A fun little tidbit about Ghetsis's Hydregion: Its Frustration hits as hard as it possibly can, meaning that that thing hates Ghetsis with every fiber of its being, and considering its dex entries, the fact Ghetsis is still alive to do all this malarky in the first place on top of it still listening to him is a statement
I love the headcanons that Ghetsis lost his other arm (or at least had it rendered unusable, since it has appeared) through abusing the thing to force an early evolution.
There are two ways to train a dark type of pokemon: compassion and understanding; and beating it into submission until it would dare disobey. Ghetsis has evidently chosen the latter.
I loved when those little details added to the character. It's like with the rival in GSC, how his Golbat finally evolves when he comes around as a person at the end of the game.
Hydreigon hates Ghetsis with all of its being, yet still listens to his commands without fail. Hydreigon doesn't just hate Ghetsis. He's _scared to death of him._
@@LegengaryOakThe fitting irony that the face of a team in the previous game memed as "Pokemon PETA" would in the sequel be all but proven as a direct abuser of his own animals. Hydreigon basically being a fight ring pit bull...it's sad when you think about it.
I like to think Emile’s roasting was just Aiden’s internal monologue as he was pulling this thing apart like the relentless bully he is. 😂 It just fits with the character we’ve given this particular vaporeon; a rage-filled little guy who would probably pee on a god after slaying it.
The fact that somebody actually came VERY CLOSE to straight up murdering the protagonist in a Pokemon game is one of the most shocking moments in this franchise. I legit felt like my player was in actual danger compared to past games!
@@morphstarchangeling8024 If we count spin-off games too, there's also Ardos and Greevil in XD, who had intended to blow up Citadark Isle with the protag still on it
To this day Ghetsis is still one of the scariest villains in Pokémon. The man is a genuine sociopath and he mere presence is a blot of darkness on what is usually a bright and cheery world of adventure
Ghetsis has no redeeming features. His Hydreigon knows Frustration, and I'm fairly certain that he mistreats his Pokémon including using them as target practice for Kyurem. The best villain in the series, IMO.
He strikes me as more psychotic than anything. A sociopath is capable of functioning in normal society. Meanwhile, a psychopath is on the opposite side of that spectrum.
That scene with Ghetsis threatening to freeze the player with Kyurem is still one the most terrifying things I've ever seen in a video game! And that's taking his breakdown after his boss fight into consideration!
I honestly love that the fusion forms are ungodly hard to look at because it implies that man trying to force the reunification of the original dragon is inhumane and unnatural.
One of my favorite things about Kyurem’s design is how in its base form, its eyes are just pure yellow, and only when it is fused with one of the dragons do its eyes change.
Maybe the detail is suppose to be that base Kyruem’s eyes are blank because it was what was leftover from the original dragon; an empty husk if you will. It’s eyes then change because it is filled with the spirits of the truths or ideals it had lost.
Fun little fact: In the Japanese version of black and white 2, Ghetsis did not say «Kyurem, glaciate!» instead, in the Japanese version he says «Kyurem, impale them!» that’s much more terrifying and dark instead of him saying «Kyurem, glaciate!» He straight up wanted the MAIN PROTAGONIST DEAD ON THE SPOT!
ua-cam.com/video/A2wpq2yY7_I/v-deo.html Ghetsis: However, here is a present in respect of your making it here. You shall be frozen solid here and behold what becomes of Isshu (Unova)! Kyurem! Frozen World (Glaciate)! Yeah, no, Ghetsis never said that in Japanese. Don't spread the myth.
@@lilylopncoeven if changing in the localization, he had every intention to kill the main protagonist and freeze them and rule Unova. That is still dark regardless of the situation.
Its probably up there with a moment from the final boss of S/V *SPOILERS* Where AI Sada/Turo locks your Pokeballs and sends the other rideamon on you. You know, the one that was aggressive enough to kill the professor they were based on.
I absolutely love the White and Black Kyurem theme, it’s extremely underrated. It just sounds like pure terror and monstrosity. Another neat thing about it is how with headphones, the sound bounces back between ears in a really overwhelming way, which really sells it. This game is awesome.
It's a good thing to point out, considering they basically are monstrosities in this case, being the first pokemon fusions ever and synthetically being merged together would make a mess. Kinda like the Chimeras of MOTHER 3.
Probably old news at this point, but it’s still a cool/scary detail: Ghetsis’s Hydreigon has likely gone insane as well, considering that it has a *maximum power* Frustration attack.
You brought the real hero of Unova to the fight, and it paid off. "He's collecting gods to slay" is one of the coolest sentences I've ever heard, and it's earned.
"If I had a nickel for every time a youtuber ended up with a sexualized pokemon with a thirst for ichor, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened twice."
This part… this part… oh, this part. One of my favorite moments in all of Pokémon. Just when it looks like you’re done for… he returns. With a vengeance. And everything that unfolds after that is just mind blowing. This is where Pokémon truly peaked. It’s a moment I will never forget, and one of the biggest reasons why I truly love this franchise
I guess that he recorded the last two episodes in succession so he never read the comments, but it's hilarious watching him miss those items so many times
the freaking glaciate scene forever lives rent free in my head, a moment that truly makes you think how ridiculous it is that children are going on these adventures
White Kyurem has a stat total of 700 and resists Water. Vaporeon has a stat total of 525, was at a 5 level disadvantage, was unable to use it's STAB moves effectively, still came out on top.
