I had a white lady ask me that after a blk co worker explained weave to her and at the time i cut my hair so it wasn't long anymore so i don't know how she would think that. Anyway I told her it's a hair cut u know like when u cut ur hair.
I had waist length dreads (they took 10 yrs to grow that long) and some folk routinely assumed that it was not my hair, even after I told them IT WAS the last time they asked me.

At my previous job i let them know we will not be fb friends because we are co workers not friends also i don't use my real name or have my name show up when searched.

My last job was all women and it was like being in a therapist's office. Besides getting in my business, I was also privy to being told about their affairs, husband's affairs, hiding money from the IRS, going to another state to get an abortion at six months along, etc. Finally left.

I don't speak to my co workers about anything, I am not there to make friends. I'm always honest but these a holes keep telling new hires "oh she won't talk to you unless its work don't bother tryin" I'm just like ok Susan you should try it cause everyone knows your husband sleeping with the nanny, heck the customers know at your rate of chatter....

Lord, I have never been more thankful to work in an office with exactly 3 people in it. And the other 2 are my bosses who leave me the hell alone. I'm so happy here! But my prior job was FULL of these people. I can't count the number of times I walked off in the middle of a sentence. Who has time? Not me.

I always said coworkers are not your friends. They’re your coworkers. Keep it cute and brief with them, do your job, and go home. Do not tell coworkers none of your personal business. If they ask questions that is none of their business, just smile and redirect the conversation and if they’re pressed just say I don’t know and walk away or ask why and if they try to be cute and say I just want to know. Simply reply OK and keep it pushing. Your business is not their business. Only tell what you don’t care is spread. Fair warning cause if you do, The whole office or company and everybody and their mama will know your entire conversation the next day. Don’t do it. 😂
