The problem with relying on the BMI charts is that it doesn't take body type and bone structure into consideration. I used to be so skinny that when people looked at my face they thought "skeleton". But according to the BMI I was still 5 pounds OVERWEIGHT. I weighed 140, but according to the BMI, the top weight for my height was 135. But that didn't take into consideration my large bone structure. Even though I had a 20½" waistline, my bones were STILL so large I had to wear a man's watch, since a woman's watch was just to small. My best friend on the other hand, had a small bone structure. She was at the bottom of the BMI for her height, and was still OBVIOUSLY overweight. The BMI is just an approximation, an average. There ARE people that are outliers that the BMI doesn't take into account; it COULDN'T or the spread would be so wide as to be meaningless. Please use other methods to determine that your weight is optimal than JUST the BMI. My health suffered from trusting the BMI, it had me SEVERELY underweight, and undernourished to the point I looked anorexic. And now I have trouble loosing weight because my body slows down my metabolism rather then allowing me to loose weight. That's a common anatomical reaction when you've been too thin before. When there's not enough calories to cover your needs, your body slows metabolism rather than losing weight.
@@juliebaker6969 I totally agree with you. The ketogenic lifestyle is self regulating. It allows your body to lose or gain what is needed for homeostasis. The BMI is pretty irrelevant IMO. Same with your blood chemistry. You follow ketogenic or low carb lifestyle, your chemistry regulates itself for optimization. The only thing I disagree with is, people chasing a target number for blood pressure. I researched this a long while back and learned that the parameter for a healthy BP wasn't devised by doctors and scholars, but the pharmaceutical companies. They're the ones that paid their way to lower numbers. They get to cast a wider net and get more and more people on meds. The data is out there for anyone to research. Does anyone really think it logical that a 6'5 250 lb football player should have the same BP as a 5'3 115 lb women. Of course not!. BP should be different for different body types and whatever stressors are happening at the moment your BP is taken. There's a lot of factors involved.
Congratulations on your Blood Work Results and your weight loss! Would you please let me know what Carb Counting App you were using. I can't seem to find it in the Description section. Thanking you in advance.
P.S. -- The both of you should do blood work NOT saliva test to see what number your APO-E-Gene is. The number 2 means you "need to eat fats" to avoid certain illnesses that lead to death and the number 4 means that you will get different illnesses if you eat fats of any kind, which also lead to death. Then there is the #3, which means that you have to eat a Low Fat diet. Then there are sub categories, ie: 2/3 or 3/4.
Congrats!!! I am at 1 year Keto-vore. I started at 365, currently 285! I was "type 2" and on 10 meds. I have been under constant doctor supervision and today i am off ALL meds (doctor's directives)!!! My BP, glucose, and cholesterol are all from Critical Bad to NORMAL!!
Insulin resistance and inflammation is the most important reason to eat keto/carnivore. It has reversed my Type 2 diabetes, reversed hypertension (high blood pressure), reversed depression, reversed joint pain and on and on and on……. and off multiple medications. We are on the right track. ❤❤❤❤
The AIP diet is actually really helpful, but also being aware that there are different inflammation triggers and not everybody reacts to different foods the same. When you go to the allergist they give you a blood test and sometimes it comes back that you are sensitive to egg whites or peanuts. There are a lot of factors here to consider, but ultimately checking your inflammation levels with a blood test will give you a good indication of how you're doing.
@@princessbabibear4794 I have researched it but Keto/carnivore works best for me. AIP probably works better for younger people without all the chronic illnesses that low/no carbs heal. It’s better than the regular diet but eating keto/carnivore is not about allergies. It’s about insulin resistance and chronic inflammation.
@NotJustBBQLLC bs. People with CKD can't do it, and people can have it without knowing it. Type 1 diabetics shouldn't do it either. It's too much protein for them.
I adopted the Keto lifestyle 5 years ago. I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. My doctor just kept increasing my dose of metformin to deal with it. Long story short, I lost 80 pounds, stopped taking all diabetes drugs, and feel better than I have in 30 years.
I would love to see some "What We Eat In A Day" type videos and also some of your favorite things to prepare that go along with this lifestyle. I have been watching y'all for years. The first video I watched was about all the seedlings dying...so way back. You guys are some of my favorite UA-camrs and I love all the information and teaching you both do.
@@Luna_StarFerybacon, eggs, meat, fat, avocados, leftovers - or skip it and start eating at lunch. I now often eat hamburger or steak and eggs at first meal of the day. Yummy!
Cholesterol is good for you. We've been lied to for many, many years. I've been eating this way for over 7 years, and I'll never go back to eating carbs and feeling like absolute garbage.
Right, the body (liver and brain specifically) produce cholesterol daily. The more you eat dietary cholesterol (like eggs, meat or cheese) the less the body synthetize it. Only damaged (sugar oxidised) cholesterol is bad. We've been lied by our "experts", doctors, nutritionists for years. There's no money to be made out of healthy people!
I’ve had the exact opposite experience. I started eating a high carb low fat low protein diet about 9 years ago, lost 65 pounds, have more energy, started running half marathons, and my bloodwork improved dramatically.
