Something is a little backwards from the usual scenario here...
Yeah, in BNHA there is not really a lot of power of friendship on the heroes' side, it's more prevalent on the villains' side.
Just so you know guys, Horikoshi (the mangaka) said that Tamaki is inspired in himself. He was a shy kid back at school. Cute couple, cute channel!!!

All of the new quirks in this episode, but especially Amajiki's versatility, just show why creativity is one of the greatest tools of an author. I'd say that a big part of the appeal of the show is how diverse and unique the quirks in this world are. The sheer creativity of the quirks we've seen so far in the show is just incredible, to even come up with half of them is so amazing.

MHA to me is a good example of the paradox of this type of media. By that I mean when you try to incorporate science or too much logic you inevitably have to break some logic to allow the story to function. I don't mean it in a bad way but it's an interesting thing in storycrafting you have to consider when it comes to world building. How far do you want the "logic" to go. It happens often in stuff like marvel or DC comics, or content where magic is treated more like science, etc.
For example a character like overhaul, does he not have the same constraints on his quirk as momo does? How does death work in this universe, why can he just reform a body and have them be completely alive. Is there a time limit? Back to momo's constraints does he not need to understand the matter of what he's forming? Or the guy who can just eat stuff without getting full, is it going into his body and disappearing or he's actually digesting it? How does that affect the rest of his metabolism, does eating anything provide him energy at all? What about nonedible materials?Why can mirio hold a gulp of air when he goes through something, wouldn't the oxygen leave his lungs once he activated the quirk?
Could momo or amajiki theoretically do the same thing as each other if they applied their quirks differently? In trying to explain in too much detail how something that isn't possible is possible, you will inevitably run into details you hadn't thought of. But it's a really good showing of writing ability to know when you can cut corners and leave details vague enough that contradictions aren't obvious or don't really affect the story you're trying to tell.
MHA seems to blend scientific reasoning with just cause logic but that's okay lol
One of my favorite things is that the two who voice Mirio and Amajiki are best friends in real life hehe
the friends don't eat friends line is so good, it just implies so much about how he operates
I could never pinpoint it. But I feel like there is a reference in the "friends dont eat friends" line that has to do with Suneater and Mirio being a symbolic sun.
@@Epik61 I mean there's a bit more to it than that, it implies he's possibly holding back to never eclipse mirio nor nejire, he's suneater but he can't possibly bring himself to eat the sun (or his other friend), like he knows he could surpass them and yet he doesn't out of respect/admiration/friendship/uncontrollable lust for mirio, whichever you want really

Like the villain who ate everything could have eaten the diamond guy to get through but he didn’t because they’re friends, which Tamaki used to his advantage.
Though I don’t think he holds back, I think he saw Mirio as something he could never be, but as he remembered that flashback he knew they were at the same level, neither of them was eating the other one, they helped each other and improved together.
Imagine if Suneater became a cannibal, he could probably become a quirk Stealer like All For One. Which will make his name kind of funny, because he sees his friend as the sun and always wants to be like him, so if he wants to become like him all he has to do is eat him 😂

Bubble Girl and Centepeder were actually designed by fans. My understanding is they were the winning submissions of a “design a hero” contest.
Bubble Girl can create bubbles made of any liquid, which could actually be incredibly dangerous and powerful. If she was a villain she could create lethal poison bubbles.

Manifest is hands downs in the top ten of best Quirks in the series, and probably one of the best superpowers in fiction, tbh.
There's just so much potential you could do with it, and unlike Mirio's Permeation, it doesn't seem that hard to use.
Edit: Also, "Chimera Kraken" has gotta to one of the COOLEST Ultimate Moves in the series, just by name alone.

Fun fact: like a lot of names in MHA, Amajiki's name is a pun that gets lost in translation. It's written as 天喰, the kanji of which are 'heaven' and 'eat:' hence, Suneater.

Pretty sure you wouldn't need the termite bit at all. Tamaki seems to be able to digest anything he eats.

2:40 I had a period when this first come out where I was AGGRESSIVELY shipping Tamaki and Mirio. They have such a sweet dynamic.
I mean absolutely valid. They have the healthiest childhood friends to lovers arc possible. And it’s also very funny because either middle school Mirio knew exactly what he was doing, or he was so innocent when he gave tamaki the hero name Suneater, knowing tamaki’s nickname for him was the sun. Like… the implications are hilarious

Interesting fact: Tamaki's backstory is based on a real Horikoshi's experience. I guess In one of the interview he was asked if there in manga situations which based on his real experience and he said it was two moments: Deku playing with his mom (he also said he was crying while drawing this scene) and Tamaki's story, cause he was supposed to go in the middle school in another city area where people in his class already knew each other and had a group, so nobody didn't speak to him until one guy said 'you are not a bad person at all'.
I think many characters (like Deku, which is really a lot of mangaka himself, Tamaki, Aizawa (from what i remember)) are very similar to their creator

Man, I forgot about these three criminals Tamaki fights here. That Larceny quirk is so freaking cool.
I love Amajiki. And I love his hero name being Sun Eater, Because anything he eats becomes a part of him, and he said to Kirishima "You're just like Mirio, you both shine so brightly, like the sun." a couple of episodes ago, He wants to be as positive and bright like both Mirio and Kirishima, so he made his name Sun Eater because he wants the 'sun' to be a part of him, he wants to shine like Mirio, and I think that's super cute. They have such a wholesome relationship and I love it.
Sun Eater made me think "i eat everything under the sun" xD

Bubble Girl can make the bubbles smell like anything she has smelt before so there it is some variance at least, and i dont know if someone has said it but both bubble girl and centipede were based on the designs of fans that won a contest and the winners get to have their characters in the manga

This epsidoes opening always make sme think of Lemellion back in the hero trials. "Does this mean . . . I can keep sparkling for a little longer?"