Vaporeon is one of the most under appreciated tanks and damage dealers in all of Pokémon. A water type with that HP, access to Scald and Ice Beam, and enough special attack to deal great damage, is an insane combination. It’s my favorite Pokémon of all time
10:30 The asymmetry makes sense. White and Black Kyruem are merely two halves of the original dragon Pokemon that became Reshiram and Zekrom, leaving Kyruem behind as an empty shell. Both designs are pretty great in their own right.
This moment here is when Umbreon became one of my favorite Mons/Eeveelutions. He was the star of the show for this battle, Toxic killing Cofagrigus, Eelektross, and then lastly with Hydreigon from beyond the grave... Ghetsis' theme for this game is one of my favorite battle themes as well as Colress'. The way it cuts through the build up from BW into sounding immediately chaotic and deranged perfectly fits who he's become in this game. A truly terrifying villain, and a memorable one at that.
Something that stood out to me in that Kyruem battle was what N said, that he could still hear his friend inside the fused Pokemon. The idea of that is terrifying to me, for N to see this Pokemon (who accepted him and stuck with him, helping him even when his whole life turned upside down) get struck down and absorbed into this new being that's attacking them, and hearing it still call out to him to try and reassure him that they can still fix this. Sends shivers down my spine. Also I literally had tears in my eyes during the initial White-Kyruem bio oh my god. And the art along it just fit perfectly, poor White-Kyruem so sad that it's getting absolutely decimated by Emile XD. Well done job all around for this episode, the script, the editing, the gameplay, the art! Good work for everyone involved!
That’d be pretty cool. If you are looking for a playthrough like that, there is this UA-camr named BigKlingy who has done some Fire Emblem playthroughs already and has made character bios for them! He’s currently doing a playthrough of Fire Emblem Engage as well.
@@linhardtvonhevring7262 Why Miriel, exactly? From what I can tell the only characters considered "bad" in Awakening are Virion and Ricken (and Donnel, but I dispute that, I feel he's only bad when talking postgame), and even then it's hard to be truly terrible in Awakening. But then again, it's hard to get a consensus because there's not a lot of interest in Awakening character discussion outside of "Robin is OP" and "you need Frederick on Lunatic".
The effort put into this video is incredible. The duel Kyurem cutscene along with the awesome, and funny, artworks is amazing. On the subject of Ghetsis, I see him as a villain who never acknowledges his key flaw: pride. Because he never sees anyone as an equal it's easy for people to surprise him. In the first game he never thought the hero could awaken the other dragon and in this one he just assumed Kyurem couldn't lose. Those who don't learn from history truly are doomed to repeat it. Also, thank Arcues they nerfed his Hydragon's move pool. It was too good in the first game.
Let's not forget the best detail of the fight with Ghetsis: Hydreigon's Frustration is max power. And it's a move that gets stronger the less a Pokémon likes its trainer
Easily one of the best moments in Pokémon. It’s so satisfying to defeat Ghetsis no matter which game he’s in. 2:28 Honestly the player character must have been *frozen* in fear if they didn’t think to so much as dodge that attack 2:33 Sick edit 3:00 This right here. Is character development. 3:34 Sure thing, Gaslighter 4:23 I love how this darkly mirrors the Stones of Reshiram and Zekrom storing energy before releasing themselves from their seal 4:56 Pokémon need more action scenes like these 14:27 this is an absolutely sick remaster of Ghetsis’ old theme! I’m impressed! 16:53 Oh right. IG Kyurem kills the nice Hydreigon and proceeds to beat you to the inch of your life. 22:05 and this is why I love Flygon. Despite being outclassed by Garchomp in a almost every way, it’s still a good Pokémon to use. 23:17 and Ghetsis goes down again like the pitiful man he truly is. 25:41 Stockholm Syndrome much?
Pignati: I’ll never forgive you for what you’ve done! I’ll take you down right now! McFly: Let’s put an end to Team Plasma once and for all! Aidan: LET ME AT HIM! LET ME AT HIM!! Jade: I don’t care if it’s freezing cold-I’m gonna fight with all I have! Harmony: FOR THE PEOPLE AND POKEMON OF UNOVA… WE WILL DEFEAT YOU! Lasagna: I’ve been waiting a long time for this… Vengeance will be mine! (No but seriously, your own Pokémon shaking with rage in their Poké Balls at Ghetsis is one of the sickest story details that this franchise has ever done.)
He’s so bad that even in ultra sun and moon in the team rainbow rocket episode when genesis holds Lillie hostage your Pokémon in your poke balls shake with rage then too! I honestly loved that call back to this scene!
@@yamadora_artsDude, your art is amazing! Don't sell yourself short. I can't draw to save my life, so I have nothing but respect for artists like you.
@@yamadora_arts You're better than you think you are. Speaking as a fellow creative (a published author at that), it's the most natural thing in the world to want to downplay yourself. I struggle with that constantly. I always try to not be arrogant, but I think it's a worse crime to let your doubt win, which is all too often from my experience. Great artwork.
I honestly like how weird and uneven kyurem's black and white forms are since they're incomplete freaks of nature, trying to recreate the original dragon without a necessary piece.