@@HomewithLoraThe same thing happened to me. I felt horrible on keto, personally. I understand not everyone has this experience, but a high fat diet made me constantly nauseous and foggy. I went plant based and everything improved drastically. The one thing I found is that I do miss fat a lot, but when I add fat back to my diet, my blood sugar goes haywire. (I’m type 2 diabetic.) If I stay low-fat, I can eat potatoes and such with no issues, but the minute I add a little fat back, my glucose gets bad again. Seems like the whole “everything in moderation” thing is a lie.
Congratulations, you two! Im 62. I started carnivore in March 2023. I have lost 35lbs, reversed my a1c from 9 to 5.4 thereby reversing my diabetes. Lowered my bp from 200/180 to 140/70. Still runs high, but my cortisol is out of wack due to PTSD and anxiety, which are improving. I recommend Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Chafee as good mentors. Both on YT Thank you for sharing!
@@tammybenadventures4839 I'm doing more keto now. Carnivore helped me to eliminate the carb cravings. I've added in green beans, cabbage and a few more very low carb greens. Many plants can cause inflammation. Carnivore resets the metabolic systems.
My husband was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes -- his AIC was 7.1. We told the doctor that we wanted to get our diet under control because we didn't want to start any prescription drugs. My brother-in-law was previously diagnosed with diabetes and started keto and has his blood sugar under control now and is no longer considered a diabetic -- he has been doing Keto for 3 years and all of his blood work has improved. We are following in his footsteps and have been doing keto for 2 weeks. My husband has been testing his blood every morning and after our evening meals and we have already seen an improvement in his glucose numbers. It is amazing to me that I feel satisfied after eating and have no cravings for sweets!! Our clothes fit better and we both feel better too! Blessings!
I jumped on the keto train January 3 2023, am don’t 112 pounds and off diabetic, blood pressure, psoriatic arthritis meds. I am alive again🎉. Congratulations, I am so happy for you both.
@@lorizeimet1192 believe me you can and I also completely stopped drinking any form of alcohol. The first 2 weeks are hard but it becomes much easier after you see the first 20 pounds come off. Good luck!
I’ve always been suspicious of Keto, but my daughter and son in law did Keto. They’ve been married 10yrs and haven’t conceived, but now are expecting.Only thing they’ve done differiently
You're suspicious because people from our generation have been lied to for decades by the "healthcare" system and food industry. Congratulations! Keto heals bodies.
Awesome!!! I’ve been watching what I eat the last 2 1/2 yrs. I was at 170 (I’m 5’1” and 73 yrs old). I’m down to 134# !!! I feel so good!!! I haven’t had blood work done yet. Colene ❤
Congratulations, I have gone from 325 lbs down to 193 lbs, A1C down from 11.7 to 5.5, I am off of almost all meds. The Ketocontinuum - Dr Boz, helped and guided me. Again Congratulations!!!
Morning! Ive been doing Carnivore since February! Down 66 lbs, off BP meds and no longer pre diabetic. I will never willingly go back to eating SAD. I feel 20 years younger. I also do intermittent fasting, skipping breakfast too.
I have been Carnivore for 38 days now and down 14 lbs and ZERO Inflamation. I have been going to a Chiropractor for a year and a half prior to Carnivor for severe neck and shoulder pain and I went for traction 2 times a week at a cost of 70.00 twice a week. 2 weeks into Carnivore and I have had ZERO pain remaining. Myself and my wife are both going to try and stick to it. we buy our beef from a local organic farmer a whole beef at a time so that keeps the cost low, plus we have our own chickens for the egg's. I am 64 and feel way better already at 38 days in. The worst part for me was the honey and maple syrup i put in my coffee that I can't have any more.
It's great to see you support the keto lifestyle. I started keto and intermittent fasting about 18 months ago. I was just under 300 pounds. I have lost over 100 pounds. My A1c is in the normal range, and my cholesterol levels never looked so good. The funny thing is my sister is a doctor and my PCP. She tried to tell me that keto was not the way to go. Now she is changing the way she eats!
Removing factory oils is important to removing that inflammation. I react to those oils quickly and my inflammation and pain returns within 20 minutes and tends to last 3 days at least. I’m learning a lot by listening to my body.
You are so correct. Factory oils are called vegetable oils but they are actually seed oils. Examples of these factory seeds oils are Crisco, cottonseed oil, corn oil, canola, soybean, safflower seed, sunflower seeds, peanut oil, rapeseed oil and more. They are made from being heated and then chemically treated in a variety of ways to make them palatable. They are omega 6 of which our bodies only need a very little bit of to begin with. Since they are in all processed foods and the oils that most people cook with with we have way way too much and it harms us. We need more omega 3s and way less of omega 6 and then always from a natural source (like a few of healthy nuts or whole seeds). Just eat whole foods to be healthy. 😀
seed oils. Canola, safflower, etc. These are all processed oils and have been proven to cause bad health. Look up Dr. Ken Berry and look up his video on seed oils.@@happycamper47
Congratulations! We went on keto because my husband was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and overweight. We wanted to handle it through diet and not medication. The doctor gave us the warning about watching cholesterol. Over the course of 6 months or so, he not only lost weight and got his diabetes under control, his cholesterol stayed in normal range. I’m very skeptical about the food pyramid being accurate. The doctors are learning about all this too.