And the Overhaul raid is going full force. And we get an Amajiki episode! I don’t know if he’s the most popular of the Big 3 overall, but based on those I’ve talked to he is. So I imagine everyone wants to hype up their adorable shy guy.
The Yakuza set themselves in waves to whittle down the numbers of the heroes and police as they try to execute their rescue. They want you as exhausted as possible when you reach their strongest members and each have very specific purposes to make it so. 1st they just throw all the regular henchman basically all at once to swarm the riot squad, main police force, and non specialty heroes, and got their huge muscle forcing back the largest heroes both in size and hitting like Ryukyu, Nejire, and Uraraka to deal with him. (Sorry I’m not giving Tsu much credit, but giant muscles like the one Ryukyu picked a fight with she’s more an accuracy support for Uraraka and considering Uraraka’s other power facets, it’s not 100% on Tsu to provide that cover)
The next wave is Mimic. His role is to turn you around as many times as he can while he’s toasted. And he intentionally throws you into every wave he can between him and Overhaul. And he only lets Mirio go because he’s not a power type or even a proper speedster. So the waves he’s short cutting to aren’t actually in any danger as far as he can tell. Also goes to show how good Lemillion is to be THAT good at running on unstable footing as if it were a straight corridor. And while Kirishima and Deku can easily make quick work of SEVERAL FEET OF STEEL PLATED CONCRETE WALLS, (Kirishima WITHOUT maximum power and Deku at only 8% is just RIDICULOUS when you think about what their damaging so effortlessly.) it does slow them down and waste their energy. And that’s ALL Mimic wants.
So Mimic has the next trick up his sleeve as well. The next wave of Overhaul’s “8 bullets of the Hassakai” and that’s the status and disarming crew. Get rid of their equipment, get rid of their firearms, (Overhaul could just be put down by a simple firearm by the way so fair thing to take off the board asap) and just proceed to scare them into retreat or beat them…or feed on them. This setup could be a huge problem for the entire squad that saw them and could depower them, AND make them lose all their personal equips heroes have on hand like Eraser’s goggles. So they leave Amajiki to handle all of them at once.
It’s not that Amajiki has a huge advantage on these 3 villains. In fact he’s at a disadvantage to all 3 of them AND knows it. But he’s committed to this decision to both prove himself, practice himself, and insure everyone gets going to Eri with as little resistance as he can manage to backup Mirio specifically. Rocklock, Aizawa, AND Fat Gum all wanted to keep the kids from doing any major fighting but Fat Gum knows he wouldn’t step up unless his mind was made up too and calls everyone off. And just because Amajiki has anxiety and depression under no means takes away his ability to perform. (He might struggle a bit more with an audience in one of the street shows) Aizawa does still take the time to knock out the one that is easily the most trouble for him just to be safe on the way out. But as Amajiki says, Eraserhead is easily the most helpful with big bosses and keeping them from using the most dangerous quirks they got. So a sacrifice has to be made to be able to do more. In this case it’s Amajiki’s backup.
The 3 villains are all brainwashed in their own right not realizing there’s paths to recovery because Overhaul came in at their lowest to bring them up so they would be grateful as his tools. Society might frown on their circumstances but that doesn’t mean they can’t recover in the right circumstances. But they gave up looking for anything because they have Overhaul and their gratitude and loyalty is all they need. Machiavellian’s like Overhaul don’t just use their manipulation on everyone but target the weak willed or crack the wills of those around them to maintain control. And now all the villains have left is each other. But they can have that in places where they DON’T follow freaks that are torturing children for just monetary gain and personal influences. And Amajiki respects that they stand by each other.
But none of that prevents Amajiki from following through on the belief he’s been given by Mirio and others. He never thought he could be on the stage but now has one of the most versatile quirks in the show. He can pick and choose any trait of any animal he has consumed for the day and manifest it on his body in any way he chooses. Throwing in combinations and his ultimate moves are all the Greek myth creatures and has a body with nearly limitless possibilities. And considering he’s felt like there’s no way forward being able to invent that way no matter the disadvantage is nothing short of spectacular to watch. This is what Fat Gum sees RIGHT through his fears and concerns. I’d love to see him be something like a GRIFFIN (half eagle half lion) but certain possibilities seem a little…illegal. He has to watch what foods and animals are legal to access. And some of them can feel…not accessible. (Granted after eating Gator, I’ve just realized people will look for foods even with animals they shouldn’t be ANYWHERE NEAR) I’d say his only downside is power itself. Circumstances that would lead him to be a truly heavy hitter are extremely rare and could be rather unwieldy and it makes things dependent on his surroundings. But he can overcome his MANY disadvantages in most circumstances on pure versatility.
Next time, the heroes move onto the next wave that the Yakuza has prepped for them. Mimic is still active, and there’s still 4 or 5 major henchmen remaining as obstacles before Overhaul himself.
So two other unknown heroes are part of the raid. The one in all black is known as Kesagiri Man, based on an old design hori used in his previous work. His name literally means a diagonal sword strike and from what we see his quirk allows him to swing his arms like a sword. Now his arm isnt literally a sword but has the properties of one, which actually reminds me of the quirk of a police officer that fatgum worked with in a raid in vigilantes named Kaniko. She could cut through anything while emulating the motion of scissors such as with her fingers or her legs as long as it can fit the space between them. This could easily cut through steel.
The other hero we see is Mr. Brave with his quirk Hair Raiser. He can basically pluck out his hard and make hardened constructs with them.
Ok so, another fact about eraserhead in vigilantes. He actually has connections to drug dealers. Weirdly enough also good acquaintances. The Hotta Brothers were drug dealers, although they dont sell the illegal version of Trigger filled with other stimulants. Its mostly for pharmaceutical use but they dont have a license so still a bit illegal. They actually own a cafe with some reformed victims of illegal Trigger as staff and eraser actually enjoys their coffee. They avoided being arrested and became his associates/informants and have even helped him fight off some villain. Since eraser didnt really have his own agency, that cafe was more or less his hideout sometimes. They actually have seat just for him there before going to teach in UA
@@tobofu5978 not going to lie, the Aizawa facts don’t surprise me at all. He DEFINITELY has friends that hook him up with good weed. And it’s now my headcanon that Aizawa was toasted when he 1st met Ms Joke and he said something unironically hilarious and out of pocket making it her life commitment to replicate that or have him be that way normally. Because that just sounds like how she would latch onto someone like him.
@@Kaempfdog weed? No. Eraser was way too focused being a villain bounty hunter. Heavy amounts of pain meds and red bull because he cant be bothered to go to a hospital and take a break is more likely. He was really focused on fighting villains. There's a what if illustration of if he never went to teach in UA. He's wearing a more armor padded costume and wielding a knife. I'm sure going to that cafe even for hero work were the few times I've seen him actually rest in that series. In addition, he has been in raids with FatGum, even doing some undercover work.
@@tobofu5978 oh Aizawa is catching up on sleep that he’s been missing for like a decade. That’s why he has a sleeping bag always on hand. I have no doubts on that. Aizawa has always been one of the strongest heroes because he’s so focused on going after big operators. Ms. Joke just had to have found SOMETHING to give her hope he does have a sense of humor. Because she is DEVOTED.
Being able to manifest the crystals after eating them just elevates his quirk to a whole new level
Essentially turning him into Rogue, if he starts eating hair from everyone

