A slight clarification about the Power items: you don't need to gain matching EVs for them to pay out. So you could equip a non-matching power item and get 1 EV to the first stat and 4 EVs to the second stat. I like to use this when I'm EV training two stats up to full. If I need to raise Attack and Speed, I can go to where the Attack EVs are common and equip the Speed power item. Speed will cap out first, and then I can switch to the Attack power item and finish off that stat. Since I wanted both of them maxed out anyways none of the EVs were ever wasted, and it can be helpful if the Attack EV training spot is more convenient than the Speed one.

20:16 Chugga is actually quite wrong here, no AI in any Pokemon game is capable of calling the player switching out (It may be different in battle facilities but its highly unlikely), whats actually going on here and in other cases is that the AI always goes for a move that will kill the opponent, if applicable, and since multiple moves kill here, the AI just picks a random move to use. The fact Bouffalant used Earthquake there was 100% coincedence. If there are cases where the AI does not follow these rules, either the foe is using Random AI (wild Pokemon and low level trainers use this) or some weird case move like Reversal is interfering with the AI patterns, but the latter case is fairly uncommon. Nerd moment but I thought it was important to point out since its potentially misinformation.
It's because this is one of the episodes where the game audio was lost and a friend of Chugga had to mix in game audio and music into the video and they forgot to mix in the low HP music.
Sharing some AI knowledge, courtesy of the nuzlocke community: In most games (because Gen 1 will always be weird), enemy trainers check the damage of each of their moves against your current Pokemon, and simply choose whatever does the most. If a move can take you down, they'll always go for that, even over setup options. This is why Gigalith didn't go for the Stealth Rock: because it saw a kill with Earthquake If multiple moves will be lethal, the AI picks one at random (depending on the game, they may prioritize fast moves like Quick Attack or Sucker Punch, to ensure they move first). This is presumably to simulate what Chuggaa described and try to catch you switching out. This was what happened with the Boufalant: It saw a kill on Aidan with either Wild Charge or Head Charge, and randomly picked the afro option There are even rare cases where a move only has a chance to KO, but when checking damage the AI rolls high and sees a kill. It can then randomly choose that move over something stronger (that would be guaranteed to KO), and roll low damage and fail to take you out Shout-outs to Pokemon Challenges and his community, that's where I learned all of this
4:30 There's a bit of misinformation here. With those Power EV training items held, you will gain 4 EVs in the stat in question in addition to whatever you would gain normally. You don't have to be gaining Attack EVs to receive the benefits of the Power Bracer. A pokémon holding one thay defeats a Machop will gain 5 Attack EVs. Defeating a Magikarp will earn 4 Attack EVs and 1 Speed EV. Then pokérus doubles all that.
4:56 They still have pokérus and the benefits thereof, they just aren't contagious anymore. Which makes it vital to keep a pokémon with still contagious pokérus in the bank so that you can keep spreading it to whichever pokémon you want to EV train, and immediatedly put that active pokérus haver back when you done. Also it's one to four days before they stop spreading it, not just one day every time.
Emile using physical moves on the tanky Pokemon that buffed their Defense a lot sure is an Emile moment if I ever saw one. Every time he says "mainland" I just think "I don't think that word means what you think it means"
I have an amusing story to share. When I was little and playing pokemon Emerald I trained a Swellow as a team member. My friend told me to give it the macho brace because it would make it stronger. I did that, only I never realized that stronger meant ev training and I eventually swapped it out for Scarmory because Swellow was so 'weak and slow'🤣.
It'd be neat if in a Unova sequel or even in The Indigo Disk we have an NPC alluding to Hugh helping them find their lost Pokémon. Not outright mentioning him, but have it be a nice easter egg for those that have played Black 2 or White 2.
I can just imagine Blaise is speaking to her chat while live streaming her fights with the personality of chuggaa while people just accept the fact she's like this.