This. The food pyramid. Our government doesn’t do anything unless there is money attached to it. This is a terrific way to eat if you can achieve it! We have been told for years that if we eat fats we will increase our cholesterol. Turns out that doesn’t happen. We don’t digest fats. We digest carbs and that unused portion goes straight to the liver if you are healthy and turned into fat which is then deposited all over. Cholesterol is fat that is made by our own livers!
Carnivore here. You two are doing great! As a carnivore way of eating, I don’t eat any fiber and have no constipation. Your body has less waste with meat only and you don’t go as often. No fiber, no bloat. Keto and carnivore are definitely the proper way to feed the human body.
Awesome. I've been keto for 7 months. Weight down from 202 to157. A1c down from 6.0 to 4.7. Waist size down from 42 to 34. Top size down from XL to Sm. Brain fog gone, energy of a crazy woman, climbing scaffolds, building a house, no nerd for mid-day naps. I'm 74, and tried for years to accomplish this. Only could do it when I found the drboz channel and began to get educated on how the body actually works. Keep sharing the news about your keto accomplishments. It is a matter of life and death for so many. ❤
Great job guys! Thanks for sharing the numbers. Fat is king with the absence of sugar and factory foods. I started at 315lbs, have managed to keep 100lbs off for 5 years now. I am currently running 185lbs. Keep up the keto!!!
I’ve been living the healthy keto lifestyle for 16 months, no more gallbladder/liver pain and bonus I’ve lost 40 pounds! Never going back! Congratulations to you!
I'm keto and OMAD. I have arthritis (I'm 64) and lichen planus an autoimmune thing. I had everything under control while I was pure keto and fell off the wagon. Everything came back. I'm back on the wagon and things are settling back down. This diet really works for increased health.
i prefer 2mad. you have achy joints- do you eat oxalates? Almonds, Spinach, Soy, Rhubarb? Look up a list and limit or avoid the top offenders. Could be that and not permanent arthritis. Things are not always what we think.
Now that you’ve experienced the benefits of keto, take a leap and feel the miracle of carnivore! At 67, I’ve lost 50# since March, I’m at my lowest adult weight, down to my elementary school size - yes, this is the first way of eating that this lifetime carb addict has been successful with. People come to carnivore for the weight loss but stay for the amazing health benefits. ❤
PS - Fiber is NOT needed to be regular, fiber makes the digestive system overwork needlessly, proper fat ratio is the key. Zero vegetable fiber for eight months, regular bm daily, but the volume is 75% less, taking less toilet time and tp.
The man who invented the ADKINS DIET, diet from a heart attack! Think about that when you eat all that meat. It is not wise to eat a lot of meat unless you’re raising the meat you eat and know what the animal is consuming.
some days the minimal amount fiber I still eat causes me use of serious amounts tp which causes me great annoyance and I am on verge of quitting leafy greens and all carbs😁@@jodieervin5748
Congratulations you two! You look and sound so much better (happier and healthier) than a couple of years ago. Same here! Multiple health benefits and I feel fantastic! The only ‘problem’ I experience is some form of loneliness and isolation related to lifestyle changes. I’m, unfortunately, not able to homestead. I don’t eat out anymore, though I could - food is just tastier and healthier and far less expensive at home. I can easily go to parties, generally bring something carnivorous that I can eat, or just skip eating. Not many parties in my world anymore, and I don’t drink alcohol. Many typical social interactions are less of an option, so still a work in progress for me… wish I knew some local homesteaders I could visit, and perhaps help out, in my area
UA-cam Dr Ken Berry, Dr. Chaffee and many more Dr's are doing the keto, ketovore & carnivore diet it's called the proper human diet and getting rid of the American Standard diet. Benefiting many, many people. You guys are doing great! Love you videos ❤
I’ve been keto for years now, and it’s been a lifesaver. I can’t believe all the nonsense people spew when you eat differently than they do. Especially when they’re eating so much junk and somehow they think they’re healthier than you. You’re doing a great job. Congratulations.
Congrats! It has been a while since I’ve watched your channel and I didn’t recognize you but wanted to watch the video because keto was in the title. I’ve been doing keto a while and got similar results on my bloodwork. Congrats again on the good bloodwork! You look GREAT!!!
Me too. I started carnivore because I have tremendous pain from inflammation caused by Rheumatoid Arthritis. I really wanted to stop the inflammation and pain. By eating carnivore I lost 65 pounds w/o trying. I still have inflammation but it is getting better. I'm thankful for improvement.
My husband and I transitioned to a keto diet almost 2 years ago and like you have had great success. I’ve lost 36 pounds and feel so much better, and so does my husband. As an artisan baker, I’ve been relearning how to bake keto with almond, coconut, cassava, and other flours combined with butter, cheese, and eggs. It’s great that you are living the keto lifestyle. You look fantastic! Thanks for sharing! Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 ❤
@@krickette5569 Yes it is. And Steve from Serious Keto just had a video on a new keto bread that didn't throw him out of ketosis, in fact, it deepened it.
You did great. I am 80 years old. I started Keto a year before you. I weighed 330 pounds and I was diabetic. I lost 86 pounds and I am no longer diabetic or prediobetic. My blood numbers are not as good as yours. I wasn't as strict as you. You have inspired me. I have platowed. I can loose more.. I was thrilled when you said you started keto. We all have to keep it up. Thank you.