Despite see it before in the let's play I wasn't expecting the editing to show both version's effects at once on screen. (the fire/electricity) Nice one. And to be fair, the character attacked in that other Kyurem scene was more that just a mere mortal.
He may not be a part of Team Plasma anymore, but N is still our king! Still one of, if not, the best character in Pokémon, and we’ve had a stellar cast since then
This part... I haven't played very much Black & White 2, but I know enough about this part. It's absolutely terrifying in the best way possible. Ghetsis' twisted monologue, his threat to LITERALLY FREEZE YOUR CHARACTER SOLID, the intimidation of the corresponding Kyurem fusion, and the very imposing and intense music to go along with its battle. Hands down one of my favorite Pokemon moments alongside the interaction between Cyrus and Sinnoh's three Legendaries.
It's worse. Those were ICE SPIKES surrounding your character. You weren't going to get frozen but rather impaled and then frozen like your character was a victim of a Mortal Kombat fatality.
That White Kyurem fakeout had me reeling for a sec, I love the way White Kyurem looks and prefer it over Black, thank goodness there was the serious part after that went into how RUTHLESSLY powerful it can be. Though really, both forms Kyurem gets are absolutely wild, insanely strong fusions with the other dragons, that is just amazing.
Dude your point at 25:45 is so spot on. There’s something unresolved in my past that has really affected me, and it’s not knowing what the truth is that messes with me more than anything. I feel understood. Thank you.
I remember beating this game the first day it came out with a buddy of mine when we went to pick it up at best buy at the midnight release at GameStop. Getting to Ghetsis felt like a fever dream and we ere rooting for each other in the end as we each attempting to take him on. Such great memories... I've loved this series so far and I must say the editing in order to show what both cutscenes would look like depending on version is such a phenomenal touch. Well done Chuggaa, you deserve all the praise as well as everyone who has helped you along the way. Also this part of the game alone is what makes Black and White 2 easily the best mainline Pokémon games
@@Jessica_Schweser I don’t quite remember and I may also be totally over exaggerating, but, we beat Ghetsis pretty damn quickly and we did not get any sleep that day it came out 🤣
One of the best moments in Pokémon thus far. It's moments like this that make B2/W2 me love it. In addition to how addictive and crammed the game is. Fingers crossed a Black 3/White 3 and/or a Legends Unova tops this scene in the series.
It’s still crazy that Ghetsis may be the first and only Pokémon antagonist to blatantly command a Pokémon to KILL the protagonist, cuz there’s no doubt Glaciate would have been fatal on a human. He may be one of the most evil, too, because while other villainous leaders tried to justify their actions with twisted morality, Ghetsis’s only aim is total and sole control, without a shred of remorse.
Technically, Lysandre in the very next Gen, even if he doesn’t use a Pokémon for it, DOES attempt something similar. After you defeat him, he decides to use what energy the Ultimate Weapon was able to absorb from the legendary, and activate it. This is meant to have 2 different outcomes based on version, explained by the man himself. X version: "Sycamore's pupils…Let us live forever… That’s right! I shall grant you eternal life! I’ll give you the pain of endlessly waiting for a beautiful world to finally be built!" Y version: "The ultimate weapon is a flower that bloomed to no avail…Just like me…But this ends here! I will show what it’s remaining power can do!" So, in summary, he either threatens to just flat out kill the protagonist and everyone else down in the area, including himself, or curse all of them with immortality like AZ. It would probably be remembered for being pretty intimidating if the games were…much better at writing him as a character.
@@pokefan7446oh really? I didnt know that. Only played Y and never looked up diferences between versions. Honestly it makes sense that the weapon could still do that since thats what happened to AZ and his pokemon
It's definitely worth noting that Ghetsis is the only antagonist that Masters didn't even TRY to portray sympathetically (aside from Giovanni). Even Cyrus and Lysandre didn't get that dubious honor.
OOH, THIS MOMENT! I adore the cutscene work, it's so dang dynamic even with the DS's limitations! Love the music too, especially the one that plays during the slow reveal of Kyurem's successful fusion. Gen 5 went hard on EVERYTHING. Also WOW that edit with 2:29, genuine goosebumps!
This LP has been *fantastic* so far! Ghetsis and TP is by far peak Pokemon main series antagonists for me. Not only does Neo-TP resemble real-life tear-0r-ists (like the lRa or lSlS), but Ghetsis greed, arrogance, ego, shrewdness/intelligence, and cruelty make him one of if not _the_ best PKMN antagonists! Not to mention how well put together his team is!
