I love it that you are saving as many of these chargers as you can. This is what the world needs today more people saving classic muscle cars instead of crushing them.
Great video. I’m not sure I’d sleep at night knowing my cars are sitting unsecured. Hope you get a place in the near future that allows you to get all these beauties in one place!!
I got into chargers because my dad bought a 1968 charger in 1970 for $2,500. It was green with an olive drab top and it had a 383, 727 transmission and dana 60 rear end.
Wow dude I can’t even find one charger. And you have a lot of them you seem to find them with no problem. I guess you were chosen as the charger care taker. 👍
awesome find! love the yellow charger turn into the General Lee! my biggest dream to emigrate to the U.S. and have the same magical barn find days as you. greetings from germany
awesome to see you back, and to have some extra parts cars , I think you sent a bunch of Vegas heat our way here in Illinois lol, I've never seen it so hot in years, looking forward to next video. have a good day Chris... I miss seeing the turquoise charger 😀
I am 58 years old and I remember when I was 13 and my brother-in-law let me drive his 1968 Red Charger 4 speed manual. I liked the car, in my opinion the best version of the Charger for its front grille and round rear tail lights. I do not remember if it was 440. Bueutiful car.
I like the 1969-1970 version better, as I like those big lights in the back...it made it look more menacing and bad-ass, Ktronica. However, in more recent times, Mopar made their most insanely powerful engine ever in the Hellephant and it is also available, not only to classic Mopar cars, but also to modern ones, in a crate engine kit form. The Hellephant is an even more insanely powerful version of the SRT8 Hellcat and SRT8 Hellcat Demon engines and it has gone from a 6.2 liter (1.64 gallon) engine to a 7.0 liter (1.85 gallon) engine, 4.0 inches of stroke, 4.125 bore inch specifications, a mind numbing 1,000 HP, and a staggering 950 lb ft of torque. You can also even mate it up to the six-speed manual transmissions that are available for the modern Dodge Charger Hellcat and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat if you so desire, and they can also be converted to fit the transmissions of your old school Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth/De Soto/Imperial/AMC vehicle as well, I think. carbuzz.com/news/dodge-unveils-hellephant-crate-motor-good-for-1000-horsepower www.roadandtrack.com/car-shows/sema-show/a24442248/mopars-hellephant-is-a-1000-hp-hellcat-crate-engine-taken-to-the-extreme/ www.topspeed.com/cars/all-about-the-hellephant-crate-engine-and-why-you-should-care-ar183283.html media.fcanorthamerica.com/newsrelease.do?id=20381&mid= www.mopar.com/en-us/store/performance/engine-accessories.html
I got a 74 dodge charger se at my aunts house in alabama. It has a 440 tnt big block with a 3.92 5 speed stick. It has a 4:90 ratio positive traction rear axle.
It's amazing, the 68 & 69 Chargers are by far the best looking. By 70 & 71, Chrysler had completely lost the plot with those lights in the rear bumpers and that hideous front end treatment.
My grandpa had a 73 with a split bench seat with the 318, shifter on the tree, rust color, black top. My brother and I were so upset he didn't buy a perf pkg.
The opening of the locked trunk reminded me of when jeraldo opened al capones hidden vault.. the suspense.. what could be in there?? A set of hemi heads? A rare intake? And it turns out to be a brick with a couple jacks😭😂 Can’t win em all. Anyways, great finds brother.. especially love the bare bones black one 👍🏻
i had a customer in the 70's who had a Australian charger that was a real base model car, 215 Oz hemi six, three speed column shift, bench seat , no radio, etc etc . And ordering that car wasn't the only thing he went cheap on, he would get the oil changed but insisted I not do the filter. One day I forgot and changed it anyway. He went crazy because his bill was $5 more than usual. When I took the filter off it was so heavy with dirt It was amazing.. Apparently he would take the spin on cartridge off and wash it out.....
Yes mate , they really ran the old Aussie Mopars into the ground . My uncle never changed the oil in his VG or serviced it. Just drove it for years until it got stolen then bought a Cl and drove that all over Australia without touching it for 10 years . Now we're fixing these old beasts up and the damage people did was incredible. No modern car would last a year of that abuse. They were cheap so no one cared .
Your customer was a fucking moron, as those things should be changed, and/or cleaned, on a pretty regular basis, just like certain vacuum cleaners and their air filters, Mercmad...it is the same principle, more or less, really, because dirt and debris could easily choke out an air filter, which, in turn, could cause catastrophic damage to your engine, transmission, and many other things in your car or other vehicle.
