what he was talking about. Will then explains “You and him love each other. You look at him the way you have never looked at me. He is it for you. I can tell. I’ll always love you JJ and I know you love me too, but just not in the way you love him. That’s okay. If I’m gonna die today I want to die knowing their is someone out there who loves and cares for you and the boys. That’s Spencer.” His words cause JJ to cry more and she manages to let out “I’m sorry Will. I’m so sorry.” He smiles at her saying “You don’t need to say sorry JJ. Love is love and there is no stopping it. He’s a good man. Now I’ll die in peace knowing when you walk out that door you tell him how you feel.” JJ smiles back crying and gives Will a peck on his lips. A goodbye kiss and a thank you for everything. He kisses her forehead and closes his eyes. The room fills with a beeping sound indicating Will had passed. JJ continues it cry and the nurse apologizes for her loss. JJ nods her head and walks out of the room to be met by Reid. They embrace with JJ crying into his chest and Reid trying to hold back tears. They both walk outside and towards the car sitting inside. JJ deeply sighs before saying “Will wanted me to do something once he died.” Spencer looks over to her saying “What is it? If you want to tell me.” JJ then says “He wanted me to do this.” She then leans in connecting their lips in a soft kiss before pulling back “I love you Spence. I always have. Will knew too and he wanted me to tell you because he knew I wanted to tell you.” Spencer turns a dark red before saying “I love you too Jennifer.” They both smile softly through tears before Spencer speaks again “I know we can’t do anything right now, but in a few months we can talk about this again. I don’t want any of this to be any pressure on you. So in 3 months I’ll tell you this again. Then we can see what happened from there. I can wait for you. I mean I have for 14 years so what is another 3 months?” Jennifer smiles back at him putting her hand on his “Sounds like a date.” The scene ends and with the episodes continuing on it shows how everyone mourns Will’s death and eventually lets him go over the course of 3 months. The series ends with JJ leaving work and gets off the elevator to be met by Spencer by her car. She raises an eyebrow at him and Spencer walks over to her. He takes both her hands in his and turns red. He looks up to JJ and the asks “So how about that date?” JJ smiles at him and the two share a kiss. Then the scene ends wrapping up the series.
Okay so I hate that I’m watching this now but I’m on season 6 on Netflix and the last three seasons are not. Do anybody have any clue where I can watch them ?

I’m sorry but I do not see it, they really just needed to add something at this point. Their relationship always felt like a sibling one (MINUS the part where he had a crush on her), I NEVER saw a spark between them. Lol guess I might have been the only one against this, this just felt weird and out of place to me.