It was interesting when Montana was describing the fear of tamaki losing mirio bc of how "much cooler mirio is" which obviously isn't true but I don't think they pointed out that she described exactly what happened to deku and bakugo. The way I see it is Tamaki and Mirio are exactly what deku and bakugo could have been.
Question for everyone, if you had Amajiki's quirk, what combo of attributes would you have based on what you eat the most regularly? I would probably have cow/bull, chicken, and various plants. It would be sick though if that "stat" about swallowing spiders in your sleep was true and you'd wake up as spider man😂

I'm not judging, I used to playfully punch my friends all the time, until they decided to have an intervention. Haha. As long as Kenny is ok with it, everything is fine. My question of Suneater's powers is one, if it is ANYTHING that he eats or only certain qualifications and if it IS anything, how much of it and in what form does it have to be? Cause in theory, could you in theory grind up something up and put it in food or a smoothie or something in a non-lethal amount and get that power. Or like, there are foods with gold leaf in it. Would that qualify to have the powers of gold or is it not enough/right form?

One of my only annoyances with my hero is that Mirio has a costume but Hagakure doesn’t. If they can make costumes out of hero’s hair that activate on command why does she have to work nude or only with boots and gloves. It bugs me.
Gave it some thought, her having invisible clothes made from her hair, or rather, clothes that reflect light like her skin and hair, would be good for her in the winter, though, I think it could be that she doesn't have gear made off her hair, so the people she works with can tell where she is while clothes don't get in the way of her quirk, or, she never thought about it herself since suits's bases are summited by the atufent themselves, or, its fanservice
@@arielmartinez94 it’s definitely at least half fan service. And well, I know the designs were in universe submitted by the students they are sent to professional costume and support teams who should probably have brought up invisible clothing as an option. Though, perhaps the hair clothing is a relatively new technique and not something that the agency she ended up with had access to yet I don’t know
@@Oiyuki mirio says he has been working with Nighteye for like a year now, so he probably has the suit either since then, or since he started school, meaning it's unclear if he got the hair suit from the school when he started studying at UA, if he got that suit through Nighteye's agency got it made for him, or somewhere in-between