Have you tried the 30 day BBB&E challenge from Dr Ken Berry? It did wonders for me so I stayed on it for 90 days. It might be the thing to kick you out of your plateau. It stands for beef, butter bacon and eggs. Delicious!
Intermittent fasting along with a strict keto diet until I got to my goal weight was the key for me...then I started adding one thing at a time back to see what happened, could back off if I was stiff, sore or just feeling not right...Most things I thought I wanted, were just meh...I don't crave junk food anymore. Makes it easier to life a happier healthier life.
I went on the keto diet a year ago for about 5 months and had an extreme transformation. Then I went full carnivore and cut out all the carbs totally. Then my health went through the roof I feel like Superman every day. I've lost 100 pounds in less than 1 year. Also I have reversed almost all of my metabolic issues. I truly do feel like a superhero.
I’m carnivore also and my inflammation is gone BP is great now was pre diabetic no more, lost 30 pds in less then 3 months! My A1c was 6.7 before 4 weeks later it was 5.4!!
The whites of your eyes are so bright and clear - that in itself says a LOT about your health and your liver. Well done! I hover between healthy Keto and carnivore and it has changed my life - joint pain and inflammation gone. Blood pressure fantastic, health numbers great for this 64 year old woman. No meds, seldom if ever sick and allergies gone!
Yes! I went through two series of allergy shots, one lasting SEVEN YEARS, and my allergies came back almost immediately after ending the shots. Keto got rid of the allergies almost completely.
Everything you say about your Keto experience mirrors ours exactly. My husband and I live in Bulgaria. Have been Keto for 2 and a half years. We have chickens for eggs, buy meat from the local farmers and grow what we need in the garden. I also can a lot. We followed Dr Sten Ekberg at the beginning and that worked for us. We will be staying on this permanently. I am 71 not on any meds, neither is my hubby.
Keto eating literally saved my life. Began in 2017 and over about 2 or 3 years lost 80# and completely changed my health. I am now on no medications at age 77. I am now eating ketovore and feeling great. Thanks for sharing this information.
Yes Keto! I went on Keto and after 2 mos went in for my yearly check up, best blood work I have had in years, sed rate was normal for the first time in years! Dr was very happy. And I had lost 15 pounds !
All of us that has learned the benefits of Keto eating has payed off big time ,, in 2017 I was at 388 pounds ,, one year later I was at 300 pounds. And just to remind you I eat nothing to do with sugar. And I’m a truck driver so I did not do no excise at all. Living 10 hours a day before going home. And I was able to lose 3 Pounds every 2 weeks. I have been holding my weight at 240 pounds which was and still is my goal. And now it’s Nov 2023. And Keto has change my life No blood pressure problems my body is in the range of my needs at the age of 66 and I did 20 carbs per day. This is and where I found it works the best for me,,
Awesome! I started a Carnivore lifestyle on February 1, 2023, (from Paleo) and I feel better at 61 than I have felt in decades! No more joint issues, no more inflammation, no more IBS, my mind up is clearer, I have lost that stubborn 10 pounds hanging around my belly, and I am not going back! Kudos to the both of you, keep going! Please note, the “normals” for some of these labs is actually not physiologically correct, especially LDL, which is falling out of favor as a marker. Heart attack, stroke, and diabetes always start with consistently high carbohydrate loads. Socrates: Let food be your medicine.
Very encouraging! Thanks for sharing! I was diagnosed with prediabetes and told to go on a low carb diet. After a few months, I've lost 18 pounds and have more energy and less pain and have reversed my prediabetes. It works!
Keto has been a game changer for me . I could never loose weight , i felt tired all the time , brain fog , ect. I started keto--- I lost weight , the brain fog went away , i didnt feel tired anymore. The only people on this earth that will never get skin cancer are carnivores. Most people have no idea why carnivore lifestyle works so well. It's because we were never taught about the 4th stage of water anywhere. Professor Gerald Pollack discovered the ez gel (cold plasma). The ez gel is locked into animal fat. Leafy greens, cabbage, kale (cruciferous) zukes, cukes, spinach, string beans--it all depends on how many carbs you want to use that way. I did Keto a few years back and lost over 50 Lbs. Then we moved to a small rural town and I got lazy. Weight came back, inflammation came back, I was tired and taking naps through out the day.Totally lost my zest for anything in life. Used to do crafts, explore near by towns and exhibits, etc.......Funny you made this video cuz last week I started back up again and I am already feeling better. Forgot a lot of my old recipes, but finding them again and getting back on track.
Very happy for you! More important than weight is the waist size. Not eating garbage foods (invented by humans in the last hundred years) is not dieting. The need for fiber is just another lie, just as the cholesterol one, only in reverse. The corrupt will try to steer you away from health. I'm doing it for almost 10 years and never felt better. You have the perfect circumstances to live healthy and also enlightening others.
Completely amazing! I just started my keto lifestyle change 3 weeks ago. You two are an inspiration to keep going with this change for my own life. Thank you so much for giving us all something to work towards!