After its mediocre debut in Black and White, Kyurem comes back with two new formidable formes Kyurem-Black and Kyurem-White. Unfortunately you weren’t going to do as much as you’d hope with Kyurem-Black considering it has no reliable physical Ice STAB to take advantage of. As shocking as it would normally seem to have a 700 BST mon in Smogon’s OU, it has surprisingly stuck around for 3 generations because of how ineffective its physical move pool was. Its consideration to be put in OU was controversial in the first place; the process of testing it in OU was taking precious time away from balancing existing broken things in the metagame. You could understand the sentiment when you learn that OU started this generation with Shaymin-Sky, Darkrai, Hydration Manaphy, and all of the Deoxys formes. During its testing, Deoxys-D, Tornadus-T, Landorus-I, Keldeo, and Genesect were tearing up the tier. We could have seen Gems and Sleep banned during the generation. Hell, there could be bans that happen after I post this, like banning Keldeo, Volcarona, or Drizzle (and then Drought). Back to Kyurem-Black, it utterly outclasses Haxorus with its screaming 170 base Attack and its ability Teravolt. Don’t get too excited, though. It still had its 95 base speed, which makes it very susceptible to Scarf users and most mons in general. On Choice Band sets, it had to lock itself into Outrage and run Blizzard and Earth Power, which are both special attacks! While its base Special Attack is 120, there really aren’t any other special attacks worth running. It had choices like Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Shadow Claw, Dragon Claw, and Zekrom’s Fusion Bolt, but it leaves it wanting a lot more. And the reason it can’t learn Ice Punch is because its base form… uhhh… has tiny arms? Fortunately, Outrage 2HKO’d most Pokémon, including some Steel-types. Opposing mons couldn’t switch into it safely and it genuinely felt like an honest wallbreaker… in a broken meta game anyway. In Gen 7, it at least got to take advantage of that sweet, sweet physical Ice STAB for one turn, but that’s a Z-Crystal that isn’t getting used on other team members. Then, Gen 8 gave it Icicle Spear and Dragon Dance; that was enough to ban it. So now it had to compete with Zekrom, Darmanitan-G, and Weavile, the latter of which is not banned from OU. It had its own niche because Dynamax was still allowed in Ubers. But after Dynamax’s eventual ban to Anything Goes, Kyurem-B languished in the lower viability rankings of Ubers. It did have that one surprise strat that used TR43 Overheat as a Fling item to punish Necrozma-Dusk Mane, but it was easy to see coming because Kyurem-Black would otherwise run Heavy Duty Boots. How the &%*@ does a plastic disk give Fling a base power of 130?! Btw, Gen 9’s Fling can be 130 PWR if the user throws a Big Nugget. What a mechanically deep move that sees zero use… Kyurem-White on the other hand is amazing, even in Gen 5 Ubers. With 170 base Special Attack, Choice Specs sets are &%*@-ing nuclear. Ice Beam has pretty good odds to OHKO the Great Wall of Ubers, Lugia, thanks to Turboblaze. Uber staples like Ho-oh, Dialga, Palkia, and even Ferrothorn are 2HKO’d regardless of their EV spread. If it wasn’t content firing Ice Beams, it could just drop dracos. To give you an idea how strong its Draco Meteor is, it does around 90% to Dialga with Max HP & SpDef plus a Calm nature and kills Max HP variants of Palkia twice over (205.2% minimum). As a side note, the base power of Ice Beam and Draco Meteor (along with other moves) were nerfed next generation, Kyurem-White likely being one of the reasons why. At least those moves are both resisted by other Steel-types… oh right, it can use Focus Blast and Reshiram’s Fusion Flare! Nothing switches in safely. Your most reliable answer is sacrificing a teammate you don’t need for later and revenge-killing it with something faster. Sure, Blissey can potentially stall out its Draco Meteor (which do less than 50%) and stall with Wish and Protect, but that might invite another wallbreaker to come in. If you’re not careful, your team will get soft enough so that faster monsters, like Mewtwo, Latios, Scarf Kyogre, Darkrai, and E-Killer Arceus, can sweep the rest of your team. Kyurem-White may be the best wall-breaker in the game through damage output alone. If it weren’t for the drawbacks of a choice item and Draco Meteor, it likely would have been used on every team. Some players even opted for Life Orb + Roost or Choice Scarf sets to improve versatility or surprise faster Pokémon respectively. Kyurem-White has appeared a few times in Doubles, most frequently in Gen 8’s VGC Series 12. By pairing Kyurem-W with the right kind of support, it could nuke a lot of metagame. For example, Freeze Dry, despite the 70 base power, chunks Kyogre and OHKOs its partners Ludicolo, Seismitoad, and Palkia. It also ran Earth Power to beat Steel-types, although it needed extra support against Zacian. That’s where it took advantage of Dynamax, securing some crucial KOs and living some extra attacks. Incineroar, Whimsicott, and Regieleki were commonly used to reverse bad-matchups and Kyurem-White is one of many Pokémon that took advantage of this team core. The right player could systematically dismantle some parts of the opponent’s team and then finish them with Kyurem’s partners. However, if you played your support wrong, Kyurem was basically dead weight. 95 Speed is not very good when you have so many weaknesses as an Ice-type. As a meta that only allowed two restricted legendaries per team, there were so many other behemoths you could have played instead. The fact that it had a meaningful niche at all is amazing, even if the meta was littered with Steel-types and big sword doggos. Both Kyurem formes were pretty under-explored, especially because a restricted format for Gen 5 VGC never existed. Yeah, the Ice-type sucks defensively and sometimes offensively. Yeah, Primal Groudon, Mega Rayquaza, Dusk Mane Necrozma, and Zacian made their lives impossible. Yeah, Kyurem-Black sucks and is mostly outclassed by Zekrom. But Kyurem-White is definitely worth considering in the team-builder when its coverage is mostly unresisted and its Special Attack is nearly unrivaled.
Jesus, you had this on lock huh? Kyurem’s competitive history is extremely interesting between its three forms. I think it’s funny that Kyu-B, who had like the 2nd highest BST of anything in the series this far, sucked relatively bad compared to even Kyu-W.