one of my favorite things to do in the world is drive into vegas after the sun has gone down.... i love the view of the strip exploding out of the darkness in front of you
So glad you changed your mind and decided to save that one iinstead of using it for parts. Don't know if sam is on board with that one you brought by the house, though...
You're a lucky guy, we never got those American chargers in Australia, they built Aussie chargers in South Australia, smaller different car but very nice . Too expensive to buy one now , they want $20 ,000 for a rusted out wreck . Just love the US built chargers , who doesn't like the General Lee . Great find but it breaks my heart to see any old Mopar used for parts . But that's how its got to be to save the other car's. Take care mate , lucky guy.
Peter Goodwin, actually, they are not really smaller at all, as they are built upon the same Dodge Charger/Coronet/Dart/Brazilian Charger/Plymouth Road Runner frame, but the Australian/Oceanian Chrysler vehicles just look different because of different parts, as well as different body panel sizes than their counterparts from the Americas. However, at least 90% of them are similar with their cousins from the Americas.
Nice finds. What else did they have? If you don't want to drill your locks out take out the passenger side lock. Printed on the lock housing will be the key code in most cases especially on older U.S, nd foreign cars. Bring the code or lock to your locksmith and he can cut you a new key for it for few bucks.
Wow that's awesome, what a great find. Looks like you're pretty smart to me, you are wearing safety glasses when drilling and also a Mopar enthusiast 👍🏼. My first car was a 68 Charger, and was actually there in Utah lol. I've got a demon shirt just like that, and picked it up at the Barrett-Jackson auction here in AZ last year 👍🏼
@@junkerup , I remember being with my parents going on go-karts when I was living a few hours north of Las Vegas. I wanted to go there, meaning Las Vegas, with them, as I had not seen them for around three years at that point in my life. Oddly enough, we didn't go to a casino, but seeing as they were, or my mom was/is, a Christian, it simply wasn't a good idea to do that, and I never really liked casinos anyway, despite literally living across the street from a casino/hotel/shopping center/restaurant (though the restaurant had surprisingly good food, which I liked). (The town that I lived in was in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the high desert/mountains and it was also not a very big town.)
Don't go junking those panels you aren't using if there rust free, those dents are easily pulled out. One day you won't be able to buy panels and at the rate everyone seems to be buy up these cars the world over, that day will come around fast. I'm kicking myself for not keeping what I had years gone. Like your work, I'm an old spray painter from the past. Looking forward to the next video. Pete.
Bench seat Charger? You asked & I go look for the answers! Turns out, all 70 Base model Chargers were bench seat. All 500 & R/T were bucket seat cars. I'm sure you knew the 70 was 1st year for a bench in the Charger!
do you sell any b body charger parts? i live in north dakota and am looking for some parts. Could you by chance message me if you will sell some parts??
This is crazy! I can't find a Charger anywhere close to where I live. What would you charge me for a driver side front frame rail section right in front of the cross member? Mine was damaged at some point in it's life. It doesn't need an entire frame rail so I would like to patch it in like you did on part 24 of Turquoise Charger. I can send you a picture of the damaged area if you could help me out. Thx
you have to have a storage lot full of chargers , cause there's no way you have them all at your house. i have 6 mopars on my home acre lot and they all run just in case the county comes around getting nosing. i have a 2 car garage to hide what i'm working on.
Great score! Like your videos. Your one hell of a multi talented guy! Hey where did you find all the info on decoding fender tags. Etc? I got an.. . april 68 charger and i cant be sure its a real r/t or not. What are the sure signs. Dash serial # has correct xs29 with pentastar type rivets. The 5 digit serial number doesnt mach anything on fender tag?. No number but a date on upper rad. Support . but dont yet wanna slice onto rear trunk seal to read driver side of rail. Hi, can you source/find/sell me a charger that i can get shipped to the uk? Ive asked a few companys here but you are the best guy in the world to sort me one!!! Keep up the awesome vids and the saving of all these chargers!!!
David Ames David, if Chris can't, I can put you in touch with someone I know who has sold some very nice 68 - 70 Chargers that were sent to Norway, Iceland, Finland, etc.
LOL look at all those chargers you found and already have. It is charger heaven. Base model is still great! Manual brakes no problem just add a new break booster when you put on a new master cylinder.