4:32 For the Power Items, I don't believe the Pokémon knocked out needs to yield EV's in the corresponding stat at all. You could equip a Power Belt and knock out a Purrloin and still gain Defense EV's, even though Purrloin does not yield Defense EV's itself. The Power item just tacks on those EV's to any KO, so long as that KO yields EV's of any kind. (Which means, not in a Battle Facility or PVP, of course.) And as a semi-related side note, some Pokémon also naturally yield EV's in more than one stat. Make sure you know your target... 5:22 I'm imagining Cheren as Protonjon now... 7:35 *Looks in top right corner.* Nice Samurott, buddy. 9:43 Wouldn't Draco Meteor have made more sense? Considering Serperior is at +3 Defense here... - Well, it would have, if Jade had any hope of survival here... whoops. 20:45 Because it saw the KO with Head Charge, too. The 100 power Earthquake nearly 2-shotted Aidan, so STAB 120 power Head Charge was of course also *way* more than enough to secure that KO. It didn't need to Wild Charge. Also, inclined to say that crit probably didn't matter... Bouffalant HURTS. Bouffalant has a rather pitiful 55 Speed, so really anything sans Crustle was likely to outspeed it anyway. 22:22 Eelektross is just over half Emboar's weight, so Heat Crash falls into the weakest power bracket here of 40 power. So yeah... Basically why I don't like Heat Crash.
Given how Bianca’s the only one of the rivals to not have a Dragon type, I imagine if she did. She’d have Hydreigon. Like she stumbles upon a Deino and finds it cute. I know Ghetsis has one as his ace but shush
I like to think that Aiden has a twig in his mouth like Ash's Sceptile which fits cause I think Sceptile is just behind Pikachu for beating the most legendary Pokemon in the series.
The way the sound is coming out of left or right ear (Having totally forgotten the word for this effect) depending on where the battle effect is happening is neat, but also makes my ears tickle.
20:23 That’s not the case - if multiple moves can kill you, it randomly decides between the moves that can. Full RNG. Next turn it saw a kill with both Head Charge and Wild Charge, and just flipped a coin.
The running gag of Aidan being a Vaporeon of pure violence and a slayer of Gods is a highlight of this entire playthrough.

8:00 I think their Samurott has an infection if they look like that
Ah yes my favorite grass starter samurott
7:33 ah yes. my favourite grass type starter, Samurott
20:25-20:45 😂 Love how the AI baited Chugga 4 a free kill
10:50 I just noticed, the low hp music isn't ovewritting the original rival music
Serperior causing trouble for Chugga again.
10:34 Anoyone notice the music didn’t change when Pignati entered red health?
7:52 Err.... Last I checked, Samurott was NOT a grass type.
😂
Or a snake 💀
Simisear? Beat Cheren into submission
It'd be neat if in a Unova sequel or even in The Indigo Disk we have an NPC alluding to Hugh helping them find their lost Pokémon. Not outright mentioning him, but have it be a nice easter egg for those that have played Black 2 or White 2.
Am I the only one that noticed in Emile's battle with Cheren that Serperior had Samurott as it's name in the sidebar. Did Emile make a blunder? 😆
He also said it was level 64 when it actually was level 67.
as my friends once it boofalaunt is a monster truck. its slow but you dont want to stand in its way
The name of Pokerus is why it's not in Scarlet and Violet-since COVID was still fresh in everyone's mind, they didn't want to bring back bad memories.
Wait it’s not in SV?
@@zigslotheon Nope
I can just imagine Blaise is speaking to her chat while live streaming her fights with the personality of chuggaa while people just accept the fact she's like this.
-And then moves to Paldea under the alias "Iono"-
4:32 For the Power Items, I don't believe the Pokémon knocked out needs to yield EV's in the corresponding stat at all.
7:35
That's the coolest looking Samurott I've ever seen!
I looked up how strong an Emboar's Heat Crash was against Eelektross and....it's 40 BP, so Flame Charge somehow manages to do more damage
20:40 STAB Head Charge had as much power as supereffective Wild Charge, so this makes sense
Might be nifty to end the series on a showdown between Blaise and Blair!
7:38 minor mistakes twice in a row, it's not level 64 and the side bar calls serperior samurott instead
Cheren's Serperior, once again providing itself quite the worthy opponent.
(As a Serperior fan, this makes me happy. :3)
Cheren is a hacker! He has a Samurott that looks like a Serperior! 🤣 “Check the battle box info”
1:06 How did you get the sound effects changed?
It’s the final rematch
20:23 That’s not the case - if multiple moves can kill you, it randomly decides between the moves that can. Full RNG. Next turn it saw a kill with both Head Charge and Wild Charge, and just flipped a coin.
22:38, that’s a lie if you have a Pokémon with mold breaker.
Aidan is basically Kirby looks cute and cuddly but in reality he is a slayer of the gods.
Ah yes, my favorite grass snake, Samurott. 7:52
Next is one of the most elaborate, underground caves systems in this entire game
23:26 why wasn't the low hp music playing?
Ahh, my favorite area in Black and White 2:
Amethyst