For regular Kyurem, I would want it to acquire the following moves at some point if it hasn't already: Icicle Crash, Ice Spinner, Mountain Gale, Ice Shard, Dragon Rush, Snowscape, Aurora Veil, Mist, Haze, Agility, Swords Dance, Roar, Defog, Earthquake, High Horsepower, Stomping Tantrum, Extrasensory, Terrain Pulse, Meteor Beam, Air Slash, and Hurricane For Black Kyurem, in addition to the moves listed above, I would want it to learn these moves at some points if it hasn't already: Ice Punch, Ice Hammer, Thunder Fang, Wild Charge, Thunder Punch, Hammer Arm, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Charge Beam, Parabolic Charge, Discharge, Shock Wave, Electroweb, Electro Ball, Zap Cannon, Volt Switch, Thunder Wave, Electric Terrain, Ion Deluge, Eerie Impulse, Charge, Magnet Rise, Tail Glow, and Rising Voltage For White Kyurem, in addition to the moves listed under regular Kyurem but not Black Kyurem, I would want it to learn these moves at some point if it hasn't already: Blaze Kick, Flare Blitz, Fire Lash, Fire Punch, Heat Crash, Flame Charge, Inferno, Heat Wave, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Mystical Fire, Fire Spin, Eruption, Fiery Dance, Overheat, Burning Jealousy, Tail Glow, and Will-O-Wisp
Yeah... when the kings of the tier include Latios and Terrakion, you kinda just get stomped into the ground as an ice type. Everything else was so incredibly hostile too as steels could easily tank it and Ferrothorn and Scizor just sat on it and laughed at it while they just healed up using Leech Seed and Roost respectively. Getting icicle spear gave it something at least and that immediately shot it up to the point where it could beat things like Eternatus.
YamaDora such great work on that second picture that is hilarious that Chugga has a professional drawing of how the Pokemon should feel on its appearance with Chugga complaining about it XD
"Those who played the spinoff games know what I mean" NOOO!! You unlocked a memory of Kyreum...How do I put this gently... SHATTERING A POKEMON TO PIECES, KILLING THEM INSTANTLY!
The climax with Team Plasma has to be my favorite final encounter of any evil team in Pokemon. Not to mention how Pokemon Generations made this moment, and the Opelucid city attack even better!
I don't know if anyone's ever said this, but Chugga you really put on a good voice for Ghetsis. Really gave him that feeling of completely losing touch on being human. You'd make a really awesome voice actor :)
Amazing of Chugga to acknowledge the absolute violence of the opening of Pokemon Rumble U where the Kyurem figure rolled under a guy's foot to make him drop all the pokemon figure capsules into a river! That scene really had me shaking when I saw it! Edit: it was a joke, guys
@billiezeiszler608 I mean, I assume that's what Emile was actually referring to, most likely the scene where Kyurem freezes and shatters Hydreigon to stop him helping you destroy the Bittercold. Only spin off moment I could think of that's actually violent involving Kyurem in spin offs
@ariasfantasy8899 That's the one I'm playing currently!!! I keep having thoughts of "wow, this game is darker than I expected" and I'm pretty early in, so I can't wait to see where things go (including that Kyurem scene!)
@@yamadora_arts This is my first time looking at your art, and I've been liking the style! I especially like the derpy looking white Kyurem. Do you have plans on uploading all your artwork in this video to one of your art platforms?
@@oborochi8273 I won't be posting the Kyurem portraits you see in this video. Also, I don't normally do Pokémon art, and don't want to mislead people who are only interested in that.
I love the touch of Ghetsis stabbing his staff into the ground in his trainer animation and it remaining in the ground after the battle. That's detail work.
@emceechupitheundying5692 I have no clue. This was when it was my first pokemon game and I was 8 I think. every other member of my team was like 30 levels under that serperior too lol. I remember there was a dewgong and a volcarona on it, maybe an ampharos too.
And Emile, thank you for talking about that stuff at the end. It hit home on a problem I genuinely have. I can't stand being alone, especially when a person stops talking to me randomly. I've always hated radio silence.
25:27 And yet again Chuggaa gives some sage advice while I'm feeling at my lowest. Honestly been feeling kinda down lately, especially with some truths told to me that I should've heard a while ago before things would've escalated, and it's made me feel like people don't want to tell me how things are and aren't straight with me for a long time that it just makes things even worse. I've been dealing with a lot in my life, and interactions with people really hurts my own self-esteem. I just wish people could tell me how it is rather than just keeping it to themselves before they tell me later on and make things worse. We can't strive to improve without communication. Thank you for this, Chuggaa. It honestly makes me feel a lot better. And I'm sorry for lashing out here and on Twitter about my frustrations regarding your remarks against Sticker Star. You have every right to share your opinions.