I started mine 2 weeks ago. At first I thought, what am I doing? Right before the holidays and a baby shower the middle of January? But there’s always something. I went carnivore for a week and got too sick. I couldn’t even eat and the smell of meat and eggs repulsed me. I think I was going through sugar and carb withdrawal, oxalate dumping and detoxing. I added carbs back in and feel much better. I downloaded the carb manager but I let myself go low carb at first to ease into it. I stay under 50 carbs most days or barely over. It’s only been a couple weeks but I’m losing weight and inflammation. I feel a lot better so I’m excited to see how I feel a few months from now. I have a lot of health issues is why I backed off but I’m striving for lower carbs in the future.
I am with you. I was over 25 pounds too heavy, taking blood pressure meds and was prediabetic. I went low carb, kind of keto and got my A1C out of prediabetic range and into normal. No blood pressure meds. I bought myself a glucose monitor so I could check and see what I can eat and not eat. I can eat sweet potatoes, a half apple etc but can't eat rice, most breads, white potatoes. That has really helped me. Sorry so many are giving you grief, one of my sisters does me too but your doing what you think is right for you. I had breast cancer in 2017 and I kind of blame my diet on it in a small part because sugar feeds cancer and I was a big sweet eater. Number one reason to go low carb. Keep up the good work.
Congrats on your health progress. Could you please explain how you used glucose monitoring to determine what foods you can tolerate. When did you test, etc.
I was surprised to hear that apples are high carb. The old adage, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" is stuck in my head. I totally get the philosophy of Keto and that it seems to be the best lifestyle for some people. I also believe that when you feel good on a regimen and are able to be in less pain and also see adverse symptoms go away, you must be on the right track. So happy for you both that you are doing so well.
Apples and spinach are power foods. I would never get rid of apples! I do peel apples that are sprayed by the farmer. And no imported foods....local only. They are not as sweet as other fruit and real pure maple syrup has more calcium than milk. Pasta and bread are the worse carbs. The 18 hr fasting they do is key to their health success.
Thank you for sharing your story! I started this way of eating in March. At 52, I feel better than ever. I lost 20 pounds and still need to lose, but I feel great. I also do IF, between noon and 6 pm. It's so great to watch a channel that supports my woe.
What a great explanation. I loved the way you talked about why you did it and what that lifestyle of eating has done for you. And to put all those "naysayers" who probably hadn't done one bit of research to bed. Honest and straight forward. Loved it.
Congrats on finding the eating lifestyle that works best for you! It's always gratifying to find a way to FEEL better in general. Looking better is just a nice bonus to doing what's best for you. You're absolutely right about controlling and getting rid of inflammation. As we age, it gets even more important to know how to negate it.
My obgyn, suggested I start keto, I was 45, premenopausal. It’s hard for me to keep my clean eating, as I’m the only one. I really do feel my best on clean keto! Congratulations!
This was so encouraging. I have been reading all the testimonies in the comments and they just confirm to me that our food is killing us slowly. So many IBS and pain suffers. We are among them. Thank you for the follow up. So encouraging. Now I have some work to do! Tired of feeling this way.
On Keto since July, and lost 26 lbs so far. Down two sizes, and halfway to my goal. I find it easy, since I love meat, cheese and eggs. I allow myself 1 cheat day a month. I have serious osteoarthritis, and until I started this,I needed a cane to walk anywhere . No more. I feel better and look better!
Way to go! I don't cheat hardly ever anymore...just not worth being sick for days and days and all the bubble guts and pain. No thank you! I'm glad you are feeling so much better.
Congratulations! I did keto for a couple years just before I retired which was just as covid hit. While in lock downs and being isolated becauseoflivingalone, I sadly slipped back into my old ways. Thank you for the inspiration to change back! You both look SO healthy along with the numbers to prove it!! Again, congrats!
that's totally awesome… Best thing you can ever do. I think you can look at those who were questioning you and say OK well, where is your health. Our doctors are not telling us the truth they have fallen into program that involves you being an unhealthy, having to have medicine and your life short. You'll never be the same. I was keto for a couple years and now I'm carnivore and I had fibromyalgia and it's almost all gone. It's amazing I didn't tell anybody for a while because I was in shock that it really happened. If you don't wanna be diabetic, you don't wanna have pain running through your body, because of inflammation, or some dire sicknessmake some changes. Thanks for getting out there and telling the people your situation.
For over a 1 year we were as strick KETO as you are. Now we have added more fruit and organic potatoes. I now make my sourdough organic breads. So far so good. Keto defiantly was a great way to learn to eat better. :)
Fantastic video! I have a few friends who do keto, yet, I could not believe it. In July- you two did a video and I was BLOWN away on how Sarah looked. She spent the entire video kind of putting her hands on her jeans and we laughed she was almost still getting used to her tiny new jeans. Truthfully, our mouths were both agape. I was SOLD. My husband and I had put on a few lbs during the pandemic, and bad habits crept up and threw a few more on top. Keto since the end of July- we have both lost 20+ lbs each. My heaviest was 152 and at 5'3- I was dropping into depression, which I've never experienced. I refused to buy bigger clothes- so I had only a few outfits. This morning my scale told me I was 129. My goal was 135! We cheat here and there- and didn't even realize we have switched to intermittent fasting- it just happens. We had a bumper crop of watermelon, cantelope and honeydew, grapes, apples etc. The birds and friends are still eating well. I concentrate on tomatoes and peppers like you folks. Zucchini etc. We still enjoyed the garden harvest! I had my bloodwork done just last week, as my doc told me she sees folks levels go up. My bloodwork was exactly the same as it has been my whole life- normal. I'm 49. Thanks for the kick in the pants ;) it worked.
