This is so helpful to reframe reality as it is during setbacks, not as resignation / helplessness / scorched earth, but a surrendering that yes, feeling down is OK, and we can live to fight for another day. Thank you Jack!
"Presence. Being engaged in the action that is most important to your heart." - Jack Butler (Sic/paraphrase) "Easy to be busy but w/o being rooted in what we most care about."- more Jack Butler wisdomcraft. I've gotten so disconnected from myself, so overwhelmed, that I haven't been present or truly supportive of people I'm working with. THAT realization is sobering and awakening from this stupor/trance I've been in. Thank you, Jack, for holding up the lamp on the path.
Thank you for being human, authentic, and complex. Your message has heart and soul. I have experienced all states of being that you described here. I am showing up in my life as a warrior ready to move forward.
Always so impressed with how articulate you are on camera. Topic resonates. Sometimes the existential thoughts are what make me feel dissatisfied with life...that I am not even the one suffering, but knowing others do - facing that *reality* - is what brings me down. What right do I have to be joyful? Being aware too much is my main issue. Yes, reframing, and all that, but platitudes aren't convincing to my brain. It knows better. Or at least that's where I am.
Thanks for sharing that. One thing in case it's helpful is that we are all suffering, yes differently and yes not equally but when I have spent time in places which objectively have low quality-of-life indices, I am struck by their joy too. So maybe we can face our own suffering, and do what we can to help others'?
Synchronicity, with the butterfly appearing on cue! I loved your joy, laughter, and your essence, in that moment! It’s like a child and their uninhibited delight. My favorite way to witness humans!
I find being by my self... is so powerful, staying quiet, learning ourself is the benefit...I love being by myself I have my answers, no one else...❤ Make it all distant Thunder...
Your words of sympathy at the start always come across sincere - I really appreciate that you are careful with this so that it doesn't become a hollow phrase. Also appreciate sharing personal experience (it doesn't even have to be detailed - just hearing an honest "I dealt with that, too" is nice to hear). Thank you!
Thank you for this message. I am exactly in the period of time you are suggesting - everything that has been known died/disappeared, and I am alone with all new challenges. These words help me understand that what I am going through definitely has some purpose. :)
Right on time, and extremely helpful. Every single point in your video inspires me to be less hard on myself when life feels tough. Thank you, Jack. You're a blessing to many! 🙏🏻😊🌼
We humans are always in metamorphosis, in change if you will. Whether we accept or not accept it, we age, we experience and not always is that going to look pretty. I like the video touching on evolving. That we may have to force a change or path to be on the path needed in our journey of life. We don't know or have to know what that is- life reveals that. That's one message or theme of presence that you share that is definitely a really good uniqueness to how you teach, Jack. It's very helpful..
Hi Jack I really enjoy the direction of your news videos more about life in general than only relationship. All what you said made so clear for me the many times I went through this changing process in my life. I think I am at the end of a major one and finally deeply enjoy the butterfly I became. At the same time I feel that I am starting already another of these transformations. But I feel better equipped to go through it, thanks to your words as well. Love listening to you while the birds are singing. And love to see you laugh, it's clear it comes from your heart despite you going through a hard time, or at least this is my perception. I look forward to your new video. Ciao from London!
GREAT advice Jack & how amazing the 🦋showed up right when you were talking about it! 🥰Yes been struggling so long feeling alone but a long term family issue just got much better, almost a miracle, & it brought hope back. Hang in there all who read this--Keep Showing Up & Follow Your Heart 💌🙌🌷🌈⚕🤗💛
Just brilliant Jack. Best video and a great overview of how to manage oneself and an amazing insight that really resonated with me. Thank you so much 🙏x
EVERYONE . . . you truly must subscribe, get alerts, and go back through Jack's plethora of wisdom based content. Like and share with others. He truly is deserving of an enormous following. There is never a waste of your time and he covers SO much in every video, much more than just what ever is the video title.
This was exactly what I needed to hear. I’ve really been struggling the last couple months. I feel like stress has finally caught up to me and it’s gotten very dark. I feel broken. It’s frustrating cause I tried it all…counseling, medicine, meditation, yoga, diet, self help books, astrology, tarot, massage, chiropractic care, regular exercise, sagebrush….you know the list goes on. And having the people I confide in listing off things that I’ve tried just angers me. Ive been in a good place. I was in the best place of my life a few years ago but I just feel like I routinely attack the wrong people into my life. It’s like I want to be a certain type of person but I attract people that bring me right back down to my wounded core. I can’t escape.
I hear you and I can empathize with the frustration of trying all sorts of things and not getting traction. Have you ever been able to really stop / slow down / take a sabbatical?
Thank you, Jack! To say that this was a timely video and talk is a huge understatement. I needed to hear this today, so grateful. It is much appreciated! All the best! 💚🌿🌟
Happy this was needed. And yes! (Possibly assuming you have enough practise that it’s not an amplifier of the voices in your head - my first meditation forays over a decade ago were hard!)
i'm working on a theory atm of radical vulnerability. the world at large, the dating scene in general, western society really loves to tell us that to be vulnerable is to be weak. that if you're scared you should back away. and i don't think we learn and grow from that. moreover i don't think that's any way i want to live my life. so i'm trying something totally different. leaning into things that hurt or scare me. making objective judgments about what might cause serious damage or be detrimental to my goals, but also learning to be ok with discomfort, as one might do with a tattoo, or enjoying a spanking if you're kinky. the willingness to belong wholly to that which claims you. not in a detatched, zen sort of way where we are all one and everything is temporary, but in truly confronting darkness and pain and refusing to abandon yourself through it.
I think you are right that we need to upgrade our view of vulnerability. Imagine politics where people had the vulnerability to not have to know? And - I still have plenty to learn myself on this 🙏
Also...lately a sad realization hit me, that all of my qualities like empathy kindness, giving the benefit of the doubt, beeing trusting...turned out against me, made me an easy target to be taken advantage of etc.
I hear you. Don’t lose faith. They are great qualities. You may just be being invited to own your other qualities - discernment, strength, clarity. Eg, giving the benefit of the doubt meets owning your intuition

Glad it was a helpful reframe 🙌 Yes, distinguishing resignation and surrender is important and sometimes subtle work! 🙏😊
Also Jack was in his feminine when he got excited about seeing that butterfly....so much fun to see a man light up in nature.
ha! Deffo have a soft spot for the grace of butterflies
Lovely yes. I feel the same about butterflies. I see them in twos and say hi Mum hi Dad 🦋