Some people might not like the changes to Ghetsis's team and song in BW2, but I will defend it with a logical explanation: the changes represent the changes in Ghetsis's mental state. In BW, Ghetsis had a slow, sinister theme, representing how he is far more calculating and intimidating. His Hydreigon has a special moveset to match its higher special attack, and it has super effective moves against all of N's pokemon, just in case N doesn't follow what Ghetsis plans. Ghetsis could easily defeat N with just the Hydreigon. In BW2, his mental and physical state has severely deteriorated (hence how he struggled to plant his cane in the ground and wheezed after in his battle intro animation) and his song has become far faster-paced and hectic, since he is no longer as calculating and is solely focused on eliminating the player. His Hydreigon now has a full physical moveset (representing his diminished mental state causing him to not think as clearly) and the life orb it holds could represent how self-destructive he had become in his efforts to take over Unova. His Hydreigon even has zero friendship to have a full-power frustration, which reflects his frustration at the events taking place and how his plans are falling apart. This is my defense for the changes to Ghetsis overall, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, hopefully some of you *get* *this.*
This has to be one of my favorite parts of Pokémon! Pokémon fusion is such a neat idea and I love how Kyurem was used as the first. Both forms are impressive!
Black Kyurem is one of my favorite legendaries, and it is also a good battler. White Kyurem is amazing as well but due to design and how terrifying a physical ice type can be that is why I love black Kyurem. I do hope we see a complete kyurem sooner or later.
I want you to know, you're always my inspiration for Let's Play Series! I love all of your videos, and my favorite ones are always the Pokemon Content related ones and your beautiful Passion Project that is Xenoblade 2
"Fun" fact about Kyurem-Black: Despite its box art legendary status and absurd stats, Smogon deemed Kyurem-Black worthy of play in the OU format, the tier BELOW where all the box art legendaries reside. The reason why is that it didn't have a physical Ice move actually worth using. As a result, it has to either forgo its Ice typing offensively or invest into Special Attack (thereby lowering its physical prowess). With Generation 8 though, Kyurem-Black finally obtained a usable physical Ice move in Icicle Spear and Dragon Dance to make it even more powerful, the boosts required to return it to Ubers status.
Aiden really went out there like “You think that because you’re a fusion god, means you’re tougher than me? I was born and raised near the sewers of Unova. Nothing’s tougher than me!” (I also imagine he would be speaking in a stereotypical Brooklyn accent)
Can't say I expected you to hint at the PMD3 cutscene with Kyurem. That scene still gives me shivers... (Fun fact: this boss fight ended the Nuzlocke of a streamer friend of mine, where an Emolga named after me was her last Pokemon and died to Drapion's Poison Fang. I had no idea this fight commonly ended Nuzlockes, but given the difficulty of it [and having only gotten through it by cheesing it with Cobalion myself] I should've suspected as much)
The editing to show both Black Kyurem and White Kyurem simultaneously was amazing! I played White 2, but have to say I like Black Kyurem’s design more.
This part of the game is always the part that I look forward to whenever I watch a speedrun of this game. It is mainly from the hilarity of having all the buildup around Kyurem-White/Black, having a long elaborate fight and transformation scene, all of which leads to an epic boss fight, only for the speedrunner's Excadrill to one shot it with Iron Head. 🤣
Might be one of my favorite batches of fights you've done so far, partly because it was a proper challenge & partly because I love seeing how the stuff you do compares to my own blind playthrough. Was surprised he sent out Hydreigon for you when he did. I fought that one last, and figured that was meant as his last-ditch ace in the hole. So awesome to see Aidan continue to be a badass, and to see Jade get an excellent sweep!
Aidan, the destroyer of Gods, strikes again! Saving all of Unova in the process! Edit: Meanwhile Jade absolutely SWEEPS Ghetsis's team after Aidan dealt with the Cofagrigus and McFly was knocked out by the Eelectross.
have you guys noticed how Emile reads N's text faster just how the game scrolls his text faster to imply he's a fast speaker? I love how he pays attention to these little details
Aidan adding to his god kill count and Jade stomped on Ghetsis's team. Impressive performances.
He’s at about 34 gods killed
A victory for Flygons everywhere. Who needs Garchomp when you have this adorable beast?!
A contest for Mal's Eevee, Beatrice.
I like to think Emile’s roasting was just Aiden’s internal monologue as he was pulling this thing apart like the relentless bully he is. 😂 It just fits with the character we’ve given this particular vaporeon; a rage-filled little guy who would probably pee on a god after slaying it.
"Welp, time to go hunt some Legendaries for the Pokedex. Are you ready, Aidan?"
*"I HUNGER."*
The fact that somebody actually came VERY CLOSE to straight up murdering the protagonist in a Pokemon game is one of the most shocking moments in this franchise. I legit felt like my player was in actual danger compared to past games!
Hence my Death Wish upon Ghetsis
What's crazier is that it happened twice. Scarlet and violet have the Professor's ai almost kill the Protag as well.

@@HeavyMetalBelievermaximum power frustration, to be precise
He strikes me as more psychotic than anything. A sociopath is capable of functioning in normal society. Meanwhile, a psychopath is on the opposite side of that spectrum.

Which is pretty scary.
Even Cyrus was able to evolve Pokémon through friendship.
Not to mention how battle theme in this game. Terrifying.
That scene with Ghetsis threatening to freeze the player with Kyurem is still one the most terrifying things I've ever seen in a video game! And that's taking his breakdown after his boss fight into consideration!
And can we talk about his battle theme becoming deranged in BW2?
to threaten requires to not plan on doing it, it wasn't a threat it was a promise
Freeze nothing that attack would’ve outright KILLED the player. Those icicles were sharp as knives.