Congratulations to you both! I changed to ketovore a few years ago and dropped from 235 to 185. Also, the sleap apnea went away. Pre diabetes went away. All of those little skin tags and bumps we get as we age are gone. Toenail fungus went away. I no longer crash at 3:00 in the afternoon. Never feel hungry. It's been amazing. My cholesterol is a tick high, but nobody in my family has ever died of anything cholesterol related. Diabetes and dementia has killed everyone in my family that any of us can remember.
@paulfay357 get a red rice yeast pills 600mg at health store (its a natural herbs)..take for 1-2 s months... 1pill before go to bed..your cholesterol problem will be gone. good luck!
Congratulations on your health results , so happy you found keto. I've been carnivore for 6 years, healing severe gut issues and joint pain. I was able to lower my thyroid meds and come of antidepressants, allergy meds.
I've always said since my Nurses training in 1972 that most human ills could be traced back to what people eat. Science is proving me right. Congratulations you two!
I am not into Keto as I eat everything but in moderation. The two of you gave a great explanation of your new lifestyle. I do bloodwork twice a year and I can tell you both that your lab results were exceptional good.
I started Keto 8 months ago. My BMI was 42. I need hip replacement & my BMI must be under 40. My weight is down from 247 to 199. I'm 69 yrs old. Keto works.
I started Intermittent fasting 8 months ago as a pre-diabetic. I’ve lost 55lbs and my A1C has gone from 6.5 to 4.2. I’m not following a strictly keto diet but eating low carb seems to be a natural progression when living a fasting lifestyle. I’m still learning new things every day but it has been life changing for me. I’m 49 years old and I don’t remember ever feeling this good. 😊
I've been the keto lifestyle for 4 years and I'm the healthiest I've been my whole life. I include intermittent fasting. Several factors for changing were family history of heart, diabetes, cancer and Alzheimer's.
Very well explained-good for all people, not just those homesteading! I have stopped sugar 10 yrs ago and went to Organic Stevia 100%. I cut carbs a lot and lost total of 50lbs. A1C dropped to normal fro being high 3 yrs ago! Keep going!😊😊
You guys are awesome and I have been watching for years! It has came full circle for me having watched you guys for 3 - 4 years and just this past January starting my journey down the keto/carnivore rabbit hole. I am sure you have saw him, but if not, find Dr Ken Berry! There are many others but Dr Berry has already answered any questions you may have. Stay strong and keep the faith. God Bless.

Would
you please let me know what Carb Counting App you were using. I can't seem
to find it in the Description section. Thanking you in advance.
P.S. -- The both of you should do blood work NOT saliva test to see what
number your APO-E-Gene is. The number 2 means you "need to eat fats" to
avoid certain illnesses that lead to death and the number 4 means that you
will get different illnesses if you eat fats of any kind, which also lead to
death. Then there is the #3, which means that you have to eat a Low Fat
diet. Then there are sub categories, ie: 2/3 or 3/4.
Your 'link' for Air2Ground Farm doesn't work. Just thought I'd let you know.
That's fantastic. Keep it up🎉
great job!!!
Awesome! Praise God! Keep up the good work!
Stay with it man, it only gets better.
Way to go! I have been carnivore for health for 6 weeks. My bp was averaging 155-185 over 84-90. Today it was 135/80!
Insulin resistance and inflammation is the most important reason to eat keto/carnivore. It has reversed my Type 2 diabetes, reversed hypertension (high blood pressure), reversed depression, reversed joint pain and on and on and on……. and off multiple medications. We are on the right track. ❤❤❤❤
Same here!!!
Yes!!!!
Me too.
Congratulations. I started Keto Jan 2018. When you eat junk no one says a thing, but eat Keto and they warn you you are gonna die! 😏
Lol that is so true!
Depending on your health, you could.
lol so true😂

@NotJustBBQLLC bs. People with CKD can't do it, and people can have it without knowing it. Type 1 diabetics shouldn't do it either. It's too much protein for them.
I heard Mikhaila Peterson say "nothing taste as good as being healthy feels". And I could not agree more. Good job guys!
I would live that! Especially breakfast, that's always a challenge for me.
@@Luna_StarFerybacon, eggs, meat, fat, avocados, leftovers - or skip it and start eating at lunch. I now often eat hamburger or steak and eggs at first meal of the day. Yummy!

Yes!! I know what I enjoy on keto but I would love to see your dishes😊
One of my faves too. I would also be interested in above suggestions. What do meals look like?
Cholesterol is good for you. We've been lied to for many, many years. I've been eating this way for over 7 years, and I'll never go back to eating carbs and feeling like absolute garbage.
Correct.
Both on YT
Thank you for sharing!
Is this from keto or a different diet.

I lost 112 pounds on keto 2 years ago and it is amazing how all my health problems went completely away. It literally saved my life.