It's more betters Chris! Thanks for taking the time to share it with us.😊
Great video. I’m not sure I’d sleep at night knowing my cars are sitting unsecured. Hope you get a place in the near future that allows you to get all these beauties in one place!!
Great find mate,Glad you got there to save them from a possibility of getting crushed .
Dang that’s awesome glad you are fixing them up
I got into chargers because my dad bought a 1968 charger in 1970 for $2,500. It was green with an olive drab top and it had a 383, 727 transmission and dana 60 rear end.
Glad to see you rescue these chargers..they are starting to be scarce ..General Lee good call..I like 70 road runners too. Cheers 🍺🍺🍺🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Wow dude I can’t even find one charger. And you have a lot of them you seem to find them with no problem. I guess you were chosen as the charger care taker. 👍
He is the Godfather of Chargers
he seems like a great guy in the hobby, he might hook you up with a project if you ask him.

You are living my dream.
Absolutely insane buddy..... But one thing for sure, I like your vision. Very smart.... Stay cool.
And I thought I had a car hording issue! Love it man, when you do get them all in one place it's going to be like going to a charger car show

Wow that's awesome, what a great find. Looks like you're pretty smart to me, you are wearing safety glasses when drilling and also a Mopar enthusiast 👍🏼. I need to come out and see you to see if you are selling any of your projects!!
Any time you're in Arizona stop in for a fast desert kart ride. I don't have a charger but I build radical karts!!!✌️😎
Crazy Curly sweet...karts are awesome
Is this in Arizona?

How cool would a leather bench seat Charger with a 4speed big block be? Your girl can ride right next to ya!
What hapend to that black 70 charger and that 68?

how much to do both rear quarters on my 68
Nice pick up on cars. Where are these cars at? My son is looking for parts for his 68 sport satellite.
Man you just get all the chargers save one for the rest of us lol
Okay I'm Officially at a Loss of how Many Chargers you have Now, my Heads Spinin😂🙃
why Do you Capitalize random Words?
Have that shiftier chromed it looks cool...
I agree that '68 is a builder, not a parts car. Why not get your front clip from a satellite or 4 dr taxi? Any B-body '68 to '70 would work.
Any 1966-70 B Body would work.
Man where do you find these cars? Utah is my home state and I never see stuff like this.
Sad to see that this one's for sale and that you're not keeping such a solid car, but hopefully someone else will save it and take care of it.
I have so many that sometimes I have to sell one to afford to build my current project
I'm also restoring a 2nd gen R/T. Needing a LARGE list of parts to get it back on the road. Do you sell any of the extra parts you get from these?
you have to have a storage lot full of chargers , cause there's no way you have them all at your house. i have 6 mopars on my home acre lot and they all run just in case the county comes around getting nosing. i have a 2 car garage to hide what i'm working on.
vaeagle1. he has a few stash spots
yeah i've watched a few vids where he stated he has some stored in about 4 or 5 states , lol
Where is that yard that has those chargers where u bought the 3 cars?

How did you find this? Craigslist?

@mark rylander , that's what she said!
How many Charger do you have ?
I wished I had the black one..I would do complete interior and drive train, a.c. and radio... then drive drive drive
I'm looking for a solid and straight 68 Coronet 440 with side trim
I'll buy a 3rd generation Charger, where is this yard? is it too late?
LOL look at all those chargers you found and already have. It is charger heaven. Base model is still great! Manual brakes no problem just add a new break booster when you put on a new master cylinder.
If the yellow car is General Lee, I would name the 70 base model General Admission....:-)