Possibly the smartest way of dealing with his opponent until Professor Sada/Turo straight up lock all of your pokeballs.
Man, Ghetsis loved seeing the player cower in fear. A good thing N came in to save the player.
Agreed, it's such a cool little detail!
Maybe the detail is suppose to be that base Kyruem’s eyes are blank because it was what was leftover from the original dragon; an empty husk if you will. It’s eyes then change because it is filled with the spirits of the truths or ideals it had lost.

In the Japanese version of black and white 2, Ghetsis did not say «Kyurem, glaciate!» instead, in the Japanese version he says «Kyurem, impale them!» that’s much more terrifying and dark instead of him saying «Kyurem, glaciate!»

Also really like how the “opening” of kyurem’s theme is also what you hear on the title screen before the main Pokémon theme plays.
13:28 And with this, Aidan has beaten a literal fusion of gods, I guess he is the most terrifying member of the team, I Love it. I freaking love it.
Call him Nemesis because he's the God Shattering Star.
Someone give that Vaporeon a Legendary redesign.
Probably old news at this point, but it’s still a cool/scary detail: Ghetsis’s Hydreigon has likely gone insane as well, considering that it has a *maximum power* Frustration attack.
Plus hydreigon is a special attacker
I beat Ghetsis in Pokémon White yesterday. His Hydreigon one-shotted most of my team.
Also Chugga STILL doesn’t notice the full restores.
I guess that he recorded the last two episodes in succession so he never read the comments, but it's hilarious watching him miss those items so many times

Finally getting to hear the DENNIS chant in-game sends chills down my spine...!
It’s saying Ghetsis
I always hear "babies"!
10:30 The asymmetry makes sense. White and Black Kyruem are merely two halves of the original dragon Pokemon that became Reshiram and Zekrom, leaving Kyruem behind as an empty shell. Both designs are pretty great in their own right.
The secret to leveling down is...exactly what you said! Ghetsis has truly lost it, and sees no reason to 'sharpen' his tools, or show them any respect
6:12 One of the most underrated unveilings in any of the games, ever. Music, shots, everything

Jade going from being the weakest memeber of the team that had to be looked after to soloing 4 of Ghestis pokemon, Hydreigon included, is so poetic.
“I have a memory that continues to haunt me. Just one. That unpleasant look in your eyes reminds me of it.” Oh my god he killed Blair
I think he was referring to the look Blair gave before fighting ghetisis, the look of determination.
He killed the old main protagonist, the one in black and white 1
I'm not too sure if that is really canon. Blair even showed up in some random Pokemon Masters event.
I just realized how much fun a Fire Emblem playthrough would be with Chugga doing Bios for every unit like they're Pokemon

@@yamadora_arts Still freaking hilarious though, you did a fine job here. Thanks for making this masterpiece
Yet heidreigon still listens to ghetsis, meaning either heidreigon is TERRIFIED of ghetsis or its straight up lost its mind and is essentially rabid

I’ll give you the pain of endlessly waiting for a beautiful world to finally be built!"
Y version: "The ultimate weapon is a flower that bloomed to no avail…Just like me…But this ends here! I will show what it’s remaining power can do!"
So, in summary, he either threatens to just flat out kill the protagonist and everyone else down in the area, including himself, or curse all of them with immortality like AZ. It would probably be remembered for being pretty intimidating if the games were…much better at writing him as a character.
@@pokefan7446 Ah, yes, that’s true.

What a mechanically deep move that sees zero use…
Kyurem-White on the other hand is amazing, even in Gen 5 Ubers.
Jesus man
Jesus, you had this on lock huh? Kyurem’s competitive history is extremely interesting between its three forms. I think it’s funny that Kyu-B, who had like the 2nd highest BST of anything in the series this far, sucked relatively bad compared to even Kyu-W.

For White Kyurem, in addition to the moves listed under regular Kyurem but not Black Kyurem, I would want it to learn these moves at some point if it hasn't already:
Blaze Kick, Flare Blitz, Fire Lash, Fire Punch, Heat Crash, Flame Charge, Inferno, Heat Wave, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Mystical Fire, Fire Spin, Eruption, Fiery Dance, Overheat, Burning Jealousy, Tail Glow, and Will-O-Wisp
Yeah... when the kings of the tier include Latios and Terrakion, you kinda just get stomped into the ground as an ice type.
The ashamed White Kyurem was strangely adorable.
YamaDora such great work on that second picture that is hilarious that Chugga has a professional drawing of how the Pokemon should feel on its appearance with Chugga complaining about it XD
"Those who played the spinoff games know what I mean"
NOOO!!
Chuggaconroy:Wish i had a Full Restore
Audience watching:You do, you have 2
I don't know if anyone's ever said this, but Chugga you really put on a good voice for Ghetsis.
I thought he was talking about mystery dungeon.😅
@billiezeiszler608 I mean, I assume that's what Emile was actually referring to, most likely the scene where Kyurem freezes and shatters Hydreigon to stop him helping you destroy the Bittercold. Only spin off moment I could think of that's actually violent involving Kyurem in spin offs
@@randomdudd2611 That happens??? Oh my goodness! Which Mystery Dungeon game was it, if you don't mind me asking?
@@pikapower_kirbygates to infinity!