Woohoo!!!! Congrats! It’s fantastic isn’t it!?
You lost a person, and saved yours. Congrats.

Congratulations!
That’s awesome!
Funny. My doctor sadly no longer looks healthy. She did 2 years ago.
Removing factory oils is important to removing that inflammation. I react to those oils quickly and my inflammation and pain returns within 20 minutes and tends to last 3 days at least. I’m learning a lot by listening to my body.
I have diabetes, arthritis and some skin issues. I will have to look into this.
WOW. good for you!
Dr Boz is awesome! I watch her and Dr Mindy Pelz. I also like Dr Berg.
This diet really works for increased health.
long term ketosis will harm your kidneys, everything promoted by drs or tv will eventually bite u in the @$$
i prefer 2mad. you have achy joints- do you eat oxalates? Almonds, Spinach, Soy, Rhubarb? Look up a list and limit or avoid the top offenders. Could be that and not permanent arthritis. Things are not always what we think.
I started ketovore March of this year and I’m 8 months in and down 49 lbs. feeling so great! Thankful to the Lord for this way of eating. ❤️God bless!
Congratulations!
I agree!! I haven’t had fiber in almost a year! Im good😊
The man who invented the ADKINS DIET, diet from a heart attack!

Please note, the “normals” for some of these labs is actually not physiologically correct, especially LDL, which is falling out of favor as a marker. Heart attack, stroke, and diabetes always start with consistently high carbohydrate loads.
Socrates: Let food be your medicine.
I haven’t caught any of your videos for a while… You two look awesome. The best motivation is progress!!
As Barbara O’Neil says, “genetics load the g*n, lifestyle pulls the trigger.”
I am getting to a more keto lifestyle too! Kudos!
I am gonna remember that saying,
@@johnr3603 Barbara O’Neill is amazing!
Very encouraging! Thanks for sharing! I was diagnosed with prediabetes and told to go on a low carb diet. After a few months, I've lost 18 pounds and have more energy and less pain and have reversed my prediabetes. It works!
WELL DONE.......................WELL SAID................KEEP IT UP SPRED THE WORD..................
Keto has been a game changer for me . I could never loose weight , i felt tired all the time , brain fog , ect. I started keto--- I lost weight , the brain fog went away , i didnt feel tired anymore. My blood work was excellent. Keto cycling for 3 years. I had gallbladder removed along time ago. Everyone told me I couldnt do keto, but guess what, i havent had any problems with my liver at all. Keto for life for me too!
One of your best video's I have watched! I am sooooooo happy for you both. There is a massive amount of material you two can post on this. A whole new area of communication and video's
👏👏👏👍👍🎉🎉GREAT JOB GUYS!!! We did keto years ago and had great success! We each lost around 30lbs. We gained it all back after going off when we were in the middle of transitioning to homesteading. This has really encouraged us to go back to this way of life. Thank you!
I am 75 year old female, have been keto-vore for 2 years. Off Metformin and only take a lose dose of blood pressure meds. (years of Type 2 has done some damage to kidneys) I lost 70 lbs and feel great. Have also had thyroidectomy for thyroiditis and splenectomy. This way of eating keeps my blood sugars low and auto immune process unreactive. I do not eat foods with seed oils and gluten. Time restricted eating too. Dr. Jason Fung and Ben Bikman and the 2 best resources to start with. My A1c was 5.8 last week. Congratulations
Good for you. I know you are speaking the truth.
This is all amazing news! It's so sad that people haven't realized yet how bad the Standard American Diet is for you. I was strict clean Keto for 3 months and lost 15 lbs, then slipped and have gained almost all of it back. You've inspired me to get back on it! ❤️❤️❤️
Carnivore is a lot easier. Keto tends to make life complicated. Dr. Chaffee wrote a book, Plants Are Trying to Kill You.
@@RedgogreyLOL that's funny. Our son constantly says mom plants are trying to kill you, eat more meat. LOL
Don't give up! You can do it.😊
@@georgeingridirwin6180 for the first time in my life I am able to tan. Pasty white boy and all I have ever done my whole life is burn, burn and then blister. I went out after 28 days on carnivore and tanned without any pain. It was the craziest thing. 50 years old and never that a tanned chest. Eating plants, carbs and sugar calcifies your pineal gland.
Look up George Wiseman on youtube. He created a machine called the Aqua Cure machine that produces the ez gel. I was using the machine first for the last 2 years and discovered that carnivore lifestyle is similar in the health benefits. It's seriously crazy!! I highly suggest research Gerald Pollack and George Wiseman.
It is soooooo awesome to see how many of your subscribers are keto/carnivore! It is a lifestyle for me and my family for life! 5 yrs in and still loving every bit of it!
Funny! I noticed you 2 looking better and thought to myself, “i bet they are doing Keto”.. I went Carnivore in Jan 2023… life changing! I initially thought I’d try this [seemingly insane lifestyle] for only 30 days, uh yeah, here we are 11 months later and I’m still Carnivore! ALL KINDS OF IMPROVEMENTS! List so long you’d think I was lying. Great job you two!
Ditto.
I started in mid-Jan. 2023. Never felt better

Keto or,Carnivore? [just curious]
Congratulations!
@@groundhog141 Congratulations!
