That meal looks amazing! Never used the cornstarch with milk before, but that's some of the best looking gravy..... so I learned something new from you once again!
I cooked a chuck roast today. I ate rice and gravy with it today. Tuesday, I will add potatoes, carrots, and onion in it, make some cornbread. I cook my roast for 2 days, LOL LOL. I sear it on Friday, and bake it in the oven. Saturday, I put it in my crockpot and cook it all day. Sunday, I take a little broth out and make just a little gravy for my rice, and Tuesday, I will add the vegetables so it will be a different meal. I know, I cook strange. LOL It is hard to cook for just me.
I absolutely love pot roast and veggies! I cook mine in a crockpot for several hours on the low setting. Thanks for the recipe Tammy! Your glasses looks pretty.
This was our Sunday dinner growing up and we loved it, in the evening we had hot roast beef sandwiches with horseradish while we sat at our TV trays and watched things like Ed Sullivan and Bonanza, great food and great memories.
Looks sooo good! Although this is not how my Mom made roast. I'd give anything to have a Sunday roast supper with my Mom again. She passed away May 2020. This just reminded me of her. Thank you for sharing. Mike
I ALWAYS needed to know how to make a really good traditional pot roast by a really good traditional cook!!! I’m feeling really happy right now!!! I can do a good brisket, but never learned this one... and there’s a million recipes out for pot roast!! My gut tells me? Learn THIS one!!🤗❣️🌸🌼♥️
🙋🏼♀️Hi Sweet Tammy, I just love watching you cook, it reminds me so much of my 😇Mama's cooking! Even though I cook like my Mama also, I've learned so many things from you! I am so thankful that Leslie from "The Farming Pastors Wife" sent me over to you awhile back! That surely was a blessing & I love your Bible studies on Real Southern Women. Thank you for You & Chris sharing your 🙏God given talents with everyone!! 🙏God Bless You, Chris, May & Amy (& all your precious fur babies🐶😼) Loves ya, Pat W. 🌺🌴
Tammy I honestly learn something new every time I watch you cook. I never thought of using milk to thicken the gravy with the corn starch. I do use corn starch to thickening .I usually use cold water or cold left over broth from the can or carton. That is the best looking dinner. Mmmmm...mmm. Thank you for having a channel to teach ❤️🥰
Oh, Tammy! That looks sooo delicious 💕💕💕! I like that you explain about different cooking pots! I have never had any of the different ones you talk about and I learn a lot, even though I am a lot older than you 🤣😂
lots of love, tammy....you are the best....you cook just like i do...when you mentioned that you don't use the little mutant baby carrots because they are not as good, i said, ''HELL YEAH'' someone else noticed what i've known for years....no baby carrots on my menu either...
Pot roast is my comfort food! After our plates were done my mother and I would have "gravy bread"! Better then any dessert. Biscuits would be even better. So yum!
Everything you cook looks so good. Do you can? I love watching you and being a southern girl myself I appreciate your southerners. Also enjoy your southern woman channel
Hey Tammy and Chris ♡♡♡ What A Yummy Delicious Meal ♡♡♡ I could almost taste that biscuit with the roast gravy. Hey Tammy. Watching you render the fat for the roast reminds me so much of my daddy. He always asked the butcher for extra fat to use in the rump roast he or Mother cooked. It makes all the difference in the world in the taste of the roast. Today the rump cut is generally a lot more expensive than chuck and buying extra fat is not diet friendly. But boy I’d sure like to have another meal like that! Your mom cooked like my mother and we’re from North Carolina. I enjoy watching you cook so much!
My Mom used to bake her roast in the oven but I’m not sure of time or temperature, she passed away before I could find out. I sure would love to have it again!
Loved this recipe, Tammy! I don’t know why people still care about MSG though. It’s completely natural, the “headaches” people claim to get from it have been debunked, and Chick-fil-A uses it in all their food and no one complains about them. But oh well, more flavor for me! :P
Because some of us are highly allergic to it. If I have any msg, my blood pressure skyrockets, I have fever and trouble breathing. I have had to go to the hospital a few times due stroke risk. You are clueless.
Tom Tillman you are lying out your teeth. MSG is in almost every food. If you have ever eaten a tomato, you’ve had a ton of MSG. You are the clueless one. Saying you are allergic to MSG is like saying you are allergic to water or salt.
Tammy, this is how my Mother cooked her roast. After her roast was done, she’d put some flour in a little jar and add a little water and add that to her juices to thicken. It sure was delicious. She always made the best gravies. This was usually a Sunday lunch meal after Church. Thanks for sharing.🌹
This may sound strange I am in a wheelchair and these knives make cooking so much easier they're comfortable and very sharp helps my shoulders slowly adding to my collection. only knife I use
I have 7 Rada knives of all different shapes and sizes. 2 of them were inherited from my Grandmother. I even had the opportunity to buy a Rada knife sharpener and it works so good!
The difference between this recipe and my mom's is my mom added a couple of quartered onions and a couple of celery sticks. But both sound great to me.
Your pot roast looks so good, my family didn’t make it quite that way, we came from WV, so not so far south. I love your plates with the scripture verse on them.
Looks Delicious.... 😋...Growing up this was our Sunday dinner after Church...My MaMaw n Momma always made biscuits to go with the roast... Great tip about Not seasoning with meat in vegetables makes them last a bit longer n the fridge...👍
Yes, I love my Rada knives too. Don't use anything else. I started using them many years ago when our church ladies sold them as fundraiser. I like the one piece construction cause lots of knives after much use get loose. Definitely worth the money. My new set came with the paring knife & the peeler. 😊
Bumped into your channel and I love it !! Everything u make looks mouth watering and super yummie...My boyfriend is a country boy and a farmer out in Texas and he will be pleasantly suprised when I make ur recipes for him