@ariasfantasy8899 That's the one I'm playing currently!!! I keep having thoughts of "wow, this game is darker than I expected" and I'm pretty early in, so I can't wait to see where things go (including that Kyurem scene!)
Okay, 2:33 was by far the best edit I've seen. I love how that looks.
The Kyurem art have a Ken Sugimori kind aesthetic to them love that and looks phenomenal props to YamaDora.
Haha, I'll take it! Some of my earliest artistic attempts were actually copying Sugimori's work, and I've always liked his style.
I don't post commission works, and these portraits happen to have small digital edits that are against my brand (my art is always 100% traditional, no digital edits). Also, I don't normally do Pokémon art, and don't want to mislead people who are only interested in that.
@@yamadora_arts Alright, thanks for letting me know.
I love the touch of Ghetsis stabbing his staff into the ground in his trainer animation and it remaining in the ground after the battle. That's detail work.
"Ghetsis is technically one of the few trainers to ever use a team of 7 Pokemon against you"
looks at Legends Arceus
I love this part of the game so much. I have such a vivid memory of challenging ghetsis with a level 73 serperior
You too, huh?
73?! How long did you grind?!
@emceechupitheundying5692 I have no clue. This was when it was my first pokemon game and I was 8 I think. every other member of my team was like 30 levels under that serperior too lol. I remember there was a dewgong and a volcarona on it, maybe an ampharos too.
I love the stark transition from the glorious Black Kyurem to White Kyurem
Man. Ghetsis telling Kyurem to outright murder a child is chilling (pun intended).
16:50 OH I know exactly what you're talking about
Gates to infinity, I'm assuming.
@@pokehunterhd the stomping after that ice beam scene. Dear Arceus.
N: I never would have believed that Pokemon could fuse together.
Slowbro: UGH!?
BW2 Ghetsis is better imo
I love the art of White Kyurem during the time Chuggaa was ranting. It looked so embarrassed, it’s so good
One of the best climaxes to a Pokémon game, definitely the best one up to this point, at least.
This has to be one of my favorite parts of Pokémon! Pokémon fusion is such a neat idea and I love how Kyurem was used as the first. Both forms are impressive!
Pokemon fusion is such an interesting concept to the point of it having a fan game about it
"Sure be nice if I had a [Full Restore]!"
>PICKS THE ITEM RIGHT ABOVE IT
Black Kyurem is one of my favorite legendaries, and it is also a good battler. White Kyurem is amazing as well but due to design and how terrifying a physical ice type can be that is why I love black Kyurem. I do hope we see a complete kyurem sooner or later.
Dude, if we see the original dragon officially, that would give so much closure to my life.
I like how the Giant Chasm theme manages to sound really ominous here, even though it's calming in other contexts.
I can’t express how happy I am at seeing a Flygon sweep a team!! Its been so awesome seeing Jade grow!
As a fellow Flygon, yes! I'm with you all the way!
"Sure would be nice if I had a Full Restore right now!"
the two full restores sitting right next to the Castelia Cones:
God i forgot how *chilling* this part is.
I like how There's 2 pieces of art for white Kyurem one serious, and one that just makes him look precious.
I want you to know, you're always my inspiration for Let's Play Series! I love all of your videos, and my favorite ones are always the Pokemon Content related ones and your beautiful Passion Project that is Xenoblade 2
Emile's ending speech was just what I needed to hear. Thanks man. Love this series, let's finish strong ❤️
The day when Emile realizes he has two Full Restores...is not today...
"Fun" fact about Kyurem-Black:
Despite its box art legendary status and absurd stats, Smogon deemed Kyurem-Black worthy of play in the OU format, the tier BELOW where all the box art legendaries reside.
Adian literally did a"Broke his arm punching out Cthullu" moment!
These scenes alone pretty much put Kyurem on the "favorite of all time" pedestal for me.
Aiden really went out there like “You think that because you’re a fusion god, means you’re tougher than me? I was born and raised near the sewers of Unova. Nothing’s tougher than me!” (I also imagine he would be speaking in a stereotypical Brooklyn accent)
Brooklyn Aiden sounds fun
"If you went through what I went through, you'd be dead, ya hear?"
@@tedscheett9420 hearing it in my head. I think the Scout’s Boston accent fits better. I think I got some wires crossed when thinking about accents
Aiden once again proves his unrelenting fury
16:43 BELIEVE ME, I REMEMBER
Can't say I expected you to hint at the PMD3 cutscene with Kyurem.
That scene still gives me shivers...
(Fun fact: this boss fight ended the Nuzlocke of a streamer friend of mine, where an Emolga named after me was her last Pokemon and died to Drapion's Poison Fang. I had no idea this fight commonly ended Nuzlockes, but given the difficulty of it [and having only gotten through it by cheesing it with Cobalion myself] I should've suspected as much)
Honestly it can be so brutal prepared or not and everything can hit hard. I did once beat ghetsis with a clefairy though
Not surprised this fight is a nuzlocke killer. His team is good.
Chugga: "Would be nice if I had a Full Restore"
*literally just used a Casteliacone right above his Full Restore*
Feel like I’ve been waiting for this specific video since the game came out and I hoped Chugga would let’s play it some day. The wait was worth it ❤️
have you guys noticed how Emile reads N's text faster just how the game scrolls his text faster to imply he's a fast speaker? I love how he pays attention to these little details