Congratulations! I have been KETO 11yrs and love it! I still eat fruit, but only in season, and only from my own garden.
It is so great that you support each other in your healthy choices.
This was so encouraging! My husband and I started this lifestyle and are feeling better. Sarah, would you consider doing a video preparing a Keto meal? I struggle with how much (grams) to make. May God continue to bless all you do! ❤
Congratulations on the awesome report! The false information that is out there about Keto/Carnivore is overwhelming; if everyone would think for just a moment, they would rather push drugs and pills on us instead of us "eating" ourselves healthy! Keep up the great work!!
Thanks for sharing your blood panel results with us. Though at 74 and having had a heart attack 8 years ago, I have reversed my heart disease within 2 years with the guidance of Drs. Esselstyn, Cornish and Goldhammer. The process mainly excluded fats of all kinds. Congratulations to you both, finding and maintaining healthy eating habits takes constant vigilance and I wish you great success. 🍎
Hey there
Awesome for you guys congratulations
I never worry about other people say about something I’m going to do as I have found in my 70 years of life they don’t know what they’re talking about. I have found the doom and gloom crowd have done no research, and for whatever reason they want to discourage a person from doing something to improve/change themselves. So, congratulations for what you’re doing
I did Keto for 4 years and never felt better in my life! I lost 90# and kept it off and then I allowed sugar and carbs back in and gained back 100# 🙁 people just don’t realize how much we’ve been lied to.
that's where i'm at lost a bunch of weight over about 2 years then had some losses in the family and started eating the standard american diet again and gained all the weight back over another couple of years trying to get back on the train again and you can do it too
👏🏾
What veggies do you eat? I’m interested.
Leafy greens, cabbage, kale (cruciferous) zukes, cukes, spinach, string beans--it all depends on how many carbs you want to use that way. I, personally, love sweet potatoes, so I will use my carbs for them. Onions tend to have a lot of carbs, and I can pass on them with most dishes.@@angelataylor2049
@@angelataylor2049I hate salads, but i found an exotic chop suey which is a large chopped veggies that I love and I eat coleslaw mix, among eating stir fry veggies all the time. I do enjoy making onion jelly often for my burgers and steaks.
I have been watching your channel for a long time and I have nothing but respect for both of you and this is such good news. I can tell you that my husband and I went just just low carb in 2015 and we lost some weight, but the most wonderful thing that happened is that we never had indigestion ever again. To this day no more indigestion and I turned 80 in May. In my opinion the people who have been worried about you would do better if they follow your channel. Happy Thanksgiving

Way to go. Congratulations on your blood work. Thank you for sharing.
Hey there
I am with you.
Keto and carnivore are fine. Worry less about weight charts because everyone has different bone structure and muscle mass. The numbers 👏❤❤❤
I'm so glad this life style/diet worked so well for you. Sincerely Amen Acres homestead.
The Ketogenic way of eating is wonderful for your health.
Hey there
I'm so very happy for you both,,,Happy Thanksgiving to you and your beautiful family.
Y'all look incredibly healthy. The ketogenic way to eating is so incredibly healthy. Keep up the great work!
Hey there how are you doing today
Thanks so much for the sharing this experience.
Yay congratulations
Thank you for sharing your story! I started this way of eating in March. At 52, I feel better than ever. I lost 20 pounds and still need to lose, but I feel great. I also do IF, between noon and 6 pm. It's so great to watch a channel that supports my woe.
Hey there how are you doing today
What a great explanation. I loved the way you talked about why you did it and what that lifestyle of eating has done for you. And to put all those "naysayers" who probably hadn't done one bit of research to bed. Honest and straight forward. Loved it.
Hey Connie..how are you doing today??
Congrats on finding the eating lifestyle that works best for you! It's always gratifying to find a way to FEEL better in general. Looking better is just a nice bonus to doing what's best for you. You're absolutely right about controlling and getting rid of inflammation. As we age, it gets even more important to know how to negate it.
Hey there how are you doing today
Happy Thanksgiving to yall from our farm to yours
My obgyn, suggested I start keto, I was 45, premenopausal. It’s hard for me to keep my clean eating, as I’m the only one. I really do feel my best on clean keto! Congratulations!
This was so encouraging. I have been reading all the testimonies in the comments and they just confirm to me that our food is killing us slowly. So many IBS and pain suffers. We are among them. Thank you for the follow up. So encouraging. Now I have some work to do! Tired of feeling this way.
Oh, the knees ... how I can relate.
True! I had pizza with my grandson last time, and I was still hungry!!! It was crazy. Plus, the gas! I think next time, I 'll just get him something.
Hey there how are you doing today
that's totally awesome… Best thing you can ever do.
Congrats! I have been ketovore for 6 months. Down 35 lbs. and my blood work improved to normal range as well.
1pill before go to bed..your cholesterol problem will be gone. good luck!
Hey how are you doing today
Congratulations!
Congrats on Keto. I am type 2 diabetic and I feel it has helped me greatly. I will stay on this diet forever.
You are fortunate that both of you started the journey together. It makes it so much easier.
Good for you..we have been ketovore for a few years.. diabetes gone, weight gone, cholesterol low, all our numbers perfect..😊
Hello
God Bless.