Surround them with Your Hedge of protection in Your most Holy NAME JESUS we pray!
I love my Rada knives, also I have their Granny fork and it is great. They also make some bread tie grippers which I love, you replace your bread ties with them. They really are the best knives.
Almost like a stew. I always make my roast in crock pot. I only cook chuck roast this way. I do make a round steak which I pound to tenderize, flour and cook on stove top forever and make a mushroom gravy. I love it. A yummy dinner, Tammy.
I usually make my pot roast in the oven or in the crock pot, I cook it too fast in the oven and too long in the crock pot. :-) My Mom could make the best pot roast, I miss that. Going to have to give it a try on the stove like this, looks good and made my mouth water. Thanks Tammy, tell Chris that was a heck of a fish. I need to get out of the house and do some Walleye and Cat fishing soon, it has felt like Spring the last couple days.
Tammy...that's the way my grandma did her roast. YOUR CHANNEL BRINGS BACK SO MANY GREAT CHILDHOOD MEMORIES!!! My grandma also did the same with her biscuits & the gravy. She always made a few extra biscuits & later on in the day I would grab one of the extra biscuits left over, still in the oven & still warm from the oven, stick my finger in the middle of it, fill it up with syrup & eat it...THE BEST SNACK OF THE DAY!!! Roll Tide Roll Much love from Mobile Alabama
Tammy, you made me so hungry now. I have to go out later today and you know I’m gonna get a roast and make this for supper. Thank you so much for this yummmy meal!! God bless you and Chris always

It looks fabulous
i use the bacon grease to brown my meat as well.....

That is one of my favorite types of rustic dinners with all that gravy and vegetables! I would probably make mine in my slow cooker.
It sure looks delicious. I love pot roast. Try using some Lipton's onion soup mix in your roast. It makes the best gravy.
Barbara add a can of cream of mushroom soup 😋
You don’t claim to be a chef, but certainly are knowledgeable and a great teacher
Expecting ice and snow here in atlanta tonight….and that pot roast looks delicious. Perfect for a cold night
Sunday dinner-after church-the greatest!!
Oh, Tammy! That looks sooo delicious 💕💕💕! I like that you explain about different cooking pots! I have never had any of the different ones you talk about and I learn a lot, even though I am a lot older than you 🤣😂

Wonderful Love from California.
Wow that pot roast brings back HUGE memories. My momma did the same thing and we would eat it with a piece of sliced white bread as the base. YUMMY!
lots of love, tammy....you are the best....you cook just like i do...when you mentioned that you don't use the little mutant baby carrots because they are not as good, i said, ''HELL YEAH'' someone else noticed what i've known for years....no baby carrots on my menu either...
I do this in a crockpot. Can't get much lower and slower than that.
Same here. Check us out on how we do it. 😍
You always make the best combination of meals. I watch these videos and then have to go cook all of the stuff myself LOL.
