In SA1, you have to raise their happiness to 15 and feed them all the animals. This is due to players being able to attack the chao easily as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy. Big's Lure can't hurt the chao and Gamma's gun can't lock on to the chao. The reason why it is easy for the characters to attack chao by (example Sonic's Spin and Light Dashes) is because of the coding for the Gardens is the same as the hub world. The game still thinks you are in a hub. My guess is that the developers forgot to make a code for the garden to disable the attacks (Spin Dash, Light Dash, Punch, Tail, and Hammer). Though all of that is a guess that I am giving.
Gamma can only shoot chao on Dreamcast, not DX. Also just use the Y button to pick the chao up on Dreamcast(guess nobody could be bothered to read that piece of advice in the manual)
I hated them in the DC version because of their habit of throwing tantrums far more like they throw tantrums for fruit every 5-10 minutes if you don't feed them every minute. Sometimes the lil bastards do it the minute they hatch. The sound of them crying is really fucking annoying too. I just lost my rag with them at times and beat the hell out of them.
same as the GameCube version; (DX Directors Cut)age 5, in chao years, (3 hours= 1chao year) and Sonic Adventure 2,(Dreamcast) and GameCube.(Sonic Adventure 2 Battle)It's all the same in every version. (listed above)Hope this helped.😉😉😉 😁👍 😁👍 😁👍
I used to think that Chaos had a devil tail cuz Chaos chao had one and they forgot to re-add it at the end of the game, but I misremembered the devil chaos chao having a tail (natch) so I had to make certain they didn't change the model in SADX so this is good to see.
Not gonna lie.....Chaos Chao in SA1 DC SUCK! Sure they never die from old age but they can still die if their HP hits zero if you attack them too much or don't feed them....... They are so not worth it in this version. Stick to the Gamecube or PC version. Note: Chao in SA1 DC had this hidden HP stat which was removed in SA2 and all later versions of SA1 and replaced with the hidden Happiness. This stat is what is basically keeping a chao alive. If it hits zero the chao dies regardless of how old or nice you were to it. The stat constantly depletes over time so to keep it replenished you had to feed them constantly. What doesn't help is HP depletes more by attacking chao which its extremely easy to accidentally attack them because of attack and pick up being mapped to the same button and they have an annoying habit of getting close to trees when your shaking the fruit down as the fruits bounce around when they fall and can flat out hurt a chao if they get by a falling bouncing fruit. What's worse even if you do manage to get a chao to reincarnate HP still drains while its reincarnating and in the egg so there's a chance a chao can hatch with 0 HP meaning it will die instantly upon hatching making all your hard work for nothing unless you hatch it right next to fruit so it'll eat it instantly. Adding insult to injury the DC version has a bug which makes time pass in all 3 gardens when time is only supposed to pass in the garden you are in meaning while your in one garden chao in the other two can basically die due to they weren't fed and HP hit 0.
You have to get a chao to reincarnate at least twice. Then you have to give at least one of all 15 animals (or 21 in SA2). You also have to make sure the Chao is set to evolve to become a balanced/regular type as if its set too close to being swim fly run or power it won't work. Though getting a chao to last that long on SA1 DC is a nightmare as there's a hidden HP stat which is what keeps a chao alive. This stat constantly depletes so you have to keep feeding them fruits constantly to keep this stat replenished. If it hits 0 the chao dies regardless of how old it is or how nice you were to it. HP depletes much faster if you attack chao which its extremely easy to accidentally attack them because of attack and pick up being mapped to the same button and they have an annoying habit of getting close to trees when your shaking the fruit down as the fruits bounce around when they fall and can flat out hurt a chao if they get by a falling bouncing fruit. What's worse even if you do manage to get a chao to reincarnate (not helped that the cocoons are all white on DC so you can't tell if a chao is evolving, dying or being reborn) HP still drains while its reincarnating and in the egg so there's a chance a chao can hatch with 0 HP meaning it will die instantly upon hatching making all your hard work for nothing unless you hatch it right next to fruit so it'll eat it instantly. Adding insult to injury the DC version has a bug which makes time pass in all 3 gardens when time is only supposed to pass in the garden you are in meaning while your in one garden chao in the other two can basically die due to they weren't fed and HP hit 0. Oh and even if you do manage to a Chaos Chao on DC they suck because they can still die if their HP hits zero.
@@quillllly Its not. Well not in SA1 anyway. Its in SA2 for DC but it was an online DLC thing and the only thing you could get were a few special Chao including a black two tone, several jewel chao and the moon chao. And you bought the chao depending on how many emblems you had obtained instead of rings.

If they didn't intend for you to be able to attack Chao, then why would any of the attacks be programmed to actually hurt them?
You can pick up Chao or anything else by using Y instead of B/X. Y button doesn't do anything but picking up.
The chao in the Dreamcast version are so chaotic yet SO CUTE😍

Whoa I still have it in my VMU. It's still the same rules with SA2, you have to feed all the animals and it has to be second evolution.
2nd *reincarnation... But yes, that's 100% correct!!! and with this Adventure 1, there are 15 animals, and in Adventure 2, there are 21...

It's actually surprisingly easy to get a Chaos Chao in the DC version of Sonic Adventure.

Is the dreamcast version of the chao garden pretty much just the dx version without the black market and with vmu stuff?
Dreamcast had the black market from what i remember
@@idipped2521 I'm 90% sure it doesn't. It's in dreamcast restoration mods but I don't think it's in the original.
